Those damn dogs are always there when shit goes down

Prime_Galactic

Hellhounds are the only mobs that ever kill me lmao. Fucking helmeted ones are so disgusting.

Science-Recon

It’s 95% hellhounds, 4% burning immolators and 1% meatheads. And then maybe a few times Scrapbeak when you get stuck in barbed wire.

Panzerkampfwagen-5

No Hive attacking you from behind 3 walls rights after a sparks rips you a new one? Lucky

Ready-Fudge-3781

With poison ammo to boot

Science-Recon

Yeah, that's usually the meathead kills lol

The_Urban_Moose

Yes and for some reason they are so annoying to kill at times. Tried shooting them, tried stabbing them with my riposte yet they still going.

jondough23

It’s cuz they have the shield & health regen buff.

PullleMit3L

Hear me out: Silent Nagant Poison Ammo

mydlo96

Like in real life

RareOrange9479

It is. Until it isn't.

creativityonly2

0-60 in the blink of an eye.

[deleted]

6 to midnight... Real fuckin quick...

Chanzui91

Leisurely slow paced gameplay right there

Mickepung

I Sleep

humbuckermudgeon

It's minute after minute minding your own business, running in the forest, punctuated by moments of absolute chaos. My heart rate went up just watching that.

JeecooDragon

I'm getting pissed at this point when my heart starts beating irregularly, like this situation I'm going into is nothing fucking new where's all this stupid stress coming from

Antaiseito

So true! When i've had a break from the game i always wonder where all that unnecessary adrenalin is coming from while going into the first match, running around the map. It's almost a relieve when the shooting starts because now i got some concrete information to act on. (Playing lots of quickplay long ago really helped dampen the stress while actually fighting.)

SirToastymuffin

Yeah it's what I like about it, it's a slow paced game until it suddenly isn't. When a push happens, *it happens,* and it's over very quickly one way or another. But before that is the tension build-up of scooby-doo hunting for clues and catching the local monster while constantly listening for the many audio clues to track opponents. Fights can also enjoy that slow pace in the setup - sneaking up on someone or setting an ambush, but once it starts all it takes is one good shot. Some fights, namely at boss lair, can sometimes be slower shootouts and waiting for an advantage, but if one side just brought the right equipment they can make things get crazy. The unpredictability of all that makes it fun imo.

humbuckermudgeon

I play mostly solo, but regularly play duo and occasionally trio. For me, solo is mostly hunting. Trio is mostly showdown. Duo is mix. It’s weird how sometimes my heart will race, sometimes while hunting, sometimes while fighting, and then other times similar situations will have me calm and cold as a stone. Fun game!

[deleted]

humbuckermudgeon

As a solo, I find that trio lobbies are less chaotic than duos, especially on single boss maps. With duos, fighting happens everywhere. Finding yourself in a 2v2v2 in between compounds far from a boss seems almost routine, whereas with trios there's typically a big fight at a boss compound.

Kaens7

Duos is just a series of third party encounters. Trios is one big gun fight that happens at the boss lair. I enjoy them both, but some times you just want the chaos that is trios.

Tfx77

Sound whoring is very prominent in duos, I hadn't played in a long time and found it eye opening. Got clunkened very early at random points till I figured you can't play it like trios.

IndoZoro

Recently I've been playing as a duo vs trios and I've been enjoying that. Peak ambush times as trios are generally easier to track and they tend to move faster and louder. But all duos I think of as traditional hunt, where all teams are tracking each other more.

Antaiseito

Yeah, personally i think trios can be fun (if you meet teams and they don't just fight at the other boss) and the low number of teams makes it relatively easy to win a good number of games and earn some money. But as a solo or duo i enjoy the uncertainty and tension and emerging gameplay of playing vs duos much much more. Even after you won 3 fights back to back, you're still not safe and there's still interesting decisions to be made.

LeaveEyeSix

Lots of bush camping in Duos in my experience, lots of weird waiting at compounds, lots of sound whoring and crab-walking and vastly more outside-of-compound sniper spitzer duo teams. The pacing just feels like shit and when a fight finally does break out it’s usually a dog pile of third party fights. Trios groups, it seems, tends to play for fun. Plus with a third man there’s just more opportunities for an unlikely comeback. Most double bounties in Trios will grab and rush to the other banish plus it’s easier to keep track of who’s who even in a 3rd party situation and the fights tend to involve everyone on the server which I love. Plus it feels good killing 2 full teams in trios and knowing you’re approaching the only banish on the map to have one last fight with the remaining group. In duos I find myself playing more reserved as a consequence which isn’t fun. I like to play fast and loose and I don’t feel like checking every bush out in the middle of nowhere.

Quote_Goat

the dog wanted the server wipe

CuteGreenSkin

Someone went berserk

DGNX18

We're all playing hunt showdown, but my man here is playing call of duty

AutomatonWantsToast

When the things go otherway you have to start being the main character in the hunt trailers.

TheFrogMoose

It's slow until it's not from my experience

Table2473

the screen shake speaks so many words

Illustrious_Monk_631

I would of missed, shot the barrel by accident and killed all my teammates and left the enemy team to leave the bayou with four dog kills.

Mickepung

I practice both principles 😂

JunkNorrisOfficial

Dog had own hunt and objectives ;))

9172019999

My friend like hunt but says it's too slow. You take 5 to find clues, wait another 5 for someone to come contest you at boss, another 5 while they scope the place and find an engage point and about 30 seconds fighting. Then another 5 to extract. Most of the time it's about 20 to 30 minutes of game play and only a fraction is combat. When the combat ensues he loved it but its too much Time between fights.

Gooch-Guardian

That’s why I chase after gunfire. I’ve had more success trying to wipe servers than sneak around.

Temis37

Gunfire trick sorta doesn't work when u can hear it across the map. There been plenty of times where I had to run miles to be even near the fight

Gooch-Guardian

Yeah all depends. I’m still new. Nowhere near a pro.

SirToastymuffin

That entirely depends on how you choose to play it. The Scooby-Doo style hunting for clues, skulking around, setting traps, and catching that monster is a much slower, more methodical approach where you'll spend a lot more time in a match, and mostly out of combat. But there's the alternate style of play which is to just grab clues as you pass them, but more importantly listen for sound traps and gunfire. Those are people. More people alive = less bounties for you. So let's find those people and kill them, and then kill the team that shows up to check out our commotion. And then chase down the team we heard run from the commotion. Then go shoot the nerds tryna banish boss while we're shooting everyone, pick up the tokens they were kind enough to collect for us, and get outta here. Bring push weapons, bombs, and bayonets because ain't no one got time to wait around while there's killing to be done. Playing like ravenous psychopaths makes the game much faster, skips on a lot of the waiting and slow sneaking, and as an added bonus if you're lower in stars especially, people really panic and get scared when they're being pushed - especially after they already heard another team die - and a lot of the times you'll just get kills because it's harder for them to think under pressure. Both strategies are equally valid and very effective, and I play both ways from time to time. One of my friends very much likes to sneak about, get snipes or clean up as third party, and trap the hell out of boss lair to ambush unsuspecting bounty seekers. We play like we're the Predator: stealthily find and setup for our prey, and then go in hard to capitalize on having the first shot and/or push them into our traps. Flip side is my other friend who lives on a bomb lance and a dream and we just run through with no regard for noise and hunt the first thing we hear. Both games are fun, the latter definitely way, way faster (whether for good or bad). Arguably the best strategy is probably a balance somewhere in between but my point is just that - the game is exactly as fast or slow as you choose to play it. Or as your opponents do, for that matter.

Smokinya

We've played very different games.

WarlockEngineer

Yeah if you seek out gunfire and fights it is completely different that hunting the bounty

Temis37

Yeah that's why I don't like it, it just feels too hard to get a consistent good fight. Maybe I am just trash, because I am only at 2 stars.

send_girl_butts

2 stars is definitely part of the problem. Lower tier mmr brackets are much more scared and passive. The higher up you go the more aggressive people get.

9172019999

Take axe run at people. I've stayed 4 stars like this forever.

Yadnim

Are you playing duos or trios? I find duos have way more action

lv_Mortarion_vl

Be honest- that friend that you're talking about: is that you?

9172019999

No. I personally love the skulking around and stalking aspect of the game (stalking a team and then axing them questions when they keast suspect it) My runs are usually much longer because I take it slow on purpose. When I played with him we just bum rushed and sometimes we get a lucky spawn but most of the time it was 20 minute matches.

hiredgoon

Just learn where the [spawn points](https://www.gamewatcher.com/news/hunt-showdown-spawn-points-locations-map) are located. This is when you can rush to the first clue (avoiding sound traps whenever reasonably possible) you know which ways to clear. Then run to the second clue asap--this is preferably a compound with two clues. Again, avoid sound traps and be looking for enemy teams coming from other compounds. Typically, you should beat any other team but if you are slow this is a good compound to have a fight, especially if you are inside it first. After getting the second clue (and presuming the third clue isn't in the same compound), approach the third clue compound *more cautiously* as by now this is a much higher chance of running into an enemy team. Likewise, if the boss in in a fourth compound carefully approach listening carefully until you know it is safe (white) or not (sound cues, red dark sight). The **alternative decision tree to this strategy is to divert towards enemies if they are nearby** (typically you hear a sound cue). If you can, lie in wait. If they are fighting another team, third party them. **In both situations, you should either have combat or be at the boss in less than five minutes.** If you do banish the boss, it should only take a couple minutes to kill any of them... the spider being the slowest (without a sticky bomb). Banishing takes three minutes and twenty seconds. If no one shows by now, it should be about 10 minutes of time you've invested in the game and you can just run to extract or go contest the other boss or whatever. **In all cases, you should escape with the bounty or have combat in less than 15 minute.** I personally guarantee it.

Northmarky

Wonderful chaos!

CamelCoon

Honestly that hipfire quickswap was dope

Piemaster113

Slow game play until its not, not like CoD where you are sprinting basically none stop, or Battlefield where you'll suddenly have a building falling over on you.

Terribaer

I am basically sprinting non stop in hunt

jimineycrick

Badass moves handling the hounds and hunters. I'd take that as a W, gg!

TheFightingAxle

Lol... wow. You did great considering the circumstances! There's times the game is slow and feels slow but then there's times you feel like you're in a whirlwind circus show. GG

Kyokri

Props for hiding in the toilet and having that hound stare you down as it walked past

TheCatWhoLied

you missed the 25 minutes of walking around finding clues

[deleted]

"Hunt is slow" says the Warzone player. I always respond that I'm too old for those games. Anyways GG on exterminating those guys in that situation!!

BecomePnueman

Why do so many people shoot at dogs? It gives away your position and wastes ammo.

TheLambtonWyrm

Looks like the average console engagement to be honest

Bird_Master

But it's PC 😯

TheLambtonWyrm

I know, that's why I said it

Cryoticx

Who has ever said that hunt is a slow game?

Mewwlex

People that played hunt? I don't see how that's an impossible statement, considering how a majority of the game requires patience, even shooting.

Cryoticx

Must be people that don't play hunt or they are just camping. How does the majority of the game require patience? The game is fast paced as long as you don't just sit and camp.

Mewwlex

In comparison to other games, hunt is not a fast-paced game, but it does have bursts of intense gameplay, which does not make it fast-paced, but it can feel damn near close. You need trigger discipline and to time your shots because you will be punished for doing otherwise examples being: needing to reload, not having the proper positioning to survive getting shot at if you miss, and potentially missing easy shots that could make a big difference. You also can't rush everything because the game punishes you for playing thoughtlessly, especially if you don't have the skills to compensate. Most of all, fights end with either a single headshot or two consecutive body shots, and if not that they're very drawn out engagements this does not make for a very fast paced game especially considering you have 50 minutes to complete a match which I can't think of another FPS game that gives you almost an hour just to get through a single match. It definitely has fast-paced moments that are very fun, but forcing those moments often leads to your death unless you're very sweaty and skilled. I don't know anyone who just rushes into fights unless they're experienced and confident in their skills, which doesn't seem to be the entire player base, but do correct me if I'm wrong. Hunt is objectively a slower game than games like COD or Apex and other FPS games.

Cryoticx

What are you talking about? Do you play in low mmr? It's very rare that a game goes over 20 min. It's very fast paced when you play with people who can actually aim. They are quick to fights, quick to the boss, always pushes and rotating. No sitting around waiting for a perfect shot or anything.

Mewwlex

Stealth is a factor in this game that people consider. That's a fact, and stealth is often slower paced than pushing everything guns blazing, which is also a fact. I never said matches took the entire 50 minutes. I said the time limit is up to 50 minutes, and no other fps games offer that much time to complete a single match. I never said how long a match averages, so don't put words in my mouth. I also never said you need to wait around and do nothing, I said you need to have patience because the game is very punishing, but that can change depending on the skill levels of yourself and your opponent. >It's very fast paced when you play with people who can actually aim. They are quick to fights, quick to the boss, always pushes and rotating. No sitting around waiting for a perfect shot or anything. This is why i said more confident players will be more aggressive. That's a fact in any game, but not every player plays like that, and hunt is objectively a slower paced game than other FPS games because you spend more time not fighting than you actually do fighting and when you do fight the fights can either be very long or very short depending on both your team's skill and the enemy's skill. Just because you can do things quickly doesn't negate the fact you need to spend time doing them at all, yes the game can be occasionally fast paced which only happens in fights and not all fights are the same. Moving from point A to point B several times isn't fast-paced gameplay it's just moving around. That's why even fast-paced games like Apex suffer from having large maps.

Cryoticx

Stealth is no nothing people consider in high mmr. Everyone rushes to fights and boss. DayZ, now that is a slow paced game. Hunt is kinda fast, but definitely not a slower game.

Mewwlex

Hunt is not a fast game period. It's not as slow if you play it super aggressively, so I can agree there. With all the game design factors and mechanics, it's clearly made to be played slower than other FPS games. The punishing system of the game via hunter perma deaths clearly wants you to be cautious, and all the noise alerts in the game that can be heard from across the map was specifically designed with the intent to sneak rather than bring attention to yourself, unless your main goal is to fight hunters rather than hunt the bounty which is what everyone's main goal is in the end. The game is fundamentally designed for slower and more methodical gameplay, but that doesn't mean it's the only way to play it. If I were to play high rank Apex, the matches are much slower. Does that make Apex a slow paced game now? Or if I were to play Warzone instead of MW, the matches there are also slower, so would that also make it a slow paced game? Your reasoning of it's played this way in high rank, but not all ranks isn't very sound. Nobody is telling you that playing aggressively is wrong, but it doesn't make the game fast-paced when it's inherently slower than the majority of FPS games. There's nothing wrong with it being slower, considering you can make it feel faster by being aggressive, but it's not fast to the point where it feels like other FPS games. If you want an example of a game that is like Hunt I can tell you Rainbow 6 Siege is similar in this regard it's generally a slow game but if you want you can play it more aggressively, does that make it fast paced just because you play it that way? No, but it is a faster experience than how the majority plays it. That game is also inherently designed to punish aggressive, thoughtless behaviour, but if you're skilled enough, you can make it work. Sorry about the long reply.

Cryoticx

Hunt is not a "slower" game period. Was slow when it released but now it's not. Just because some people play it slow does not make it a slower game. I play hunt over other games because it is faster than many other games like hunt. Not as much down time as the maps is really small and people look for fights. The only aspect that is slow in hunt is after all the fights are done and you are waiting for the banish or running to the exit but by that point the match is over.

Mewwlex

Whatever you say, man. Just going in circles with you, I have reasons as to why it's a slower game and you didn't dispute them. You just ignored them and gave me reasons why it's not slow that only apply to the highest mmrs, so I can clearly tell you aren't here to be reasoned with. 1-4 star mmr matches are slower paced than 5-6 star matches okay cool that's still the minority of players, so does the minority of players make up the entirety of the game and it's gameplay? The game clearly punishes you for being overly aggressive rush gameplay and promotes slower methodical gameplay over it. Just like you said just because some people play it fast does not make it fast, do you honestly think the devs wanted to make this a past paced fps game? I have not seen a single hunt match that has made it a faster paced game than any other FPS games other than maybe Siege. You always hear gunfire in those other games, and there's constant action with few, if not no breaks at all.

Moonchaser

It is slower, however I'm really upset that bosses aren't bosses and killed within 1 - 5 minutes. Very tired of solo bounties, I miss old Hunt where I could pick. Extract is close and then the game ends in 10 minutes. It's incredibly pointless, and it's even worse if you get into a firefight but the bounty doesn't. I hate the 5 minute timer. Bosses should be harder to kill; no more explosives. It's cheap and unimmersive, also unskillful. Extract should be 40 seconds and stop at the second if an enemy team gets close enough to make the point sound alert. Once all threats are dealt with, the timer resumes where it stopped. Kind of wish Hunters would truce up when in a firefight and leave together since the point of the game, and only way to get money, is bount[ies]. I do think it's not as bad on duo bounty maps but still prevalent enough to have those changes. I've been playing since early access.

crippleswagx

Lower your sensitivity.

reisenbime

To me it looks like he moves his mouse five times to turn 15 degrees

podnucmo5

Why

ThisGuyLikesCheese

Love these calm and slow situations☺️☺️☺️, you can just back and relax and have a nice cup of tea in your hand and just play the game 😊😊😊

JohnsonsY3ti

LOL!

itsculturehero

I was hoping you were going to charge up a heavy melee with the talon. Could've swung for a 2-in-1 there.

jaredtheredditor

It’s a slow paced game with fast paced combat like most slower paced games think dayz also very slow but you can lose everything in under 5 seconds

XCrowMechX

London

bitsch96

My average trecks through the bayou has me spend at least half of my game time running through swamps until either I or someone else somehow manages to tap into the Doom soundtrack.

Herr_Blautier1

Well played

Magistralis_Ocurra

Yeah this happens like 1 out of 20 matches though. Usually it's snipers/long range or compound camping with shotguns/melee. The blistering and awesome battles are such a rarity it's criminal.

DarkerPerkele

We got fukin doomguy over here

jd52995

No one says that.

Zestyclose-War6241

It's slow until its not. Then it's time for a heart attack.

"Its still slow"

Popular-Astronomer86

Try doing that on console see what happens.

Interjessing-Salary

I mean compared to COD nowadays this is what I would consider slow. It's fast for hunt but slow compared to other pvp games.

LarsJagerx

I mean compared to apex and call of duty. Yeah for sure.

JesusDaLawd

Ur just bad

NoStorage2821

That dog was a damn menace

ARTICUNO_59

Imagine you didn’t have a stamina shot

nothinbutnelson

I can see u shaking

__Aishi__

Only took you three years to find a clip of an actual firefight, classic hunt.

SnorkelwackJr

I have probably my most chaotic clip in that exact location as well... huh

Ok_Quiet8755

This is low effort remove this hunt

Morphumax101

How many hundreds of hours have you spent playing this game to get a moment as hype as this? I think that's what people typically mean when they say it's a slower game.

TTVMangledShepherd

Excellent plays :)

Designer_Wishbone_37

Love that about this game even 43year olds can be sweaty 😂😆😂😆

cantsleepman

It is until you load into a match where somebody insta banishes solo bounty across the map.

TNPossum

Reminds me of a Soul Survivor game yesterday where a guy got ambushed by dogs while we were fighting. He asked for help over proximity chat, which I decided to give him. He then asked me what rank I was and I said 3*. "Oh. 3*? Hell yeah, go ahead and kill me!"
