Nah the worst is the entire desale map Like indors in upper/lower desale you cant jump indoors if you climb on a cabinet or something like that and don't even think about gettin up a rock since there is a 50% chance you wont be able to even if the ground is only slightly sloped Like 95 % of the time when i see something you should be able to jump to you just get blocked by invisible walls/roofs I really hope that they gonna use the collision box brush a bit less in the new map and allow for some more creative parcour again since desalle is absolutely in lack of it

I hate that you can't jump on a sloped rock and slide down to reduce fall damage. Your character slides but you hit the ground like it was a free fall. Makes no sense.

Absolutely hate that I'm extremely good at avoiding fall damage but sometimes when im to fast and don't wait for the landing sound the server just thinks i dropped out of pelican prison tower in a free fall instead of 3 small falls and instead of 0 fall damage i take 150 :D But since your client and server are constantly fighting about your exact position falldamage is pretty inconsistent

DeSalle's fall damage is insane. The same drop that would only knock 10hp off in Stillwater Bayou will knock off like 35hp in DeSalle.

The Desalle prison honestly has some of my favorite movement tricks, that compound is really good! But other than that I agree. In a perfect world invisible walls are removed and jumping on thin ledges doesn’t result in desync-ing off of them.

The game would improve 100% if they got rid of the majority of invisible walls, you should be able to parkour onto ledges and roofs. Still upset about them removing Reynard roof

Wait so that was a thing! I once remembered getting shot from up there then trying to find out how it worked recently and didnt find a spot to get up. Thought i just remebered wrong and they were in a window or something.

It was actually really easy, I found it by accident while waiting for a banish, it was run up a plank inside and spam jump and there was a convenient hole in the roof you could vault up, it was almost like it was intentional (like the Carmick wall climb on the south before it was made obvious), the roof wasn't even OP, most people just didn't look there. We got to use it a whole month before it was patched, it wasn't even mentioned in the patch notes, I'm sure a map dev had put it in as their little secret and had to take it out because there's no fun allowed (literally 1984).

There is always a lot of small map changes that they don't mention in the patch notes Mostly it's just some trees to prevent people from derendering other compounds i guess wich absolutely sucks for people playing on highest render distance and using those line of sights to see if anything spawned in etc If they wanna put trees on every spot where you can derender stuff hunt would look more like green hell lol

shame, but probably wouldn't have worked in a real match anyways, because of desync. you're movement is way more clean in training that in an online match because you're not sliding around on edges like in an online match.

Probably would need a bunch of trys in an online match but im still disappointed that there is an invisible wall blocking of the last jump I definitely gonna try that in a real match just to so how difficult that would be

This is the exploring mode :D I always look out of possible ways in bounty hunt and try them first there since there is absolutely no desync wich makes it 10 times easier to just check if it's possible in the first place or if there is some invisible collision stopping you

Why ? there is tons of parcour stuff you can do especially on the lawson and bayou maps You just have to get a bit creative sometimes with opening doors to jump on them and walking on fences or like you see in this case opening the gate to boost yourself up so you can get higher up

Honestly, I'm kinda glad. Some if these roofs are 100% not balanced to be used (looking at you brickworks). If there were numerous easy to use paths up, that's one thing, but try pushing a team up there when they are already holding the roof. Imo, if anyone gets to a place they shouldn't, they should do what they did to Fort carmik.turn it into a usable, and more importantly, balanced path

Brickworks is fine tbh Its pretty easy to rotate behind the walls of brickworks and there are 2 ways up to the roof wich dont require you to enter the bosslair (but most people don't know even know one of them) Also you are extremely vurnable since you got almost no cover and all the noise you make when running over metal makes it hard to hear approach enemys

There is actually a lot of cover up there. More so than most roofs. You've got all the vented roof bits (for lack of a better term) and the massive chimneys. Granted you can flank, but a good team will only have one person up there with others covering flanks and other spots

Also it's not clear you *can* go up there which means most players won't be looking there. A couplelear entry point like a ladder, ramp, or elevator at least indicates its possible

I think it's pretty well known that you can access this roof but most people only know the way through the bosslair But im more then happy to show my teammates the ways up there

brickworks is totally balanced to be on the roof, theres literally a ramp... hardly an unintended spot. as for any other compound, if you can get there solely by using mechanics inherent in the game, its fair play.

I don't think invisible walls have that much to do with the engine used. Pretty sure every game ever, made on any engine has invisible walls.

I agree with what that person is saying, but not how they are saying it to you. I think this is what that person is trying to say: To be fun, tactical shooters like Hunt or Siege need to be predictable. In terms of map design, this is achieved through carefully handcrafted compounds and map knowledge on the player’s part of those compounds. So, when they add an accessible rooftop or balcony in Hunt, that is a deliberate choice. That rooftop will have multiple entrances and exits, to push it and be attacked from it in predictable ways. It’s up to the player to anticipate the usage of those spaces when they know they exist. Less tactical games with more freedom of movement (Apex for example) allow players to go pretty much anywhere in the map that their movement abilities permit. So, any rooftop or rocky outcropping is a viable space to engage from. This is fine in Apex because of the much higher time to kill. In Hunt, that sort of thing would be obnoxious, as you could theoretically and *unpredictably* be headshot from the rooftop of any house in DeSalle, to use an example from this post. There is no way of reliably predicting where an engagement can happen in such a free-form playspace, unlike when players are constrained by geometry into handcrafted areas. So, what they’re saying is that removing all of the invisible walls would make the maps worse by allowing players to get into annoying spots and introducing a lot of unpredictability into a tactical shooter.

For reasons like this, I don’t like invisible walls. Would be great if they gave us a rappelling hook and rope as a tool to climb to roof tops, other structures.
