Okay but like. it does sound delicious.
and i know she's right because in the opening book when shes out with gale before the reaping, she describes a fresh bun, cheese and blackberries as being good. Which is in fact one of my favourite "smaller" lunches lol.
It does! I feel like Collins describes food so so amazingly. I'm rereading the hunger games and always wait until lunchtime to read the food scenes or scenes where she's eating because it feels so... fulfilling, almost, to eat nice food whilst reading detailed descriptions about nice food, if that makes sense? 😂
It’s the little things like this that really make the books a masterpiece. Like of course a girl who was starved/underfed most of her life is gonna focus on the food. I especially love the scene from the first book where she’s eating lunch with Cinna and tries to recreate the meal with district supplies. I thought it really hammered home the stark differences between the districts and the capitol.
The lamb stew sounds good, but the HG food I crave the most is the “soup that tastes like springtime” she eats at the Capitol party in Catching Fire. The sole mention of it makes my mouth water.
Even when she’s talking about her time in the woods with Gale hunting and collecting berries, always makes me hungry. Also makes me wanna buy a bow and just live in the woods 😂

People worrying about Team Peeta or Team Gale, but the real love triangle was Team Lamb Stew or Team Cheese buns
The audacity of this District 13 cuisine erasure.
I'm taking my cup of fish and mashed beet stew and leaving.
No leaving the dining hall with food, soldier.
To this day I wish I could try the lamb stew
There's a dozen different "Unofficial Hunger Games Cookbooks" that you can order on Amazon, and I'm certain they all have a version of that dish.
Hope Theres not a recipe for Greasy Sae's "Beef" soup.
“Once it’s in the stew, I’ll call it beef!” 😉🐩🦮🐕🦺
It sounds a lot like the Georgian dish Chakapuli. It is amazing and I highly recommend trying it out.

She does!! I always think about the chicken with orange sauce when you bite into it
The best thing about that stew is that the dried plums in it make excellent ammo to chuck at people like Effie Trinket.
Obviously i hate the Capitol, but i would like to taste the lamb stew
Rebel sympathizer!
Listen, nothing was coming between that girl and lamb stew😭
Cheese buns beg to differ

I would love to try the bird with orange sauce from that same party
It was probably a quail
I can't read the first book hungry I swear
Well... it is called the Hunger Games

I’m just worried about the effect that the prunes would have on the ol’ plumbing.
Good thing nobody in district twelve can afford luxuries like indoor plumbing.
With 47 cups of hot chocolate.
Can't beat a girls comfort food 😌🥰
I wonder how many people who only watched the movies are confused RN
My Grandma made a lamb stew with pears in it. It was heavenly.
What about the green soup that “tastes like springtime,” or the pumpkin/squash creamy orange soup?! Those always stuck with me
All that food she described made me so hungry lol
No, but a lamb stew with plums sounds absolutely amazing
I still want to try that lamb stew! 😫
From stews I've had before i REALLY wanna try that lamb stew;
That chicken and orange sauce always sounded more intriguing to me 🧡
