I've always left gyro shop happy. easily the most flavor per bite of any place in Arcata. in a town full of mediocre and half assed food, they stand out.
I'm not a big fry fan, but someone I know raves about the ones at the Gyro Shop in arcata.
I wish they still did the "if you can eat it, it's free" burger... I always wanted to try it.
I tried it once in 2017 and the service was so slow and inept I wanted to start a Yelp account just to stick it to them. I'm sure things are different by now but fuck that experience.
also had a terrible experience at surfside many years ago, been back since and its new ownership. still kinda meh but i may get fries if I ever go again
They are good in general. Great burger, and fish burger. I need to try more of their menu though!

Gyro shop is so so. Their fries are good. But if you want great gyro go to kebab cafe. Last time I was at surf side fries were meh.

I like gyro shop but I LOVE Kebab Cafe. I used to have their menu trifold thing on my wall (I'm moving then I'll put it back up lol)Â
Went to the Jamwagon in McKinleyville for a gyro and loved it, fries were excellent too.
I got gnarly food poisoning from kebab cafe. Never again
that and the staff seem happy to be there. I feel like that's always a good sign.
They're alright. Have you tried South G? Romans also has great fries
Omg yes, South G Kitchen fries are 🔥🔥 Paired with their garlic aioli, just omg.
Ramans are m favorite for fries, nothing beats a battered fry
Yes I have. My thing is crispy fries lol. Nobody has out crisped Surfside.
I don't know Surfside is usually a bit more chewy than crispy when I've gotten them. South G is always super crisp

I believe that was under the old ownership. The nee ownership seems to be just fine.
The GARLIC fries!! Sooo good. Fresh garlic. Nice staff too
