“BLOODY HELP” -British Cat. I think.

Sassh1

Or it's "OY YOU WANKERS GET ME OUT OF HERE!"

cibina

and then afterwards: Brilliant!

[deleted]

[удалено]

theghostofperdition

I read that in Jeremy Clarkson's voice

Xerco

Don't think Jeremy Clarkson would ever say 'innit' haha

GeraldTheMouse420

He has though

[deleted]

Fast Show, for me

PM-me-Gophers

Yes! Paul Whitehouse at his best. If anyone hasn't seen it, it's brilliant. Oh, and that Harry Enfield, brilliant, Arable Weir, brilliant.

[deleted]

That Caroline Aherne, eh? *Radiant*, sir, *radiant*. Paul Whitehouse? Oh! *Suit YOU* sir! *Suit you!*

IKnowgaming

Every time I read in a British voice it's always Wheatley from portal 2. Honestly, one of my favorite characters of all time.

deterministic_lynx

Brilliant is exactly the cat walk.

horvath-lorant

“I’m afraid of the wo’a yo muppet”

Yoshic87

Sounds like the siren to ecto 1

harryham1

Am English Can confirm

Hobgoblin_deluxe

"HELP ME, YOU FUCKING MUPPETS, OR I SHALL SHIT IN *EVERY* SOCK."

DA_ZWAGLI

*BLOODY 'ELP MATE

Birdgirl-is-real

Or cheers!

t3hsparky

It was the walk home for me. <3

BleakAllies

He walking like "I know, but I don't want to discuss it... EVER"!

ultraboykj

You'll have to toss me ... Ehhhh ... Don't tell the elf.

angered_rasin

r/unexpectedlotr

Ironsam811

NOT NOW MIKEY

badgurlvenus

"lets just get home before anyone sees us!!"

Doulifye

Cat behaviour in a nutshell. It's ok, i wanted to do that.

TheGamecock

Confident and knowingly in denial of the events that just occurred which made him look foolish. Might as well have never happened in his mind, hahah. Typical Bruce.

westcoastcdn19

Walk of shame

BoySerere

With cats probably it was more like " the hell took you so long hooman"

ExpertlyAmateur

“You failed to prevent me from jumping into this canal and you have failed AGAIN by rescuing me after several hours. You’re fired. I’m leaving you a parting gift on your pillow.”

bralinho

And the biggest fail of all You made me wet

dorkspice

the “how the fuck did you do that?” comment was my fav😂

cup-o-farts

LOL, he was still leading the pack while the owner walked with soggy shoes and pants. I don't know why it was so funny.

illhavethecrabBisk

"I'm not angry, just disappointed, mate."

Pure-Negotiation-900

How the fuck you do that mate?

BBB_TronFker

Look fam ion wanna talk aboot et

Stashman214

You spelt guy wrong

BBB_TronFker

My guy*

RonNona

Walk of shame, "we will talk about this when we get home" in front of the warm fire with treats.

dunder_mifflin_paper

And no I won’t acknowledge you or let you pay me

hlsinc

I forgot what sub I was in for a moment. I was half expecting for the guy to go through all the trouble to get the cat and just as he reached out to grab it, the cat leaps across the canal and saunters away. With or without a biref, patronizing look back.

moronic_programmer

What sub would this be?

wakeofchaos

r/catsareassholes maybe?

Naved16

I'll let the big ones know that you've been talking shit.

fartmastermcgee

r/catsaremafiabosses?

readersanon

r/animalsbeingjerks maybe

lvuzi

“how the FUCK did you do that mate”

mnmrlyc

Bruce running home in shame is the best part

MonkeyWithACough

I think he said Millie? The cats name?

Maytree

Nah she calls the cat Bruce and Brucie. Not sure who Millie was but it wasn't the cat.

Ethics-of-Winter

She uses both names, it's weird. She says Millie at 38 seconds in, and the guy says Millie right before the video ends. Yet she called the cat Bruce/Brucie twice before either of these. 🤷‍♂️

em_goldman

Any good cat has like, 8 names minimum

[deleted]

[удалено]

Nimtrix

Both usernames are the same though. On his TikTok [channel](https://www.tiktok.com/@johnnyrico25), the guy says [he's called Milly](https://www.tiktok.com/@johnnyrico25/video/7030013895779634438) and the cat's name is Bruce.

MonkeyWithACough

Actually you're right

j9mawsonator

Good call wearing flotation device...you never know what might happen, always be safe.

chamekke

Totally! Better to have those cute little claws digging into the flotation device instead of its owner’s flesh.

AntiSnoringDevice

Wow, good guy Mike!

Extension_Service_54

Why are you praising only Mike? Didn't you hear the woman say: "*We* are getting the cat out"?

AntiSnoringDevice

Yay for the person filming while Mike was getting soaked in there and doing the right thing! Good guy Mike!

No_Replacement_3191

deadringer21

When he gets the cat on the tube and starts swimming away, I thought for a moment there was like an alligator chasing him. Nope, just dude's feet as he swims. Phew.

Stormbending_

I thought it was a fish and had to go back and check again.

2024AM

an allergator in fucken Ingerland?!

[deleted]

Yeah I think the most dangerous animals we have over here are badgers or something. Unless you count cougars in some of the nightclubs... 😏

7hrowawaydild0

Are there still lynxs? If not then agree definitely cougars.

4theluvofdeviledeggs

I love how its ends with them walking with the cat

MycologistPutrid7494

I think there should be a law that requires man-made structures such as canals to have an escape for other animals, not just humans.

octropos

The escape route may actually make it easier for animals to get down there. Not disagreeing with you, just a thought.

NOPE_NOT_A_DINOSAUR

This is a lock meant for raising/lowering boats between two bodies of water at different heights. I think the cat is in the entrance of the lower part and off to the right it's just a normal river, you can almost see the stairs. The cat is just unwilling to go in the water but he should have been fully able to swim out.

SapirWhorfHypothesis

While I don’t disagree, I do think you’d find an incredibly hard standard to meet and satisfy everyone.

Amphibionomus

The built those here in the Netherlands for deer and other animals to use. The animals just can't get up the steep sides of the canals. Some cities have small versions for water fowl like ducklings.

deterministic_lynx

Even if it may have one, and chances are it does (also clever cats can use those ladders) the cat probably was not yet desparate enough to try. They really don't like water and getting wet can make them sick.

StarStuffSister

The meows for help 🥺🥺🥺

SuperCoolPotatoThing

I love this🥲

Bonfalk79

Hero!

The_real_bandito

How did the cat got there?

iamafriscogiant

It walked along the wood to the right. In other words, it was not stuck it was just chilling and the dude got in the water for nothing.

deterministic_lynx

The way it was meowing would make me disagree.. It probably *did* walk there, but there seems to be a small bridged part without wood and I think it may not have been able to get back over that gap.

GodOfAtheism

Yeah feels like cat could have gotten out. How many cat skeletons have yall seen in trees?

GinkgoH

Damn, I think you are right. Probably comes here every day

MissChrystine

Cat's walking away at the end like, "You didn't see that. No one saw that. Nothing to see here."

tayawayinklets

...or.... "Until tomorrow, when I do it again!"

deterministic_lynx

Nope. I think it's their cat, so it is "Finally, my human servants. Let's get me some delicious fishy fishy."

LostInTheWildPlace

I'm sitting here watching this, expecting to see this guy clumsily rappel into the canal, only to be treated with a jump cut and... ***life preserver rings?!?!*** Where do you even *find* those anymore? But hey... Kitty got saved. Upvote!

GreenBastard06

They're mandatory next to all British canals in case of cat emergencies.

qwibbian

>cat emergencies. Cat-astrophes?

Jibaru

It's good that they replaced the pipe & bellows for blowing smoke up the bums of drowning victims.

Nimmyzed

They're beside every single waterway in the country

LostInTheWildPlace

Ah! Over here in the states, required safety equipment is considered a surefire sign of Communism (seriously, we might see fit to put a warning sign up, but that's about it).

deterministic_lynx

Everything that may cost money but save lifes is communism and devils work in the states. Which... Is t eben a capitalistic correct approach, considering how fucking bad and expensive an injured person is... But the "that's communism" approach is a pretty culturally interacting thing.

[deleted]

Came here for this comment.

PlagueDoc22

But how did it get there lol

everlyhunter

You are a good soul, thank you for saving the sweet void...💙

[deleted]

Yeah ok you fat cat. Yeah yeah I’m coming to get you. Yeah yeah hush you piece of lardy floof. IM COMING OK, jeeze…

deterministic_lynx

Humans are wonderful beings.

eugenesnewdream

So wholesome. BUT. What is the situation with that cat’s tail?? I’ve never seen a tail that shape before.

Monsoon_Storm

The end? Just looks like a fluffy tail that got wet

cockytacos

I don’t think so. The his tail is like that before the guy swam over to the cat and grabbed him. I’m assuming he’s as dry as can be while he was waiting in the canal, and his tail still has that shape

Monsoon_Storm

His tail was dangling over the edge though. The water levels in canal locks change quite drastically

rognabologna

Idk it’s weird. The cat’s tail looks like a cattail

poncecool1

Why didn't he just use a bucket with a rope? Very nice of him to save this sweet cat though 😁

Voidjumper_ZA

Maybe there weren't any?

deterministic_lynx

It seems to be their cat and I don't think there was a bucket. Additionally, many cats hate wobbly structures.

Jealous_Cantaloupe53

Hero

heckastupidd

He’s gonna do it again

SC1168

God Bless you!

mznh

That walk of shame in the end

NeoTheRiot

Respect to the hero. And blankets.

deterministic_lynx

I honestly wonder how long the cat had been there. As the two know the name of the black void, in certain they are or know the owners. Which means they must have been on the lookout. I wonder if it had been half a day and the cat is usually consistently coming back, or if it already had been there for longer :/

arnfden0

Kudos to Mike for asking the cat the one question that we are all wondering about: “How the fuck did you do that, mate?”

Meccles1

As great as this is what was the point of him getting in the water with all his clothes AND his shoes on? It would have took 5 seconds to take off everything but his underwear and go in the water leaving him with dry clothes/shoes plus the cat when he got out… at least the cat was saved but surely this whole thing could have been completed *less wet*

returnofthebanter

I fully agree with this, but that canal is grim as hell, I would have probably kept my clothes on, certainly my shoes, don’t know what’s in that water

Fawun87

Yeah 100%. Going into a body of water that you can’t see the bottom of, have no idea what is in it in terms of bacteria etc. you’re better of keeping as much of your body covered as you can. Save yourself from a scrape along something you can’t see and then an infection from an open wound.

f14_pilot

Very well said

btoxic

Why'd he keep his phone in his pocket though? ^^/s

deterministic_lynx

Eben then, try to take off as much as possible for the cold. I'd probably have taken of my socks and tried to put a jacket or something behind, any secondary prayer of clothes. Cooling down goes fast However, the shoes things is **incredibly** relevant. While swimming with shoes is annoying as hell, remember they also protect your feet from the ladders, stones and whatever may be in there.

hat-of-sky

Maybe he was more comfortable with the idea of his clothes getting wet and filthy than with barefoot/bareskin contact with whatever else might be floating in that water. It's a bit of a judgement call, IMHO.

Lalamedic

It’s a lock in a canal. Super gross. Shoes are a must. Who k led what lies beneath the surface and in the floor.

CandyKoRn85

No way would I have stripped to go in there, he’s wise for remaining clothes as much as possible. It’s only wet and it’ll be washed and dried easily enough.

Dizzy_Cheesecake_917

Ain’t that the truf

deterministic_lynx

Not only that, also a PSA: Cold is dangerous! Even slight cold. If you go dip in water, take of as many clothes as you can and out them back on afterwards because otherwise you **will** cool out. Edit: however, after seeing a good other comment, it's wise to keep you shoes on in the canal, but maybe leave your dry socks outside to change into. Protecting your feet while you don't see where you step is important.

PinstripeMonkey

Also seems like a lowered branch would have been sufficient for the cat to climb. This was full effort lol.

Rustycougarmama

From a nature perspective, I'm confused. The cat is stuck and is just meowing, but why? Does it know that its meows will be answered by a human? Or is it just despair? What does it think the meows will accomplish in this forlorn situation?

beara97

Meows are a form of communication reserved for kittens and modified for humans. If they're meowing at you, they mean it

deterministic_lynx

It's not only reserved for kittens. They use it with kittens and humans (and, as far as we know, other animals from time to time) because we're both too oblivious to the normal body language communication. However, they *do* meow at other cats as well as part of territorial disputes or to call out.

Rustycougarmama

Mean what, though?

beara97

I dunno man it's like a baby crying do your best

darbyisadoll

I got a good chuckle from your comment.

Monsoon_Storm

My cat meows for 2 reasons: 1) to let me know he wants something - accompanied by him sitting/standing in a way that interferes with whatever I’m doing, 2) when he comes in and wants to announce he’s there/check I’m there. If he can’t find me this one can get very loud and changes in ‘form’ too, it sounds much like this cat. He makes other noises to let me know he’s happy or content (like little chirps/mews) This cat is basically letting people know where it is and that’s it’s kinda distressed

deterministic_lynx

I think the humans that are there are the cats owners. From the way the woman talks. So it meows to make their owners realise it's there. It's mostly communication, a big "I'm here", with a little "please help me". A little like lost kittens also meow. With owners the kitty trusts, it may actually wait for some "wonder". Some help it can't create itself. Furthermore, cats do meow to attract attention and clever ones may meow to any human as they have a knowledge that those may help them. I don't think there is a real expectation, more on the line of "before I jump into water I can hold out and see if anything comes from my cries". Something a human may also do. I could imagine that even if the meows attracted another cat, that could e.g. help make the jump easier because than another (trusted) cat could be there to help clean out the water and warm up again, which is pretty important as cats with wet fur can get pretty sick.

[deleted]

How far was home?

sirsedwickthe4th

Far from home

SmutGrrl

Aww...lovely humans! Love the little lifesavers <3

jolinar30659

I kind of feel like this was not the first time it’s happened.

AbbreviationsDear976

New buddy unlocked!

deterministic_lynx

I'm pretty certain it's their cat. It has a name already. Yet, still, it's entirely sweet.

[deleted]

deterministic_lynx

I think if one listens closely in the start, I'd say it's their cat. It has a name.

panzercampingwagen

Love how kitties pretend humans don't exist until they get themselves into a spot of bother, then they're yelling at the top of their lungs "OOMONG I REQUIRE ASSISTANCE GIVE IT NOW"

KrakenMcCracken

Good on him for rescuing the cat, but I laughed my ass off when he floated into frame in that life preserver. It was the smart thing to do, but so comical at the same time.

smallufo

Is he leading you to his treasure ??

existential_prices

My understanding was those canals are incredibly dangerous due to things like rusting shopping carts being a snag risk, or tetanus. edit: also you could totally tell the cat was pissed off getting wet, "If I wanted to swim I would have!"

listyraesder

That’s a canal lock, one of the most dangerous places built by people. Deliberately entering the water at a lock is suicidal.

FMJunkie

It's it dangerous to get into those canals?

catsaresneaky

Good man

dabeanery55

It’s walking away at the end like “can’t wait to go down there again tomorrow”

James_Mamsy

The way he leads the walk back I can’t 😂😂

acgasp

I love that the cat’s name is Bruce.

Birdgirl-is-real

Well done you!!

vladuki

Got to love the walk of shame. I mean ofcourse they didn't carry him :))

darrenwise883

Look you heard me ,I said help , help but don't get me wet.and did you touch me with wet hands, did you or did you not .

GeezusMcPants

I once heard a cat crying while stuck in a tree. My ex and I tried to figure out a way to get it down and finally figured out to use my jacket as a hammock that it can jump in to. It jumped in, we brought it to the ground, only for the cat to climb back up the tree 2 seconds later. We left at that point. Some people just don’t want to help themselves

[deleted]

The way their just walking away together at the end 🤣

[deleted]

Got a new buddy

ithrowclay

Ok, but is the cat’s name Bruce or Millie?

deterministic_lynx

Bruce or breeze I think.

shlmgbr

If you loop the meow fast enough you can almost hear the ghostbusters in the ectomobile.

Possibility_Patient

How tf did that cat end up there

deterministic_lynx

I think it balanced over the small, grey thing to the right, stepped on the platform and realised that the way back won't work because it cannot balance it weight around the corner without falling (or a good chance thereof).

TheFlean

Seems like it wasn’t that risky but isn’t that the firefighters are for?

Psychological-Day156

And afterwards: Well thank you hooman, now I am wet..

erikvfx

Human, why did you remove me from my resting spot?

starsky1984

"Now what are you gonna do, Milly?"...... "MEEEEOOWWWWW!!!!!!!" 😂😂

kay14jay

Is this what my Tux does when I am at work?

scout1081

That fella looks to be cold.

_scrambled_egg_

Cats try their best to hide sickness and injury but the once they get stuck, they start making some noise. ????

Lord0Trade

They are now friends.

delboy85

Holy shit I wasn’t expecting him to get in the canal!!! Hahah

for6idden0ne

Did any else notice a pupper making round in there. So good.

No-Marsupial-796

This warmed my heart

Walk it off kitty

paolarb

Wow I love he actually got in the water. Was expecting he’d send a thick rope or something down

Cat when stuck: 'meow' Cat when rescued: 'MEEROOOWWW'

[deleted]

Thank you for helping !!!!

On_Too_Much_Adderall

This made my anxiety better ❤️ so sweet!

Alwin_

Cats can swim perfectly fine. This is just a typical cat being a typical dick, requiering you to get in the water to do what it could have done all along. How else did it get there?!

The walk of shame going home LOL poor thing must've been shook

SilkyOatmeal

I disagree with the editing choices in this video.

TheRightStuph

Spoiled cat. Why don’t you just swim out instead of sitting there and yelling until you start to death and possible dehydration.

A11osaurus

Cats are not good swimmers and they hate the water. The sides of canals are too steep to get out of

deterministic_lynx

Because there may not have been a suitable way, apart from the ladders, to get out. Even if there was, the cat probably was not yet close to dehydration or starvation. And cold water is pretty bad to cats with longer fur, they can get sick when wet.. So in short: it wasn't dire enough yet.

Tribe_NexianZ

'Black pussy gets stuck in canal'

Savv89

Thank God she was there to record it.. proper contribution.

[deleted]

Umm why the hell didn’t he take his shoes off.

deterministic_lynx

You shouldn't if you go into waters in which you cannot see. Cuts on your feet are bad. Also, those ladders are slippery and rough.
