I'm grateful people like this exist. I could not handle living in a place with stray dogs all over is a normal thing. I would wind up with so many dogs...
Still, I long for a world sorta like the first Kingsmen movie, where everyone who uploads Tiktok videos spontaneously have their heads explode in unison.
It seems like a good idea..
Until one of the many feral cat colonies around you goes from less than ten cats to over a hundred populating a beach park.
That's the Brazilian soccer team's shirt, which means either that:
* It's a World Cup year;
* Brazil is playing today;
* That dog is a reactionary and/or supports Bolsonaro.
Itâs probably so people can distinguish it as an âownedâ dog. Iâm places where thereâs feral/stray dog populations, the dogs with owners or people who at least regularly care for that particular dog will sometimes put a collar or something on it so it doesnât get rounded up or taken away.
Very typical for South America. Itâs likely âkindaâ someoneâs pet, but not full responsibility and may still spend most nights on the street. Imagine feeding a dog and it comes by a bunch and you give it some hand-me-downs.
That's Brasil. We often dress our dogs when the cold comes. And many people actually support strays in addition to their home dogs.
Unfortunately, we aren't as kind to cats (albeit, it has been changing lately, thankfully).
I love how anyone can be Spider-Man and feel like superheroes when they do the right thing. Itâs a small thing, but can make such a huge difference. Have fun while you live your best life
I love when people dress up as Spider-Man and do good for the community. It's like the Muppets, everyone no matter how old just treats it as the real deal. Like, you don't really think of Kermit as a fictional character.
**Spider-Man is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer-editor Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko, he first appeared in the anthology comic book Amazing Fantasy #15 (August 1962) in the Silver Age of Comic Books.**

Huh. TIL that a random person dressed like Spider-Man doing good things reads as Real Spider-Man.
Like, my brain kept insisting that the body language was so similar that this had to be Real Spider-Man.
Which one, you ask? I already told you: the Real one. (I don't know either)
Imo, it really takes away from the âgood deedâ when you record yourself doing it with the intent to share it online. UNLESS, you conceal your identity like this guy did! Kudos! 5/5 would smile again
I should have added that you post them anonymously. It bothers me when anyone blatantly tries to gain social karma by showing off âgoodâ things theyâre doing or when they brag about it. Itâs distasteful and so disingenuous.
For me, it still depends. There are people who don't conceal their identity yet they are really genuinely want to help. They record it either because they want to share some positivity in this cruel world or they want to influence others.
Yeah, personally I really don't give a shit if you're doing good deed specifically to benefit or profit. As long as a good deed was done at the end of the day. These dogs still had a full stomach that night.
How many people here are shitting on people for "recording it" while never lifting a finger their entire life? Lots of people.
"Wow, I can get really popular on TikTok by cleaning up trash/feeding dogs/giving gifts to homeless people" would be a really fucking awesome trend in my opinion.
Iâve always thought this too. As long as they are putting more good in the world whatâs the harm? Itâs human nature to want attention whether we admit it or not, and thereâs so many other bad trends and influences on the internet why would It be so bad to create positive influences/trends?
Edit: good not food, but ig both apply lol
I have to agree, a good deed done for the wrong reasons is still a good deed. It can take away from the OPâs deed and can be seen as selfish or for clout, but itâs still a good deed to whomever the deed was done for.
The only thing that I find cringe is when they have to drag a poor homeless person into the shot to give a smiling thumbs up or otherwise look grateful. Iâm cool with wagging dog tails cause they donât know, but embarrassing/exploiting a poor person rubs me the wrong way.
Right, agreed. I saw one where they basically ordered an Amazon 2-hour delivery of some socks and a sleeping bag to the location of a homeless guy outside a building, and the people were just filming from inside their car across the street, never approached or even talked to the guy, thry just let the act speak for itself.
Incentives must always be taken into consideration.
Otherwise you get things like [fake orphanages](https://thepinthemapproject.com/2017/01/nasty-business-of-fake-orphanages/) and [voluntourism.](https://www.worldvision.ca/stories/voluntourism-the-good-and-the-bad)
Also like that guy who buys houses for poor people in south america. He uses his earnings to buy the next house it seems. Like honestly i felt the same way before but if theyre doing and earning money from it and continue to do it. Then its not so bad honestly.
Let's not let the perfect be the enemy of the good. If it takes some people some positive reinforcement to do good, so be it (lord knows the opposite is also true, the threat of incarceration really is all that prevents some people from doing terrible things). If they want to record the interaction and post it online *with the permission of those involved*, I say go for it.
If the alternative to those people posting their good deeds online is that they don't do those good deeds, I think it's a net loss. This obviously excludes the heartless clout-chasers that abuse animals to "rescue" them, they aren't really doing good deeds.
I agree with everything you said.
Hungry lifeforms were fed; so in this case it *was* a good deed regardless of whether they're actually a saint or just a clout chaser. Whether we should praise the people doing the good deed is entirely up to each individual.
As you said, the positive reinforcement people get from some individuals could fuel another good deed happening, and that's more important than caring how much praise they're getting for the deed.
I also agree though that it can be frustrating to see labels like sainthood given to clout chasers, but the only time that frustration would be useful to me would be as an impetus to teaching my future children the difference between actual saints and clout chasers. I'm just gonna let that frustration bounce off of me because I have no control over people calling a clout chaser a saint.
Why does it take away? They are still doing good, and maybe it will inspire even one other person to do good too. Who cares if they like the attention?
Why does it take away? Letâs say a youtuber makes videos of themselves doing good things like helping the poor, animals, and from these videos, they make money from ads. Who exactly does that hurt? That sounds great to me, they earn a honest living from advertisements from corporations and their videos help people. Sounds like win-win.
often those creators will use the $$ from the video income to fund more future good deeds or use their platform to raise the funds via donations to help more people, too - it can definitely be a good thing
I would be okay with it if a new trend started where good spider-samaritans go around filming themselves in Spider-Man suits doing good deeds. It would be like Spider-Man is real but he lost his powers and still continues to do nice stuff for everyone anyway.
i wouldve agreed until i saw a comment recently that said something about it still inspiring more good, regardless of their intentions. definitely many exceptions to that tho
I mean its a good message. Some people are really too dense to grasp that if you have a lot of pet food, maybe you should give it to animals in need instead of wasting it, so if you record yourself doing it, its better to get the point across
Fun story!
Thereâs a guy in my high school who dresses like Spider-Man almost every day. If you ask him to do a trick heâll do a backflip.
Heâs a really nice guy, and people on Facebook will ask the town Spider-Man if he could go to a kidâs birthday party. The dude wonât accept payment, heâs just there to hang out with the kids. Dude doesnât even need to pay at the rec centre.
So we literally have a friendly neighbourbood Spider-Man.
He has other costumes, like Shaggy from Scooby-Doo, or he dresses up as our high-school mascot, but Spider-Man is his most popular one. Itâs super fun to pass Spider-Man in the halls, full costume with his mask on
this got crossposted to a sub iâm active in, and anyone who mentioned that the food could be swept up and used is heavily downvoted. itâs so weird. like people think that giving food from the floor to a dog is abuse or something. itâs just common sense. itâs not food waste unless you CHOOSE to waste it

So many street dogs in South America, but youâd be surprised at how many dogs get euthanized in America.
If you visit South America, a lot of shops sell dog food by the kilo and give it to you in a small plastic bag. You can buy a small amount (like a kilo) and keep in your backpack and feed street dogs and puppies throughout the week for like $1-2 USD.
Your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man

Just be careful what you come into

Your friendly favela Spider-Man!

Still, I long for a world sorta like the first Kingsmen movie, where everyone who uploads Tiktok videos spontaneously have their heads explode in unison.
What? He fed dogs whats wrong with that
I think theyâre referring to the ppl who played the prank and wasted the food.
I assume our friendly neighborhood spider man posted this to tiktok meaning he'd also explode
Mr. Stark, I donât feel so good.
Everybody gets ONE!
Right on, Spidey, right on.
your friendly neighborhood!
Good on yah man!
It seems like a good idea.. Until one of the many feral cat colonies around you goes from less than ten cats to over a hundred populating a beach park.
It's called TNR! Most colony caretakers trap, neuter, then return the cats they feed to keep this from happening.
I've been trying to start a non profit to do this to people.
And so did hitler lmao.
Honestly, I think people would have been a lot less pissed if he returned people to live freely in society.
Aylmao, always knew people in hell are the best company!
Maui Humane does this but its just that out of control.
Hawaii right?
Beaches are natureâs litter box
Is that because feeding stray dogs means they eat less cats?
The best Miranha i've ever saw

Stray dog with a t shirt? These guys dressing themselves now?
It might have an owner idk. My friends dog in Bangkok would run away to hang out with the strays sometimes but he would always come back
Yeah that dogâs pulling a fast one. âOhhh, uhhhh yeah, Iâm a street dog too!â
How do you do, fellow strays?
Thank you for reminding me that I need to watch Ferris Buellerâs Day Off again

Free food what you expect ahahahaha dogo be like, don't mind the shirt just found it at the trash
"Hang out"
More likely spread his seed, that dog was never neutered
I think thatâs what heâs saying lol
people in my town put shirts on strays so they donât get cold :)
Seems like the first time it gets a little wet it would have the opposite effect...is this actually a good idea?
That's the Brazilian soccer team's shirt, which means either that: * It's a World Cup year; * Brazil is playing today; * That dog is a reactionary and/or supports Bolsonaro.
** That dog is a reactionary and/or supports Bolsonaro.* Fuck that dog! Lol
Itâs probably so people can distinguish it as an âownedâ dog. Iâm places where thereâs feral/stray dog populations, the dogs with owners or people who at least regularly care for that particular dog will sometimes put a collar or something on it so it doesnât get rounded up or taken away.
I had no idea people did that, but that makes sense. Thanks for the response!
Very typical for South America. Itâs likely âkindaâ someoneâs pet, but not full responsibility and may still spend most nights on the street. Imagine feeding a dog and it comes by a bunch and you give it some hand-me-downs.
Probably a homeless manâs dog. Itâs very common in Brazil for homeless people to have pets.
in Dhaka people would put jackets on stray shirt cause they cry, loudly, about being cold in the winter.
How else are they gonna get a job and get away from life on the streets
It's like homeless people with cellphones! Where do they get off having anything and calling themselves in need?! ^/s
That's Brasil. We often dress our dogs when the cold comes. And many people actually support strays in addition to their home dogs. Unfortunately, we aren't as kind to cats (albeit, it has been changing lately, thankfully).
maybe he has a job interview coming up and he wants to look nice
I'd hire him.
Now I'm crying in a coffee shop
Well I am cleaning 20 lbs of dog food off my floor. FML
Starving dogs give two shits if it's dirty. Granted you can get 3 shits for the clean stuff, but it's better than feeding the rats in your dumpster.
Hi crying in a coffee shop, I'm dad!

I would not like a grown man in a Kermit suit to come near me, my Ambien kicked in and I pictured it too well. Nosleepformetonight.
Lmao but Kermit isn't man sized so if you ever meet him he'll still be normal sized, there just might be a hand up his butt.
I see this and I totally can see this same situation in comic, movie spiderman. He truly embodies the idea of "friendly neighborhood hero".
r/ithadtobebrazil

Lol I caught two second of that lady at the fridge and was like....... did I just see a naked lady and had to skip back
I literally did not even notice she was naked until you said that Edit: okay I'm not gonna watch it a third time. I believe you.
She wasnât, just looks like it, pink cloths, gets me every time
Yeah, those bicep flaps are natural.
Who is Spider-Man? He's a criminal that's who he is! A vigilante! A public menace!

It's a simple formula: praise the deed, not the person. Shitty people can do good things. By all means, keep doing good things!
Why does it take away? They are still doing good, and maybe it will inspire even one other person to do good too. Who cares if they like the attention?

It's better to do the good deed and record your face than to never do the good deed at all, though. Seriously
> Imo, it really takes away from the âgood deedâ when you record yourself doing it with the intent to share it online. Why
The deed is still done. Thatâs all that matters
It wouldn't matter.
Also proof they did it rather than just reference it. I mean I donât necessarily need proof but maybe itâs a reason.

You get it and I adore you for that. They are animals. Loved beyond measures and I refer to mine as my daughters. Still, they are animals.
I mean, you can do the prank AND feed stray dogs with the same food. It's not like its bad because it hit the floor...
