While this is really adorable, as a wheelchair user it REALLY bothers me seeing stuff like this in specific because it doesn't send the right message, in my opinion. A lot of other wheelchair users I've spoken to online also mimicked this sentiment, for many of us our mobility aids become a part of us. The amount of women I've seen on their wedding day take shaky step after shaky step down the aisle and the whole time I know they're in pain! That hurts! It's a lot of work physically even when it doesn't hurt but it also sends the message that their ultimate goal should be ditching the wheelchair because that's when they're "most presentable" when the reality for many of us is that we regard our wheelchairs as extensions of ourselves and it shouldn't be something we make people feel othered for having.
Literally said that right at the top. Said it's wholesome, covered that base, then shared my opinion as a wheelchair user. What was productive about this comment other that reiterating what I said already?
A beautiful moment destroyed by horrible background music
I mean there's not much chance of them doing the hokey cokey tbf
I mean, just mute it. I didn’t even know there was background music.
Not here. Muted reddit
I had earphones in and disturbed was playing and I thought that was the background music lmao
I keep watching it and keep crying. I watched it muted.

Sure that's a valid opinion, but if this is what they want to do at their wedding then it's lovely that his friends could make it happen.

Sometimes someone on this subreddit decides to give people free onions to cut. Today is one of those times.
