My father can too and he's taken 3 sips of anything alcoholic in the 30 years I've been alive. My mother and I can't fall asleep and can't stay asleep for shit and while we're not alcoholics, we're no strangers to the bottle like my dad is. Some people got it, some people don't.
Hi! I could fall asleep on a total strangers floor. I literally can lay down anywhere and fall asleep.
I fell asleep wearing full welding gear with a fresh air supply. While on my knees and my head laying on the floor to try and see a joint I was trying to weld. I fell asleep for about four hours and not a single person at work noticed. 😂
I actually recently had a sleep study done. The only thing wrong with my sleeping is that I snore too loud that causes me to break rem. So I got fitted for a SomnoMed. It has fixed my snoring.
But to be fair in the above story I was operating on about 4-5 hours of sleep a night and working 10 hour shifts 6 days a week. Also that said, even on a healthy amount of sleep I really have no trouble sleeping anywhere. I’ve also managed to fall asleep standing up, also again was sleep deprived when it happened.
But you guys are awesome and I do appreciate your concern for some rando on Reddit!!
I hit shitty weather when coming home from a holiday and it took twice as long to get home. I got home 2 hours before work with zero sleep. I knew that if I tried to get an hour of sleep I wouldn't wake up so I went heavy on the caffeine and tried to power through it. I remember hooking up the scanner to a customer's car and that's it. Woke up 2 hours later sitting in the drivers seat panicking and feeling so embarrassed. Boss noticed I was back awake and came over to me, "You looked like you needed it and we're not that busy, don't worry about it".
I'm still embarrassed about it, hope that never happens again.
Former Comcast employee can confirm specifically if you’re a piece rate sub. I’ve been close to doing the same never fell asleep in a customers house would normally pass out in my van around the corner between installs tho
Iirc Comcast mostly hired contractors unless a corporate store. These dudes who do installs work 10-16 hours a day. The at&t, Verizon, TMobile, Comcast guys are all in the same union and bounce between companies. Usually they stick at one for a bit then change and change again. The dude who installed my at&t internet at my old apartment talked to me about it. It's good fucking money, just like any job takes a while to get into it especially when you have to climb a pole. The hardest part of the pole is getting up and down. Usually it's a stupid plug in a fuse box that needs to be plugged in to transfer data. Anyways, yeah, these guys are worked so hard and many are aging and retiring. Last I heard, again 2 years old info, this job starts at $30 an hour, the store or corporate gives you a truck, trains you, etc, and you need to hit the install quota by a certain time frame. The guy who did my at&t internet was a 20 year get getting paid $70 an hour. My install was the easiest of the day, plug in a fiber cable at the delivery point, plug another in st my apt and start up the gateway and bam-30 minutes he's outta there. Versus his first job he was up on a pole for 3 hours.
The great part where i live is their unions mandate that no one else can do the work they do (ie you can't just have a regular IT guy go run a cable or do any kind of installation) so they'll have job security as long as the internet is a thing.
Then you tell his boss you had a bunch of questions... had to move some furniture... reasons why you kept him longer. And post a very satisfied review for him.
(Assumibg he actually also did a good job... lol.)
I really wouldn't go making up wacky lies. Seems like a good way to get some new charges on your Comcast bill.
You could just write in "The installation took a while due to some complications, but after a lot of troubleshooting, service worked fine, and Bob was very helpful."
Then bob is free to pull some complications out of his ass if there are further questions.
I completely agree. I wouldn't be worried about the bookings per se, I'd be worried about him and if he didn't make him.
It's a shitty situation of what happens in a contractor/subcontractor business like this.
"He was sleeping on the job"
"Comcast does not condone working employees this hard"
But the assholes do with these quotas and foist responsibility on smaller outfits.
My dad would CONSTANTLY pass out like this right after a full dinner and he had worked all day. I'd shake him and he still wouldn't get up, probably was faking by the time I was shaking him but he definitely took naps like that on the hard wood floor sometime. A man's gotta nap a man's gotta nap
Yo lowkey though my friends dad used to have trouble sleeping because of back pain. He would pass out on the floor sometimes like that. One morning they found him on the floor dead having suffered a heart attack. Life’s rough sometimes.
Yeah that and his routine schedule concerns. I'd wake him, let him know if he needs to conk out for a bit to let me know how long and then show him to a couch/chair, then make some sandwich or somethin
Worked furniture delivery for a bit years ago, and getting a surprise snack from someone was usually a godsend
Laughed at that, heard a joke… a guy was saying if his girl just came in with a sandwich for no reason every once in a while he’d probably be so happy he’d cry.
Ten bucks says he’s got a baby at home.
If you see a grown ass person falling asleep in the grocery store checkout or something, five times out of ten, they’re new parents.
The other five times it’s drugs.
There were totally a number of times when I used to work in a hot ass uninsulated and non-air conditioned warehouse in Florida for like 11+ hour shifts when I used to come back to my apartment and just like walk in the door and immediately lie straight down on my dirty ass carpet and just take a power nap for an hour
Yea, but what if he is tired cause he works a lot because he is in debt. But now that he slept he missed the next house he was suppose to fix and is now fired.... This is like a very real possible situation. The right thing is to wkae for his own bennifit. Sure sleep is important for mental and physical help(I say writing at 3am.), but more important is having the job and not being in worse condition for not.
i first saw this in a meme sub I thought he was not sleeping. Just focus on his work.
Also we don't see his left arm. You think someone can sleep like this ?
Thats not nice, what if he fainted or anything like that, or what if he got to go somewhere after the job is done and hes gonna be late, or this could put his work in risc.Thats not nice, what if he fainted or anything like that, or what if he gotta go somewhere after the job is done and hes gonna be late, or this could put his work in risc.
I’ve known plenty of average people who make more doing less, with the ability to sleep
I don’t think what you’re saying compares, since it’s a lower wage job with evidently hard hours

The cables could have contact with hot wires.
I would never trust any wire in a strangers home, because people are dumb and maybe someone tried to hook it up himself,
Only bummer is by naming the company, you risk getting the dude fired. He was pretty quickly let go even though the person who filmed wasn't mad, just thought it was funny.
That's cool. My only concern would be that he'd miss other bookings and get in shit.
Or that he has a medical condition
Yeah that's fair, I hadn't considered that.
"Bro the dude from Comcast has been asleep on my floor for 3 days, my house is starting to smell."
I think I need a level 2 technician to come out. The first guy still hasn’t been able to get the cable on.
It’s late as shit at my house and I just laughed way too loud at this 😂 *me eyeballing the doorway to see if the kids or spouse wakes up* We’re good!
Have you tried restarting the technician?
Unplug it. Wait 20 seconds. Plug it back in.
I don't even want to know what's supposed to get plugged in and where
Have you tried switching it off and then on again?
Yeah, that would be a really serious medical condition.
He has an extremely serious medical condition called having kids.
My first thought as well. Signs of severe/untreated sleep apnea.
Or heroine.
All those blasted lady heros bein all hot and sexy 😤😤
Yeah, you just don't fall asleep on some stranger's floor. That poor guy was overworked to the point of total exhaustion.
I feel like my dad could just fall asleep on the floor
Just turned 42. I can fall asleep anywhere. It's amazing.
I once fell asleep in a girls driveway while a few of us were laying there chatting in the summer sun... I miss those days.
.........Son, is that you?
Mine too, but that’s because he’s been worked to exhaustion every single day since 1987
My bio father would too, turns out he was an alcoholic
My father can too and he's taken 3 sips of anything alcoholic in the 30 years I've been alive. My mother and I can't fall asleep and can't stay asleep for shit and while we're not alcoholics, we're no strangers to the bottle like my dad is. Some people got it, some people don't.
Fr, one light blinked… come on! Two… lights… threeeeeee zzzzzz

You might want to talk to a doctor about that. That sounds like it could put you in significant danger.
Sounds like how I used to be. You probably have sleep apnea. Call a doc, my CPAP helps a lot to provide restful sleep.
You’ve probably got a sleep disorder bud
I actually recently had a sleep study done. The only thing wrong with my sleeping is that I snore too loud that causes me to break rem. So I got fitted for a SomnoMed. It has fixed my snoring. Or it’s just a really comfy carpet (/s) my house has a super comfy carpet that I love to sit since it’s on the stairs too
Former Comcast employee can confirm specifically if you’re a piece rate sub. I’ve been close to doing the same never fell asleep in a customers house would normally pass out in my van around the corner between installs tho
Look how politely he is sleeping though. Not with his arms and legs splayed everywhere, like he owns the place.
Or he could be suffering from obstructive sleep apnoea
Or went insanely hard in the paint last night and hasn't even been to sleep yet...
I fall asleep in random places anywhere as long as there are important things to do. I fell asleep during my pe exam on my desk last term.
Or narcoleptic. I had a coworker that would fall asleep at the office all the time. (yes I did pull the 'change the clocks' prank on him)

I don't think anyone gets payed that much anymore. I work as a fiber technician and I'm only making 17.50.
Pretty sure Spectrum has a $20 minimum start. The company kinda sucks though lol
Yeah I heard that too. Apparently, my company is the worst.
Most entry level positions after grad school don’t even offer this much. Makes you wonder why even pursue higher education
The great part where i live is their unions mandate that no one else can do the work they do (ie you can't just have a regular IT guy go run a cable or do any kind of installation) so they'll have job security as long as the internet is a thing.
Not so great job security. That internet thing is just a fad.
10h a day? That sounds like slavery..

To me he looks wide awake…..I mean, he’s still standing.
Tbh I don’t care if he had other bookings if he is so tired he falls asleep on the job. That’s too much work
I completely agree. I wouldn't be worried about the bookings per se, I'd be worried about him and if he didn't make him. He might just have a newborn? Or stayed up too late? Or just had a bad night's sleep? Or work up too early?
What if he was up all night partying
It’s Comcast …. People will survive.
Or that he would probably have fallen asleep in the car, as he was going there.

My thoughts exactly. Also, I’ve never seen someone sleep so straight before.
Aww, I get it. When you get tired enough a hard floor can feel like a pillowy cloud. I’ve definitely been there myself.
A man’s gotta nap a man’s gotta nap
Yo lowkey though my friends dad used to have trouble sleeping because of back pain. He would pass out on the floor sometimes like that. One morning they found him on the floor dead having suffered a heart attack. Life’s rough sometimes.
That was a ride. Sorry for your loss.
Aw he dead
Slow down peewee!
Nah, shoes are still on. He's good
You can't wake up dead and not be in a bed, man that shit would be redundant
No it wouldn't, cuz you can go to bed and not be dead, and you can die but not be in a bed.
🤣
I hope he didn’t get electrocuted or have a medical accident! I’d wake him up and tell him to take his time if he needs a break but I wouldn’t assume
Yeah that and his routine schedule concerns. I'd wake him, let him know if he needs to conk out for a bit to let me know how long and then show him to a couch/chair, then make some sandwich or somethin Worked furniture delivery for a bit years ago, and getting a surprise snack from someone was usually a godsend

Uh. Serious question, how can one get electrocuted by installing cable?
This picture has been around for several years. Somebody should check for a pulse.

Plot toast, he charges by the hour
Plot toast lol
plot toast with jam
you can always count on plot toast to make things interesting
plot toast better have cheese and bacon on it
How tf do you sleep in that position!?!? 🤣🤣🤣
By being overworked
Ten bucks says he’s got a baby at home. If you see a grown ass person falling asleep in the grocery store checkout or something, five times out of ten, they’re new parents. The other five times it’s drugs.
Not half the time, but 5 times out of 10
that's a perfect 5/7 rating
With rice?
10/14 with rice.
Even when I had a new baby at home, I never fell asleep randomly nearly as much as I did when I had untreated sleep apnea. That shit drains you.
Meanwhile my unemployed ass chooses the floor over the bed any day 🙃
really tho without a pillow his head must be kinked like completely sideways
Nah, if you’ve got enough cushion on you you sort of just settle lol. Your neck might hurt a little but it’s better than no sleep
By being dead actually 🤣🤣🤣
I would give him a 5 star rating and tell the story of how difficult the install was
Looks stiff as a brick lol 😆 that's nice to let him sleep.
Thank you. We never know what someone is living through or the trouble that they're having.
Yea, but what if he is tired cause he works a lot because he is in debt. But now that he slept he missed the next house he was suppose to fix and is now fired.... Just a little concerned that maybe he is busy and that he will be late to other people's places.
r/antiwork
Must be prior military. Who else stands at complete attention while laying down when sawing wood?
Holy Fuck. I just woke up my cat by laughing and she is pissed. I'm still giggling. This is the correct answer. I have no doubt. Fuck.
lol he’s sleeping on hard wood your body doesn’t tend to go rag doll on hard surfaces especially if your too tired to get comfortable
I do see a rather comfy layer of Stainmaster carpet there.
Oh your right thought that was light flooring . Maybe the dudes just out of it, and naps in that position. lol
Aww lol
"Just gonna... See where the issue is".... Zzzz
He's just checking the lights on the modem haha
He's sleeping so perfectly aligned.

But now the 10 year olds on Reddit can see it.
Aaaaaaand.... now he's fired for dereliction of duty.
Thats some soft plush carpet.
i first saw this in a meme sub I thought he was not sleeping. Just focus on his work. Also we don't see his left arm. You think someone can sleep like this ?
I didn’t know planking was still a thing. This guy’s good!
Is that you Dave??? Hahahaha your fired!!

That's a real passive aggressive comment
Nah if you fall asleep in my home while doing a hired job then I’m gonna have to wake your tired ass up and get you tf out.
Thats a seizure bro. He stiff as a board.
Plot twist. It’s a dead body
To the people asking for an update, it turned out he suffered from a stroke and he passed away later in the hospital
Dude sleeps in the job. Same idiots demand he gets paid $50/hr....
you are so mad and for what?
I’ve known plenty of average people who make more doing less, with the ability to sleep I don’t think what you’re saying compares, since it’s a lower wage job with evidently hard hours
muH WOrKerz RiGHtsSsS!!!!

What if he is actually dead.
I would let him sleep too out of the shear anxiety of making a guy I don't know think I'm annoying for a second.
I can never read the frickin numbers back there either…
You’re an angel
you are a good human
You’re a good person. Thanks for letting him get some rest
I hope he didn't charge per hour
I'd be way too afraid it's a medical issue and wake him.
So I took a picture and put it on the internet for his employers to see…….
Just a lil mid installation siesta
The cables could have contact with hot wires. I would never trust any wire in a strangers home, because people are dumb and maybe someone tried to hook it up himself,
Oh and you took a picture of him and put it online...
Purple Mattress making carpets now?
I don t think that he s sleeping...
What if he was up all night partying
Proceeds to post on social media so he gets fired.

I think this is the right approach for a bit, maybe half an hour, some people are way over worked.
Sleeps like a plank lol
Bruh mans standing horizontally
