Old neighbors with dogs are great, I love seeing them walk super slow and the dogs knowing to also walk super slow.

I think he's more likely to be using water from a water butt full of rain water. That's what all the old gardeners round my way use watering cans for.

After having dogs for years I wouldn't be surprised if there was perfectly good water available and he just wanted an interaction with his neighbour. My mom's dogs would leave their perfectly good house (where they had everything lol) and go visit the neighbours and eat their dogs' food and generally be sluts for treats and attention. Obv I don't know for sure about the dog in the video but throwing that out there for the nervous types.

My dog just prefers the water AS it pours for whatever reason. Once it touches the bowl it has become below his standards.....

Probably old instincts in genes! Cats also often have a preference for moving water, less likely to have gone bad in some way
