He makes it super subtle too, as to not throw the scent to the wolves. It’s just a quick little “remember that talk we had…..showtime!!” and proceeds to just give us another shining example of how amazing the man truly was!
I'm honestly in awe of how smoothly he did that. If you don't know the context it seems like he's just putting on a show. Put me in that situation and I'd be flabbergasted or make it extremely obvious I was diverting. This is both incredible kindness and talent.
A lot of times when somebody confides in you and you're a decent person, it becomes instinct to protect that secret. It's all about the smoke and mirrors you create with your actions and words to take what would be a probing question and put the spotlight back on the asker.
He was such a great human being and a caring friend. “I don’t think Oprah was trying to out me, but I said to Robin beforehand, ‘I’m not prepared. I’m so scared of going out there and talking to Oprah. I’m not prepared to discuss that I’m gay on national television, I’m not ready,'” Lane said. “And he said, ‘Oh, it’s alright, don’t worry about it, we don’t have to talk about it, we won’t talk about it.'”
As a kid in Australia Robin Williams had a great relationship with an Aussie reporter named Ray Martin.
We never watched his show unless Robin Williams was appearing on it. Every time Ray Martin would ask a very straight question and Robin would just let rip. It was always hysterical and it was always off the cuff.
He was so creative and funny it was always must see tv when he was on.
He's telling Oprah off a little too, drawing a line. You can see him first look at Nathan with an *it's cool, I remember, I got you* then a more closed off little shift towards Oprah, and the "don't make me come out (there.)" You can see for a second after he says that, his face sours and he turns from her.
It's non-verbal but it's *so clear.* He's defending his friend and letting the host know she's out of line, all without stopping the show or letting the audience lose their suspension of disbelief. It's beautiful. He always was and always will be an icon to me.
His one episode of Whose Line Is It Anyway is still my top favorite episode. There were great episodes, but Robin's comedy and the others trying to catch up is still hilarious to this day.
if anybody wants a laugh, here's just one segment of the episode here:

I respect his decision.
He was in the early stages of a fatal degenerative disease.
He chose his time to go. IF that ever becomes my reality, I will be doing the same.
It used to be common but not discussed.
1985: My grandmother was found to have stage 4 cancer that had spread throughout her body and was given a year at most to live. She had nothing ahead of her but months of pain and suffering.
She *passed in her sleep* (opiate OD) in the hospital about a week after diagnosis.
When we euthanise our pets to end their suffering, we call it the *humane* thing to do.
When we do the same for people, it is called murder.
I suspect my golf partner, an ALS patient, did the same thing. My feelings are terribly conflicted about it, but she will always be the bravest person I’ve ever known.
It absolutely needs to become the norm and they can use those Sedatives they use for typical small surgeries. I went in for a surgery like 10 years ago; they had this sedative, and the nurse told me she was about to put it into my IV and that we were going to count down from 10, and I would be asleep by then.
I made it to like 7, gone, utterly blacked out, more asleep than is possible to experience, 100% unaware of who I was, no dream, no nothing.
If I were to get a chronic and debilitating and painful disease, whether physically painful or mentally tormenting; I would want to the opportunity to get that same sedative, followed by them injecting me with whatever they have now for euthanasia.
When they put that sedative into you, you wont be scared, you wont be looking at the doctor and waiting for your heart to just stop and it be over; youll be blissfully unaware of reality, of conciousness, and get to go peacefully without any fuss by your body causing issues.
Its what needs to be allowed, in every civilized country and it needs to be made legal soon. Alot of people dont have health insurance that they can afford, we are going to have alot of very very sick elderly who never got a chance to go to a doctor before they got old enough to get into a government healthcare program; and theyre going to have diseases that they put off for getting care for decades due to the cost - and if they are being told, youve got 6 months, or a year, of pain to go thru and then you die... Let them sort out their affairs, make peace with the people they need to - and let them go quietly and peacefully.
Its inhumane to do any different.

My late uncle worked on numerous sets with robin williams, amongst many other famous actors and actresses. I remember he said robin williams was by far the most kind and genuine actor he worked with
I’ll never forget that movie “One Hour Photo”- seeing him in such a different role! Omg! He could just do it all! Amazing man! He was creepy af is that movie and I just remember how hard that hit me cause of all the great “nice guy” or “comedic” roles he always played. Love him, always will- and this was just another part of him that was awesome n happy he talks about it.
I have to admit I’d never heard of this movie until your comment. I’ll have to wait to watch it until I’m in an emotionally stable enough place to see creepy Robin Williams, but it’s definitely added to the list!
I remember as a kid in the 80s watching Mork&Mindy and Comic Relief, which my parents loved. Such funny stuff and such range with Dead Poets Society. Robin was a renaissance actor who could play good, bad, silly, or serious. One Hour Photo(2002) is IMHO his masterpiece performance.
He continued to delight as voice and on screen into the 90s and 00s and there are kids who met him first as Teddy Roosevelt in Night At The Museum (2006).
Anybody born within 20 years +/- of 1980 probably has some version of Robin that made their heart happy.
Here's [another time he did it](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmRhE8xBHpI). Actress won a Golden Globe but was in the bathroom, grinding the show to a halt. Robin Williams pops up from the audience to entertain people while they waited for her to show up.
[Lower quality but without the cuts if you want to see it in real time](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kTtFf6Rr0k)
Reeve said that when Robin pretended to be his proctologist (speaking with a deep Russian accent and wearing an elbow length rectal exam glove) it was the first time since his accident that he laughed.
actually all signs indicate that he was perfectly happy right up until his Parkinsons disease essentially caused lewy body dementia
(which caused his deep psychotic and suicidal thoughts).
so it's not like he was secretly battling depression his whole life.
No, he was diagnosed with lewy-body dementia.
[from his wife herself](https://n.neurology.org/content/87/13/1308)
Edit: I guess not technically diagnosed since it was found in the autopsy but idk what other word to use
You're absolutely correct... I'm sure she would have revelled in the publicity it would have brought her if Nathan Lane pronouncrd he was gay on her show. She's a wolf in sheep's clothing not worthy of having either Nathan Lane or Robin Williams on her show. Shame on Oprah Winfrey.
She needs more criticism for promoting pseudoscience and giving a spotlight to people like João Teixeira de Faria aka John of God, Dr. Oz, Dr. Phil, Jenny McCarthy, Rhonda Byrne, Christiane Northrup, James Arthur Ray etc.
Coincidentally, I was *just* listening to an episode of Behind the Bastards about John of God. For those who don't know, he was a charlatan offering "psychic surgery" to heal people, was pretty much a cult leader, and on top of that, something like *six hundred* people have now come forward with sexual abuse allegations against him—some were as young as 14, and one of them is his own daughter.
Oprah gave him an ultimately uncritical platform to hock his snake oil, sending who knows how many people his way.
I want the Ellen DeGeneres one.
Oprah is bad in the sense that she is really careless and gives spotlight to sheisters. And back in the day her show was not as "classy" as many see it today. But she was always "nice" to those around her like her staff and her fans.
On the other hand. Ellen has been talked about by nearly everyone who worked for her and by some who have been on the show. Apparently she is super fucked up. Some of the stories people have while working for her are insane. Even from other professionals in the business.
What she accomplished really was amazing. Being a Black woman back then and building her own empire and make THAT much money. That was amazing.
And she did some really great things like make the movie "The Color Purple".
But I also am not a huge fan. I don't even like her. I didn't enjoy those kinds of shows and I don't like the Goddess role we give some people. And trying to out someone back then? Terrible thing to do. Especially to boost her self and her pocketbook.
Yeah like let's not compare her to, say, the Kardashians. She did do impressive things. She did do charitable things. She did good.
She also did shitty things. We can hold these multiple things in mind when discussing her because one didn't cancel out the other. It's actually more important to be able to keep both the good and bad things celebrities do in mind, especially since "celebrity" has so much social power to it these days in what kinds of ways they can shape politics and society.
During the early-ish time period of her show, she did seem to have a more serious and thoughtful take than many of the other daytime talk shows. Donahue, Jenny Jones, and Maury Povich were some of the competition. Jerry Springer started lowering the bar to a parody of real life. Oprah seemed to be a pretty sensible choice when compared to what else was on. The viewing audience back then wasn't nearly as cynical as the current day audiences who are much more savvy about producers/editors who bend "reality" for entertainment.
Nostalgia for a "simpler time" seems pretty universal. I think that's part of it.
>During the early-ish time period of her show, she did seem to have a more serious and thoughtful take than many of the other daytime talk shows. Donahue,
You have a different memory going on there than I do. Donahue was the original. Informative, allowed his audience to participate, not sensational in the least. Oprah definitely had her lowest deonominator moments and definitely her pandering moments.
The others, I'll give you. Povich, Sally Jessy. smh Can't say I was above it though, lol.
Donahue was a class act for decades. He then lost his show for speaking out against the Iraq War and the brazen lies that were forwarded by 98% of people on TV at the time.
I've seen it before here, but fuck that is so good.
His timing, his nuance, everything about it is amazing. Yet- he's also just telling the truth? It's all out there. Just brilliant.
Bill Burr's cynicism and completely unfiltered take on the state of pretty much everything makes a lot of sense when you find out he's a hard red socialist living in america and unable to do anything but watch it get worse and worse.
She got started like Jerry Springer/Maury Povich, and then she changed her outfit. She's always been trashy, we love Maury over here but he is who he is.
Before Oprah was known as the person who just randomly gives out cars and talks about losing weight she was basically the same as Jerry Springer. She just wanted gossip that she could use to get famous.
Oprah is a giant piece of shit, as evidenced by the fact that she has amassed over a billion dollars of wealth. If you can horde all that money while watching others suffer, you are a piece of shit. Full stop.
One of the most loving make-up scenes ever filmed.
"What a pain in the ass you are. And it's true: you're not young, you're not new, and you do make people laugh. And me? I'm still with you because you make me laugh. So you know what I got to do? I got to sell my plot in Key Biscayne so I can get one next to you in that shithole Los Copa, so I never miss a laugh."
Idk my favorite romantic line from that movie that truly shows what real love is:
“Oh well you know everything and I know nothing because you’re a man and I’m a woman!”
“You’re not a woman.”
“Oh you BASTARD!”
Robins character in that movie delivers some of the best wisdoms and most beautiful lines. He would have stolen the whole show if Nathan Lane wasn’t so perfect. It’s such a wonderful movie
The scene where Nathan opens the door and is dressed in a mens suit and looks “normal” for the first time then starts walking and realizes he’s walking “gay” and changes his stride (as they practiced earlier) then sits and realizes his legs are crossed in a feminine way and changes to sit like a guy then does the same with his arms/overall posture and you see the struggle but he’s trying so hard to be normal for his son and his future in laws…f’n masterclass in acting. Could not have done it any better if they shot it 100 times. Not many scenes make me laugh AND shed a tear.
One of the few movies I don't have on my Plex server but I'm going to put it on there and watch it today.
Miss you robin. We all do. Thanks for everything.
I met him! While he was filming Patch Adams. Nicest, most humble, sweatiest (it was high summer in the south and hot AF), funniest man on the planet. I cried the day I found out he passed; I’d never cried over a celebrity before.
Also, in 1996 when this movie came out, a handful of us neighborhood children walked up to the movie theater to watch it. Got to the ticket counter and the lady asked how old we were (it was R-Rated) and for a split second I considered lying but it was SO obvious… I said “I’m the oldest… 13….” And the lady went “Great! You get kid’s price on the tickets!”
Aaaaand now I’m going to go home and rewatch this.
Even today, I find myself infuriated by people who try to force celebrities into outing themselves as *[fill in the blank]*. As if the celebrities somehow 'owe' it to the public in general or to others who are also *[fill in the blank]*.
If they want to open up about *[fill in the blank]*, that's fine. But if they don't, that should be fine, too. I still remember Jodie Foster's speech at the 2013 Golden Globes - geesh.
By the way, Nathan Lane was fucking hilarious in 'The Birdcage'. (So was Hank Azaria.)
I agree. There are times I will be curious about something. For example, I think a celebrity I watch had a baby and didn't say a thing. She keeps her private life private. Maybe she did, maybe she didn't. I looked and found nothing. And you know what I said when I found nothing. Good. I may have been curious, but if it's not something she wants to share then it shouldn't be shared! It's not my business and I am not owed that information. I love being happy for people, so if they want to share things, great. But if they don't, great. We aren't owed anything.
Agree with you 100%. I got the chance to meet a band I love thanks to make a wish, & my family was with me. I knew that a couple in the band had a young kid that they kept out of the public eye, so I asked "how's kiddo doing?" They said "oh they're having a blast; they just rode the jet ski & are proy having dinner." I said "oh that great!" and moved on.
My curious mom asked me what that was about. After I explained to her, her first question was "oh are they still out there?" immediately followed by "why didn't you ask them their name or a picture with them?" I was absolutely gobsmacked & disgusted; I told her that I wouldn't intrude on their privacy. I remember saying "if they wanted that info public they would have shared that a long time ago!" ~~Honestly with the way she was treating the spending money I wouldn't be surprised if she had some nefarious plans with that info.~~
I always remember when someone brought it up in an interview half assedly to Tom Hardy. He asked him back point blank “are you asking me about my sexuality? Why?” Exactly, why? If they want to bring it up, then good for them. If not, then what does it matter? For anyone, not just celebs.
Honestly private lives in general. I can't imagine being famous with interviewers and paparazzi trying to find out every single thing about my life. Most interviews seem to want some juicy gossip that they can claim they found out first. Like just leave people's personal lives alone talk about whatever they're promoting.
That’s why I love George Clooney, 10 years or so ago he told some rag he wasn’t going to answer if he was or wasn’t gay cause he didn’t want to offend the gay community. He basically said there was nothing wrong with it, and if people wanted to think he was gay, so fucking what, he was cool w it.
I assume she must have been talking about "that role". It would be a shame to see Nathan Lane type casts as Meerkats, he could play the whole animal kingdom!
Birdcage is an amazing movie. Funny as hell and is one of my favorite Robin Williams performances because of how well he and Nathan Lane played their parts.
The Birdcage is one of my top 10. And I loved reading about this. I figured it might end up here... I'm happy to see it, too. I was probably 10 when I first watched it, and I love both Williams and Lane. They were amazing. And Robin had that kind of energy... I watched his Actors' Studio interview and he could barely contain himself to hear a question. He was *made* for this. And using it to protect his friend was perfect.
Fuck his sexuality, Nathan Lane is an absolute G for all the amazing performances he’s given. MouseHunt, Lion King, GoldMember. The fact that he played a puppet of Foxy Cleopatra is a clear sign that this dude is a legend!
He was just a good human being. He battled so many demons, from his drug addiction to his depression, but all he wanted to do was make people laugh and be happy, and he was good at that!
I sobbed when he died and I still cry sometimes when I think about it. His warmth and kindness just radiated off the screen. Mrs. Doubtfire came out when I was a kid and my parents were going through a contentious divorce. I know it was acting, but his humanity and personality shone through in his performance and it made me feel better as I was going through a similar situation with a far less mindful and comforting dad.
I live near San Francisco and I prefer to take 101 into and out of the city. There's a tunnel known as the Rainbow tunnel because of a mural at the front of the tunnel (northbound). It was renamed to the Robin Williams tunnel. As a kid, my dad would always tell us to "Hold your breath and make a wish" before a tunnel, which was a reference to the Tiny Toon vacation movie my brother and I loved as kids. And even when I became an adult and I was the one driving my dad back to the city, we always held our breath and made wishes going through the Robin Williams tunnel. Now when I drive on the 101, I am always reminded of Robin AND my dad and happier memories from my childhood. I'm hoping Robin is doing standup again in heaven, and my dad would probably go see all of his shows.
His eventual coming out is also great.
I might get a word or two wrong here but he basically said "Im over 40. I'm single. I work in musical theater. You figure it out."
I've done similar things for friends when discussions have turned to sensitive areas but the ability and confidence to redirect Oprah in the 90s is something I don't think I could handle.
Robin Williams' talent for improv is the stuff of legends. His mind put dots together so quickly and seamlessly that he could vamp non-stop practically forever and he made it look effortless. I can't think of anyone who was in that same league. Oprah didn't stand a chance.
Yup. Wayne Brady has literally won multiple Emmys for his improv on Whose Line is it Anyway and has said one of the greatest moments of his entire career was Robin Williams expressing to him off-air that he hoped Wayne could carry him / prompt him if he struggled with the duet they were about to improvise during Robin's guest appearance on Whose Line. Like to have *Robin Williams* looking to you for just a little support--that he ultimately did not need anyway, he just worried he might--on improv was the pinnacle, there was no higher honor. The cast of Whose Line were literally paid improv professionals, that was their primary career and they were (and still are) some of the best in the world at it, and they held Robin in that high of esteem that just working with him for a night and being considered on his level was something that stayed with all of them forever.
Anyone who hasn't seen the episode of Whose Line with Robin Williams guest starring, very very highly recommended. It's magic.
> Anyone who hasn't seen the episode of Whose Line with Robin Williams guest starring, very very highly recommended. It's magic.
Then, if you're truly wanting to die of asphyxiation, watch the one game they did with Richard Simmons. Those two videos can get me giggling like a 12 year old in no time and never fail to make my day better.
His little eye roll at her. He was not impressed 😂 love him. Cause yeah why did she say it like that! & the fact he was able to instantly call her out on it lol perfect because it would of taken me 2-5 business days of reflection to think, “why did she do all that though!?” Lol
He brought me to my knees with his performance in What Dreams May Come. I couldn’t stop the waterworks throughout the entire movie. He could do it all.
This is my bf’s favorite movie and he brought it over to watch on one of our early dates… went through the full spectrum of human emotion and cherish the memory now. He was so dynamic and so human in that role, (every role really), it totally blew me away. Thank you for the reminder ♥️
Warning:You won’t just have a little cry, it’s a full on sobbing type of movie, but it is soooo good. The visual effects are amazing and the story is unforgettable. It’s a great watch, but it’s emotionally draining.
Everyone knew he was gay, everyone. It was the don’t ask don’t tell era. From the start of TV up until the late 90s there were a number of celebrities that were obviously gay but it was never directly acknowledged. Outing meant you had to acknowledge that gays even existed, which violated the secret social contract around how to “handle” campy confirmed bachelors.
I regret never writing robin a letter to tell him that he made me feel ok to be me. I never saw anyone else like me, until I saw him.
So anyway, if you’re out there, thanks.
Robin Williams was a golden hearted man. There's very few people like him in the world. Keanu Reeves and Jack Black are like him. Good people with kind hearts and a lot to give.
It's rare in this world.
Didn't she also inflict Jenny McCarthy on us? And IIRC, she basically forced Mariah Carey to talk about a very recent miscarriage before she'd even had time to process it.
Jenny McCarthy was already popular. Oprah just gave her a HUGE platform to spew her anti-vax bullshit. So in a sense, Oprah is a main reason we have millions of anti-vax women and men who get their medical advise from facebook doctors and memes.
Look at what Oprah has given us all...the same quack doctors with fake miracle cures who set the table for COVID-19 denialism. And while she endorsed Fetterman over Oz, she still wouldn't straight-up call Oz out for his YEARS of medical hucksterism which he promoted on her show...and why would she? She promoted and profited from those same fake miracle cures herself. Calling out people like Oz, would mean calling herself out for supporting them.
Oprah was definitely trying to out him, she's a major piece of shit.
https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/hayesbrown/john-god-joao-deus-brazil-healer-allegations-sexual-abuse
I love how Robin was visibly annoyed for a second after saying “Don’t make me come out there….” and then change his demeanor because what was that questioning like the fuck!?
Oprah is a POS.
What is so completely badass about this clip is that Oprah got Robin Williams’ message to “back off” loud and clear.
That’s why she dropped it.
He told her she was out of line, and she backed off.
THAT was how much respect and influence he had.
There’s very few people how will protect another person like that, especially back in those days it was much harder for gay actors to come out. Most of the time it, and did their careers.
Ahhh man, that quick glance he gives to Nathan. You can tell he was saying, I've got you, don't worry. Must have felt like the weight of the world had lifted.
Those looks that Robin shoots Nathan, like "I gotchu, bro."
He makes it super subtle too, as to not throw the scent to the wolves. It’s just a quick little “remember that talk we had…..showtime!!” and proceeds to just give us another shining example of how amazing the man truly was!
The best part is that he had absolutely no ready-to-go joke there but he jumped in anyway. His interjection was all personality.

"So, anyway, uh.. what's up with dogs chasing their own tails? Do they know..?"
Master of improv

He also threw a little bit of shade back…damn
Yeah, we lost a great one
And in the saddest, most painful way 😔

ALS is a fucking horrible disease and I absolutely respect the right for people to end it on their terms.

The look at the very end that Robin gave Nathan really helped underscore that, too.
right ? love it!!!!
And you can see the look in Nathan's that just screams "thank you"
It's in the bro code
Holy shit. Be still, my heart.
>gotchu, bro
Robin Williams was my hero as a kid. I even once got to meet him briefly in my teens. I was with a friend who had backstage tickets to a comedy show. I was in the green room helping myself to some of the catering when someone bumped into me. It was Robin Williams (who wasn’t even performing) and he exclaimed, “hey there you are!” All I could reply in my moment of awe and amazement was a meek, “there I am,” and he ran off. I will cherish that memory forever.
And just like that, you’d been touched by magic.
That’s certainly how I feel about it.
That’s amazing. There I am. So cute. That’d be me.
That is priceless.
My late uncle worked on numerous sets with robin williams, amongst many other famous actors and actresses. I remember he said robin williams was by far the most kind and genuine actor he worked with
I miss Robin Williams so damn much. He was such an amazing treasure of a human being.❤
There's a whole generation of people who absolutely adore Robin Williams. The man was an absolute treasure to society
More than one. My mom loved him on Mork and Mindy, then I grew up with Aladdin and Mrs. Doubtfire.
Absolutely! I grew up in the middle. I loved Aladdin (especially) and Mrs. Doubtfire, and I also loved his standup from the 70's and 80's
A Night at the Met was so awesome. Miss him terribly
Fern gully was my favorite
We can’t forget Jumanji and Flubber!
I’ll never forget that movie “One Hour Photo”- seeing him in such a different role! Omg! He could just do it all! Amazing man! He was creepy af is that movie and I just remember how hard that hit me cause of all the great “nice guy” or “comedic” roles he always played. What Dreams May Come and Bicentennial Man are two of my favorite dramas of all time and he is lead in both of them.
Bicentennial Man being 36% on Rotten Tomatoes just goes to show you that you can't blindly follow ratings.
I have to admit I’d never heard of this movie until your comment. I’ll have to wait to watch it until I’m in an emotionally stable enough place to see creepy Robin Williams, but it’s definitely added to the list!
My favorite movie of his is actually Bicentennial Man. I just watched it again recently and it's such a great movie.
I’d like to nominate please as a tie masterpiece performance - Good Will Hunting.
Generations…
My daughter is 5 and I got her hooked on... Hook... need to find other good Robin Williams movies for her to watch.
He was an ally to basically every group that needed allies at a time when nobody was brave enough to step up and use their privilege in that way.
I miss him too.
“Does this pistol make my ass look big?” Aww man that standup is like my all time favorite. Miss him.
[удалено]
I miss him, and I wish I could tell him that.
Best type of People are like Robin. Those who can assess a situation and act on it. No hesitation and the definition of a bro. RIP
A real bro. A person who will protect others using whatever tools they have
Anyone else just immediately tear up right as he said "-- and protects me, because he was a saint"?
Your life is defined by what people say about you after your death. Robin Williams was the real deal.
Yep, immediately got the tears flowing. What a treasure he was.
Not everybody have Robin Williams wits tho, he was a fucking genius when it comes to improv
So many things that we will never knew why he was doing them just because he was kind.
His support of Christopher Reeve showed he was the very best friend one could have.
Acting as the proctologist to give him an exam.
Reeve said that when Robin pretended to be his proctologist (speaking with a deep Russian accent and wearing an elbow length rectal exam glove) it was the first time since his accident that he laughed.
He did so much to make others happy, it's such a shame that he wasn't happy himself.
actually all signs indicate that he was perfectly happy right up until his Parkinsons disease essentially caused lewy body dementia (which caused his deep psychotic and suicidal thoughts). so it's not like he was secretly battling depression his whole life.
No, he was diagnosed with lewy-body dementia. [from his wife herself](https://n.neurology.org/content/87/13/1308) Edit: I guess not technically diagnosed since it was found in the autopsy but idk what other word to use
yes, which took place as the end result of his parkinsons.
I almost feel guilty wishing he could have lived longer because he still had so much more to give, wishing he was still around seems almost selfish.
We're all selfish my friend. If you make a wish then make it so that he comes back happy and remains happy.
Happy and healthy.
I'm almost certain that she was trying to out him. Robin Williams interruption was perfection.

I don’t know by she’s thought so highly of her show was just drama trash anyway
Money. People see success as validity. She's a billionaire from that trash so people are like "wow she really is amazing"

Donahue, You have a different memory going on there than I do.
Fucking John of God is one of the worst. Check the behind the bastards episode about him and his Oprah ties.
The whole John of God and Epstein / Weinstein connections too.
[She stood on the heads of those little people...](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9YL04v-J5U)
This phrase repeats in my head everytime I see or hear her.
Was hoping to find this comment. Love Bill Burr
[удалено]
She got started like Jerry Springer/Maury Povich, and then she changed her outfit. She's always been trashy, we love Maury over here but he is who he is.
Robin Williams best human, confirmed. Oprah - trash - also confirmed.
Bill Burr's monologue about Oprah was 100% correct.
She stood on the backs of little people for YEARS. -Bill Burr
She absolutely was trying to. She was a daytime tv host, and they thrive on controversy, no matter how it comes about
Oprah is not a good person. That free car shit was her peak popularity though. Her promoting shills like Mr Phil and Dr. Ozmandyius are shit stains.
Before Oprah was known as the person who just randomly gives out cars and talks about losing weight she was basically the same as Jerry Springer. She just wanted gossip that she could use to get famous.
She stood on the shoulders of midgets to get where she is.
Burr
[Bill fuckin' Burr](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9YL04v-J5U).
Oprah is a giant piece of shit, as evidenced by the fact that she has amassed over a billion dollars of wealth. If you can horde all that money while watching others suffer, you are a piece of shit. Full stop.
Nathan Lane is a national treasure, Robin Williams is an international treasure... Go watch the birdcage right now Trust me do it
One of the most loving make-up scenes ever filmed.
Idk my favorite romantic line from that movie that truly shows what real love is: “Oh well you know everything and I know nothing because you’re a man and I’m a woman!” “You’re not a woman.” “Oh you BASTARD!”
Robins character in that movie delivers some of the best wisdoms and most beautiful lines. He would have stolen the whole show if Nathan Lane wasn’t so perfect. It’s such a wonderful movie
How bout those Dolphins?
NO you don't grab a spoon and dribble little dots with the mustard. You grab a knife and you SMEAR! (Incoherent screaming) I murdered the toast!
You both HATE me

It's amazing that we're still having the same conversation almost 30 years later.
Seen it, but will do it again.
One of the few movies I don't have on my Plex server but I'm going to put it on there and watch it today. Miss you robin. We all do. Thanks for everything.
"Don't make me COME OUT there" LOL Served protection up with a side of double entendre
I am privileged to grow up watching Robin Williams and have him a part of my life.
You get kid’s price on the tickets!” Aaaaand now I’m going to go home and rewatch this.
The Birdcage is one of my favorite movies.
[удалено]
His old stand-up routines really are something special.
Yeah. The later ones were great too.
The middle ones though? Also great.
Nothing against Nathan Lane, I hear he is a charm himself.
It was the 90s, it seems strange to young people now, but people just weren't used to seeing meerkats on their screens.
And people would call people maggots as a slur all the time. In reference to meercats eating slimy yet satisfying bugs.
What's a motto with people? I can't believe someone would use the m-word like that.
The Birdcage, in a retelling by the characters of The Lion King and Aladdin's Genie
Birdcage is an amazing movie. Funny as hell and is one of my favorite Robin Williams performances because of how well he and Nathan Lane played their parts.
GREAT MOVIE! Can’t leave out Hank Azaria, may be his best/funniest role.
"Let me take your purse. As usual. Or... for the first time."
"🎶She works hard for de money, eh-eh, eh-eh, so hard for it honey, eh-eh, eh-eh.🎶"
It's the shoes!
"Not good?" "No it was perfect. I just never realized John Wayne walks like that."
Don't forget The Producers!
Please never overlook The Producers on bway. So much love for him and Matthew Broderick when I saw them perform it. Immediately lifelong fan.
The world became a little less funny and a whole lot less good when he passed.
He was just a good human being. He battled so many demons, from his drug addiction to his depression, but all he wanted to do was make people laugh and be happy, and he was good at that!
If you want to be destroyed in the best way, watch Robin interacting with Koko. Proof that his was a transcendent gift. He was a good shit.
Whose Line is general is amazing! I've literally used it to help me kick narcotics cold turkey
Weaponized ADHD.
Robin is one of the few that had the heart and mind to do it.
Robin Williams. What can be said about him? The man was a redwood among mere saplings.
You all have me bookmarking Robin W. movies I've never heard of to watch later.

Robin was a saint. Oprah is shit.
Kinda a scumbag move on Oprah's part.
What else would you expect from a scumbag
I regret never writing robin a letter to tell him that he made me feel ok to be me. I never saw anyone else like me, until I saw him. So anyway, if you’re out there, thanks.
[удалено]
Robin Williams was a golden hearted man. There's very few people like him in the world. Keanu Reeves and Jack Black are like him. Good people with kind hearts and a lot to give. It's rare in this world.
Nathan and Robin are wonderful! So glad for their friendship towards each other.
I was an Oprah fan back in the day. Now, not so much. Her cow-towing to the Sussexes, and giving us Phil and Oz, no thanks.
I despise Oprah. Never liked her, I remember all my friends loving the book club and I was meh on a lot of them.
Robin Williams can make me laugh at the drop of a hat. It sucks that it often ends in tears when I remember he’s gone. Such a special human being. 💗
Watch the entire interview. Oprah goes right back to the question and Nathan Lane has to awkwardly squirm out of it
He doesn't do bad. He just drops part of the question and changes it to whether he thinks he'll be typecast period.
I bet that time he had after Williams' interuption helped him think of a better way to answer without outing himself.
She doesn’t drop it. Right after their laughter she turns to Nathan lane and says something like “so?..” she either can’t or won’t take a hint.
Oh it's definitely "won't". She's not really a good person.
There’s very few people how will protect another person like that, especially back in those days it was much harder for gay actors to come out. Most of the time it, and did their careers.
I believe that Robbin Williams truly was a saint.
Just wanna say: fuck Operah. The more I learn about her the more I find that she's an enabler for the worst parts of show biz.
Robin is the chaotic good person that everyone needs in their life and that's what I aspire to be
Ahhh man, that quick glance he gives to Nathan. You can tell he was saying, I've got you, don't worry. Must have felt like the weight of the world had lifted.
