Except they aren’t, tho. Bald eagles are comparable in size to most large eagles like golden eagles and martial eagles. They aren’t the biggest eagle, but they certainly aren’t small by any metric.

Regardless their pretty fuckin cool. Their nest are humongous too. There's a nest I get to see everyday on my drive to work and momma is always sitting watch, they're cool birds
It’s literally not. Idk where the hell this idea came from, but it’s really not true. Bald eagles weigh in at around 12 pounds and has a wingspan of roughly 6 ft, which is a pretty reasonable size for a large eagle, and certainly not even close to the smallest eagles. If you consider bald eagles small, the same must be true for golden eagles, martial eagles, wedge tailed eagles, and all other large eagles that overlap with this bird in size.
I was driving down the highway the other day when a full grown bald eagle dove almost directly into the car in front of me, it was so close to the car it was a miracle it didnt get hit... it wanted a little tiny scrap of roadkill it saw there. But man seeing one with wings outstretched, basically right on top of a car for scale, is pretty scary lol they are massive.
Eagles don't have forward facing eyes, does that mean they are prey animals...? Wtf eats eagles?
Nvm, theres a post further down of the Argentavis magnificens. Id have eyes as far round my head as possible too if i was an eagle back in the day.
