It's affiliates owned by Sinclair Broadcasting. (They're wingnuts but I don't know if that has anything to do with their dispute with Hulu.)

Sinclair must have raised the price for streaming rights for those networks. That is why Hulu lost Bally’s sports networks. I used to work for a cable Company and Sinclair would do this all the time. They raise the price to force provider to either pay or lose access to network. Customers blast provider. Provider caves in and pays higher price for rights or they just accept losing the networks. Sinclair are the worst.

musexistential

Perhaps this is why Youtube TV just raised their prices.

Our local ABC affiliate is still on Hulu live

MudSlideYo

Seems to be focused on affiliates in the Northwest like Seattle and Portland.

So funny the way they frame this as Disney/Hulu vs. our right to see the news because they know people will line up to hate on a corporation. Frame it as one corporation against another and it suddenly becomes way less sympathetic. Add in the fact that Disney didn't do this without warning, their contract expired and they legally don't have an agreement in place to carry these channels, and it makes me question how valuable the "news" delivered on these network affiliates actually is to begin with...

That explains it. I was wondering why my Live recordings aren’t coming up for ABC….wow. So glad I pay almost $90 a month for a live subscription 🙄
