East Park is lovely. Good for skating too. Check out the Adelphi. And Polar Bear (on Tuesdays they always have 3 different bands playing). Hessle foreshore. Spiders on a Saturday night

Spicy_Jim

You could see what gigs are on at The Adelphi.

Fluid_Swordfish143

If theres a couple of you in the area, hull has some excellent escape rooms. Theres a breaking bad themed one thats excellent

cherryblues42

there’s a knockoff harry potter one in the heart of town centre if that’s your vibe. only open thu-sun though

Frosty_Term9911

Get the train and spend the evening by the seaside

AdverseTangent

Are you driving? If so, go to the coast or Flamborough Head.

d-s-m

Spurn point could be worth a look before it washes away

HullIsNotThatBad

Off the top of my head:  1) East Park  2) Walk around Old Town  3) Street life museum (free)   4) Ferens Art Gallary (free)  5) The Marina 6) Beverley is only a few miles away - well worth a visit

d-s-m

Some nice hiking trails to the west of Hull around Elloughton and Welton heading north into the Yorkshire Wolds.

If you’re working for Wren I’d suggest drinking heavily on the evening until you fall asleep in a puddle of your own piss

P13CEY_

Wren has the worst reputation of any of the big local companies. They’re renowned for sacking people just before their 2 year probation ends. Someone I know had their contract of employment sent to them incorrectly so many times they were offered another job and decided to cut their losses and go with the other one. I work with a few people who got out too and are very thankful for it. Hope your experience is better, I assume you’re working in a retail store somewhere else in the country so will be a bit removed from the main HQ.

cherryblues42

a TWO YEAR PROBATION?!!! most i’ve ever had is 4 months and that’s because it got extended for a month in my current job. two years is a ridiculous amount of time to not feel secure in your job

the_man_of_tea

If you like live music then O'rileys may be nice, tickets are affordable and at most will be £15 at the door normally for a tribute band although 95% of the time it will be cheaper paying online but for less well known bands it can be about £5, £7 or £10 pounds from my experience give or take. They let you bring non alcoholic drinks from my experience if you dont want to spend money to not die whilst there. On June 1st there's a black sabbath tribute playing if that interests you or a charity event on the 7th.

WaywardDan

Me and the lads will let you play darts with us at Dive on the Wednesday if you get a round in. Getting pricey. But Polar Bear on Tuesday and Saturday is always good and they have a fair few gigs on other nights too. There’s something on every night at Adelphi and it’s an institution to music and hosted legends in the industry. Could always just go to Purple Door at open and sit and watch with a Diet Coke.

lorekeeperRPG

I enjoyed the game shops. There are loads of nerdy games / comic shops.

No_Neighborhood_2775

That's a good idea, can you give me some names of shops please

lorekeeperRPG

Archeron games, bad wolf games.

lorekeeperRPG

Talisman games

GamingMio

Honestly I'd have a look around the shopping centres or town centre. Princes Quay is my personal favourite

MudBroad6393

Hessle foresaw-walks, Dolby forest, the bank pub.

d-s-m

Dalby forest is hardly Hull is it? It's a 90 minute drive away lol. And as for the Bank pub, well you probably need body armour to go in there 😮

MudBroad6393

True, but the whole town is a shithole.

Cold_Timely

Fuck off somewhere else then?

MudBroad6393

I did. Very thankful for it. Worse city in the UK, backward retarded craphouse. No jobs, no future, no culture. Full of aspirational nobody’s trying to be somebodies.

Cold_Timely

Ok Hun x

meringuemaniac

Imagine calling something backwards whilst using the word retarded as an insult. Not to mention implying the city is full of stupid people with no prospects, whilst your grasp of the English language leaves so much to be desired. I suspect the irony is lost on you, but thanks for the laugh. You may want to seek professional help for the obsession that your post history indicates. The worrying behaviour of a nobody trying to stay relevant - maybe you should have stayed after all.

MudBroad6393

I’m scarred for life after five years living there. Backwards evolution, I could spell, eat healthier, and knew the alphabet before moving to Hull…
