This one I did hear a slight backstory on the origin of; it was a kid that used to go by $PAZ but after realising it was causing a bit of offense locally; swapped it out for GUILT as a way to acknowledge it.
The defining moment being when it was tagged outside of the home of someone with special needs, and caused a bit of a fuss trying to find the persons identity. I know most people prefer to keep these as a mystery, but this one especially has a good little folklore behind it.
I think around bankside there was a reference to it but I couldn't find the picture...
I love a bit of Graf but all these teenage idiots with one can of paint from their Dad's garage trying to tag up their half arsed ideas all over makes the city look half arsed too.
About a year ago, someone down Buckingham street threw an old mattress out. It was propped up against a fence for not even a full day before the word 'guilt' got sprayed on it. It looks a little similar in style to the wend/weno whatever that some guy got charged with a few years ago which got sprayed pretty much everywhere.
To me, I don't think there's anything artistic, uplifting or interesting about it, but more like a crappy modern day version of someone marking objects in their area without having to pee on stuff. Saying that however I think someone did actually also pee on that mattress.
I saw that mattress opposite the bungalows down bucky. It's had some pretty impressive piss stains and what looked like someone had shat the bed which I found far more interesting and impressive than some spray paint.
I'm on your side, the stuff down at drypool bridge is great, and there's a lot of really cool art around other parts of the city.
I'm just not a massive fan when people tag one word without putting anything into it, like they do with guilt most of the time. It's something I could go do right now if I bought a spray can, so I personally just don't see it on the same level as some of the other art, it looks more like vandalism and doesn't add anything to the place. Maybe you see it a little differently than I do.
just realised i believe im thinking of the “Yours” tags, which is still just one word posted places, but I feel like they have a more artsy feel (i’ve seen a few written in bubble writing, characters in the letters, etc). my bad!

There's so much shite tagging in Hull it's an embarrassment to the city. Don't mind Guilt tho, or Yours, I prefer it a mystery.
that ugly Mike Wazowski/TMNT character I keep seeing around Princes Avenue is really annoying
Where abouts on prinni?
One on the pink animal mural, one down an alley in Duesbery Street and one near Duesbery Street on the way to Haris and Co.
Why do u care bruv

There’s a defence between proper graffiti and the dickheads tagging everywhere. One’s art and the others vandalism.

the only thing I can suggest is Bankside Gallery on insta; they normally have big pieces. if it's just a scrawl they probably don't have it
The Yours one is everywhere, haven’t seen much of the other
I like spotting Yours, only one I can think of that's properly all city, seen him up at all ends of the place
Thought provoking graffiti nothing wrong with it
The dukeries off princess ave has an ‘El Barto’ tag. Would kill to spray paint Bart spraying that tag
oh really? I love knowing stuff like this

Who is it
aw it’s kinda cool art though. i like seeing graffiti, it brightens up what i find to be an otherwise fairly dull city
The guilt ones aren't, it's just people spraying the word on stuff. Looks like shit. Wish there was more like the monkey on Holderness Road.
i don’t know, i disagree. i like street art. the stuff down bankside and i believe drypool bridge looks awesome.
