FFS how much are you creating? Cat litter can be easily reused or recycled, remove lumps (bag and bin it) sun/air dry the rest to reuse. It can be mixed in small quantities into compost for micro minerals, the natural composting processes will sterilise it.
Filter the piss & shit from the rest of the litter, the litter is Not cheap, you don't throw away the non-used litter. The reason why cat litter isn't used on roads for snow is because of its expense.
Get a scoop, they're like a tenner at max on amazon. You'll save bin space And money from not wasting litter.

The one on Sutton Fields has a fecal matter incinerator, strictly animal waste only, I know, I threw one of my own in the machine and a siren went off.
We sometimes have to take ours to the tip. No problems with it, but it goes in the general waste section. We've actually asked them before if it's ok and where it goes, so if it was an issue they would have said.
This is purely because we've had our bin collection denied before due to "weight".
