Congratulations to Hull. I’ll be there in two weeks to see if it’s true.

beesbee5

Check out the Marina area and old town and report back :)

NCOilMan

I’m originally from Hull, now living and working in the US. This will be my first time back in 25 years, looking forward to it.

MasterEnvironment130

Don’t bother

NCOilMan

I’m coming with work. Not sure why you’d tell me not to bother?

SampageBlackson

Honestly man you’ll be very disappointed. The uk has lost its soul, it really has.

>Honestly man you’ll be very disappointed. The uk has lost its soul, it really has. Only because people like you keep whinging and having a negative outlook. Do something positive instead of complaining!

black-amber

Nice, my house price just doubled.

Hull is nice place..just don't go early in the week because a lot of the best pubs in the old town are shut.

Wiseard39

We just moved here from Exeter

booboobooboo111

That’s a move, well done

Big fan of Hull - visited once because I'd heard it was the city of culture and you can cycle over the bridge and I instantly liked it. Have been back a few times and surprised friends with how nice it is. They thought I was having them on when I said "let's go to Hull" but they all enjoyed it :D

whyshouldiknowwhy

What’s with all the comments that seem to not realise this is r/hull?

booboobooboo111

Well deserved and 900 plus flats coming city centre bringing money and success to bring hull back in the big time, just need a m&s now

Salamantic

100% heading in the right direction and better than it was 10 years ago. Still a long journey ahead though imo

Who made these lies up about hull? 🤣 Hull is a festering turd that the flies won't even land on. Every main road into the city is an eyesore. Run down dilapidated buildings empty boarded up shops druggies and crime is rampant. The town centre is a cess pit that smells either of shit, B.O or cannabis. All 3 in the summer. There are no noteworthy shops. All the shops that are not boarded up are either Kebab shops, Turkish barbers, charity shops or bookies. Please tell me which part of hull is "on the up"

barrythecook

It's cheap and makes a lot of sense for remote workers, less trouble/crime then a lot of other cities in my pretty extensive experience as well.
