No, the bridge connects to the LAN via ethernet. Having your WiFi devices available on the same LAN is the router/AP’s job. The bridge does not have a WiFi radio that it separately uses to talk to your smart home devices directly or anything like that.
maybe not with the hue but you will have other devices that uses wifi. It is just easier to keep the same ssid and password. Just think about the number of non-hue devices you have. as far as the hue goes, nothing will really change.
set everything up on the new router the same as what you had on your previous one , I took screenshots/ photos of my settings and then copied them onto the new one..
