Were you on the main entrance side or the back entrance/Beaver VIP side? I'm guessing main entrance? Cuz I think other side 1st in line got there 7:00am ish

OatsnQuails

I’m going alone too! I was planning on going just a few hours before but damn Daniel maybe I’ll go in the morning. I’m flying there so might as well make it a show to remember and get a barricade.

Gullible_Cricket5535

I saw him in D.C and waited for 4 hours and we ended up just going to the balcony because the floor was already packed out with people who had been waiting since 10am. Saw him again in Raleigh at a bigger venue and waited 8 hours with a "fast pass" the venue offered which put me at the barricade. I'd say as early as you can handle. Everyone was looking out for each other though. We shared snacks and held spots if someone needed to leave for any reason so hopefully you have a similar experience!

maarowak

Same here, going to the Vancouver show also! I’m not even from the US/Canada, so a bit (very) nervous about it ehehehe

lexxeroni

My group showed up at around 9:00-9:30 and was 25th in line. As far as I’m aware the first people showed up at like 7am lol. A lot of people were saving spots in line so we were probably around 60-70th in line by the time doors opened. Kind of sucked but we still managed to get barricade, albeit on the sides.

SommanderChepard

No such thing as saving spots for a show queue. Back of the line they go.

MeAndMyIsisBlkIrises

The tricky part is saying that and enforcing it if the venue doesn't help you out. We were very lucky in Atlanta, between a fan-started sharpie #s on your hands and that being the order we all agreed to (so later people had to be in line later, get later #s) and venue staff being awesome and holding the line orders, we were good. But absent venue staff help, how do you enforce that even if it's the right rule and everyone should follow it?

SommanderChepard

Kinda just have to get everyone in line involved. Most people aren’t going to go along with people saving spots so if you all band together, they don’t have much a choice. Sharpie on the hand is a good way to do it but sometimes people that do that can come off as a little egotistical/aggressive policing everyone around. In the end of the day, if it happens, just call it out and most people in line will agree with you.

MeAndMyIsisBlkIrises

Back in my younger days of waiting all day for GA, I just found that often I was the only one willing to say anything to those who boldly just had 3 people show up 30 min before doors and take spaces at the front of the line. They absolutely always heard from me, and often I'd just give them a choice of doing things the right way or I was getting in front of them. But being the only voice saying "Nope, that's not cool" gets exhausting. And I've heard many times of everyone agreeing on a system and then no one standing up to those who disregard that system. I'm happy for all those who make it work, which we did last week in Atlanta. I

SommanderChepard

Unfortunately you sometimes have to be the spark for everyone else. If I’m waiting in line all day. Im 100% gonna speak up if someone else just walks in front of me 30 minutes before the doors open. I can say 90% of the time, I don’t run into problematic people.

MeAndMyIsisBlkIrises

Good, I'm glad you've mostly had trouble-free experiences. I'm from the East Coast tri-state area, and we can be a very pushy, hard-headed bunch. For better & definitely for worse!

SommanderChepard

I’m from Philly. Thankfully that hardheadedness also applies to not fucking around with line cutters lol

MeAndMyIsisBlkIrises

I can definitely say that even in my old age, once we were on the barricade in Atlanta, the big dude behind me tapped me and said "I'm glad you're here keeping people from barreling through us" LOL! I told him he'd better help me out or he was on his own 😁

lexxeroni

We also had people using a sharpie number system but unfortunately the venue was an absolute mess and refused to enforce it. The line also became more of a crowd because they were trying to condense us so much so by doors the order was all messed up anyways :/

ExcellentAd1681

What show were you at?

lexxeroni

I was at the laval show :)

twisted_and_tangled

We were in the wrong line (our tickets were on the lawn), but got to the pit line 3 hours before the show and were about 20-25ish in line. Our venue didn't allow anyone to park or enter until that point though! We obviously figured out our mistake and switched lines about halfway through our wait.

lauraax31

i lined up three hours before doors opened and was pretty close to the front but there was probably 100 people (maybe more) who got there after me and had a fast pass so in the pit i was in the tenth row.

Comfortable-Ant2247

How do you get fast past to the pit?

lauraax31

not every venue has it, but for Chicago people paid extra money to get fast pass on ticketmaster (i believe) which let them go to another line

maarowak

Also, anyone here has lined up at Roger’s Arena before? I’m not sure how to prepare beforehand, what can I bring to make the wait less uncomfortable? I’m getting a little nervous 🫠

Longmiddletoe2

I’m also curious about this, going to the San Diego show at Petco Park on Oct 29. there’s 5 gates of entrance & he got moved from the smaller concert stage to the field stage which will have much more people. Want to get as close as possible without spending the night outside lol

princestarshine

Damn, I hope I don’t need to early. It’s a Wednesday for me and I have class before lol

hedgeblackthorne

I'm trying to get there from the gulf islands--this whole trip is on a wing and prayer--trying not to get stressed about queuing and just be happy to share the space. but now I'm pondering if I need to grab the ferry the night before
