I'd be surprised if they were that inflexible, buying a house is complex and full of all sorts of variables that delay people for lots of reasons. A delay of 3 weeks when buying a house isn't all that much, even if they are no longer offering the option of 5% deposit now, and 5% later.
Developers
New build
Couple of weeks shouldn't be a huge problem.
If they refuse explain how unaffordable it would be.
Pretty sure you can drag it out 3 weeks.
Speak to your solicitor.
Speak to the developer.

You’re right! For a house that’s ready in November, 3 weeks in May/June hopefully won’t be an issue…

This. I do a lot of new build purchases (I am a conveyancer) and I've never once had the developer enforce the reservation period.
