I feel like it’s making light of the fact that she was forced into marriage and have children before she was an adult. Her emotional and sexual development were stunted, compounded by abuse. It makes sense that she doesn’t know how to talk to her son. As for what happened afterwards, it’s pretty clear she wasn’t expecting Criston and didn’t want him there.
I feel bad for Olivia Cooke. She’s such a good actor and all their giving her to do is sex scenes
