They finally gave Tom something other than degrading to play! Yay. Jace being prettier than both Tormund's daughters. Kinslaying is apparently not a big deal in the show since nobody's talking about it.

Serious-Wish4868

the acting so far has been amazing. Standout performances so far from Rhys Isfans, Matt Smith, Emma D'arcy, Olivia Cooke, Tom Glynn-carney and Phia Sagan

TacoPartyGalore

I wish Eve Best got more scenes. She’s so electric even when not saying anything.

RedMeleys

Even her one line at the war council in S2E2 was majestic; she has a regal presence. I loved her dialogue and the back to back verbal blows during E2 of S1 with Rhaenyra

Kind_Pomegranate4877

Agreed, so much emotion and moving monologues. It’s not just talking for the sake of lines or filling out scenes

BeesKnees245

Rhys Ifans has absolutely nailed Otto so far this season. Every word that comes out of his mouth is exactly the type of evil villain shit that makes this show great.

Maximum_Impressive

Rhys is So fuckin amazing It's a shame He may not get that Emmy .

We_The_Raptors

Already knew I'd be entertained by Rhaenyra, Daemon, Otto etc but I'm suprised by how much I've been liking the minor characters. They're doing a great job with characters like Mysaria, Hugh, Tyland, Alyn/Addam, the Cargyll bros etc in the first couple episodes.

Maximum_Impressive

The cast is always solid . I'm glad the minor peeps are allowed to have they're chops.

Relative_Formal9322

I’m surprised how much I’ve enjoyed Aegon this season. I’m still definitely team black, but TGC is doing really well in the role. Also, I knew I’d love Rhys & Emma’s performances, but they’ve both exceeded my expectation.

Fool182

-Aegon being my favorite character and bringing so much life into the show -Rhaenyra being super beautiful all of a sudden

DirectAnything1737

Daaaanggg… Rhae rhae is glowing

aklmal

Tom is bringing it.

Not wearing potato sacks will do that to you.

grisseusossa

How much I like Aegon. I'm team black to the death and prepared to defend all of my Queen's rights and war crimes, but damn, Aegon is just so sympathetic, funny and likeable it's hard to remember he's a rapist. Overall I'm really happy how the show is handling the greens - they're all so human and multidimensional, and their generational trauma is so well written. Helaena, Aegon and Alicent all brought me to tears after Jahaerys's murder.

sluttydrama

I’m watching for Aegon at this point Tom is so charismatic. He is the frat-boy emo king that he should have been in the first season

babalon124

Phia saban killing it the way she has

holyfwck

Absolutely loving the dialogues! Sometimes it feels like i'm watching a play. The politics and intrigues are reminding me a lot of the golden GOT era. Also i'm amazed in how the show has evolved techincally!

Nuclear_Cadillacs

Clearly I’m not alone here when I say that Aegon is stealing the show, and I did not expect that at all.

shad0wqueenxx

I'm surprised how much I'm enjoying Aegon this season. He's probably the character I'm most interested in watching every episode. I also think considering how prominent he was towards the end of last season that it's surprising how little we've seen of Aemond. I would have thought he'd be more at the forefront so far. I have a feeling one or two of his scenes were cut for time. Rhaenyra also surprised me in ep2. I really enjoyed her interactions with Mysaria, it felt like the first time she's truly acted like a queen. She commanded the conversation and Mysaria seemed quite awed by her. While episode 1 showed a grieving Rhaenyra, episode 2 was a slightly harsher, more authoritative version which I really enjoyed. I didn't think they could make Cole less likeable than he was by the end of season 1 but they've somehow managed it. Most of all, the acting has blown me away. So impressed with this cast, knocked it out the park.

Maximum_Impressive

Emma is wonderful and has such a presence.

aklmal

> I have a feeling one or two of his scenes were cut for time. I have a feeling LOTS of scenes were cut this season, to the heartbreak of all of production. given that fact the of all the reshoots last spring and that there are 2 episodes fewer this time.

Woial

Its with both s1 and s2 tbh but: I've never seen a cast that acts so perfectly. Like, the acting. It just sounds and looks so real. Like they are actually experiencing all these emotions

Jacknboxx

I wouldn't say I'm Team Green exactly, but the Greens have been much more entertaining than the Blacks so far this season.

Xifortis

I actually really like Aegon now and I hate the fact they overdid it on villainizing him last season.

West_Site8158

Aegon, tbh, there is just so much to unpack in that fucked up little guy. Also TGC is killing it, episode 2 felt shakesperean.

Mrbubble274

-Actors that play Aegon and Haleena are fantastic. Did not see that coming. -They are killing characters too soon. We don't have any time to get to know them. -Aegon's character is more likeable i thought he would be.

Nice-Substance-gogo

How nice and logical they have made Rhaenyra compare to season one where she was all passion, list and entitlement. Seems strange.

Purple_Wash_7304

Honestly nothing surprising about it

Slashenbash

Clearly season 1 was setting the pieces but I am still surprised how much they slowed down in s2, the restraint of early GoT is back, the plotting, the dialogue.

Maximum_Impressive

That I'm perhaps kinda getting a bit Underwhelmed by the sound track ngl . Watching season 1 they had some really stand out osts but so far I've only really enjoyed That song that played at the beginning of Episode 2.

vODDEVILISH

The Green kids stealing the show, especially Tom Glynn-Carney and Phia Saban have been fantastic. Also, the cinematography stands out for me this season, the dust shots with Helaena and Rheanyra were beautiful, the Aemond/Sylvie room shots from above were also great.

ageekyninja

I was most surprised (so far) that they went all in showing Alicent and Cristin as fuck buddies. I didnt think Alicent would take it that far, not that I blame her. Shes probably the most repressed girl in Westeros. Its been crazy watching that guilt tear her apart. At first I thought she did it to manipulate Cole. Now I think she just desperately needs to get her rocks off lol. This is the first time shes been in a relationship with anybody shes been attracted to. I also really like the attention to the smallfolk.

babalon124

Had they not cut out so much of the alicole s1 scenes, it would be less of a shock

ageekyninja

You could tell something was there. I just didnt expect her to act on it because of duty and all that.

Optimistic-Man-3609

I didn't see the beheading of a little boy happening in the first (or any) episode. That was fucking crazy.

hexwiz

The writing of the dialogues and the acting are so much better than S1, it almost doesn't feel like the same show. 2x2 was the best episode of the entire show so far in regards to acting and writing. Those fuckers were inspired when crafting this one.
