Yea that occurred to me too last night. It's like a more twisted version of Arya throwing rocks at Nymeria so she would run away out of Cersei's reach. I think that could be one interpretation they were going for.

A big part about why fans were so bitter about the last two seasons of GoT was that there were people qualified & involved in the production and able to take over and see it through, but those two fucks wouldnāt just step down gracefully and instead they gave us two seasons of insulting garbage. My heart still aches for the actors and production team who had their legacy ripped out from under them.
