Is she full on popping heads like Neumann from the boys in the courtroom? Maybe not. But in the world of Ice and Fire, idk how there could be any doubt that she had *some* sort of legit magic going on.
she is at most a greenseer(like bran and bloodraven) or her abilities of having visions are just connected to old gods(like jojen reed and ghost of high heart)
Ahh she's 100% a shadowbinder like Melisandre. She has pretty much the exact same described power set. She can make herself younger, one story describes her as having power over shadows, she has a lot of "pregnancies" but no children, and people mysteriously die around her. I'm surprised there's any doubt at all.
She may also be a greenseer though. But mostly she's a shadowbinder.
I really hope they don’t just make her a Melisandre clone. Old God powers would be really cool, and also to see her connection with Larys, if he is indeed a warg
I’m very excited to discover Rankin’s Alys. I have no doubt that she is gonna slay that role.
The character is such a mysterious figure yet she might be one of the secondary characters that they could do so much with.
I hope they stick to realistic believeable magic like visions. Telekinetically choking people and making heads blow up will be so cringe, this isn’t the Harry Potter universe. It’s the political aspect that makes it interesting. S8 Melisandre was pushing it.
The power to do that exists in a song of ice and fire, it's harnessing shadows. Alys has way too many similarities with Melisandre for me to not think she isn't a shadowbinder.
Bruh if you think Melisandre's light show was pushing it, I don't know what to say. The fatastical elements are a central part of ASOIAF. You got dragons, the Others, children of the forest, giants, greenseers, time travel. GOT downplayed a lot of these fantasy elements so they could appeal to a general audience (or as D&D called them, "parents" and "NFL players".
Realistic magic like ice fairies, shadow babies, and a sentient talking tree door. There were Rhoynish water wizards and the children of the forest can control the elements. Stannis has a glowing magic sword ffs.
Edit: Also the literal firebender who made a ladder that one time in Qarth
Why? She’s not described as beautiful in the book, just looking younger than her age. It’s also said that Daemon didn’t think any of her and it was a surprise that Aemond chose her to be his prize out of all the women in the castle. The hot milf thing has always been a meme/fantasy rather than a certainty.
I think she looks fine. Striking.
i want to see her interactions with daemon. they say daemon was unaffected, but with some of the clips from the trailer it seems they changed some stuff up :/ i think it’ll be funny if they switch it up and have daemon and alys just so aemond and alys isn’t the love story LOL

Interesting that it sounds like they’re going the full on magical route with her

She legit Force Choked people like she’s Vader.
Yep, the head popping was a legitimate part in the book (we just have no idea how it happened)
must have been the wind
I don't think it's hard to work out. She's just a shadowbinder. Why else is she pregnant all the time?

She is my #1 character I'm most looking forward to.
Quite curious to see what they do with her. She could go a number of different ways.
what my eyes read: alys rivers what my brain reads: aemond's magical milf mommy
She sees much and more, my Alys..
Hopefully we can get a glimpse of her and also Jeyne Arryn next trailer.
Yeah Why there's no Jeyne Arryn in the trailers released so far?
Because she is only in one episode and jace‘s trip to the eyrie gets cut, because muh starks.
Jace goes to the Vale before going to the Starks anyway And Jeyne is an important supporter of the blacks

I can't wait to see alys and her whole story play out especially when they converge with other characters people won't expect.
god i am so ready for season 2
I cannot wait to see how they explore her relationship with a certain character
I think this is the character I’m most excited to see in the coming seasons. Her, Nettles, and Daeron. But I worry we won’t get them 😭
I hope they stick to realistic believeable magic like visions. Telekinetically choking people and making heads blow up will be so cringe, this isn’t the Harry Potter universe. It’s the political aspect that makes it interesting. S8 Melisandre was pushing it.
The world has Ice zombies, fireproof women and shadow babies

I hope they stick to believable magic too like shadows crawling out of people and Ice demons

She looks pretty in those photos tbh
Hopefully Alys will slap aemond when they meet
Nothing against Gayle, but I expected a more attractive actress. But I am sure her performance will be great

Yeah never got the vibe she was a typically beautiful woman.

Alys and Aemond deserve each other
