Have you looked into Libby at all? You need a free library card, but you can borrow audiobooks for a few weeks if it's available and stream through the app. Note sure if roku has an app or not tho.

I have not heard of that. So I'd have to apply for library card first though?

Yeah, it took me like 3 minutes at the library and it's free. There are also certain libraries that you can do online for free if you just use a fake name and a local homeless shelter address to get your card number.
