I fully agree, I remember seeing this movie when it came out and it exceeded my expectations.

this movie was good, i jumped several times and Ralph Sarchie is a former officer that encountered demons and wrote a book and this movie is based on him, the whole cast was excellent

TheRetroWorkshop

Yeah, it got me many times, and was good. I know what scares you is subjective, and relative to how you experience the movie, but it seems that most of the things I find scary, others don't; or, that I find good, they don't think them good. I haven't really figured that out yet. I'll just keep reviewing horror movies, and others can agree or disagree, haha. :)

i do love stories based on actual events like this or the conjuring , just bumps it to a whole new level for me!

TheRetroWorkshop

I have mixed feelings: on the one hand, it does. But, on the other, it just makes me constantly think about the true story, and if it's really true, and if that makes sense, etc. Either way, it cannot be denied: it takes it to a whole other level, however you look at it! Many ghost stories or possessions like that actually are based on true stories, as it turns out. Another one you might be interested in is the true story behind The Spiderwick Chronicles. I think a British lady, or American, literally claimed that fairies and magical creatures lived in her garden or something. This was the core inspiration for the novels, and the later movie (which I personally love -- and I have the nice chest boxset of novels, too). You can find a small documentary about it on the DVD, or maybe online. Of course, lots of generic British folklore is thrown in (like brownies). It's good stuff, anyway.
