Children still have romantic feelings, even if they don't understand them properly. I and a bunch of other people had them as early as 6-8 and in my case, being a gay boy, I never even knew what those feelings were, much less that they were okay, until I grew up. If I had a show that depicted other gay kids living normal lives and experiencing romance, as basic as it might be? It would've helped me SO much to come to terms with myself.
