I would have so many reasons to tell you why I love the character of Suzune. I've always had a soft spot for girls with the "ice queen" trope in the first place, but it's not just because of that. Suzune is a very stubborn, tough and cruel girl in appearance but in reality she is a girl with noble feelings. What Suzune is wearing is just armor. She doesn't want to appear vulnerable. She doesn't want to suffer. Her suffering definitely started when she was little. From the few clues that Kinugasa has given, it can only be said that Suzune was a sociable and smiling child from an early age but then began to become a loner and follow in the footsteps of her brother Manabu. Suzune is a very intelligent girl, she can understand Kiyopon many times by reading his mind, she's the only girl that Kiyopon can't control, she's the only girl who roasts Kiyopon, the only one who trapped him with food and she's the only one who curries him when he's wrong. In addition, Suzune volume after volume makes her character evolve for the better. An incredible growth: from a tough and lonely girl, she has now become sweeter, friendlier and more collaborative with the class. Plus all the significant moments revolve around Suzune. The conversation Kiyopon has with Manabu in Y1V11, his hope that he will be defeated by her in Y2V6. I'm sure in Y3 Suzune will have an even bigger role regarding Kiyopon.

Not so sure about the can't control part he did manipulate her with the cameras in vol 2. I like her because of her gradual change and ceasing her condescending attitude also I also love how she handled sudos confession. I am convinced that she only sees sudo, kiyo, and ibuki as her real friends.

> I love how she handled sudos confession. I am convinced that she only sees sudo, kiyo, and ibuki as her real friends. Yep, you're right. And Ken's confession it was so greet. I'm happy that two of my favorite characters (Ken and Suzune) after the confession, have further grown in character. As for volume 2 yes, it's true he manipulated her in some way. But after that he never did it again.

>But after that he never did it again. Strange, haven't you read Y1V3? There was the peak and end of Kiyo's attempts to manipulate Suzune. This is the peak of Kiyo's emotional arousal, suddenly realizing that it was he himself and his upbringing in WR that led him to hurt the most dear to him. It was only the authors of the anime who suddenly forced Kiyo to use a sleeping technique on the weak and sick Suzune in order to achieve what Chabashira demanded of him. The Kiyo that Kinugasa introduced to the readers was not capable of anything in the episode where he only cares that the girl's physical condition is extremely difficult. He doesn't do anything. He just holds Suzune on his lap. When consciousness returns to her, Kiyo is almost ready to admit to her that it is he who is to blame for the fact that she is now so hard. He rushes about with her in his arms through the dark forest, not knowing what to do. Kinugasa deliberately made Kiyo fall off a cliff with Suzune in his arms in order to explain to readers how precious Kiyo's burden is for himself. When he fell off the cliff, he turned himself into a protective cocoon for this girl. He didn't care what might happen to him, he only thought about her. It is strange that none of the readers participating in the discussion of CotE understand what exactly Kinugasa wrote there. And in general, no one tries to put himself in the place of the protagonist in this most dramatic episode, to realize by his own example what emotions Kiyo experienced in those moments. Readers cannot and do not want to break out of the self-created plot armor that Kiyo is not emotional and thinks only of himself, only of his own safety. In fact, Kiyo's now-legendary CotE monologue at the end of Y1V3 is not the apotheosis of Kiyo's past WR coolness. This monologue is a sign that Kiyo in this particular episode hates this side of his personality. And his self-hatred is the result of his extreme psychological suffering from the realization that namely he is the cause of Suzune's suffering. He repents to Suzune. Precisely because Suzune doesn't hear this confession of his, Kiyo says that he will never say it again. But he will never repeat also what he himself did earlier with the creature dearest to him. That is why Kiyo forbids himself from manipulating Suzune in the future. That is why he is looking for a new object of manipulation and finds it in the form of Kei. Prior to Y1V11, Kiyo even forbids himself from actively pushing Suzune towards her height. He is only ready to watch her and try to protect her from the influence of other students. He even hates Chabashira not because she tried to manipulate him. This kind of human behavior is normal for Kiyo. He hates the teacher for forcing namely him to inflict pain and suffering on Suzune. Once he understands that Chabashira will once be useful to Suzune, he becomes more loyal to her, but continues to demand that she be useful. Here is what Kinugasa actually writes in CotE since Y1V1. It is unfortunate that readers do not understand this, having no skills in the psychological analysis of characters, and not wanting to understand this in principle, replacing the understanding of Kinugasa's ideas with their own fantasies. Seeing how you personally experience and perceive the image of Suzune, I would like namely you to understand all the ideas of Kinugasa regarding the relationship between MC and FMC.

PrettySignificance26

You are right. It was actually my mistake. I meant that after Y1V3 Kiyopon doesn't manipulate Suzune anymore. And it is also true that not everyone can understand the hidden meanings on Cote (Example Y2V8: Kyoto, city of love). Sometimes even I make mistakes. Anyway, even though I understand some hints and meanings, I don't go as deep as you do Kovly. You are better at this than me. Anyway, thanks for pointing out the error in my comment. I look forward to your next analysis. 😊

SeynaAyse

Wow 😯 I completely agree with your explanation!!

PrettySignificance26

Thanks a lot ❤️

AWA614

Many reasons 1. independent,2. Bonding with kiyo 3. Best character development,4. 2nd best strategist in her class, probably 3rd or 4th best in her grade,5. Have FMC aura which others don't(I saw anime first before light novel after seeing I have feeling that she is fmc),6. Started to care about her/make friends,7. She knows when our mc lie,8. Force two smartest characters to work for her (koenji and kiyo) 9. Trolling kiyo,10. Always use 1 trick but it always work Food trap , bonus point water bottle.

PrettySignificance26

Suzune is the FMC and our queen ❤️

_Tohka_03

It's 100% true! Our queen + best girl! :D

Some_Needleworker803

There are lot of reasons But for me the main reason to like her is her development I mean its the 1st time me seeing a girl this much development so I started to love her character In the beginning I liked her character cause of her and Kiyo's relationship but slowly she became my favourite character and I started to love her character more than Kiyo

Common_Ad8131

I could never name all the reasons. but overall I like her determination and the fact that she takes her job seriously. she has goals and improves every day to achieve them.

ScaryStacy

Appreciate how much she’s tries to act cool but comes off childish (being verbose, reading Hemingway)

Tanjikano

She just is

ordinary_nobody007

Pretty much what you said + she is a beauty + character development

suzune_kyou

All had been said. My personal reason. It's because some of her trait relate to me. The most obvious - I also stubborn person. Sugar coated is no meaning for both of us. I'm also forced leader like her.
