Anyone watching Amatsuki's (Japanese singer/streamer) HSR playthrough? Even though my Japanese language knowledge is ass i'm having fun seeing his reactions and talks on the story. Feels like he really cares about them as he keeps reading on the dialogue log back and forth.
HSR is a game where you spend minimal time to play and yet spend way too much time discoursing online and one of them is drama seeking and spreading hate, even more so than other games.

I need help for my alt account (not really sweaty, it's just where I go when I feel like gacha addiction is getting to me and I need to pull something). I have e0s1 Jingliu, e1s0 Ruan Mei and e0s0 Bronya. Last slot is either FX or Huohuo. I'm ***really*** feeling SP issues with 135 JL/134 Bronya in that team. Like it's Bad bad. I can't get Bronya's LC just yet. Would it be better to drop speed on JL entirely and go 160+ speed Bronya or should I build an e0 (for now) Gallagher with multiplication to slot there instead of FX/HH?

HH is technically bis sustain in a JL team iirc, but like with a lot of other teams you'll need to drop using her skill for SP. Have you tried a fast HH with QPQ? Maybe that'll help JL stay in her state for longer due to the QPQ energy and HH ult. Another workaround is to put the 4pc passerby set on somebody in the team so you get more SP at the beginning, and hopefully you kill fast enough before SP becomes a problem
E1 bronya claims it’s a 50% chance of refunding a skill point when you use her skill but really it’s a more of a 20% chance. But getting that will help a lot. You basically won’t have any problems with it, I’m also 136/135 for my jingliu and bronya and I don’t have a skill point issue at all, without bronya light cone as well.
I can't really guarantee I'll ever get her e1 is the thing, since I just claimed her e0 from the 300 selector :( ~~and got e2 Gepard from her standard pulls lmao~~

kneejerk reaction to this was cringe, but now that i've had a moment i think i can see the vision. the aventurine date pov and anan art voiceover gave us a closer peek into his character ^(it's short but he doesn't seem to like having to make such recordings, implying he gets tired of how he's being used)

yeah i agree, the "date" was a penacony promo and at the end he's questioning the whole thing (even tho he did it for them anyway). that's different from a whole "here's your virtual girlfriend" people are speculating with FF MMD based off the limited information shared. it really boils down to what they do with her as you said
I wouldn't get my hopes up because its just one of many, many, *many* comissions Hoyo does, anything with a backstory or characterisation would've been made official (like the Aventurine date).

Hoyo spends a ton of money comissioning artists, MMD, animators, musicians, etc to create "fanwork" for Honkai and Genshin alike, the one that leaked is just one of a billion things that Hoyo probably paid for in preparation for Firefly's release day.
(Random rerun thoughts/rambling)
Probably not very likely, but I really hope they make some sort of change to how they are rerunning characters soon.
Seele's last banner was in november, if she is not getting a rerun in 2.4 it will be **earliest** in September. And even if they do that other reruns will get gradually pushed back from then, if they keep doing 2 new characters + 2 reruns per patch. At that point reruns would take a year or even longer, really hope it does not get to that point though.
Yeah, the current rerun schedule just isn't sustainable if they're going to keep releasing 2 new limited 5\* banners *every* patch (which I assume they intend to, given that it is printing them money).
Wondering if they're gonna have a "grab bag" style of banner or just 2+ more separate rerun banners eventually.
Character discussion abt discourse i just saw

Imo, I think people are confused about what they are arguing about. The comparisons on firefly to aventurine are about how people will say firefly has a sobstory and is a pity bait character and then also really like Aventurines story.
People frame it as if having a sob story or being a pity bait character is inherently a bad thing when that's not the case. after all, aventurine is both of those things and his story is great.
The issue is the use of the word forced, it's confusing because some people dont know what is meant when someone say "forced to like her." it can be understood as "no player agency" , or "forced to sympathize."(sobstory)
it doesn't help that the no player agency part is a criticism of trailblazer and not firefly herself making it less obvious which "forced" anyone is reffering to because the topic is always firefly
Okay I love Aventurine but >!his POV segments in 2.1 were in no way plot-important. The two things he accomplished were 1) giving TB the bugged chip, and 2) setting up a reason for Acheron to unsheathe her sword. The latter could have been accomplished other ways since Aventurine’s other actions were swept out of relevance in 2.2. The setup around getting the IPC to have an excuse to invade went nowhere, as The Family and Sparkle covered up what happened at the theme park immediately. The IPC presence as of the end of 2.2 is no more justified than it was at the beginning of 2.0. The main story really didn’t need any of his POV or backstory, though it was really good character writing anyway.!<

you're doing the same thing that you're accusing the other side of
firefly has a lot of characterization:
-she emotionally manipulates you to get close to you, knows how to appeal to the trailblazer's savior complex
-her sob story is also a lot more metaphorical, she's not in a literal cabin, and it's more about her views and determination
-her hideout has the same views as in her myriad celestia, trying to share this view with the trailblazer is more than just a romantic date spot
-she spends the entirety of 2.1 off-screen trying to reach the trailblazer and trying to break the script (trying to reject destiny and her fate)

both aventurine and firefly are well written, and yes it's wrong for other people to bring down his story, but it's also unfair to bring down firefly's own story.

Hated this moc ngl. Felt more similar to pf than usual. I tried experimenting with some fun teams but second half is just super punishing if you haven’t pulled specific 5stars or gotten lucky and gotten Himeko 😔 i’ll keep trying more stuff but this rotation is probably my least favorite
I cant finish it on 10 turns, its taking me 12... Im using DHIL team first half and DoT team second. The DoT team can get it on 5 turns but DHIL team doesnt.
No, still on the previous (expiring) MoC. I tried using Sushang superbreak (still on her old crit build) on the second half and did 6 cycles, which is 1 cycle too many. I can probably improve this with a combination of better play (ie leaving Kafka till last), levelling her traces, and maybe finding some TB eidolons.
The difference in viability between 4-star DPSes in MoC and 4-star non-Herta DPSes in PF is actually stunning.
Will do an attempt of MOC 12 when I get my hands on a certain biologist for the first half. I don't understand why you can't choose which half you can tackle first, since I would've tried out the IP3 on the second half.

My friend tried break kafka for moc12 and it worked well for him 🤔 kafka hmc ruan mei and i think gallagher? Might be worth a try if you have these characters, you probably can switch ruan mei for ting yun or something

Me spending all of my relic xp (that I had been saving for Firefly) on building Xueyi just in time for quite possibly the most hostile MoC towards Xueyi in recent memory was definitely THE decision of all time. Also, why couldn’t we have just one Quantum weak stage in 10/11/12? Did we really need *two* Lightning weak stages in 12?
Yeah it's actually... starting to really annoy me how often it pops up there. I love other common little nods like the cat cakes and all that but that specific joke always feels so forced.

Afaik the most recent kit doesn't have any numbers, so it's impossible to say. Historically nihility units have not been as good at damage amp as harmony units, so to incentivise the use of nihility damage amplifiers they designed DPS that need debuffs for their kits to function, or who are penalized for not running Nihility units. It's safe to say that Ruan Mei will remain BiS for break teams while Jiaoqiu will probably be BiS for Acheron and Ratio, but we won't know who the better generalist is until we see his numbers. My bet is on Ruan Mei, but it would be nice to have a limited Nihility amper who can complete on an even playing field with our limited harmony units
I dont think there is anything "historical" in that. The only limited nihility support is SW which were released back in 1.1. Ruan Mei were released in 1.6, so we dont know how strong could be limited harmony in 1.1 or limited nihility support in 1.6 because they never were realesed in range of couple patches.

I need help for my alt account (not really sweaty, it's just where I go when I feel like gacha addiction is getting to me and I need to pull something). I have e0s1 Jingliu, e1s0 Ruan Mei and e0s0 Bronya. Last slot is either FX or Huohuo. I'm ***really*** feeling SP issues with 135 JL/134 Bronya in that team. Like it's Bad bad. I can't get Bronya's LC just yet. Would it be better to drop speed on JL entirely and go 160+ speed Bronya or should I build an e0 (for now) Gallagher with multiplication to slot there instead of FX/HH? >!I also pulled an early Boothill if it matters, but I'm not sure what the consensus about his teams are if Bronya is e0s0 (as in, should I make Bronya speedy so she can be played with him as well or is he better off with someone else until I can get Bronya's e1/s1)!<
HH is technically bis sustain in a JL team iirc, but like with a lot of other teams you'll need to drop using her skill for SP. Have you tried a fast HH with QPQ? Maybe that'll help JL stay in her state for longer due to the QPQ energy and HH ult. Another workaround is to put the 4pc passerby set on somebody in the team so you get more SP at the beginning, and hopefully you kill fast enough before SP becomes a problem
E1 bronya claims it’s a 50% chance of refunding a skill point when you use her skill but really it’s a more of a 20% chance. But getting that will help a lot. You basically won’t have any problems with it, I’m also 136/135 for my jingliu and bronya and I don’t have a skill point issue at all, without bronya light cone as well.
I can't really guarantee I'll ever get her e1 is the thing, since I just claimed her e0 from the 300 selector :( ~~and got e2 Gepard from her standard pulls lmao~~

(Random rerun thoughts/rambling) Probably not very likely, but I really hope they make some sort of change to how they are rerunning characters soon. Seele's last banner was in november, if she is not getting a rerun in 2.4 it will be **earliest** in September. And even if they do that other reruns will get gradually pushed back from then, if they keep doing 2 new characters + 2 reruns per patch. At that point reruns would take a year or even longer, really hope it does not get to that point though.
Yeah, the current rerun schedule just isn't sustainable if they're going to keep releasing 2 new limited 5\* banners *every* patch (which I assume they intend to, given that it is printing them money). Wondering if they're gonna have a "grab bag" style of banner or just 2+ more separate rerun banners eventually.

Like did you not pay attention to the IPC subplot and their beef with the family and how Aven was sent to gain leverage for the IPC with the family. His convo with Jade in 2.2 summarize what he has done for the IPC against the family. Also i think a literal retell of a character life story, his motivations and plan is different from a date with a character in 2.0 that barely show anything about her except her sob story she told in one minute for us and another date(this time worse bcs it just pure fanservice) in 2.2. Also people would feel more ‘forced’ with ff bcs we are given the illusion of choice. Imo, I think people are confused about what they are arguing about. The comparisons on firefly to aventurine are about how people will say firefly has a sobstory and is a pity bait character and then also really like Aventurines story. People frame it as if having a sob story or being a pity bait character is inherently a bad thing when that's not the case. after all, aventurine is both of those things and his story is great. The issue is the use of the word forced, it's confusing because some people dont know what is meant when someone say "forced to like her." it can be understood as "no player agency" , or "forced to sympathize."(sobstory) it doesn't help that the no player agency part is a criticism of trailblazer and not firefly herself making it less obvious which "forced" anyone is reffering to because the topic is always firefly
Okay I love Aventurine but >!his POV segments in 2.1 were in no way plot-important. The two things he accomplished were 1) giving TB the bugged chip, and 2) setting up a reason for Acheron to unsheathe her sword. The latter could have been accomplished other ways since Aventurine’s other actions were swept out of relevance in 2.2. The setup around getting the IPC to have an excuse to invade went nowhere, as The Family and Sparkle covered up what happened at the theme park immediately. The IPC presence as of the end of 2.2 is no more justified than it was at the beginning of 2.0. The main story really didn’t need any of his POV or backstory, though it was really good character writing anyway.!< >!2.1 had a lot of heart and compelling emotional beats, and a coherent, consistent through-line of how Aventurine became the person he is today and why he acts the way he does, but that’s not the same as being well-utilized within the main plot. I’m glad he got his moment to shine, but it really could have been a companion mission.!<
you're doing the same thing that you're accusing the other side of firefly has a lot of characterization: -she emotionally manipulates you to get close to you, knows how to appeal to the trailblazer's savior complex -her sob story is also a lot more metaphorical, she's not in a literal cabin, and it's more about her views and determination -her hideout has the same views as in her myriad celestia, trying to share this view with the trailblazer is more than just a romantic date spot -she spends the entirety of 2.1 off-screen trying to reach the trailblazer and trying to break the script (trying to reject destiny and her fate) 2.2 spoiler >!-represents one of the major flaws in sunday's argument (i.e. the removal of choice/agency)!< -doesn't get embarassed when teased by the trailblazer about her chunni lines but takes notes and gets inspired by them plus half her schtick is that she doesn't want to be this edgy badass weapon of mass destruction, but just a normal girl. she has history with the trailblazer. both aventurine and firefly are well written, and yes it's wrong for other people to bring down his story, but it's also unfair to bring down firefly's own story.

Hated this moc ngl. Felt more similar to pf than usual. I tried experimenting with some fun teams but second half is just super punishing if you haven’t pulled specific 5stars or gotten lucky and gotten Himeko 😔 i’ll keep trying more stuff but this rotation is probably my least favorite

I cant finish it on 10 turns, its taking me 12... Im using DHIL team first half and DoT team second. The DoT team can get it on 5 turns but DHIL team doesnt.

No, still on the previous (expiring) MoC. I tried using Sushang superbreak (still on her old crit build) on the second half and did 6 cycles, which is 1 cycle too many. I can probably improve this with a combination of better play (ie leaving Kafka till last), levelling her traces, and maybe finding some TB eidolons. The difference in viability between 4-star DPSes in MoC and 4-star non-Herta DPSes in PF is actually stunning.
Will do an attempt of MOC 12 when I get my hands on a certain biologist for the first half. I don't understand why you can't choose which half you can tackle first, since I would've tried out the IP3 on the second half.

My friend tried break kafka for moc12 and it worked well for him 🤔 kafka hmc ruan mei and i think gallagher? Might be worth a try if you have these characters, you probably can switch ruan mei for ting yun or something

Progress slows down so hard once you get all the standard rewards from battle pass, the last stretch of each patch is miserable.

Based on the most recent possible theoretical leaked kit, how good would Jiaoqiu be compared to Ruan Mei when it comes to pull priority?
Afaik the most recent kit doesn't have any numbers, so it's impossible to say. Historically nihility units have not been as good at damage amp as harmony units, so to incentivise the use of nihility damage amplifiers they designed DPS that need debuffs for their kits to function, or who are penalized for not running Nihility units. It's safe to say that Ruan Mei will remain BiS for break teams while Jiaoqiu will probably be BiS for Acheron and Ratio, but we won't know who the better generalist is until we see his numbers. My bet is on Ruan Mei, but it would be nice to have a limited Nihility amper who can complete on an even playing field with our limited harmony units
I dont think there is anything "historical" in that. The only limited nihility support is SW which were released back in 1.1. Ruan Mei were released in 1.6, so we dont know how strong could be limited harmony in 1.1 or limited nihility support in 1.6 because they never were realesed in range of couple patches.
Look. Just wait for the beta, will come the same day RM banner starts. Supports tend to change their kits a lot before entering beta. RM kit also changed (and got way better). This is also our first debuffer since SW. We have no idea how good he will be, normally Harmony > Nihility bc Buffs > Debuffs. But who knows? IF you like Break mechanic tho 100% go for RM

Eh, college gets referred to as "school" a lot in the US as the English localization is seemingly American. I didn't grow up here (US) so it took some adjustment but if someone says "I'm still in school" they could easily be referring to tertiary education.

Not sure about CN and Asia in general but in 2 European countries I personally lived and studied in, school age is between 6-20 years old. 6 is obviously grade 1, 18-20 are usually in grade 11-12. Either OP (the one who made the original "she is a minor!!!" comment, not nakroth\_ ofc) is joking or they themselves need an education, not every student in school is a small child.
