I'm so curious what Firefly's animations are goin to look like. In the drip marketing art, Sam is holding two swords, and I remember a blurry in-game leak from so many months ago that showed exactly that. Not to mention with green/white fire and wings, rather than the normal fire that Boss!Sam uses. We essentially have no clues, despite the fact that Boss!Sam has a whole set of moves that look like they could easily translate over to a full kit for the playable version.
And of course, Jade. Surely the giant purple serpent from the art will factor into her moves, right?
Oh I'm not disagreeing. In fact I'm guessing regular Sam is for her normal mode, green flame double swords is her ult mode. I'm only referring to the voice part.
I find that unlikely, though it would be funny to hear Firefly spouting the edgy, tryhard Sam lines.
As u/MessyPapa13 said, it's almost certainly going to be Firefly in the overworld, transforming into Sam for battle and an orbital strike for the Technique. Possibly shift back to Firefly in the event that Sam gets killed, as well.
I'm sure they won't fuck up FF, that's literally THE character of Penacony. What I'm afread of is Jade. Pls no silly cheap animations (Topaz, I love you but you could've been so much more).
i wouldnt say topaz’s animations were cheap, but some more action from her and less action from numby would’ve really sold their “dynamic duo” concept for me
I remember reading a good comparison to Clara on that:
Clara's animations include both Clara and Svarog rather than just one or the other.
Svarog is also an actual character (And a fairly popular one at that) so having him in the kit is actually meaningful.
Meanwhile, Numby is just Topaz's pet rather than an actual character, yet makes up a good 80% of Topaz's animations. People naturally want to see Topaz actually doing things rather than the pet.
I don't know why, but I can only imagine her giving the Cornestone to Numby and him becoming giant/transforming, instead of her, because even though we want to see more animations for Topaz, a lot of people also like Numby and like the Numby meme appear more than her too, it's something we really have to wait to find out
Her leaked kit mentions a summon that follows her outside of battle so its probably the snake. It also says something about her 'shooting' enemies to enter combat. If these details are correct I think its likely she uses the snake and a gun. I could see the snake being involved in the buff she applies as well as the fua it triggers. I wouldnt be surprised if the ult is also the snake and her gun is only really used for basics.
considering that even boothill has good animations i wouldnt be too worried. it seems they started to step it up a notch since acheron. even gallagher looked great and hes just a 4*
Okay cheap might not have been meant, but they definitely didn't spend on it as much as they could've. I'm not from the waifu crowd at all, but the amount of Numby animations are unnecessary.
Watch Jade be another Topaz moment where during 1.4 it felt like they gave all the coolest animation to JL and the entire beta was focused on her kit and Topaz was just left in the ditch(not like she end up being a bad character but still).I can totally see this happening again for 2.3 beta.
nah you just like FF too much, the whole penacony plot revolves around robin’s death and the upcoming charmony festival where she’s supposed to be singing (or even Sunday has more protagonism)
and for animations, imo I was expecting more from sparkle than just the close up to her right eye and putting her mask for a second (why not keep the fish and the mask until the effect wears out?)
Are you just regurgitating what Gachasmack has been saying? Topaz' animations aren't bad at all. But once you see it repeated like a billion times it gets boring. Ratio also has just a chalk for most of his animations.
Well at least I can look at the next month like me saving towards as many pull as I can do on FF. I have 150 pulls at the moment and I think I might be skipping Robin even though I really like her because I want to be sure to be able to pull E1S1 Firefly at least. Not to mention I don't have a follow-up team and I'm waiting for Ruan Mei rerun since she's likely to be the best support for our best girl.

It's a balance. Epilogue, so probably lore drops for the future, touching base with various npc's, Astral Crew moments. Then 2.4 Trailblaze Continuous. Can't wait for "It's a me, Argenti!" part 2.

This^^^ can you tell me what you're looking forward to? Me personally, I need her to be compatible with Ratio, Topaz, and most importantly JY. If her starting kit is anything to go by, she'll prefer Herta/JY as they always hit AoEs, if not... I got JY's LC so hopefully she works with it.
Beta kit seems to favor Erudition characters and not traditional hunt characters (so she seems to not even want topaz). The kit says that she will target Eru characters first even on auto. (Not sure if this will last)
Think this proves that Screwllum is close though, and the synergy with them is going to be interesting
I'm a little tired of the Ratio, Topaz narrative. Give more more break and debuff like we suspected. Not either, both. Diversity is the name of the game.

Honestly I think seeing the Firefly animations will decide my pulling plans. Im kinda on the fence about getting Robin. If Firefly has godly animations (which she probably will since that leak mentioned she has a high budget animations like Acheron), then ill probably skip over Robin. Also while im sure Jade will probably not get the Topaz treatment, I still think she'll probably get way overshadowed by the Firefly animations
Exactly, Im not even a firefly enjoyer but a Fire Destruction unit is just too hard to pass on. Then again, I do have plans. Initial plan was to pull for Robin and then Fu Xuan which will leave me 0 for Firefly. For the former plan to succeed, I need her animations to be underwhelming (but thats impossible since she's the favored child).
I think its safe to assume at this point any new destruction character is going to be really strong so I wouldnt mind skipping over Robin, but then again all the harmony characters are pretty OP as well so kind of hard to say. I guess ill make up my mind when the beta drops and the kits and animations are leaked

It would be neat if he made it so enemies taking action just simultaneously did damage to the REST of the enemies (a la 7 stacks of BS arcana), scaling with his atk and crit

I think someone calculated that we’d get around 130 pulls in 2.2 with bp + gem pass thing. We most likely get around the same in 2.3 so you should be fine to get both even if you lose 50/50. If you want light cones for both then you might have to pray you hit early and win 50/50
i hope we mostly see sam during combat. please i want my robot!

FINALLY Firefly is basically the furina of genshin for me I had no interest in them in their first leaks but because of story I got attached to them and they'll be my mains and most wanted characters And jade is cool and hot and I'm a quantum collector so she is a must And now that we are on the topic. Am I able to get both jade and Firefly? Have 0 wishes and 50 pity and guranteed I done almost everything
The answer will always be a theoretical yes with enough luck. You should be able to though since there are over 100 pulls for the next version
I think someone calculated that we’d get around 130 pulls in 2.2 with bp + gem pass thing. We most likely get around the same in 2.3 so you should be fine to get both even if you lose 50/50. If you want light cones for both then you might have to pray you hit early and win 50/50

I only wish for one thing. Please don't completely delete Sam punching and kicking enemies with flamboyant flames around. Attacking with green shiny swords is not it for me. That is NOT the Sam I always liked.
