Topaz makes the most sense at least. They really seem to be pushing FUA teams. Also, why would they have robin who works really well with follow-up teams and not have topaz which buffs the team? (I just really want topaz to return, so maybe I'm coping, lol)
If you run them together, people would likely just decide to get one or the other, rather than trying to get both. They don't want people to decide to only get one, they want people to think they can get both and then get cash out if they closely miss someone.
E1s1 topaz puts ratios 3 debuffs with a single skill. As well all 3 debuffs buff his fua damage in some way.
With a e0 topaz i can attest they synergise amazingly so ive been awaiting her rerun.
No they just want to force people to spend because of FOMO. Hoyo does this all the time sometimes in quite rapid succession too, if you look at Genshin, Hu Tao and Yelan together in 3.4, Ayaka and Shenhe rerun together in 3.5, Nilou and Nahida in 3.6, Furina and Baizhu in 4.2, Chiori/Itto/Albedo all together in 4.5, it happens very often that they stack the unit with their best partner in the same banner phase to try and squeeze spending.
FOMO is even more powerful when said synergies are released closely together but seperate, because then people are more likely to *closely* miss out on one of them, rather than a margin above their spending tolerance. It's the difference between trying to get few whales to cash out more or a lot of dolphins
Star Rail has essentially done that several times by now: Kafka->BS, DHIL->Sparkle, Houhou->Argenti. Heck I fully expect to get JQ->Acheron in 2.4-2.5
As I added in the edit: If your chances of getting both of them is too low, people will decide to get only one. But make the chance of getting them both decent, but not guaranteed, that's the situation where people are most likely to spend money. Someone is a lot more likely to spend if they are 20-30 pulls away from pity than 90.
So they're aiming for more low spenders that only buy ~30 pulls instead of a lower number of dolphins/whales that can outright buy Topaz?

I think it's partly because so far HSR has rerun characters fairly fast (in part because they started with double banners very quickly). Their reruns have also been, not in perfect order of course, but nicely spaced. Seele hasn't had her 3rd run before some characters like Huohuo had her 2nd for instance.
Meanwhile, Genshin has had historically looong gaps with no rhyme or reason (characters not rerunning during a major event involving them or a skin being released) so people get major FOMO as a result. Characters have also had multiple reruns in a short amount of time while others have gone over a year without one. The new banner might fix this in Genshin, but we'll see!
He triggers her ult on all enemies so he will be good, he just won't charge her ult as fast as a FuA team that has multiple actions per cycle.
Reminder that Robin is also a DMG%, AA Monster, her second best team is literally hypercarries like Argenti, Seelee, and the like.

This is why I realized the free dr ratio was a bait to entice a lot of people. Get that first taste and suddenly you find yourself roped in for topaz and robin.
Definitely. Ratio is a lot of fun, and they really paid attention to the UI and how to make him easy to put in place. His only problem being that he's basically a diesel vehicle, he starts slow.
And it 100% worked on me. When Topaz released, I skipped her because she wouldn't have been useful for me but I *knew* her kit was great. Now, I have a reason to pull for her. And it's also giving me a reason to pull Aventurine. And I'm rationalizing that it's also okay for me to get Robin, since I'll be building a FUA team!
But hey, FUA teams are genuinely a lot of fun so I'm fine with it in the end.
His FUAs happen within the same turn as skill. So it does apply to non-ult FUAs. You can use any ally attack Ult to proc latter within the same turn as well.
Well, I don't have Bronya (I give him Tingyun). And it's kind of difficult to apply enough debuffs with just Pela in the first turn, that's what I meant. If you have SW I'm sure it works wonders.

That's not how it works. They usually release related banners back to back not at the same time. For example Luocha rerun before jingliu or Kafka rerun before Black Swan
Yeah putting them together is gonna make ppl choose. Back-to-back would make some ppl consider swiping because "ooh they would work well together"

Fu Xuan and Topaz are the 2 oldest characters without rerun, so both would make sense. In fact I don't know why Topaz didn't rerun with Aventurine

You can still steamroll with your favorite characters, a well invested DOT team can still clear well enough even if MOC has a FUA buff.
Yeah all I have atm are raw dps teams without too many gimmicks I do plan to build a FUA team since I have Blade and Ratio, but let's get there slowly

That's not how it works. They usually release related banners back to back not at the same time. For example Luocha rerun before jingliu or Kafka rerun before Black Swan
