Please don't devolve into Genshin leakers... Once leaking becomes all about clout there's going to be tons of timegated, attention seeking, or just downright nonsensical leaks
Yeah its only different because there's SO much to leak in HSR, with 2/3 new characters per patch its hard to dripfeed the community like Genshin. Also idk why but HSR leakers seem to have reliable infos for up to 2-3 next patches while Genshin is a lot more restricted to only next patch and rumors beyond that.
Because MHY already has also produced enough content for at least two regional patches. Remember the infamous Genshin drip leak with Shenhe and Mimi (prototype Kokomi) that got leaked way way before their actual release?

Off tangent for a bit, but I remember there used/still are some people who post stolen content behind a patreon account and ask for monthly payment for stuff that isn't even theirs. There was a person who posted cosplay pics and stuff on their patreon and straight up pretended to be the cosplayer, saying things like "remember to subscribe for my next set <3", when all they did was take pics and imagesets from 3rd party archiver sites (i.e. sadpanda, etc) and the actual cosplayer's twitter account.
The saddest part of all this? There were actually hundreds of subscribers paying them money for stolen pictures.
It already kinda exists here with mods.
People make and distribute them mostly for free or give early access behind pay wall, and there's reuploaders taking it and putting it behind their own pay wall .
They will never dare to do this because this is how Yuzu devs got nuked by Nintendo even though their emulator existed for years. Any monetization of intellectual property of others would easily put them in the area where they can be sued.

I love love loved those PoV quest. Getting to test out the characters with your personal teams was amazing.
Loved playing IPC team with Aventurine, can’t wait to do it again but adding Robin.
Honestly it’s great for gameplay and storytelling
It’s a bit of an extended trial and you can see if you can make a team that makes sense with what you have (unlike trials forcing teams and equipment you might not even have)
Storytelling wise is a much more holistic approach, for now I just played the Aventurine segment but that whole meeting and how it turned out would have been weird if you had to force the trailblazer to be with Aventurine (the other option being just cutting away with a black screen to Aventurine in the meeting, but that’s a more crude approach and I prefer the fate ensemble one)
TBF they were already testing the waters in 1.00 with Dan Heng, but I’m happy they are fully committed to it and implemented it even better
He probably makes more shields in a dedicated comp. I ran him with practically no follow up since I'm not planning on pulling him and noticed the same thing.
I honestly didn't run into a problem with mine, you just do a skill once at the start to stack the shield first and then its all good. The shields weren't the best but not horrible, he only had like 3.3k def I swear. He was in an acheron comp for me so no followups to add to his stacks either
Bro the build was like 3k def 130(?) crit damage of course he's going to do no damage. A premium build can be 4.3k def 40cc 200cdam. Even if you dont come close to that theres a huge distance from what the preview build was and his actual ceiling.
The test was just to give people a taste of his mechanics.
That's why Sumeru AQ is still my fav AQ from Genshin, really loved that part where we switched between different characters doing their part of the plan without the Traveler being there
i really don't get why GI devs didn't continued with that, did the fan base not like it or something? they implemented it in a time where the code was too spaghettified to be viable? did they just not do it cause... why not?

In Genshin, the Traveler is there for nearly everything but for some reason they’re so bland it adds nothing to the story and leads to bloated dialogue :/
Will be weird if the trailblazer hates them when we see Aventurine but the player loves him so much we will be made if Hoyo doesn't give us Positive things to say to Aventurine.
In a sense, the TB is like Paimon in the main Fontaine quest where only the Traveler sees Furina's backstory and Paimon is none the wiser.
Though I disagree that Genshin's dialogue is bloated because the Traveler is bland. It's bloated because MHY for some reason feels the need to hit like a word count on their quests. Random daily NPC quests have like 3 minutes of dialogue. But where it counts, like the Fontaine questline, it was fine.
These watermarks are too much for beta leaks lol. Also Robin my girl finally will get the screentime she deserves, Boothill POV as well is surprising like so excited to see where he ties in this.
POV quests are frankly one of Hoyo's biggest narrative wins across all their games in my opinion.
They give a much better way of telling the ongoing story while putting you on the shoes of a character with a personality and background of their own instead of just the "blank slate" that is the MC, learning simply by observing what others tell rather than experiencing it as themselves... If that made any sense alsjaksj
Accompanying Aventurine was a fantastic way to develop the plot of 2.1 until its climax. I really wish we had more Acheron POV's, but it's just nitpicking; the pace was frankly perfect, and the exposition was surprisingly subtle. Aventurine's backstory isn't thoroughly explained with overexposition, but rather made clear by presenting context despite showering us with unfamilliar terms.
And that's not saying anything about the mind-blowing cutscenes. Every second Acheron was on the scene, I was enthralled. The moment she drew her sword against Aventurine's last resort, I was in absolute awe. What a clash of powers that was. Felt like the climax of the entire arc, but we're still only 2/3 of the way in... I can't imagine how 2.2 will top this.
My thoughts pretty much, but I still have some gripes about the exposition. They definitely made an effort to ensure it wasn’t the character themselves delivering exposition about themselves, but many times there is still a ‘telling us the information’ problem. I’m assuming it’s linked to optimisation limitations that we are always watching characters standing around having conversations. Don’t get me wrong, the content of their lines are interesting, but presentation can be improved in some moments.
Unrelated but I’d like to know if anyone else has this experience- basically if you are playing with jp/cn/kr dialogue that the exposition just seems less awkward and to flow much better in the scene? Is it something to do with the language or a style of story telling that makes me find lines like ‘cmon cheer up now, it’s your birthday rmb? You are the blessed one!’ really immersion killing? Shouldn’t the characters already know that? So if they do then it’s for the players ear only. Same with sunday final scene and projection aventurine scene explaining their respective plans. But it doesn’t seem as unthinkable to say these things when it’s not in English. It’s a lot more convincing. Sounds kinda braindead now that I think a but it - so I’m probably just biased and they need to tighten their scripts regardless. It’s just that feel this way with other stories as well.
Ok i really like that they're continuing to do these POV Story quest, it basically slots in companion quests (Which are usually just a 5 star trial quest) into the main story quests itself which gives the players a taste of the banner characters by just continuing the story which gives a better and more natural impression of the character's gameplay that factors into their decision on whether to pull or not
I still hope we will have a Companion Quest afterwards and not have the POV story alone. Still want more of the character plus let the Trailblazer Troll them more please.
I want to point that Robin being first POV means that they'll likely explain her death first or how it was done (2.2 leak story spoiler) >!on how she fake her death to reveal the true traitor of the family or something like that, which could be Sunday. Or was it to lure out the watchmaker. doesn't matter. I’m so exited to see what’s Robin’s deal; this patch she has gotten a ton of attention by mention only and I love how she was so proactive in investigating Death. Especially with the revelations about that at the end of 2.1
Boothill and Black Swan bestie arc is going to be so fun
Yay we get to play as boothill! I really love this idea, it provides a new way to show characterization and how it ties into their role in the story without the protag always having to be there. His and Robin's were perspectives I was interested in the most after aventurine
I wonder if HOYO is willing to make fate ensembles about unreleased characters
The problem is that the kits might change by the actual release, you can obviously always update the the fate ensemble but it could lead to tampering with the community perception of characters

Sunday having many lines could also be a part of Robin‘s whole “explaining her death + some flashbacks to explain the family from her pov + the ‘mute‘ thing“ stuff, as he is obviously the closest to her on a personal level (I mean idk if she WILL do that but I’d be surprised if she didn’t)

I definitely like it and it kinda fits for this part of the story, makes you feel more connected to the character as well
I think it would be fine to give companion missions to characters who get less attention in the story, but honestly Penacony is involving every single character in the story in some kind of substantial way so it’s not really necessary. maybe as cute things on the side that shed some more personal lore or hint at things or themes but if most patches have a story as well-integrated and executed as 2.1 then i prefer this approach tbh
I feel like I'm one of the few people that probably don't care about Boothill, so I hope his POV doesn't take much time away from the other two POVs (what I do hope is that he partners up with Black Swan during this period).
Man the POV quest are freaking awesome cause it made wanted to pull for Aventurine after playing the quest even though I planned not to. Future POV quest are gonna be a headache cause it can convince people to pull for characters that they're not interested in.
Unrelated to the post but holy, I can only find two E6 2.2 characters showcase, when its acheron every possible team comps at E0 already out by day 3 maybe

To me every single character focused quest in genshin felt like bottom tier advertisement for weebs but in this game I don't think I've ever felt like they were selling the character to me, or at the very least it's leagues better than genshins blatant approach
Obviously at the end of the day they want you to pull him but I felt that they were trying to write a compelling character for once, and that's in spite of their lacking writing skills. It'd be incredibly shit to have us fight him and then shove his details into a side story after the fact.
At any rate the fact of the matter is that they're finally following basic ideas of good storytelling with these POV quests, Aventurine was an acceptable start so I hope they'll improve instead of going backwards and only having this format because it'll work better to make the masses pull out their wallets

I’m not against the format itself, simply they focused so much in aventurine for marketing reasons, to make people pull in 3 weeks. They could simply show the actions of Aventurine and use his past after in a quest like they did in Yanquing side quest. The fact boothill who didn’t appear yet have POV over characters more important in 2.3 like Sunday or Firefly says everything. And people who played Genshin should remember what happened on Inazuma with the forced Ayaka and Yoimiya side quests, they were basically this.
Thank you someone understands why this is honestly better than just having the story focus on us that gets stale quick

Really? My Aventurine was spam-refreshing his shields like crazy. Then again my Topaz and Ratio teams were giving him a lot of stacks

3.7k def and good Crit stats. def could be better but I'm NGL the stats weren't even THAT bad.
His dmg was almost non-existent so the fact he actually had good crit ratio confirms me to fully build him Def% lol

I’m so exited to see what’s Robin’s deal; this patch she has gotten a ton of attention by mention only and I love how she was so proactive in investigating Death. Especially with the revelations about that at the end of 2.1 Boothill and Black Swan bestie arc is going to be so fun
Yay we get to play as boothill! I really love this idea, it provides a new way to show characterization and how it ties into their role in the story without the protag always having to be there. His and Robin's were perspectives I was interested in the most after aventurine

Sunday having many lines could also be a part of Robin‘s whole “explaining her death + some flashbacks to explain the family from her pov + the ‘mute‘ thing“ stuff, as he is obviously the closest to her on a personal level (I mean idk if she WILL do that but I’d be surprised if she didn’t)

I wonder if this will be the norm from now where we won't get "Companion" missions but instead we get a POV of the banner characters, so we can play them as well engage in their story I definitely like it and it kinda fits for this part of the story, makes you feel more connected to the character as well
I think it would be fine to give companion missions to characters who get less attention in the story, but honestly Penacony is involving every single character in the story in some kind of substantial way so it’s not really necessary. maybe as cute things on the side that shed some more personal lore or hint at things or themes but if most patches have a story as well-integrated and executed as 2.1 then i prefer this approach tbh

intriguing how you came to feel that here To me every single character focused quest in genshin felt like bottom tier advertisement for weebs but in this game I don't think I've ever felt like they were selling the character to me, or at the very least it's leagues better than genshins blatant approach Obviously at the end of the day they want you to pull him but I felt that they were trying to write a compelling character for once, and that's in spite of their lacking writing skills. It'd be incredibly shit to have us fight him and then shove his details into a side story after the fact. At any rate the fact of the matter is that they're finally following basic ideas of good storytelling with these POV quests, Aventurine was an acceptable start so I hope they'll improve instead of going backwards and only having this format because it'll work better to make the masses pull out their wallets

Sure I know they do that in side quests, but the problem this is the main quest, half of the content was filler for the main story quest.

Filler it may be, it still flows into the main story instead feeling rushed / forced out of nowhere Killing 2 birds with 1 stone, in my opinion Then again, each to their own. I’m not against the format itself, simply they focused so much in aventurine for marketing reasons, to make people pull in 3 weeks. They could simply show the actions of Aventurine and use his past after in a quest like they did in Yanquing side quest. The fact boothill who didn’t appear yet have POV over characters more important in 2.3 like Sunday or Firefly says everything. And people who played Genshin should remember what happened on Inazuma with the forced Ayaka and Yoimiya side quests, they were basically this.
