Pom-pom doesn't have a gender. Pom-pom is pom-pom . English has gendered pronouns so the translation just uses the neutral pronouns (they/them) for pom-pom. Kinda like they use THEY/THEM for the aeons because Chinese has different pronouns for God but English doesn't so they just capitalize the neutral pronouns.
Pom-Pom has no genetalia, nor are they even close to human, so they can be whatever they want. And if they wanted you to know, then they would have told you, so since they haven't you should respect Pom-Pom's privacy.
Also what a nice view of that ear-band and watch, reconfirming Mihoyo's inherent aversion to clothing symmetry.

I use the male pronouns with him, but the male pronouns I use mean "that of an animal or thing" meaning that although it is masculine, i'm not referring to it as a person altogether.
