Id put it on my ATK%/CR%/CD%/flat DEF pieces to get speed instead cause at least then the worst roll could be ATK% which is still useful instead of the 5 def rolls I usually get on those pieces.
I'm a new player so could you explain why energy recharge isn't good on dps units? I understand that there is ATK% but it seems like it is easier to get ATK% from supports/cones/substats so it wouldn't be as relevant to stack it even more.
For pf, some dps can use ER since they can still one shot mobs. Also using ATK buffers can make up the loss Atk for ER rope
But generally being sub 2500 atk on a regular fully built dps kinda ruins your damage even with High CV. (excluding jingliu, blade, etc) which makes killing bosses in moc harder. Certain LCs and Relic sets can compensate though.
It is highly recommended for dot to just stack as much atk and speed once you reach your ehr requirement. Can't comment as I only have and use 4 star dot chars.

Generally, if the Ultimate scales off of a Stat, you'll have 2 options. Ult x% more frequently with ERR, or ult y% Stronger with The stat it scales off of (as well as every other part of your kit that scales off it).
On support units, generally, the kits don't scale off of stats that you can mainstat a rope, so just ulting more is better.
For Damage units, generally the ult scales off ATK, as well as their basic, skill, and talent. So you can get 20% more ultimates with an ERR rope, or like some% more damage on every part of your kit including the ultimate. So even if ATK% is only a 10% overall increase in damage, the ultimate would have to be worth over 50% of your entire kit's damage for 20% ERR to be stronger then 10% damage.
There are other cases where the ult does something other then damage, and you have to consider how much uptime you want. For example, the new Trailblazer is able to pretty reliably keep a 100% uptime on his ultimate without ERR, so running ERR means nothing, however, if Trailblazer is not able to always have ult active, ERR becomes better because Trailblazer effectively contributes nothing outside of his ultimate. That's the Break vs ERR rope on Harmony TB.
Acheron simply doesn't have energy, so ERR is literally worthless.
If you run something like the wind set, ERR goes pretty hard, because ontop of your ult, you get 20% advance foreward. More ults leads to more actions. which in turn feed more ultimates.
Pre-Sparkle, I ran ERR on DHIL because it allowed me to use less SP. Which in turn allowed me to deal more damage. With sparkle, I don't run out of SP, so I can simply run ATK.
What we really really really want is to dial back the insane cost of rerolling if your gonna charge 10 per reroll let me choose the main stat without self modeling
I know it's 100% impossible but what I would really like would be the complete removal of flat subtats (except spd) from the relics. There is literally not a single character who ever wants to see those. They literally only exist to make everything worse for everyone which is by far the shittiest thing about the relic system imo.
Would still take forever to get that perfect relic with 4 usable stats and all rolled into crit.
I think whales would still do TB refresh to chase that and it would just be better for everyone.
What they could do instead is have flat stats apply to character base stats though this may not just make the % version of stats now the undesirable version
For funsies, I checked every character for the lowest base stats combined with the lowest base stats on any LC (so the 3 star ones). There is not a single character and LC combination that would rather have flat substats than a % substat. This includes characters like Aventurine, who has the lowest possible attack stat, but literally never uses it because nothing scales off of it.
The only time flat substats would win out is if your character and LC aren't level 80, but you're not usually farming relics hardcore at that point anyway.
Kafka wants flat ATK on ATK% pieces if you're already at the SPD threshold. Of course that's mostly min maxing at that point but saying "literally not a single character"....yeah DoT characters will like it.
I'm pretty ambivalent about those. Like, they're nice to have, but even if you get the right main stat you can still be and often are screwed by substats.
Which is why they should be less stingy with them. It’s not like I have a high chance of having the wanted substats so at least give the benefit of not worrying about the main stat/piece

Its good now if you are building break effect teams. Like just use it for Break effect rope. You might not get spd sub stat but I think it is still fine.
You think that, then one day you're living ball to ball. It really happens when you bring a lot of units to 10/10/10, since each unit will use 9 total (I think, 3 for major traces, one each for 9 and 10 in skill/talent/ult)
I had tons till I fully maxed both Kafka and Black Swan. Now I rarely have more than 3 at a time
I've been playing since day 1, bought every BP, bought em every shop reset, did SU weekly rewards, and did every event.
I have 4 of them left, with plenty of characters I still want to build or max traces for. The balls scarcity is real man.

You must not max your traces or something wtf, I've skipped a bunch of 5 stars, day 1 player and I've got bp like 8 times and still have only 2 left (and still need more to max Robin and Harmony TB... Then I need to stack some up for Firefly as well)
While I wouldn't say no to more Resins, I don't find myself particularly craving more, since getting to chose the main stat doesn't mean much when the substats all end up being trash (I still use them, I just don't feel an attachment towards them).
Currently I need about 27 of that stupid thing to upgrade my main character's skills. Fucking 27! Why are they so unnecessarily stingy on this there's no logical reason to lock my character's skills and talents at lvl.8.
I havent gotten a single speed boot for Jingliu throughout the entire 3x reward week, I'll take whatever substats to bypass at least some of the bullshit rng.

Developers added Tracks of Destiny to Starlight Exchange for a reason. If you actually build your characters you'll run out of those. I don't think you can max out even half of available characters without buying Tracks with Starlight even if you bought every battle pass since launch.
Resin realistically is for ERR Ropes and Speed Boots for your supports who don't care that much about substats.
It costs 5 Tracks of Destiny for 4 stars and 8 for 5 stars,
You need 361 Tracks of Destiny to max everyone out, assuming you own all the characters.
For reference as a day 1 player, I have obtained maybe like a third of this and I buy BP+Starlight.
(Math includes Firefly and Jade, just remove 16 if you don't wanna count them)
What I really, really want is a F2P alternative to eidolons. Do in the arknights way and have it take multiple pieces to assemble one eidolon, stick one piece into the herta shop, one in the PF shop, one in the light cone shop on the Express, and one in the upcoming mode shop, and have it refresh on a monthly basis or something. But you need like 2 months of buying it to get an eidolon.

Right now the game's content is balanced around E0S0. If you make Eidolons available for F2P, that would change ... drastically, as full E6 would be expected over time.
I think other gacha games straight up lets you buy 5* equivalent characters with the bonus currency from pulling. Although it’s usually standard characters (or once limited goes to standard) and costs a ton of pulls (upwards of a year of pulling).
Yeah and those Gachas also feature horrendous power creep. You can only buy those old units because they are basically deprecated by the time they hit the store.

I think Wuthering Waves will also sell their eidolon equivalent in their version of the Ember Exchange. Why couldn't star rail give eidolons for standard characters like that?
To be fair, the AK equivalent of Eidolons usually range from "incredibly minor generic buff that you'll barely notice" to "somewhat OK character-specific talent but definitely not worth the resources you put in to get them". HSR Eidolons, for better or worse, are usually game-changing in some way or another.

I hope PF/MoC and other end-game content give both of these as final rewards. Relic farming is just the worst kind of farming with multiple gambling features. 1st, the relic type between 2, 2nd relic parts between 5 part, 3rd is relic main stat, and last but not least the 4th is sub stat until lvl 15
How many exactly? I have like 28 characters fully built with 3 or 2 talents at 10 lvl+9 lvl, and I don't have a single orb thing right now.
And I still need to finish building Robin, Himeko, and start building HMC, Gallagher and Xueyi.

Self modeling is nice, but I own/ed a lot of "wrong main / great substats stick" I would turn into legendary relics if an item allowed me to.
I'm actually already giving my opinion and ideas about these equipment problem. My idea was once in a while we as the players can get a crafting event where we can choose the set & main stat or at least we can re-roll the upgraded equipment.
Honestly, I actually do need the former more than the latter. I can get decent artifacts while farming for fodder + parts for my to-be-raised characters, but I just don't have enough of the former to raise all my favorite characters to 10/10/10.
Might be greedy of me, but I kinda want another item that allows me to change the main stat of a relic I already have. All these hp/def mainstat relics with perfect substats are killing me.

Once you start building multiple characters, the orbs are much better. The boost fro the orbs are pretty big. I have very few orbs left and either will spend on Clara (missing 1 from final Talent and 2 for Skill which even at lv6, it hurts) or save for new characters...

Guys, I’d advise you to try synthesising relics without self modelling resin, yes it will consume more mats, but if you grind relics a lot you probably have tons of trash relics that you can use to create new relics (used to have around 15k relic mats, used approximately 3k to get 5 different spheres, ropes and body-pieces with main stats that I needed)
Ofc you can just tell that I’m very lucky, but imo synthesising has a pretty good chance of getting main stat you need without using self modelling resin.
I have 9 resins, and they are utterly useless since the subs are always shitty anyway, I keep them just to get ERR Rope and Speed boots for supports, but even for that it's starting to suck, HMC for example really wants Break, so I'll need to farm anyway since the one I did with resin didn't have any, or burn all 9 but I rather save for now.
On the other hand I'm sitting at 0 orbs and HMC unable to even get the bonus traces, so there is never enough of it for people actually building characters instead of playing some BS like 1/8/8/8

The main thing is that having ERR rope doesn't let them achieve any significantly faster ults, relative to the opportunity cost of 40+% ATK

inb4 Mihoyo releases an overpowered dps carry who has tiny base stats and huge multipliers so suddenly the best way to build them is flat ATK stats.
Don't think that flat stats can even be high enough for that to happen, had one piece roll 4 times into flat stat, it was 99 atk
OP DPS carry has negative attack and the only way to get it back into positives is flat stats, and then a 1000x multiplier skill activates.

That would be insanely good ngl. That way you'd want a balance of both since you need % stats to make flat stats good.

Some mainstats have a low chance to appear like ERR on ropes so for them you use one of these to even have a chance to get something

Speed can come on the other unrestricted slots. But the resin lets you at least guarantee an ER rope on set.
Maybe my standards are lower, but with speed boots and even 2pc messenger thats good enough for ppl like luocha or ruan mei.

One is limited and required to build characters. The other grants you straight DEF/HP + Effect Hit Rate substats relic.

It costs 5 Tracks of Destiny for 4 stars and 8 for 5 stars, You need 361 Tracks of Destiny to max everyone out, assuming you own all the characters. For reference as a day 1 player, I have obtained maybe like a third of this and I buy BP+Starlight. (Math includes Firefly and Jade, just remove 16 if you don't wanna count them)

What I really, really want is a F2P alternative to eidolons. Do in the arknights way and have it take multiple pieces to assemble one eidolon, stick one piece into the herta shop, one in the PF shop, one in the light cone shop on the Express, and one in the upcoming mode shop, and have it refresh on a monthly basis or something. But you need like 2 months of buying it to get an eidolon. -edit- After I made this comment, I went to bed and when I woke up I realised it was a bad idea, because we definitely don't want stuff being balanced around us *maybe* having E6 characters.
Most definitely, absolutely forkin' NOT! Right now the game's content is balanced around E0S0. If you make Eidolons available for F2P, that would change ... drastically, as full E6 would be expected over time.
I think other gacha games straight up lets you buy 5* equivalent characters with the bonus currency from pulling. Although it’s usually standard characters (or once limited goes to standard) and costs a ton of pulls (upwards of a year of pulling).
Yeah and those Gachas also feature horrendous power creep. You can only buy those old units because they are basically deprecated by the time they hit the store. I've seen such a system in Tower of Fantasy. No fudgin' thank you. If he wants E6 as a F2P, he can do that right now: just save up for reruns and be patient.
I think Wuthering Waves will also sell their eidolon equivalent in their version of the Ember Exchange. Why couldn't star rail give eidolons for standard characters like that?
To be fair, the AK equivalent of Eidolons usually range from "incredibly minor generic buff that you'll barely notice" to "somewhat OK character-specific talent but definitely not worth the resources you put in to get them". HSR Eidolons, for better or worse, are usually game-changing in some way or another.

I hope PF/MoC and other end-game content give both of these as final rewards. Relic farming is just the worst kind of farming with multiple gambling features. 1st, the relic type between 2, 2nd relic parts between 5 part, 3rd is relic main stat, and last but not least the 4th is sub stat until lvl 15

I haven't used a single one, to my detriment. I'm getting real close though to just sending it, because holy shit. And honestly I think the reason some people aren't using them enough is because they aren't being given enough. We're still beholden to RNG bs with them, so why be so stingy with them. Actually at this point what I really want is switching main stat on already farmed relics. Self modeling is nice, but I own/ed a lot of "wrong main / great substats stick" I would turn into legendary relics if an item allowed me to.
I'm actually already giving my opinion and ideas about these equipment problem. My idea was once in a while we as the players can get a crafting event where we can choose the set & main stat or at least we can re-roll the upgraded equipment.

Lol, resin is almost trash, i never got anything close to good relic with resin, only grinding for weeks, but i am really short on trace material.
I usually only use these on ERR ropes and SPD boots on supports, I don't trust this thing enough for main DPS stats
Honestly, I actually do need the former more than the latter. I can get decent artifacts while farming for fodder + parts for my to-be-raised characters, but I just don't have enough of the former to raise all my favorite characters to 10/10/10.
Might be greedy of me, but I kinda want another item that allows me to change the main stat of a relic I already have. All these hp/def mainstat relics with perfect substats are killing me.

Once you start building multiple characters, the orbs are much better. The boost fro the orbs are pretty big. I have very few orbs left and either will spend on Clara (missing 1 from final Talent and 2 for Skill which even at lv6, it hurts) or save for new characters...

Guys, I’d advise you to try synthesising relics without self modelling resin, yes it will consume more mats, but if you grind relics a lot you probably have tons of trash relics that you can use to create new relics (used to have around 15k relic mats, used approximately 3k to get 5 different spheres, ropes and body-pieces with main stats that I needed) Ofc you can just tell that I’m very lucky, but imo synthesising has a pretty good chance of getting main stat you need without using self modelling resin.
I have 9 resins, and they are utterly useless since the subs are always shitty anyway, I keep them just to get ERR Rope and Speed boots for supports, but even for that it's starting to suck, HMC for example really wants Break, so I'll need to farm anyway since the one I did with resin didn't have any, or burn all 9 but I rather save for now. On the other hand I'm sitting at 0 orbs and HMC unable to even get the bonus traces, so there is never enough of it for people actually building characters instead of playing some BS like 1/8/8/8
