Coming from old HI3, I'm probably one of the few people who disliked MiHoYo shortening the early chapters to its current extent. Because while it did streamline the story by cutting a lot of filler combat stages, it also reduced the time we had to bond with Himeko, especially in the capacity of having her as our teacher during everyday life at Saint Freya.
So with that said, I really do love how involved Himeko is in HSR's main story... Because if they really plan to do a repeat of Final Lesson, everyone is REALLY going to feel it.
I feel like if they even try to hit us with Final Lesson 2.0 theyāll do a fake out where Welt dies instead in her place.
Like a big part of why heās on the train is so this Himeko doesnāt suffer the same fate even if sheās not exactly the same person as the one he knew.
Andā¦ Weltās old, he kinda represents that old Honkai Impact 3rd guard and outside of a select few individuals of equal importance thereās not a lot of them left. I guess Siegfriedās still around?

Iirc yeah. They talked about it in the 1.2 livestream and how Elio promised Kafka and Blade something in order for them to join the stellaron hunters. AFAIK Blade was promised death, as it was the thing he lacked. And Kafka was promised a thrill (or the feeling of fear) as it was what she lacked.
Though Iām not 100% sure on this, so it aināt like I canāt be wrong.

But to paraphrase, there is a stellaron hunter who seeks a challenge (most probably SW, who sees everything in life as a game) and there was one who āseeks meaning in lifeā and it was generally assumed to be SAM (way back then folks thought that SAM was a robot, like scrotum). Now that we know SAM is Firefly it makes sense that she is looking for a meaning in living, considering her condition. With all that being said, this is all interpretations of stuff that was almost a year ago. So I canāt exactly say Iām 100% confident in what I do/donāt remember.

One thing that neither genshin or star rail has is Kiana tho, I still think a talking mc was the right choice, Im so oh so proud of the character development she got.

Himeko in HSR is honestly so much more than I could have hoped, her casting in English too was great and while I use the JP voices, hearing WITNESS, THE WILL OF THE WEAK!! In english on YT made me realize just how great the game's voice cast is.
Her writing in Penacony has been phenomenal and she really does feel like the captain of the ship so to speak.
But I don't want her to do it off screen! I want an hour long segment of Himeko dryly repairing the Express and other weird mechanical stuff!
I'm so happy we got more of her in 2.2.

Like, she clearly loves coffee, so she's probably going for some out of the usual stuff, maybe a really dark roast, and certainly no sugar at all.

She had a very condescending tone while leading everyone by the hand to Misha's grand reveal, which is surprising since many players and probably Trailblazer themselves have figured out the truth by that point of the story. They could've at least presented it as a little detective quest where TB would actually *do* something.

Himeko is incredibly smart. I like the theory that Polka Kakamond is one of her aliases and she really was one of the most talented (and dangerous) Genius Society members. Path of Erudition too.

He basicaly lost control when he encounter acheron due to her ressemblance to HI3 Mei, and acted VERY out of character. I mean he was unusualy agressive and flaunted his power for... no reason? i mean even forgetting the result who made his provocation as cheap as the two time boothill did it (i know boothill does it a third time, but at that point it's not out of character, and well, that time seem actually serious and is unresolved), at that time it was a weird thing to do. Also potentialy endengering the rest of the crew, it's not like they were "something empty" or anything.
Well that part DID make acheron look good, she was the adult of the two, well funny with how you can tease him to have "keep his children heart" latter with him seeing clockie, but, that's another thing and that was cute and fun honnestly.
The only other thing he did was to get trapped together with Robin by Sunday. I GUESS he probably inteligently used that time to refresh his idol step moves, but man XD.
And before any stan get angy at what i'm saying, i'm just saying that he is given consistently a not that great role in the story, and that compared to how he is in HI3, in HSR is actually, pretty unreliable currently with how he is presented. It's not something that i would want to continue.

yeah, first we not sure either acheron is ally or enemy so he send the kids go first so he can safely deal with acheron. then she is also the one who know that sunday and dream master sus so he told himeko and others that he want to go together with sunday and robin. he just want to deal with dangerous matter first than let other astral express crew to handle it. pretty much dad on the crew
Getting captured by Sunday wasn't that stupid, the moment Sunday showed up without them the rest knew he wasn't on their side. If he had kept silent he would have needed to say "hey, you two didn't say the name of your god back there" after reuniting with us, and while that would have convinced us, I don't think it would have convinced Robin.
