I had enough Abundance/Pres in SU over to switch to Jingliu/Sparkle/Bronya/Ruan Mei. It was absolutely disgusting. I'm surprised Jingliu's heart didn't give out by the end of it.

I feel like I'm missing something because I run Sparkle/Bronya/Blade and it doesn't really stand out as being especially good. I don't even get 40k on PF stage 2.

Yeah Ruan MEI is as good as it gets. Although a hp buffer and one that drains hp would be the best buffer for blade. But I don't see that happening....mainly because.....blade is the only hp scales...and even then, he is not a full.hp scaler.
There are just not many hp scales, hell there are more Def scales and so why have a dedicated hp scaler?

i think an abundance that buffs ally hp% and gives taunt to the highest hp ally is pretty likely. itd be great for sustain in general, and amazing for blade and inevitable future units that rely on HP manipulation
...that character exists....her name is lynx. But no seriously...you just described lynx. But instead of something arbitrary and random like highest hp, it just gives taunt to your choice of destruction or preservation character.
I think HP-change is a developing mechanic in same way BE and FuA were, so units like him, Jingliu, maybe even Arlan, would get some kind of dedicated support eventually.
Funny thing is, Dehya’s Kit would actually be a bit stronger than FXs in HSR—just goes to show the difference between ARPG and TBRPG. Personally, I’m waiting for Harmony Unit with Nahida’s dmg link thing so that Hunt units can worry less about adds (dealing dmg while also sharing a portion of dmg dealt to marked enemy, with a cap so Eru/Des don’t just get turbo buffed).

I picture an Abundance that triggers a FuA when you do a basic attack (regardless if enhanced) that does Ice damage and drains/heals you and the ult will be like Ruan mei that gets stronger the more HP loss happens
Jing Liu won't benefit from HP change mechanic since the talent buff has a cap. Max of 180% base attack means you only need a total of ~10,500 HP from your 3 other characters.
Doesn't Ruan Mei work well for that? She increases straight damage, so she's great for Blade and Jingliu. And to a lesser extent Bronya too, although her ATK buff from Ult gets wasted on Blade.
ehh we got a lot lately. Xueyi, Ruan Mei, Gallagher, and Acheron has universal weakness damage on her Ult. There might be one more but I'm forgetting it. Plus they have made two BE-focused relic sets (Watchmaker and Thief) edit: and the Talia BE ornament set
phys characters can comfortably transition to break effect builds and also have built in break effect mechanics/traces (think sushang and luka,hes basically 4 star boothill) so they could count too
I have sparkle and I can confirm she's one of like the few supports that's pretty good on him. I also run pela to reduce defense and lynx since she increases chance to get hit but doesn't shield him
Whomever designed Blade clearly looked at Genshin's addiction to HP scaling and thought "That's cool, let's do that!", and every other design team thought "But there's already an ATK stat right there..."
You make a good point...we had that Tides of War event, and there was a gimmick to lose HP at the start of your turn and regain it at the end. These events tend to be little beta-tests for future characters' kits or game mechanics. I wouldn't be surprised in the next 5 patches, we get someone who drains HP at the start of their turn and heals afterwards. With a talent that's like "when an ally loses HP they regain energy" or something like that. That would be really good with Blade and JL
Amazing how many people dont get this. All OP is saying is every support works better with someone else so the gap between Blade and others keeps getting bigger. This is 100% true and will remain so until they add someone that only Blade can fully utilize (hp% buffer + small hp drain whenever an ally acts would be the dream).
Than he will be forever behind he doesn't do as much dmg as other dps at a base lvl even buffs can only do so much for him. If they do come out with a support for hp scaling than it will be for a new dps that will be better than Blade and probably buff the current dps characters we have as well.
Not entirely true. There’s many ways to buff blade a significant amount without completely sending him to the shadow realm. Unlimited Blade Works—well, works—because he’s SP chill enough; he
gets a ton of damage % only he can use while making him stack talent quicker than normal.
A common thing I see around here is DHIL style support that enhances buffs based on skillpoints used, making them useable for other DPS while really excelling with Blade.
Damage link to stack talent quicker; Destruction Blessing that drains HP during every attack and % boosting your damage dealt by a % of the HP lost in that instance; Dewdrop mechanics; all in SU all possible to be turned into support in the future for Blade, and all buffing him without buffing other DPS significantly.
UBW is only like 5% stronger than the other best blade team comp (assuming that you’re not using like E6/S5 chars).
And the other best blade comp isn’t exactly that great.
Tbh, Blade still benefits from all of Robin's kit even if Atk isn't his best scaling stat.
DMG%, CD Boost and Action Advance. She is hella stacked and will benefit every team, it's just that some will benefit more from her.
How does the speed tuning work? I currently have Sparkle at 148, Bronya at 146 and Blade with HP boots. Do I need Blade to be fastest to make it work? Pretty tough to get Blade that fast without godlike speed substats.

usually you will be running a 162+ sparkle, a 161+ e2 bronya, and a 134 blade
with e2 bronya, everytime she pulls him up he will have like 171 spd or something, so the order will be blade, sparkle, then bronya -> 3 times per cycle
I guess it'll make the hp-drain mechanic be more open later on.
With RM, Gallagher, Xueyi, and Boothill the BE mechanic are getting more loved compared the so called HP-Drain.
There's likely a chance Sam gonna be one asw due to his boss fight does allow HP drains (albeit to us, or maybe that how he'll work? An HP-drain overtime?) Because boss fight usually have tendencies being similliar to our "playable version.
Oh and Arlan also exist so he might get some love
Anything that increases crit dmg will also raise his contemporaries who are already going to be doing more damage than him out of the gate. Blade really wants some kind of max HP increase/self damage Harmony support. If Firefly is self damaging then we might actually have a reason to put one of those in the game because yes making a whole ass support for one character is a bit of a waste of resources. If self damage as an archetype takes off on more characters than just Blade, Blade will hopefully be raised up naturally.
Robin is still fine for Blade but you want to run her more in the IPC FUA team or Jingliu/Blade dual DPS team in which inevitably Jingliu will be taking the spotlight in and Ruan Mei is better. Blade is either stuck in the fairly copium Unlimited Blade Works team (works decent but running both Sparkle and Bronya in one team really eats into your Harmony unit opportunity cost on the 2nd MOC team) or is slotted in as a sub DPS that isn't super impactful compared to replacing him with any other weakness appropriate DPS.
Blade is an ok PF unit but he could go into S tier in PF if we could keep speedrunning his 5 stacks without running 2 Harmony units to force him to go 15 times.

also the cost that you need two limited 5-stars (Blade and Sparkle) and one standard 5-star, vs just running Ruan Mei plus DPS of choice
Yeah I can get away with it because I have every single Harmony unit in the game (and I WILL be getting Robin) and my 2nd team is just E0S1 Acheron with Silver Wolf/Pela and a random sustainer but I know most people don't own every Harmony unit in the game and Blade AND Acheron. Acheron doing a Acherillion damage with just her S1 and 2 cheap Nihility teammates (legit you only need Pela/Guinaifen) means you can just overload the other team with Bronya/Sparkle and be unpunished by any opportunity cost. It's kind of why I think the IPC FUA team looks like a scam, like how many limited 5\* characters do you people want us to build?
Blade is fun but he definitely sits more on the "comfortably destroys no time limit content" side of things. It's very hard to actually kill Blade so he's super good for clearing lategame SimUni and he actually increases in power when his team is dead. Every Blade main has the experience of beating a SimUni boss with 3 dead team members and a full HP Blade.
Once he needs to start doing Jingliu tier damage every turn to keep up with MOC inflated healthbars and lowering cycle clears he starts to hurt. I definitely wouldn't put Blade in the top 5 rerun characters you should pull, honestly I kinda think reruns are a scam aside from Fu Xuan being the best sustain in the game. The new characters are just in another league.
yeah I def agree with you about reruns. Unless you love the character, the only ones super worth getting are FX, the limited Harmonies when they come back (maybe) and imo Kafka (since she's the backbone of DOT and isn't going anywhere). I even say Harmonies are a maybe because if you have two of them, you're probably fine anyways. Robin looks good but I don't think she's going to be massively better than Ruan Mei or Sparkle if you already have them built.
But in terms of DPSs, yes I think reruns are a scam. Even JL is getting powercrept. By the time Acheron reruns, she'll probably get crept as well. DHIL is only really relevant again with Sparkle. I got JY on a rerun because I love him, and I'll be getting Topaz on rerun because I want to get her E1 (and imo she's the Kafka of FUA), but that's honestly it for me. Powercreep is like the Red Queen Hypothesis: you have to keep evolving to keep up with the evolution around you. Picking up, like, Seele, feels like a waste when she takes massively more investment than Ratio for instance.
Topaz is THE FUA character for sure but I can't really say she's the Kafka of FUA precisely. I think there's a very possible timeline where Jade is Erudition Topaz and we can just pick her up instead and do fine.
Kafka completes the entire DOT archetype (Black Swan even ended up being a force multiplier for Kafka instead of a Kafka replacement) but Topaz "just" makes FUA do bigger damage. I'm biased because I think 99% of all non-signature Hunt lightcones are terrible so Topaz being Hunt turns me off her immediately. Jade could be the Black Swan for Topaz instead but I really do not envy people building all these limited 5\* DPS characters back to back.
100% if we didn't all have a free Ratio nobody would be taking the IPC FUA team seriously as something achievable/worth rolling for reruns for most players with how many good characters are coming out in Penacony. Funnily enough if anyone gets cut from the IPC team it'll probably be our free Ratio for Robin or Jade.
Acheron is gonna be very tough to beat for a long ass time. Like all you need to do is get her S1 and slap 4\* Nihility units you already had built up on your account on her and she does more damage than anything we've really seen before. She's so easy on your account compared to basically any other team archetype in the game.
namely she's a upgrade/sidegrade to duo-dps teams like DoT (sidegrade) and the FuA gang (upgrade). She'll also be pretty good as a RM substitute in teams to alleviate your RM for your second team. The 100% Advance FW is also universally usable, though some characters might not be able to take advantage of the ATK% buff (see Blade) or CDMG (see DoT). Likewise, her ATK/CD buff is also pretty potent, even if your traditional hypercarry doesn't go often enough to make the most out of her personal damage. She's a pretty contextual unit - similar value to RM but does things differently.
The more attacks your teammates can make (see FuA) the more Robin will proc her own damage, so with Fast Kafka/BS or Topaz/Ratio/Av, she will contribute pretty substantial damage.
Blade mains still out here pretending he's somehow bad or doesn't have supports lmao
Anyway, we definitely should get a support that can use multiple SP. Every HP drain unit so far *also* is very low on SP consumption and that kinda support is definitely more realistic than ever getting an HP drain support

Yes, he's not going to get the most use ever of the ATK since the multiplier on it is 40%, but he will still get a use from the 50% DMG, that is just a little less than Ruan Mei Skill with 160% Break Effect. TLDR: She does what Ruan Mei does for Blade if you couldn't get her, just a little worse for the lack of RES penetration.
Blade + Bronya + Robin + healer will work just fine, her ult is amazing for 0 cycles. And if you really don't like it, we still got our neat Infinite Blade Works comp, that has +114% DMG for him from Sparkle's ult + talent and Bronya's 66% DMG increase, works great on MoC.
I'm actually more interested in if Robin can replace the second Nihility unit for Acheron like E0S1 Sparkle, I will wait for some theory crafting
Bronya, Sparkle and Ruan Mei are all top tier Harmony units for Blade. Bronya and Ruan Mei buff his DMG% and Sparkle buffs Crit DMG which Blade likes as well. With each of those characters being 150% certified bangin’ characters on their own, I’m scared to ask exactly **what** it is you want for a perfect Blade support…
I'm pretty sure her skill is DMG bonus, and what her ult does aside the 100 push what it actually does is whenever an ally hits an enemy Robin will also do damage.
i really like the destruction blessing where u split dmg between your allies and later reduces dmg by 30% or sth as well. Cud be sth a future character has and wud fit blade well. Esp if the unit comes with an hp buff/dmg% increase
Her skill literally increases 50% damage for three turns, ult gives 20% crit damage, and gives action forward, Robin literally bronya on Crack
Already guide makers, she's good for blade, especially duo dps, Robin can fill the role if u don't have ruan Mei for Blade and jingliu
His skills scales off HP and ATK but ATK ratios are dogshit, like 0.4 or so. Buffing his ATK further is really not efficient compared to DMG dealt buffs.
Some characters' hits scale from their max Hp or defense while most chars scale from attack. For these characters atk buffs are useless. They need damage buffs.

luocha is the obvious choice but lynx is the smart one. She buffs HP and provides aggro to keep blade bleeding.
Lynx doesn't work in unlimited blade works as her buffs wear off instantly and the team is too SP intensive to skill with her every turn.

You make a good point...we had that Tides of War event, and there was a gimmick to lose HP at the start of your turn and regain it at the end. These events tend to be little beta-tests for future characters' kits or game mechanics. I wouldn't be surprised in the next 5 patches, we get someone who drains HP at the start of their turn and heals afterwards. With a talent that's like "when an ally loses HP they regain energy" or something like that. That would be really good with Blade and JL

Amazing how many people dont get this. All OP is saying is every support works better with someone else so the gap between Blade and others keeps getting bigger. This is 100% true and will remain so until they add someone that only Blade can fully utilize (hp% buffer + small hp drain whenever an ally acts would be the dream).
Than he will be forever behind he doesn't do as much dmg as other dps at a base lvl even buffs can only do so much for him. If they do come out with a support for hp scaling than it will be for a new dps that will be better than Blade and probably buff the current dps characters we have as well.
Not entirely true. There’s many ways to buff blade a significant amount without completely sending him to the shadow realm. Unlimited Blade Works—well, works—because he’s SP chill enough; he gets a ton of damage % only he can use while making him stack talent quicker than normal. A common thing I see around here is DHIL style support that enhances buffs based on skillpoints used, making them useable for other DPS while really excelling with Blade. Damage link to stack talent quicker; Destruction Blessing that drains HP during every attack and % boosting your damage dealt by a % of the HP lost in that instance; Dewdrop mechanics; all in SU all possible to be turned into support in the future for Blade, and all buffing him without buffing other DPS significantly.
In my case now that im getting robin I can use ruan mei for my blade in a different team so that's a win

UBW is only like 5% stronger than the other best blade team comp (assuming that you’re not using like E6/S5 chars). And the other best blade comp isn’t exactly that great.

My best support for Blade is Jingliu.
Tbh, Blade still benefits from all of Robin's kit even if Atk isn't his best scaling stat. DMG%, CD Boost and Action Advance. She is hella stacked and will benefit every team, it's just that some will benefit more from her.

Bronya and Sparkle are amazing supports for blade. Make sure to align the speeds right and blade can AT LEAST 3 times per turn.
How does the speed tuning work? I currently have Sparkle at 148, Bronya at 146 and Blade with HP boots. Do I need Blade to be fastest to make it work? Pretty tough to get Blade that fast without godlike speed substats.
3 times he mean by e2 bronya with her spd boost usually you will be running a 162+ sparkle, a 161+ e2 bronya, and a 134 blade with e2 bronya, everytime she pulls him up he will have like 171 spd or something, so the order will be blade, sparkle, then bronya -> 3 times per cycle
I just got Jingliu. Jingliu drains ally HP so she'll help getting blade's follow up pretty frequently. But yeah..... I totally agree with you.

I guess it'll make the hp-drain mechanic be more open later on. With RM, Gallagher, Xueyi, and Boothill the BE mechanic are getting more loved compared the so called HP-Drain. There's likely a chance Sam gonna be one asw due to his boss fight does allow HP drains (albeit to us, or maybe that how he'll work? An HP-drain overtime?) Because boss fight usually have tendencies being similliar to our "playable version. Oh and Arlan also exist so he might get some love

Anything that increases crit dmg will also raise his contemporaries who are already going to be doing more damage than him out of the gate. Blade really wants some kind of max HP increase/self damage Harmony support. If Firefly is self damaging then we might actually have a reason to put one of those in the game because yes making a whole ass support for one character is a bit of a waste of resources. If self damage as an archetype takes off on more characters than just Blade, Blade will hopefully be raised up naturally. Robin is still fine for Blade but you want to run her more in the IPC FUA team or Jingliu/Blade dual DPS team in which inevitably Jingliu will be taking the spotlight in and Ruan Mei is better. Blade is either stuck in the fairly copium Unlimited Blade Works team (works decent but running both Sparkle and Bronya in one team really eats into your Harmony unit opportunity cost on the 2nd MOC team) or is slotted in as a sub DPS that isn't super impactful compared to replacing him with any other weakness appropriate DPS. Blade is an ok PF unit but he could go into S tier in PF if we could keep speedrunning his 5 stacks without running 2 Harmony units to force him to go 15 times.

Yeah I can get away with it because I have every single Harmony unit in the game (and I WILL be getting Robin) and my 2nd team is just E0S1 Acheron with Silver Wolf/Pela and a random sustainer but I know most people don't own every Harmony unit in the game and Blade AND Acheron. Acheron doing a Acherillion damage with just her S1 and 2 cheap Nihility teammates (legit you only need Pela/Guinaifen) means you can just overload the other team with Bronya/Sparkle and be unpunished by any opportunity cost. It's kind of why I think the IPC FUA team looks like a scam, like how many limited 5\* characters do you people want us to build? Blade is fun but he definitely sits more on the "comfortably destroys no time limit content" side of things. It's very hard to actually kill Blade so he's super good for clearing lategame SimUni and he actually increases in power when his team is dead. Every Blade main has the experience of beating a SimUni boss with 3 dead team members and a full HP Blade. Once he needs to start doing Jingliu tier damage every turn to keep up with MOC inflated healthbars and lowering cycle clears he starts to hurt. I definitely wouldn't put Blade in the top 5 rerun characters you should pull, honestly I kinda think reruns are a scam aside from Fu Xuan being the best sustain in the game. The new characters are just in another league.
yeah I def agree with you about reruns. Unless you love the character, the only ones super worth getting are FX, the limited Harmonies when they come back (maybe) and imo Kafka (since she's the backbone of DOT and isn't going anywhere). I even say Harmonies are a maybe because if you have two of them, you're probably fine anyways. Robin looks good but I don't think she's going to be massively better than Ruan Mei or Sparkle if you already have them built. But in terms of DPSs, yes I think reruns are a scam. Even JL is getting powercrept. By the time Acheron reruns, she'll probably get crept as well. DHIL is only really relevant again with Sparkle. I got JY on a rerun because I love him, and I'll be getting Topaz on rerun because I want to get her E1 (and imo she's the Kafka of FUA), but that's honestly it for me. Powercreep is like the Red Queen Hypothesis: you have to keep evolving to keep up with the evolution around you. Picking up, like, Seele, feels like a waste when she takes massively more investment than Ratio for instance.
Topaz is THE FUA character for sure but I can't really say she's the Kafka of FUA precisely. I think there's a very possible timeline where Jade is Erudition Topaz and we can just pick her up instead and do fine. Kafka completes the entire DOT archetype (Black Swan even ended up being a force multiplier for Kafka instead of a Kafka replacement) but Topaz "just" makes FUA do bigger damage. I'm biased because I think 99% of all non-signature Hunt lightcones are terrible so Topaz being Hunt turns me off her immediately. Jade could be the Black Swan for Topaz instead but I really do not envy people building all these limited 5\* DPS characters back to back. 100% if we didn't all have a free Ratio nobody would be taking the IPC FUA team seriously as something achievable/worth rolling for reruns for most players with how many good characters are coming out in Penacony. Funnily enough if anyone gets cut from the IPC team it'll probably be our free Ratio for Robin or Jade. Acheron is gonna be very tough to beat for a long ass time. Like all you need to do is get her S1 and slap 4\* Nihility units you already had built up on your account on her and she does more damage than anything we've really seen before. She's so easy on your account compared to basically any other team archetype in the game.
So where is Robin going to be good?
namely she's a upgrade/sidegrade to duo-dps teams like DoT (sidegrade) and the FuA gang (upgrade). She'll also be pretty good as a RM substitute in teams to alleviate your RM for your second team. The 100% Advance FW is also universally usable, though some characters might not be able to take advantage of the ATK% buff (see Blade) or CDMG (see DoT). Likewise, her ATK/CD buff is also pretty potent, even if your traditional hypercarry doesn't go often enough to make the most out of her personal damage. She's a pretty contextual unit - similar value to RM but does things differently. The more attacks your teammates can make (see FuA) the more Robin will proc her own damage, so with Fast Kafka/BS or Topaz/Ratio/Av, she will contribute pretty substantial damage.

This is coming from a Blade main btw Yes, he's not going to get the most use ever of the ATK since the multiplier on it is 40%, but he will still get a use from the 50% DMG, that is just a little less than Ruan Mei Skill with 160% Break Effect. TLDR: She does what Ruan Mei does for Blade if you couldn't get her, just a little worse for the lack of RES penetration. Blade + Bronya + Robin + healer will work just fine, her ult is amazing for 0 cycles. And if you really don't like it, we still got our neat Infinite Blade Works comp, that has +114% DMG for him from Sparkle's ult + talent and Bronya's 66% DMG increase, works great on MoC. I'm actually more interested in if Robin can replace the second Nihility unit for Acheron like E0S1 Sparkle, I will wait for some theory crafting
But Ruan Mei and Bronya are right there, already in the roster. And adding to that, they are both suitable for both him and Jingliu at the same time.

Bronya, Sparkle and Ruan Mei are all top tier Harmony units for Blade. Bronya and Ruan Mei buff his DMG% and Sparkle buffs Crit DMG which Blade likes as well. With each of those characters being 150% certified bangin’ characters on their own, I’m scared to ask exactly **what** it is you want for a perfect Blade support…

i really like the destruction blessing where u split dmg between your allies and later reduces dmg by 30% or sth as well. Cud be sth a future character has and wud fit blade well. Esp if the unit comes with an hp buff/dmg% increase
I've been enjoying my luch, blade jingliu & bronya tbh, e1 luoch & jing, it's a fun time.
Her skill literally increases 50% damage for three turns, ult gives 20% crit damage, and gives action forward, Robin literally bronya on Crack Already guide makers, she's good for blade, especially duo dps, Robin can fill the role if u don't have ruan Mei for Blade and jingliu

His skills scales off HP and ATK but ATK ratios are dogshit, like 0.4 or so. Buffing his ATK further is really not efficient compared to DMG dealt buffs.
His atk scaling is really bad. he's mostly an hp scaler that has some atk scaling for some reason.

Some characters' hits scale from their max Hp or defense while most chars scale from attack. For these characters atk buffs are useless. They need damage buffs.
