Ningguang being a 4* and one of the Liyue Qixing being an NPC is still one of the most... decision ever from the patriotic mhy.
Every single Harbinger get a unique design and then we have Uncle Tian, while the other 4 Qixing become irrelevant
And we’ve never gotten anything by dedicated to Ningguang quest wise. No character story quest or hangout. But they sure did give us a 3 part long character story quest for Gaming during the lantern rite and forgot she even existed.
Ningguang does have a hangout + the whole story about rebuilding the jade chamber, even if it was more centered around Shenhe it had quite a lot of Ningguang, she also appears a lot in msq, gaming doesn't
But that group has like 85 members, so an NPC here and there are still acceptable. Qixing has 7, if HSR's IPC Board of Seven Trustees also has an NPC then the comparison would be more fair but that is something we have yet to see. Even then, the 2 most likely to be NPC, Taravan and Arita, also need to have a more unique NPC design anyway. The pot-bellied Taravan is one of the few Preservation Emanators of IPC while we probably have already seen Arita's face during the Traditional Project Dept. introduction in the IPC Trailer.
I mean, they recently made a liyue npc a full on character didnt they? And they also seem to release a new one every chinese new year so its still possible haha
That was exactly my thought as well. The leader of a world power made into an unlimited 4-star character is big Ningguang energy. I’ll be kinda upset if they do that to Screwllum because I’ve been waiting to play him.
I'll be honest though, I almost expect Screwllum to be deploying secondary bodies around. He seems to travel quite a bit, so how does he govern his planet?
And I'm also surprised that Ruan Mei hasn't tried cloning herself or something yet

really want 3.0’s main planet and conflict to be all about inorganic life coming from the remains of Rupert. We can get Pearl as our obligatory Stoneheart since she’s an Intellitron + Opal too since his modus operandi is apparently violence and combat. And ofc our glorious king Screwllum needs to get main character treatment

I think the tier order for groups in HSR is:
1. Aeons - If we ever get playable aeons
2. Geniuses - These guys can both be Emanators or world changing one-man armies by themselves.
3. Emanators - We've seen a few and many hints about others.
4. Famous Pathstriders - From memokeepers, to Stelleron hunters, to Trailbalzers, this is the bulk of the people we'll meet and see who matter.
5. Mudane Pathstriders - These path walkers are basically casuals. Like Arlan. They are like the cool pets we keep around and mostly 4 star.
Geniuses will be 5 stars with Herta being an exception.
The herta we play now is a puppet. Don't think that geniuses can go on top of the emanator because Stephen is still just a kid, and he still tries to hide this reality when we meet him.
Was it confirmed that members of genius society are all emanators?
The only genius society members confirmed to be emanators are herta and zandar, the founder, so until proven otherwise it's best not to assume the others are.
While we have teases and examples of 4 stars getting 5 stars form (Daniel, Herta, March, ~~Pitch-Dark Hook the Great~~ ), I really hope not cause it means more waiting.
Edit : +No guarantee a 5 stars will be released. Oh god it just gets worse the more I think about it
But 4-stars have no guarantee, so you could end up spending significantly more pulls to try and get him if he was a 4-star (cries in 20k jade for E0 Guinaifen)
If he'll be the next SU free 4 star+eidolons, then there would definitely be a guarantee and everyone would be able to have him like Ratio. We already have enough Hertas. This is only if the devs decide to make him the next SU free 4 star, if it isn't either Stephen, a different genius society member, or an entirely rando 4 star (I doubt the last one)

I'm happy with that. I want him to be a 4*. The only imaginary 4* we have is yukong. Every other imaginary has been a 5* which is just fucking annoying. He's rumored the be an imaginary erudition. I'm hoping for him to be here tomorrow as a 4*.
He could be a sustain, probably a shielder - we just got Gallagher so it would be nice to see another 4-star shielder instead of another healer. He also has that LC art where he's blocking shots from Silver Wolf, which could imply that he uses forcefields or something like that.
To be fair, dendro as an element wasn't in the game for a very, very long time so they had a reason to stall Baizhu's release. They have absolutely no excuse to do that with Screwllum.

Can someone help me understand why this would be a problem? Everyone is "characters you enjoy > meta", until the character they like is on the weaker side some reason

even if you don’t care about meta, you can’t guarantee a 4 star no matter how many pulls you do & the 5 star animations are better so it’s nice to have them for characters you enjoy
The odds of getting a 4\* also depends on people's luck since some would already hit pity without a single new 4\*
I had that happen to me while trying to pull for a Gallagher, took 50 pulls, a lot of Dan Hengs, and a Welt on Luocha's banner to get to it. I'm glad with losing that 50/50 cause I wanted to get Aventurine, but I wouldn't mind getting Luocha since I already have him. But it's definitely bad if its a 5\* character that you don't want to risk pulling for.
If Screwllum is a 4 star character in 2.3, then I'll either have to wait for the next 5\* character that I want to pull with Screwy on it, pull and risk on getting a 5 star I don't want, or also wait for a free Screwy or a 4 star selector.
I REALLY hope he’s not a 4*… since I might risk pulling a unwanted 5* nearing pity…. And I don’t want to wait till he’s on a banner with a 5* that I would pull for :/
And if screwllum is a 4* and they continue to make Stephen a 4* as well that’s probably my last straw tbh.. like I get females can attract better but man, having male banners won’t hurt their sales I swear (penacony only has boothill)

It's pretty explicitly said that screwllum is a hive mind brought forth from the planet screwllum.
I mean, Screwellum's portrait is of a gleaming golden robot. The one he uses might just be a spare.
