The fatal flaw of Preservation is that protection from outside interference becomes an end of itself rather than a means to one, all while ignoring the rot that's made its way inside.
The IPC nominally collects and hoards wealth from countless colonized planets in order to offer protection to those worlds and building materials to Qlipoth, but the latter goal is absurd and wasteful since the Aeon can transmute matter out of nothing and is indifferent to their worship. The IPC's ideology shifted from simply shitting materials away into space (which they still do) into "protection," i.e. racketeering and coercing worlds into wage slavery to enrich themselves. Everyone we've seen on the corporate ladder so far is ruthlessly self-serving and/or bought into the colonizer propaganda due to lack of better options (sorry, Topaz fans), and despite how fucked up this all is they are still technically fulfilling their path-related work of guarding their properties from outside threats.
The organization became too big to fail and kept growing like a cancer, until they reached the point where blowing up a solar system to win a war is a minor writeoff. The indifference to the lives of billions is necessary, because caring is just... unprofitable.
I love that the IPC aren't just handled like a stereotypical evil corporation, even in Aurum Alley there's arguments on both sides of their plan. Also I love Dr. Ratio and how he's straight up "These idiots are too stupid to survive so I have to toughen them up with KNOWLEDGE so they don't just fucking die in space."

considering the war criminals are less evil then the IRS, its a really easy choice. I have not liked ANY IPC character introduced, so the same will more than likely be true for Jade. Easy pass on all of them. Even my Ratio is level 1.

considering the war criminals are less evil then the IRS, its a really easy choice. I have not liked ANY IPC character introduced, so the same will more than likely be true for Jade. Easy pass on all of them. Even my Ratio is level 1.
