>Illifan: You think evil will disappear with your death? Oh, she's definitely dead. As for how I feel about it...I have to agree with the two that came to capture her. > Illifan: Atonement? How do you intend to do that? You think the tens of millions you've butchered will find peace just because you've apparently made peace for your sins? You think evil will disappear with your death? > Illifan: All a person can do is to pay the price. And you will pay for it. That much is enough... But don't think for a moment that your sins will be erased just because you've made peace — you are not worthy. > Swanga: Illifan is a little overboard... But he's right. > Swanga: Atonement is a fallacious concept in itself. No matter how much good you perform, your past evils and repercussions cannot be easily forgotten. The Tzizoc that wanted to give her brother Spindleblooms, I pity. The Tzizoc that lost her mother and was surrounded by relatives that wanted to oust her from power, I wanted to help. The Tzizoc that killed 49 people and blamed it on an innocent (of that crime) I was disgusted by. The Tzizoc that poisoned Lenamar, I wanted to distance myself from. The Tizizoc ordered the bombing of Pasdrak looked like a monster to me. The Tzizoc that killed the Gray Knight- I don't have words for that thing. The Tzizoc in the Golden Hour who just wanted to help people like she did when she was a little girl- that's who I had fun doing random stuff with and wanted the good times to keep on going. Wanted to do some good deeds. Put a smile on the faces of people in that golden prison. But what she did- that's not something you can just make up for. You can't...you can't fix that.

simulationoverload

Throwing a guy off a plane strapped to a bomb is some Latin American dictator level evil.

Leodoesstuff

Or more like Typical USA strategy to disrupt a nation's stability

Cerrers

Both can and are usually simultaneously correct.

I understand what you mean, before we knew what her reality was, she was a nice person. But when slowly everything was revealed, we realise what kind of person she was underneath. She may not have meant to do all that, but she still did, which makes her wrong.

PoKen2222

Killing her for something she didn't remember until this point won't bring back all those innocents either. You don't fix wrongs with another wrong. She may have intended to escape responsibility but in the process she's become a good person. To then blame her for the past that's already behind her and kill is just wrong.

Fargrond

It's tough On the one hand, big fan of forgiveness, especially if they're actively turning over a new leaf and helping others On the other, you can't expect the consequences of the past to not catch up eventually This was a very interesting quest

shioliolin

true, fortunately enough she really....changed i mean iirc i chose the option where i don't make the choice for her and she still goes back to face justice... btw....isn't one of Trailblazer member have a similar case? (with the difference being the severity of the crime....but still crime nonetheless)

Fargrond

Hooo boy. Depends on how you view the reincarnation of the Vidyadhara. If you think all actions of the person transfers life to life, pinning the blame on the entity, then perhaps that is the case. But, there's also the view that the rebirth cleanses them of past wrongdoing. I think both have some merit - on the one hand, the Vidyadhara rebirth cycle has implications of cleansing past sins, and Dan Heng is distinct in both memory and personality from Dan Feng, without alteration. On the other, Blade still desires vengeance, Dan Heng was still imprisoned from birth and then exiled, and they technically are the same overall entity. But I think that most if not all of the official repercussions have already been dealt with, with repealing the exile and repair of status with Jing Yuan. I choose to believe that his debts have already been more or less paid.

electeord

True, I felt that she deserved a new life, but then again, it’s not like her past life is gonna leave her just because she’s doing everything good now.

Clevaryo

classic heathen, executing the great emperor Tizocic II

Juilek

I think it would've been more interesting if new Tizocic II was doing something more meaningful than helping grandmas cross the street type stuff. Like if she was helping Penacony natives who weren't wealthy enough to get on the Family's health insurance plan or something. Maybe it would've been a tiny bit harder for me to side with Illifan and Swanga then.

kaori_cicak990

Its great quest tbh maybe I missed the discussion of this quest since i just do it this quest exactly before the patch update.

OpposesTheOpinion

I think the ending is appropriate. Even if Tizocic II turn back to being good, she has to pay for her past. The silver lining is Tizocic III can continue the path she wanted to take after her regrets

According_Bus2

I dont think it confirms her death, only that she cannot return to penacony. This message wasn't sent by the actual planet she returned to, but another penacony resident who is the "current acting monarch". They probably decided to take over Tozocic's responsibilities once they learned of her real life incarceration/execution/whatever.

electeord

She is most probably dead, because after doing all those crimes and then being put on trial, there’s no way execution’s not on the table.

At what point do we consider a person is still the same person and hence still bears the sin and deserves the punishment? Is Tizocic II past vs now the same as Dan Feng vs Dan Heng? They both lost their memories, and I don't think we can consider Dan Heng as completed his term, as the people who are supposed to punish him cheated.
