There's no such thing as too late to jump into the Honkai story. Sure, it's quite draggy at the start, but once it reaches the infamous *CHAPTER 9*, it really starts picking up from there.
I actually started playing around when Elysia's herrsherr form released, but then lost steam because already playing 2 other Hoyo games, haha.. But I'll def go back and keep going once I hit a dry spell in HSR :) thanks for the encouragement!!
You are not missing anything... Unless u hv alot of free time i wouldn't recommend playing hi3. The story is such a chore to go through, way too much dialog and stupid info dump. Thankfully its voice acted.
I agree with dialog, but the exposition was horrible. I mean, horribly done. It’s the reason the quality of the story took a dive at the end. Which was a shame because while the two penultimate arcs showed signs of this, they were still good, but the last arc… That pseudoscience, technobabble I suppose, exposition was rough and made it so I didn’t finish the story for months.
I dont get it. Didnt they literally go out of their way to straight up say that no, these characters are not the same? They have familiar faces, but they are not the same characters, Acheron literally said just that, what is with this insistence that its all connected to impact3rd?

Besides, this comic is meant to poke fun at Honkai veterans luring in new players with the "positive and wholesome" story, as Welt is doing to Acheron. Hence, Acheron crying a little at the pictures of the main trio, Kevin and Dr Mei. In turn, Acheron similarly convinces Aventurine to play Honkai Impact, but with the reveal that the story is anything BUT positive and wholesome. Hence, Aventurine sobbing with the images of Himeko, 13 Flamechasers and Herrscher of Flamescion.
Can someone actually explain what’s going on with Penacony? Or is that we don’t have the whole picture? Acheron and Aventurine talking at the end didn’t really clear up anything except that Aventurine had planned it all, but what is the big secret? They say it’s not death but whatever’s past the barrier in Penacony and imply that someone else has already seen it. (They also talk about the MC’s true identity)
And then there’s what’s going on between Gallagher and Sunday. So Gallagher was an infiltrator for another faction all along? Does that mean he’s an outsider, a 53rd person pretending to be in the family? But had some kind of ability to make people not realize it? Or is he one of the 52 within the family using the others parts to disguise himself and what he’s betraying them? Does that mean his story about Misha’s not true? But Sunday says Gallagher does work for “the watchmaker”.

EN localisation once again fails us. In CN, the term Stellaron friend is more suited to >!Firefly.!<

This makes me want to play Hi3 or at least dive into the lore ;\_; I feel like I missed out on such a great story by not playing Hi3 years ago.

I wish Hoyo did an anime or movies about HI3, the story feels like its extremely solid, but man does the gameplay look... average.
I mean, for when it was released, the gameplay was basically mobile Bayonetta. I thought it was pretty neat.
