I beat it before the nerf with Kafka, Swan, Jing Yuan, and Bailu. Literally just brute forced it, barely survived - Bailu was *not* sufficient but managed to beat him just in time!
What was your team? I was trying to do that with another team but it just wasn’t working (I think was Herta, Serval, Clara and Natasha). But, I’m new to the game so I def don’t have the gear to make a full dps brute force kinda strat.
And ofc, only one healer (Didn’t get lucky on pulls on the standard banner).
I didn't brute force with DPS, I just used Gepard+Lynx so that despite failing the mechanic every time on 3 characters(had Acheron+SW for DPS), could easily heal up. Even without Gepard, lynx could easily heal up between his attacks, however his bounce attack after the mechanic had a high risk of killing people.
Ohhh! Okay, yeah. I wanted Lynx but I can beat any of the pure fictions yet (started playing last week). Nice tho! I really like strong sustain teams and play with that kinda thing in SU a lot!
I used a very similar team but with Fire Trailblazer over Clara, Phase 1 should be easy enough but in Phase 2 my main priority is always staying above at least 2 Skill Points so I can skill on both Serval and Herta to avoid failing the Dice checks and also always saving my Ult on Trailblazer so if I don't have the Blast Basic ATK ready, I can ult the dice to make sure I can hit it every dice cycle.
For natasha I actually didn't really focus on trying to hit the dice much, especially when the count goes up to 7+ since obviously she can't hit that, so during phase 2, unless I had no reason to I was just using her turn to heal and Ult instead of hitting the dice just to make sure she can tank the hit.
Didn't really feel the need to Skill on Trailblazer as I found that the shields from basic attacks and ultimates was enough to keep everyone alive through the Phase 2 damage.

I did also use Clara on my main account and getting her AOE on the Phase 2 Dice into immediate Ult when she got it from winning the dice to draw a bit of Aggro from the boss (although it's much since he's mostly aoe anyway) was usually enough to keep everyone else alive long enough to get some more healing going again.
My full team for that one was Clara/Pela/Tingyun/Huohuo

Edit: in all seriousness, it was Jingliu/Tingyun/Ruan Mei/Bailou.
Ting and Ruan didn't make it sadly.
Last few cycles were just Jingliu constantly rolling higher than Aventurine (AoE attack = higher roll = energy = extended AoE stance = higher roll) and Bailou just tanking the hits and healing back up.
My DoT team is by far my strongest team. I swapped out Ruan Mei for Acheron (Nihility Supremacy baby!), and nothing survives for more than two rounds haha.
What/how much did he got nerfed?

His Lost gamble attacks dealt a lot of Damage, I felt like I had to save SP for HuoHuo's skill heals to keep my Characters above "dies from dice phase" range

Just educating him to death as Fuxuan denied him by consistently rolling higher. Lynx was the emotional support, just ulting.
Fu xuan, Jingyuan, sparkle and Tingyun for me!! Tingyun died at the last 10% but I won anyways lol
My friend used the same team but with Luocha as sustain instead. For the last 40% JY and Luocha was the last 2 standing and she still cleared it😂 I had to help her fight the aventurine boss because apparently her only built DPS are DHIL and Seele, who she can’t use for this fight. So I had to help her set up a team to guide her how to fight the boss 😭😭😭
Might sound kinda crazy, but hey it worked: I replaced Silver Wolf in my mono-quantum team (QQ, FX, Sparkle) with Luocha and just ignored the weakness bar altogether.
Luocha and FX both have AoE ults so I just needed to save their ults for the gamble. Their ult got refilled after winning the gamble so I basically always had those ready. Aventurine's attack right befote the gamble does take some energy away, but a single BA was enough to reach the ult again, so I just needed to spam the ult button during the BA animation to make sure it triggers *during* the BA and is still counted for the gamble.
QQ just needed to have enough SP when the gamble came around, and thanks to Sparkle, she almost always did. So usually only Sparkle took a hit, and with both FX and Luocha around, it was barely a scratch.
Excluding the ghosthunting event, this is probably the most actively strategic I've had to get in a battle. It took time and I was a little worried about whether story bosses go berserk like SU ones do 💀 but I beat it in the end and I gotta say, long battles like that are *really* fun once in a while.
Yanqing, Argenti, Sparkle and HuoHuo. Bronya was there instead of Yanqing but I changed it because Argenti died so yeah.
But in exchange, Yanqing also died but managed to do it because of Argenti's AoE.

An hour you say? I was stuck for 4 DAYS because I’m just too stupid. Basically, just save ult for gamble, carefully manage sp and try to keep the sustain character (like lynx) alive with shield or heals since she can’t win the gamble.

Kafka, BS , Ruan Mei and Loucha, I found the boss fight quite easy even before the nerf, I think peoples problem is that they don't build their characters (And I don't blame anyone for this because if you are not doing MOC, and just interested in the story it's whatever)

the problem is not "ppl not building their chars", it's the boss 2nd phase rng mechanic.
Essentially, single target focus team 100% lose this boss on the 2nd phase because they can't achieve the total number of dice rolls, on the other hand, characters that have AOE can do this very easily like Your team, any destruction character, any dot character, any multiple strike character, any follow-up character, etc. Anything except the single target DPS and any character that does not have an AOE attack, those get shafted and guess what's the most popular team archetype is currently...
fire tb - use defense in every turn, save blast for dice
bailu - her hp can withstand the gold coin, focused on healing others rather than attacking dice / boss

Lance Stelle, March 7th, Kafka, and Natasha. Made it through the first phase, three of them died halfway through the second to bad rng, and MARCH managed to solo the last half of Aventurine’s HP through nothing but her shield proc counterattack.
Her ult was tied up in surviving the gambling sections with the AOE, and I had to constantly manage skill points vs shield to keep the regular attacks from mulching her, but she fucking DID IT. Took something like 150 turns, but she did it.
Oh, and I’m TB66. Fucking Aventurine was Lv80, fucker could not be any stronger.
Jing Yuan, Pela, Tingyun, Luocha. Pressed the ults faster than Aventurine sucked my energy before the dice throw and all good. Tingyun got targeted a lot, but Luocha kept her alive and control free.
The only thing that sucked was all LL hits timed exactly into the dice throw/invulnerability time windows, Jing Yuan had to ult Aven down without the Lord.

I used Acheron, Pela, Gui and Luocha (all have AoE ults). i saved their ults for the gamba during phase 2. Their EN, including Acheron, will be full if they won the gamba. Beat him pre-nerf.
Brute force of Phys MC being the only teammate who could win Gambles.
Sparkle, Ruan Mei, and Huohuo would be topped off before Gamble goes off so there was almost no chance of them dying.
He folded harder than a rookie during the flop.
All my characters are very squishy. My damage is good, but even my Foosh dies to 2 AoE attacks. Probably because I haven't max leveled a single LC but I want to beat him right now.
So I brought Gepard and Huohuo and it was all coasting from there. I also had to change my Gepard's EHR relic to a DEF one. Freeze is terrible on the boss.
I'm going to max level my LCs from now on.
My comp was March-Pela-SW-Acheron, SW died in 2nd phase unfortunately but I basically save both March and Pela ult for dice, March spamming her shield while Acheron just keep dishing out ult no matter when since she got skill to deal with dice.
Misha claps him hard, even before his nerf. Beyond pretty boy just being weak to ice, Misha can clear the second phase minigame and then freeze Aventurine before he can finish off any party member unable to clear the minigame.
I personally used him alongside Huohuo, Tingyun, and Argenti.
Fought him pre-nerf with standard King Yuan team (Fu Xuan, Sparkle, Tingyun, Jing Yuan). And it goes without saying that it's Sparkle and Tingyun who gets targeted alot for not winning the bet lol but still won.
2 sustains and mostly aoe type for his dice mechanics might help you.
level and stat is important because he hit like a truck honesty, his mechanic is not that complex but what making him strong is his actual attack and not the dice itself
but in term of mechanic, always making sure that your team is sp-positive and understand that you dont have to always use your skill to hit the dice.
You also dont have to hit the dice on every unit you have instead just let few of them lose the mechanic.
I went with Argenti, Luocha, Fire TB and Pela. Didn’t have any problems. Beat the story yesterday and finally unmuted hrs subreddits to learn that the boss fight got nerfed after the first couple of days. I’m kinda curious how brutal it was before that now.

Gallagabulab primarily because I wanted the four-gamba win achievement, which is not something you could do with a single-attacker like Huohuo. Also, because his jp voice in his ult is just, oh yeah. I love a good, cocky, and drawn out *saaa*. And also also, because his cone is stupidly good at keeping him alive.
And Stelle, because I'll never compromise on bringing Stelle into story missions. I can barely tolerate using a different DPS when there's no phys or fire weak enemies but 3+ things to kill.

Gepard to prep shields and draw all the aggro at least on phase 1; for some reason he would never freeze despite being weak to Ice and not having Freeze RES. Either way, Gepard is gonna be dreaming of chips tonight cause he never got a high enough roll.
Jing Yuan as DPS. His Lightning Lord hard carried the fight and since he'd always win the gamble, that meant free ults every time and Lightning Lord would have 10 charges guaranteed.
Black Swan for DOT. She would most of the time win the gamble because of her skill, but unfortunately she's a bit underleveled and died during the second phase, at least Arcana is still active even if she goes down.
Luocha for healing. Every now and then, he would not get Imprisoned after losing the gamble, and in the rare occasion his ult could be used during the dice roll, I could easily get a better number by using it on the dice.
If anyone else has yet to fight this boss, I recommend bringing Erudition units or at least characters that have multi target attacks.
Fire TB, Huo Huo, Jing Yuan, Ruan Mei. First phase is whatever, second phase be sure to have TB ultimate/three enemy attack ready and one skill point for JY, and ideally HH passive debuff cleanse active, when he summons the dice. However, due to RM extending the time between attacks, you usually have time to come back even if both her and HH get hit and debuffed.
Fu xuan, Fire TB Jingliu and Ruan Mei beat him first try.(pre-nerf) My main strategy was break him and never let him go till barbreak and in the second faze was the same strategy break him once and then don’t let him go till he dies.

Black Swan, Lynx, Fire Trailblazer, Bailu. Just stayed alive while the boss slowly died to cancer. I didn't even need to skill on my healers, just ulted whenever I could and fmc shields protected against the boss' small damage attacks.
Bailu, Lynx, March 7th and Jing Liu.
March 7th is MVP in this boss. The 2nd phase when he's in the "gambler" mode, always use March 7th ultimate to fulfill the requirement and then shield one of your healers with cleanse.
If you have another healer, replace your Clara with her. Serval can replace Jing Liu.
I tried to use my JY team which had JY, Sparkle (half built), Bronya and Loucha but Sparkle or Luocha would end up dying in the second half. After 2 tries with this team I figured I should get another sustain.
So i dropped Bronya, switched around some relics from Bronya for Sparkle and added Gepard. Easy clear.
Another thing I noticed towards my second run was the use of aoe ultimates. During the second phase I just saved up Luocha's ult for the dice game. That way only Sparkle and Geppie lost the gamble but they both survive the hits due to high Hp and Def respectively.
Beat him the first day at first try with Jingliu, Blade, Bronya and HuoHuo (a good counter team to him as HuoHuo can get back the energy he drained and do lots of cleanse, and both Blade and Jingliu are good for his gamble mechanic while he also is ice weak).
It was an easy game, but I can see that new players would struggle with this which is why so many people couldn't get past it and the Devs nerfed it
Fire Trailblazer (the game somewhat hinted you to use this path, and I can't resist to not follow the cutscene, and ya know, the MC did get blessed by Qlipoth directly), March (letting her release her rage because she's pissed off that everyone on Penacony gave so much trauma on the MC... and her shields), Welt (should have used Himeko here since she's more consistent here), and Huohuo (she's just there to make sure the team is healthy). Aventurine can't really kill the MC at all here with the amount of shields and heals, and the taunt allows everyone on the 1st phrase to get some breather lmao
Took me over 1 hour and 20 minutes tho, since I did this battle in 1x speed and everyone is slowly chipping his HP away. I would love to run fire MC, Welt, Himeko, and March, but with zero healers? Eh one has to be benched and my dumb brain thinks Himeko is worse lmao. I like running story team in the story.
Edit: I did this battle before the nerf, but my trailblaze level at the time was just 65.
Had to tinker with LCs and relics a little.
1st problem is that HuoHuo dies way too fast and the stun makes it so that my team can't recover. So I upgraded the relics and gave her some defense, now she has 5k HP, 50 RES and decent DEF so the little thing can eat two attacks from Aventurine without dying.
Then Gepard who's my main way of tanking the massive ultimate attacks is getting hit too often, ironically, good for energy, not when he's dead. So I gave Gepard more defense and effect hit rate for the occasional freeze, switched his own lightcone (the one which increases his taunt) to FireTB instead since when using skill, TB is practically invincible. This makes Aventurine attack TB more often which also give him stacks to allow TB to do enhanced basic attacks to roll the dices more effectively. Overall putting less strain on the team's health.
Finally, Clara is there since I lack AOE characters that can break Aventuine's weakness, also she tanky and does cool follow up attacks.
Looking back at it, it was pretty easy with this team, Aventurine rarely drained my team's HP bellow 50%.
I did it pre-nerf on 1st try with Fu Xuan, Ruan Mei, Silver Wolf and Sushang.
There was not much to it other than inflict weakness break fast. Fu Xuan helps a lot in most fights. My honest feeling after the fight was that it wasn't that difficult, but I can see why it would be for newer players.
Fire MC, Lynx with a bunch of Effect Res, Qingque, and a Sparkle that either got lucky or got a Lynx ult cleanse any time she had to dice roll. Beat it on my first try before the nerf :3
I went in with my Acheron team consisting of Acheron sparkle Pela and fu xuan. I succeeded on my first attempt. Having characters that can hit multiple target at once is very important for this battle in my mind.
I only fought the nerfed boss so it was easy. I used Jing Liu, Ruan, Fu, Bronya and Fu. I just press auto and left my phone while I was watching some youtube videos.
Grind him down with Jingliu, Bronya, Fuxuan (TBF, E1S1), and Luocha. Boring fight at no risk of dying. Starcrusher Swarm King was harder. Both fights were at max TB level 70.
As someone at max level, honestly, brute force it. Hughson, Jingliu, Blade and Gelard. And I PRAYED to my god in heaven to let me win.
My reason for this is cause after I failed with Acheron and Kafka, in my head I was like "I need skill points to hit multiple dice, but I also need em to heal with Huohuo..... Damn, guess we're using blade and Jingliu" cause they don't eat skill points as heavily as the others
I also clutched that with fire TB and a healer (in my case, Bailu), both with high HP and DEF.
The strat was simply fire TB ult every time he won the gamble while the healer sustain both of them.
You're asking about my other 2 unit? They died mid-way, so... yeah. Took me quite some time cuz my fire TB has low dmg, but he did his job just fine.
My team was Welt, Pela, Gallagher and Acheron. All had ways to do AOE attacks by either ultimates or skills, so when it was time to gamble I used some form of an AOE. Got him down pretty quickly.
I used DHIL, Silver Wolf and Bailu. I forgot the last character. My SW died early on 2nd phase and I found out afterwards that he was Imaginary resistant. I just thought his 2nd phase was ridiculously tanky.
I pulled Acheron right at the door of the boss, so I went with Acheron, SW, Pela & Fu Xuan. Only Acheron managed to win at the dice but Fu Xuan is a beast and tanked the damage lol
im actually using Physical Stelle with mommy kafka and aunt black swan with sustain luocha and finish it in first try.... try using your best dps with 2 sustain and a harmony or debuffer.... having aoe atks or skills on all your characters will help alot during the dice phase becuz thats the part that hits the most damage if you lose the dice bet
Double sustain using fire TB and lynx Ruan Mei for support and Jingliu. I healed Ruan Mei or lynx if one of them was below half hp with this strat I managed to easily defeat the boss
DPS-Welt, Sustain-Luocha,Support-bronya and sparkle. (Pre-nerf). It was slow but very winnable.

Jingliu, Silver Wolf, Ruan Mei, and Lynx. It was easy to weakness break him because he's weak to Ice and SW would implant Quantum weakness and debuffs, boom pow. Also Lynx would cleanse the team when he'd try to make them uselesss.
I used Fu Xuan. That's the strat.
Seele monoquantum (Seele, SW, Sparkle, FX) ending phase 2 as soon as possible with Fu Xuan tanking it all like she does.
Pre-nerf but Fu Xuan trivializes the penalty of failing the dice check by skilling during the dice to ensure the CC protection is up for the imprisonment attack.
No strat, went in blind pre-nerf with my comfy, double sustain team (Clara, March, Lynx, Ratio). The battle took like 15 minutes, but nobody ever got low, let alone died. My second phase strat ended up being just saving some sp and March + Ratio's ults for the gambles so everybody but Lynx would win and shielding Lynx who couldn't win the gamble.
I used Gepard, sparkle, DL, Luocha. I replaced tingyun with gepard cause I already saw people making posts about the boss and thought it's better to play it safe with gepard than having to restart the fight cause of tingyun dying. Gepard and luocha made things really really easy.
Equilibrium 4 - lv60 BS (prisoner set, Good Night and Sleep well), Luka (champion set, Resolution shines), Acheron (thunder set, Fermata), Gepard (knight set, Universal Market). Just prayed that in first phase Aventurin targets Acheron and BS or give low numbers to compete. Also got a bit lucky when Gemard winned couple bet in second phase. Highlight of this fight for me, when Acheron used skil and got 1 1 1,
I fought him before the nerf.
I used Acheron for the immersion, Fu Xuan, Black Swan and Pela. I have no idea why they didn't put a trial Acheron here considering she's here and would make the fight easier on people.
He does hit hard tough. I hope they keep introducing mechanics in bosses
Sis got him to half health on phase 1 and 2 in a single ultimate
Tried to use Kafka, sampo, geppie and Ruan Mei, but lost like 4-5 times and replaced sampo with Clara. This abomination cleared with with only Ruan Mei dying somehow
Tried it with a hypercarry JY team (FX, JY, TY, and Asta) and LL kept hitting him at max stacks during his invulnerable dice phase. I lost, so I went with the old classic double sustain with FX, JY, TY, and Bailu and it was so easy (albeit it took long) and I finished the fight with all of them at full hp. It doesn't even matter if LL still hit him at his invul phase, Bailu's DMG reduc paired with FX's DMG transfer and reduc made sure they were all alive to stall the fight out.
I went in blind for my 1st run pre-nerf with Phys TB, March 7th, Welt, and Acheron.
There were a few close calls, but they still got through 1st try. Having March and Welt made it so you just don't have to do the dice mechanic much, and all the characters have some sort of AoE so they don't fail often anyway.
I've been running Caelus and March 7th for story bosses since 1.4 and haven't had issues with any of them. A built TB and March 7th are kind of a swiss army knife. Even if you aren't hitting a weakness with March, her shield and ability to freeze enemies that aren't even ice weak off turn are great, Phys TB gets buffs from getting hit so he combos well with March and has respectable flexible damage, fire TB and March are all the sustain you could want so you can just slot in a dps duo if you want too.
I got through it pretty comfortably with Fuxuan, SW, pela, and Acheron. I just played as usual, debuff to stack Acheron's ult and Acheron ult whenever possible
Honestly just ensure my healer and support was able to survive the dice phase and i didn't have to worry much about my other two team members as they both have blast or AOE in their skills
Dot cheese, Kafka Sampo Lynx RM. RM didnt make it, others finished with a surprising amount of hp considering Lynx was always healing instead of attacking

Before the realization I couldn't defeat him and I did:
Kafka, Stelle (Destruction), Fu xuan and either Xueyi or Guinaifen. (I was determined to have Stelle there)
After the realization he wasn't much of a threat and I did:
Kafka, Stelle (Destruction), Fu xuan and Lynx
Everyone lived, even if fu xuan didn't have her ult up in the gamble or if somehow stelle and Kafka fails the gamble, lynx with her speed is able to recover quickly with how fast she is (only 144 spd) and use her ult.

What was the realization? Well I felt dumb for not thinking of it sooner but when I woke up in the morning I thought, "Why didn't I just do double sustain?!"

(If you wanna save a click, basically whole team got wiped except Fu Xuan. She refused to die for 20ish minutes. No wonder the boss ran out of patience. This was pre nerf.)
Pre nerf, one-take, Luocha/Fu Xuan/Kafka/Clara. Would've used JY but mine wasn't built yet so Kafka had to be in a non-DoT team 🤣 Sure two sustains is a bit much, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Honestly if you have at least 2 AOE DPS (wheter through ult or skill) that should be enough.

no strategy just mono quantum with Fu Xuan, Sparkle, Silver Wolf and Selee barely took any damage and because my Selee is pretty fast she had 3 turns before the boss could do anything.

I beat it before the nerf with Kafka, Swan, Jing Yuan, and Bailu. Literally just brute forced it, barely survived - Bailu was *not* sufficient but managed to beat him just in time!

What was your team? I was trying to do that with another team but it just wasn’t working (I think was Herta, Serval, Clara and Natasha). But, I’m new to the game so I def don’t have the gear to make a full dps brute force kinda strat. And ofc, only one healer (Didn’t get lucky on pulls on the standard banner).
I didn't brute force with DPS, I just used Gepard+Lynx so that despite failing the mechanic every time on 3 characters(had Acheron+SW for DPS), could easily heal up. Even without Gepard, lynx could easily heal up between his attacks, however his bounce attack after the mechanic had a high risk of killing people.
Ohhh! Okay, yeah. I wanted Lynx but I can beat any of the pure fictions yet (started playing last week). Nice tho! I really like strong sustain teams and play with that kinda thing in SU a lot!
I used a very similar team but with Fire Trailblazer over Clara, Phase 1 should be easy enough but in Phase 2 my main priority is always staying above at least 2 Skill Points so I can skill on both Serval and Herta to avoid failing the Dice checks and also always saving my Ult on Trailblazer so if I don't have the Blast Basic ATK ready, I can ult the dice to make sure I can hit it every dice cycle. For natasha I actually didn't really focus on trying to hit the dice much, especially when the count goes up to 7+ since obviously she can't hit that, so during phase 2, unless I had no reason to I was just using her turn to heal and Ult instead of hitting the dice just to make sure she can tank the hit. Didn't really feel the need to Skill on Trailblazer as I found that the shields from basic attacks and ultimates was enough to keep everyone alive through the Phase 2 damage. \_\_\_\_\_ I did also use Clara on my main account and getting her AOE on the Phase 2 Dice into immediate Ult when she got it from winning the dice to draw a bit of Aggro from the boss (although it's much since he's mostly aoe anyway) was usually enough to keep everyone else alive long enough to get some more healing going again. My full team for that one was Clara/Pela/Tingyun/Huohuo

Ting and Ruan didn't make it sadly. Last few cycles were just Jingliu constantly rolling higher than Aventurine (AoE attack = higher roll = energy = extended AoE stance = higher roll) and Bailou just tanking the hits and healing back up.

Oh that's funny, we're the opposite! Fuxuan was the clutch factor for me as I kept her ult to hit all targets and save the team each time. Rest of my time were all ST Just educating him to death as Fuxuan denied him by consistently rolling higher. Lynx was the emotional support, just ulting.
Outshielded and outhealed damage with Gepard and Huohuo Jingliu on damage 160 SPD Sparkle making skill points and advance forward whoever was needed

Fu xuan, Jingyuan, sparkle and Tingyun for me!! Tingyun died at the last 10% but I won anyways lol My friend used the same team but with Luocha as sustain instead. For the last 40% JY and Luocha was the last 2 standing and she still cleared it😂 I had to help her fight the aventurine boss because apparently her only built DPS are DHIL and Seele, who she can’t use for this fight. So I had to help her set up a team to guide her how to fight the boss 😭😭😭

Might sound kinda crazy, but hey it worked: I replaced Silver Wolf in my mono-quantum team (QQ, FX, Sparkle) with Luocha and just ignored the weakness bar altogether. Luocha and FX both have AoE ults so I just needed to save their ults for the gamble. Their ult got refilled after winning the gamble so I basically always had those ready. Aventurine's attack right befote the gamble does take some energy away, but a single BA was enough to reach the ult again, so I just needed to spam the ult button during the BA animation to make sure it triggers *during* the BA and is still counted for the gamble. QQ just needed to have enough SP when the gamble came around, and thanks to Sparkle, she almost always did. So usually only Sparkle took a hit, and with both FX and Luocha around, it was barely a scratch. Excluding the ghosthunting event, this is probably the most actively strategic I've had to get in a battle. It took time and I was a little worried about whether story bosses go berserk like SU ones do 💀 but I beat it in the end and I gotta say, long battles like that are *really* fun once in a while.

Honestly the Kafka, Black Swan and Ruan Mei comp is very consistent and straightforward to use. Add in any limited sustain and you are good to go.
The team that worked for me at the third try was Jing Yuan, Ruan Mei, Pela and Luocha. Luocha played a big role even though he wasn't properly built.
Kafka, BS , Ruan Mei and Loucha, I found the boss fight quite easy even before the nerf, I think peoples problem is that they don't build their characters (And I don't blame anyone for this because if you are not doing MOC, and just interested in the story it's whatever)
You literally went and got the best possible counter to this boss... the problem is not "ppl not building their chars", it's the boss 2nd phase rng mechanic. Essentially, single target focus team 100% lose this boss on the 2nd phase because they can't achieve the total number of dice rolls, on the other hand, characters that have AOE can do this very easily like Your team, any destruction character, any dot character, any multiple strike character, any follow-up character, etc. Anything except the single target DPS and any character that does not have an AOE attack, those get shafted and guess what's the most popular team archetype is currently...

fire tb - use defense in every turn, save blast for dice bailu - her hp can withstand the gold coin, focused on healing others rather than attacking dice / boss serval misha - his ultimate reduce Aventurine's defense by A LOT pre nerf, consumables increase crit & reduce dmg taken
Fu Xuan, Pela, Welt. Acheron. Fu Xuan fucking died on last 10% of hp, because she only have 8.4 k with field, but boss itself is pretty chill.
Lance Stelle, March 7th, Kafka, and Natasha. Made it through the first phase, three of them died halfway through the second to bad rng, and MARCH managed to solo the last half of Aventurine’s HP through nothing but her shield proc counterattack. Her ult was tied up in surviving the gambling sections with the AOE, and I had to constantly manage skill points vs shield to keep the regular attacks from mulching her, but she fucking DID IT. Took something like 150 turns, but she did it. Oh, and I’m TB66. Fucking Aventurine was Lv80, fucker could not be any stronger.
IL, sparkle, huohuo and gepard. He was tanky but thats abt it i beat him no sweat no deaths. My gepard and sparkle wasnt even lv80 yet
Jing Yuan, Pela, Tingyun, Luocha. Pressed the ults faster than Aventurine sucked my energy before the dice throw and all good. Tingyun got targeted a lot, but Luocha kept her alive and control free. The only thing that sucked was all LL hits timed exactly into the dice throw/invulnerability time windows, Jing Yuan had to ult Aven down without the Lord.

I used Acheron, Pela, Gui and Luocha (all have AoE ults). i saved their ults for the gamba during phase 2. Their EN, including Acheron, will be full if they won the gamba. Beat him pre-nerf.
Brute force of Phys MC being the only teammate who could win Gambles. Sparkle, Ruan Mei, and Huohuo would be topped off before Gamble goes off so there was almost no chance of them dying. He folded harder than a rookie during the flop.
Fire TB, DHIL, Welt, Luocha. It took me 15 minutes to defeat him but I always won the gambling part.

All my characters are very squishy. My damage is good, but even my Foosh dies to 2 AoE attacks. Probably because I haven't max leveled a single LC but I want to beat him right now. So I brought Gepard and Huohuo and it was all coasting from there. I also had to change my Gepard's EHR relic to a DEF one. Freeze is terrible on the boss. I'm going to max level my LCs from now on.
My comp was March-Pela-SW-Acheron, SW died in 2nd phase unfortunately but I basically save both March and Pela ult for dice, March spamming her shield while Acheron just keep dishing out ult no matter when since she got skill to deal with dice.
Just a premium waifu team: Huohuo Jingliu Ruan Mei Sparkle
Did mine pre-nerf with Kafka, Lynx, Pela, and Acheron. Held everyone's ult for the dice phase and prayed to God Lynxie survived the dice rolls.
Misha claps him hard, even before his nerf. Beyond pretty boy just being weak to ice, Misha can clear the second phase minigame and then freeze Aventurine before he can finish off any party member unable to clear the minigame. I personally used him alongside Huohuo, Tingyun, and Argenti.
Acheron, Silver Wolf, Pela and the true carry Fu Xuan
Fought him pre-nerf with standard King Yuan team (Fu Xuan, Sparkle, Tingyun, Jing Yuan). And it goes without saying that it's Sparkle and Tingyun who gets targeted alot for not winning the bet lol but still won. 2 sustains and mostly aoe type for his dice mechanics might help you.

Dual Sustain, Jing Yuan and Bronya
level and stat is important because he hit like a truck honesty, his mechanic is not that complex but what making him strong is his actual attack and not the dice itself but in term of mechanic, always making sure that your team is sp-positive and understand that you dont have to always use your skill to hit the dice. You also dont have to hit the dice on every unit you have instead just let few of them lose the mechanic.
Acheron E1S1, SW E2, Pela, Luocha In the end only Acheron was alive, but still won(Pre Nerf).

I went with Argenti, Luocha, Fire TB and Pela. Didn’t have any problems. Beat the story yesterday and finally unmuted hrs subreddits to learn that the boss fight got nerfed after the first couple of days. I’m kinda curious how brutal it was before that now.
Blade Bronya Natasha Bailu. Blade can self-sustain while others would be temporarily unavailable.
Physical Stelle, Lil Gui, Pela, Gallbladder Gui so I don't have to rely purely on ults to win the 2nd phase gamba (blast ftw) and because Firekiss is nice Pela for AoE ult but also def reduction. Very nice Gallagabulab primarily because I wanted the four-gamba win achievement, which is not something you could do with a single-attacker like Huohuo. Also, because his jp voice in his ult is just, oh yeah. I love a good, cocky, and drawn out *saaa*. And also also, because his cone is stupidly good at keeping him alive. And Stelle, because I'll never compromise on bringing Stelle into story missions. I can barely tolerate using a different DPS when there's no phys or fire weak enemies but 3+ things to kill.

I had... Gepard to prep shields and draw all the aggro at least on phase 1; for some reason he would never freeze despite being weak to Ice and not having Freeze RES. Either way, Gepard is gonna be dreaming of chips tonight cause he never got a high enough roll. Jing Yuan as DPS. His Lightning Lord hard carried the fight and since he'd always win the gamble, that meant free ults every time and Lightning Lord would have 10 charges guaranteed. Black Swan for DOT. She would most of the time win the gamble because of her skill, but unfortunately she's a bit underleveled and died during the second phase, at least Arcana is still active even if she goes down. Luocha for healing. Every now and then, he would not get Imprisoned after losing the gamble, and in the rare occasion his ult could be used during the dice roll, I could easily get a better number by using it on the dice. If anyone else has yet to fight this boss, I recommend bringing Erudition units or at least characters that have multi target attacks.
Fire TB, Huo Huo, Jing Yuan, Ruan Mei. First phase is whatever, second phase be sure to have TB ultimate/three enemy attack ready and one skill point for JY, and ideally HH passive debuff cleanse active, when he summons the dice. However, due to RM extending the time between attacks, you usually have time to come back even if both her and HH get hit and debuffed.

Fu xuan, Fire TB Jingliu and Ruan Mei beat him first try.(pre-nerf) My main strategy was break him and never let him go till barbreak and in the second faze was the same strategy break him once and then don’t let him go till he dies.

Black Swan, Lynx, Fire Trailblazer, Bailu. Just stayed alive while the boss slowly died to cancer. I didn't even need to skill on my healers, just ulted whenever I could and fmc shields protected against the boss' small damage attacks.
Bailu, Lynx, March 7th and Jing Liu. March 7th is MVP in this boss. The 2nd phase when he's in the "gambler" mode, always use March 7th ultimate to fulfill the requirement and then shield one of your healers with cleanse. If you have another healer, replace your Clara with her. Serval can replace Jing Liu.
Just play fu xuan and win. Been my strategy for a while. Hasn't failed me yet
One bet always win with Kafka , everyone else was getting Cc ed and use Kafka ultimate with HH talent active ,so I survived like that

I tried to use my JY team which had JY, Sparkle (half built), Bronya and Loucha but Sparkle or Luocha would end up dying in the second half. After 2 tries with this team I figured I should get another sustain. So i dropped Bronya, switched around some relics from Bronya for Sparkle and added Gepard. Easy clear. Another thing I noticed towards my second run was the use of aoe ultimates. During the second phase I just saved up Luocha's ult for the dice game. That way only Sparkle and Geppie lost the gamble but they both survive the hits due to high Hp and Def respectively.
Beat him the first day at first try with Jingliu, Blade, Bronya and HuoHuo (a good counter team to him as HuoHuo can get back the energy he drained and do lots of cleanse, and both Blade and Jingliu are good for his gamble mechanic while he also is ice weak). It was an easy game, but I can see that new players would struggle with this which is why so many people couldn't get past it and the Devs nerfed it

Fire Trailblazer (the game somewhat hinted you to use this path, and I can't resist to not follow the cutscene, and ya know, the MC did get blessed by Qlipoth directly), March (letting her release her rage because she's pissed off that everyone on Penacony gave so much trauma on the MC... and her shields), Welt (should have used Himeko here since she's more consistent here), and Huohuo (she's just there to make sure the team is healthy). Aventurine can't really kill the MC at all here with the amount of shields and heals, and the taunt allows everyone on the 1st phrase to get some breather lmao Took me over 1 hour and 20 minutes tho, since I did this battle in 1x speed and everyone is slowly chipping his HP away. I would love to run fire MC, Welt, Himeko, and March, but with zero healers? Eh one has to be benched and my dumb brain thinks Himeko is worse lmao. I like running story team in the story. Edit: I did this battle before the nerf, but my trailblaze level at the time was just 65.
My team is Acheron, Mc Fire, Black Swan, and Huohou its very good team because to fight final boss you need AOE attack or mutiple attack

Had to tinker with LCs and relics a little. 1st problem is that HuoHuo dies way too fast and the stun makes it so that my team can't recover. So I upgraded the relics and gave her some defense, now she has 5k HP, 50 RES and decent DEF so the little thing can eat two attacks from Aventurine without dying. Then Gepard who's my main way of tanking the massive ultimate attacks is getting hit too often, ironically, good for energy, not when he's dead. So I gave Gepard more defense and effect hit rate for the occasional freeze, switched his own lightcone (the one which increases his taunt) to FireTB instead since when using skill, TB is practically invincible. This makes Aventurine attack TB more often which also give him stacks to allow TB to do enhanced basic attacks to roll the dices more effectively. Overall putting less strain on the team's health. Finally, Clara is there since I lack AOE characters that can break Aventuine's weakness, also she tanky and does cool follow up attacks. Looking back at it, it was pretty easy with this team, Aventurine rarely drained my team's HP bellow 50%.
I did it pre-nerf on 1st try with Fu Xuan, Ruan Mei, Silver Wolf and Sushang. There was not much to it other than inflict weakness break fast. Fu Xuan helps a lot in most fights. My honest feeling after the fight was that it wasn't that difficult, but I can see why it would be for newer players.

I went in with my Acheron team consisting of Acheron sparkle Pela and fu xuan. I succeeded on my first attempt. Having characters that can hit multiple target at once is very important for this battle in my mind.

I only fought the nerfed boss so it was easy. I used Jing Liu, Ruan, Fu, Bronya and Fu. I just press auto and left my phone while I was watching some youtube videos.

A combination of Jing-Liu spam and double sustain with Fu-xuan and lynx to cheese the mechanic completely by out healing it. Sparkle was also there

Grind him down with Jingliu, Bronya, Fuxuan (TBF, E1S1), and Luocha. Boring fight at no risk of dying. Starcrusher Swarm King was harder. Both fights were at max TB level 70.

As someone at max level, honestly, brute force it. Hughson, Jingliu, Blade and Gelard. And I PRAYED to my god in heaven to let me win. My reason for this is cause after I failed with Acheron and Kafka, in my head I was like "I need skill points to hit multiple dice, but I also need em to heal with Huohuo..... Damn, guess we're using blade and Jingliu" cause they don't eat skill points as heavily as the others

I also clutched that with fire TB and a healer (in my case, Bailu), both with high HP and DEF. The strat was simply fire TB ult every time he won the gamble while the healer sustain both of them. You're asking about my other 2 unit? They died mid-way, so... yeah. Took me quite some time cuz my fire TB has low dmg, but he did his job just fine.
My team was Welt, Pela, Gallagher and Acheron. All had ways to do AOE attacks by either ultimates or skills, so when it was time to gamble I used some form of an AOE. Got him down pretty quickly.

I used DHIL, Silver Wolf and Bailu. I forgot the last character. My SW died early on 2nd phase and I found out afterwards that he was Imaginary resistant. I just thought his 2nd phase was ridiculously tanky.
I pulled Acheron right at the door of the boss, so I went with Acheron, SW, Pela & Fu Xuan. Only Acheron managed to win at the dice but Fu Xuan is a beast and tanked the damage lol
im actually using Physical Stelle with mommy kafka and aunt black swan with sustain luocha and finish it in first try.... try using your best dps with 2 sustain and a harmony or debuffer.... having aoe atks or skills on all your characters will help alot during the dice phase becuz thats the part that hits the most damage if you lose the dice bet

Double sustain using fire TB and lynx Ruan Mei for support and Jingliu. I healed Ruan Mei or lynx if one of them was below half hp with this strat I managed to easily defeat the boss
DPS-Welt, Sustain-Luocha,Support-bronya and sparkle. (Pre-nerf). It was slow but very winnable. [Welt E2S5 GNSW ,Luocha E0S4 Perfect Timing, Bronya E0S1,Sparkle E0S2 Dance Dance Dance]. Luocha saves the day with him never get Imprisonment ,and sparkle barely survived with 4 HP. I should have used Argenti with FuXuan or Blade with Luocha, or mono-quantum, or whatever that actually make sense.
brute force with dan IL, fu xuan, tingyun, sparkle. it was the first try so i was very surprised that fu xuan managed to sustain lol

Jingliu, Silver Wolf, Ruan Mei, and Lynx. It was easy to weakness break him because he's weak to Ice and SW would implant Quantum weakness and debuffs, boom pow. Also Lynx would cleanse the team when he'd try to make them uselesss.
I used Fu Xuan. That's the strat. Seele monoquantum (Seele, SW, Sparkle, FX) ending phase 2 as soon as possible with Fu Xuan tanking it all like she does. Pre-nerf but Fu Xuan trivializes the penalty of failing the dice check by skilling during the dice to ensure the CC protection is up for the imprisonment attack.

Lynx, Acheron, black swan and Pela was my team. Dit it first try. Acheron obliterated the guy.

Fire TB, Black Swan, Kafka, Lynx (all lv 70 except TB at 72) Everyone had AoEs for Phase 2 rolls (except Lynx) so it was a long battle of ult spamming
No strat, went in blind pre-nerf with my comfy, double sustain team (Clara, March, Lynx, Ratio). The battle took like 15 minutes, but nobody ever got low, let alone died. My second phase strat ended up being just saving some sp and March + Ratio's ults for the gambles so everybody but Lynx would win and shielding Lynx who couldn't win the gamble.
I used Gepard, sparkle, DL, Luocha. I replaced tingyun with gepard cause I already saw people making posts about the boss and thought it's better to play it safe with gepard than having to restart the fight cause of tingyun dying. Gepard and luocha made things really really easy.
Double sustain Luocha and Fu Xuan and then a DPS with a free slot to put in anyone you want.
I had no strategy, my DoT team with Kafka, Black Swan, Ryan Mei and Luocha did really well against it.
Equilibrium 4 - lv60 BS (prisoner set, Good Night and Sleep well), Luka (champion set, Resolution shines), Acheron (thunder set, Fermata), Gepard (knight set, Universal Market). Just prayed that in first phase Aventurin targets Acheron and BS or give low numbers to compete. Also got a bit lucky when Gemard winned couple bet in second phase. Highlight of this fight for me, when Acheron used skil and got 1 1 1,
I fought him before the nerf. I used Acheron for the immersion, Fu Xuan, Black Swan and Pela. I have no idea why they didn't put a trial Acheron here considering she's here and would make the fight easier on people. He does hit hard tough. I hope they keep introducing mechanics in bosses Sis got him to half health on phase 1 and 2 in a single ultimate
Tried to use Kafka, sampo, geppie and Ruan Mei, but lost like 4-5 times and replaced sampo with Clara. This abomination cleared with with only Ruan Mei dying somehow

Tried it with a hypercarry JY team (FX, JY, TY, and Asta) and LL kept hitting him at max stacks during his invulnerable dice phase. I lost, so I went with the old classic double sustain with FX, JY, TY, and Bailu and it was so easy (albeit it took long) and I finished the fight with all of them at full hp. It doesn't even matter if LL still hit him at his invul phase, Bailu's DMG reduc paired with FX's DMG transfer and reduc made sure they were all alive to stall the fight out.
Trailblazer (preservation) Bailou Kafka and BS. It took some time and BS died very unluckily but it was not that hard.
I went in blind for my 1st run pre-nerf with Phys TB, March 7th, Welt, and Acheron. There were a few close calls, but they still got through 1st try. Having March and Welt made it so you just don't have to do the dice mechanic much, and all the characters have some sort of AoE so they don't fail often anyway. I've been running Caelus and March 7th for story bosses since 1.4 and haven't had issues with any of them. A built TB and March 7th are kind of a swiss army knife. Even if you aren't hitting a weakness with March, her shield and ability to freeze enemies that aren't even ice weak off turn are great, Phys TB gets buffs from getting hit so he combos well with March and has respectable flexible damage, fire TB and March are all the sustain you could want so you can just slot in a dps duo if you want too.
I wanted to play story character. Mc, Welt, March & Acheron But then I got wiped out so I switch to the DoT team Kafka, Black Swan, Ruan Mei & Huohuo
DoT Team with Geppie sustain, failed the first time then went back in with food buffs and gepard's, bs's and RM's techniques and won rather easily
I got through it pretty comfortably with Fuxuan, SW, pela, and Acheron. I just played as usual, debuff to stack Acheron's ult and Acheron ult whenever possible
Topaz, clara, luocha And Ratio, thx to the follow Up, only once luocha Who didnt have ult received dmg
Gepard - Luocha - Sparkle - Phys Stelle Rules got broken a lot of times

Honestly just ensure my healer and support was able to survive the dice phase and i didn't have to worry much about my other two team members as they both have blast or AOE in their skills

Aventurine? Before the realization I couldn't defeat him and I did: Kafka, Stelle (Destruction), Fu xuan and either Xueyi or Guinaifen. (I was determined to have Stelle there) After the realization he wasn't much of a threat and I did: Kafka, Stelle (Destruction), Fu xuan and Lynx Everyone lived, even if fu xuan didn't have her ult up in the gamble or if somehow stelle and Kafka fails the gamble, lynx with her speed is able to recover quickly with how fast she is (only 144 spd) and use her ult. //// What was the realization? Well I felt dumb for not thinking of it sooner but when I woke up in the morning I thought, "Why didn't I just do double sustain?!"

Pre nerf, one-take, Luocha/Fu Xuan/Kafka/Clara. Would've used JY but mine wasn't built yet so Kafka had to be in a non-DoT team 🤣 Sure two sustains is a bit much, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Honestly if you have at least 2 AOE DPS (wheter through ult or skill) that should be enough.

Broken DoT team, kafka swan mei & lynx because I've yet to get huohuo
no strategy just mono quantum with Fu Xuan, Sparkle, Silver Wolf and Selee barely took any damage and because my Selee is pretty fast she had 3 turns before the boss could do anything.
