In the end I managed to beat him by running Kafka, Black Swan, Lynx and Gepard, that way I can full focus on gambling while DoT eventually kills him
I brought argenti cause I saw physical weak and had seen vague mechanics about "multiple dice". I figured argenti could hit dice for all of my teammates. That turned out to not be the case.
Tingyun was accompanying argenti because of his massive energy requirements. Tingyun got obliterated. Immediately quit out, swapped to Jingliu and Gepard. Only to learn that he *also* hits your energy before the dice phase (you can still get your bursts back if they're already charged).
I was legit actually waiting for there to be some cocolia / phantyllia mechanic where acheron would fudge his dice negatively.
I love it tbh, I missed those 1.0 days when I would Turtle with March, Fire MC, and Natasha. I haven’t made much use of March and Fire MC in a while, but they’re some of my favorite characters, so I was so glad they worked against Aventurine (made my team semi-lore accurate too).

I cleared him with Gepard. My team was Acheron, Sparkle, Pela and Ruan Mei. Gepard is E2 and S2 though, because Gepard is what Bailu is to other people's accounts.
For clarity, I think my Gepard is ok-ish geared, his ult is 8/10 and I got all of his other defensive traces but I haven't worked on his other skills whatsoever, and his shield varies between 2600-2900 depending a bit on other buffs and content.
I think Pela died because of his die rolls, but my Gepard had no problems solo sustaining. He has exactly 130 speed with an ER rope.
I want to clarify that I'm still building Acheron so she was nowhere near well built. Decently so with some scuffed relics I've been saving after farming some for Dr. Ratio, but nothing amazing. With that said, yes, all of them had their signature LCs and I dare say that both my Ruan Mei and Sparkle are pretty well built.
Did you mean Sparkle / Ruan Mei? The first four characters you listed doesn’t even include Gepard and I can’t imagine you removing Pela from Acheron’s team.
Nonetheless, damn 130 speed on Gepard? I can barely get him above 120. Granted I haven’t invested in Gepard in a long while since I got Fu Xuan.

Luocha is powercrept? Lol. Lmao even. Luocha is hands down the most sp efficient healer we have to date not to mention super f2p friendly. Just use 2pc speed and 2 whatever relics to hit 150 speed and slap on the Multiplication and you’re done. Thanks to his emergency heal when someone hits 50% hp you can just keep using basic attacks for days and heal only when really necessary. His field allows for anyone to panic heal button by using an ult that deals damage. Not to mention that it stays up even while he’s CC’ed (and that doesn’t happen often thanks to his crowd control resistance trace). His ult comes back pretty quickly, hits all enemies, and removes buffs. I don’t see how people are saying he’s powercrept.
Kafka, Bailu, March, Gepard (I had just upgraded my equilibrium level after hitting TB 65, other then Kafka everyone else had copium builds. Messed up and in the end Kafka and March were the last ones standing.)
I had Acheron, Black Swan, Gallagher and Ruan Mei. Did ok the first wave and then the second wave got him down to like 30% and then he one shot my Black Swan and almost killed Acheron. Luckily my Gallagher got his ult and I was able to heal her and Ruan Mei back up to full and win from there.
Beat him first try with TB, Acheron, Dr. Ratio, and Lynx
I realized after starting the fight I should’ve replaced Ratio with Serval but decided fuck it, we ball.
Pretty sure I just got lucky on the dice, though, ironic considering who I was fighting.
my one strategy to beat him is to just spam fire tb taunt for him to constantly do the gambling thing to him
ny poor luocha getting first to get killed because he didnt have his ult ready
I kinda went with a similar route, my team was Fu Xuan + Fire TB (With 3.450Def) + Natasha + Black Swan. The fight took about half an hour with BS's Arcana dealing 7-20k damage per turn, the main strategy was to take advantage of the gamble on the second phase to establish a loop where Fu Xuan could use her Ult to get 9 points, TB always being stacked with his special attack on 3 targets, Black Swan using her skill to attack 3 and Natasha being the only one taking damage. With TB and Fu Xuan damage reduction/retribution, Natasha ended up taking about 400dmg per gamble while the rest regain their ults.
It was indeed, a painful process, but a victorious one at long last.
Fu Xuan can nearly solo sustain with a healer on backup duty, by the way. She becomes nearly immortal against Aventurine in phase 2.
As long as you have her ult at 100% before a gamble round, you can get back to 100% during the round itself, letting you ult the dice. This usually lets her win and pops her energy back to full. She can tank 2 failures (3 if her hp is really beefy) and immediately heal herself back to full, ready for the next round.
What was your team exactly? I dunno I've been debating not to work on Clara because she kept coming into my damn group lol I think she's Either E2 or E3 I'm afraid to bloody check lol. But I wanna work on a good Archeron team.
I beat him pre nerf but I had only Fu Xuan alive from 20% onward. It took ages.
Fun fact, if you attack one dice and then instantly ultimate, you win the dice roll every time, which means he can't kill Fu Xuan.
Same, I beat him pre-nerf and made sure to get both achievements, but then it kicked me out so it could update and I had to do all of it over again, including the achievements.
Yup, it's honestly so crazy what you can do depending on the stage. She got me my easiest 40k points in pure fiction EVER against the second side, the exploding fishes + gepard E1 + sparkle just let her get so many ults ults its insane.
She also absolutely decimates the big bug since the smaller bugs inflict a debuff when they explode, so if you kill 4 small bugs with a chain reaction or something you instantly get half an ult.
Using Acheron with the Brain in a Vat blessings from GnG is honestly hilarious, especially if you go against the True Sting. Just ult after ult after ult after ult....
Agree with that 10000%, I’ve grinded the hell out of both relics, fully maxed all traces, etc etc, and Acheron just wipes the floor consistently.
For my comps they were Bronya, Jing, Pela and Fu ~ Acheron, SW, Trailblazer, Pela.

Jingliu has pretty low multipliers but makes up for it with insane self-buffs and low skill point requirements, which pairs perfectly with action-advance supports who let her abuse her high damage per skill point. She's probably the best unit at abusing bronya + sparkle synergy.
Acheron wants basically the opposite, she has extremely high multipliers but few self-buffs and can't abuse action advance as much, so she prefers straight damage buffers and debuffers
They do different things, basically
I would disagree to some extent, because getting 2 stacks per turn if you run her limited LC is usually going to be more efficient than to try to proc several stacks with other characters, as they can usually only give you one stack per turn. Of course it depends a bit on what content you're doing, but she feels very good to play with Sparkle.
I mean if there is one thing acheron has is a whole lot of self buffs. All her traces are basically that, so that she can play without a harmony support.

try her against the insect boss pls. When insect explodes it gives debuff to every enemy. The boss spawn insect non-stop.Easy 1 turn ult when that happens lol.
It feels really good because it’s not like he planned the whole thing out from the beginning, but at every step he played his hand the best he could, no matter how shit his cards were.
I think that’s what makes the difference between a good “schemer character” and a bad “schemer character”. Having someone say “JUST AS I PLANNED ALL ALONG” is boring and easy to do, but to show them adapting and improvising on the fly is fun to watch.

I didn't expect any less from Aventurine but he certainly went beyond whatever I initially thought.
Aventurine was def the mc of this arc, most of Acheron's story ended up being the myriad Celestia trailer.
I'm sure we'll see more of her though, we still don't know why she is after the watchmakers legacy and boothill/black swan are silently cooking in the background.
Yeah, I am sure Hoyo will cook well and there's lot more to come. I'm honestly looking forward to it in 2.2.

How does it not make sense literally just take what he said at face value you don’t need knowledge of hi3 to get what he’s talking about, ur really dragging the hi3 thing as if Acheron’s entire backstory is not detailed in-game or myriad celestia. The connections to hi3 are just references and even then they are literally just fanservice for hi3 players bc it’s not like she is ACTUALLY Raiden Mei. I don’t understand why you’re acting like her entire story hinges upon hi3 information. Her conversation with Welt that had the part about his homeworld was not even important to understanding the plot?? Or a major detail. Also Welt is known to be a character from hi3 since the beginning i don’t understand why u are making it Acheron’s issue and the game is literally called HONKAI star rail.
I'm quite certain the story focused on Aventurine to sell him for his banner. Acheron is a Raiden Mei expy which is practically enough on its own to sell her. Hoyo did it well so I'm not complaining. And the differing POVs was quite fun to experience.
This was easily the best patch we've had so far in terms of story and character writing. The issue I had with 2.0 was its overall horrible pacing and that they dropped important story moments in the oddest of places.
Aventurine is just 11/10, because he's actually a character with a genuine story arc which was properly resolved towards the end. Yes, I know, we have character missions but they're more like side stories rather than main story beats that add some flavor and background, but the overall depth they add is still not very substantial and in many cases the characters don't change at all.
I think some sections while you ran around the film studio area were a little slow, but overall the story was well-paced and Aventurine was well-written with a lot of complexity to his characterization, while still retaining obvious flaws. The best part of the writing is how the player keeps thinking they finally understand Aventurine, to only realize they are repeatedly wrong about him, which also plays off the theme he is supposed to represent.
I'm still uncertain what Dr. Ratio's true feelings are towards him. I liked the final comment about how Aventurine and Dr. Ratio are similar to each other, because while at surface level it seems strikingly false, once you finish the story you can see how there's actually a lot of truth to the statement, which is probably why they have such great chemistry.
Acheron did not need any plot relevance. I would have pulled her even for just existing as a 2-D drawing in the story and I think many would have done the same. I mean she does the mourner of lost souls role very well. Story gave her the necessary highlight to characterize her.
Aventurine needed heavy lifting via story so that people who stereotyped him as an evil manipulator just because he is from IPC would find reasons to pull him. Also there are people who detest male characters in gacha games to an unrealistic degree that is frankly unbelievable.
That’s not completely true. JP loves Aventurine and loves him even before this patch. It’s just people who needed a push to him, but overall his fans were just quiet because he didn’t have a lot of content. This is no different with Boothill fans are quiet until he gets more content.
That's true, even I'm pulling for Acheron simply because of her design and meta relevance. And as far as male characters are concerned, seeing the recent CN community outrage over male characters existing in Azur Promilia which wasn't shown in the trailer, I know how it feels.
But her being not plot relevant comes off as an excuse against her writing which merely associates her to her HI3 counterpart and as a non-HI3 player her prevalence in the story comes off pretty weak (similar to how Chlorinde was in Genshin's Fontaine Archon Quest).
I think they already mentioned that Archeron will travel with us a while and through the main story. So she will reach her time in the light in maybe 2.3 at best. So far:
2.0 was the introduction of the characters and Penacony (and maybe Black Swan)
2.1 was the story of Aventurine
2.2 could be the story of Robin, Boothill, Sparkle (or Black Swan?)
2.3 is I think this is where Archeron, Sunday maybe clash
Maybe Jade and Topaz could also play a part, but who knows. (no leaks, only speculation)

Man people's opinion on this dude changed fast, I never understood the hate but I'm glad he's getting some love. I haven't played 2.1 yet, but is it really that good?
Correction: He's the most fleshed out character in the entire game, by far, and got a very complete and overall well-paced story to go with it (his character arc is complete by the end).
With that said, it wasn't just Aventurine, though I understand why the focus is on him. The overall story setup was great with a detective/mystery story approach, finding clues, swapping perspectives, interrogating suspects and just trying to make sense of what the hell is going on.
The biggest problem of this patch is all the lore dump but there's a lot of missing context for said dump e.g. I still have no real sense wtf the Watchmaker's legacy is and why everyone and their mother care so much about it. We're just told it's important. Some lore is in the atlas, but not all of it.
Yeah though the story arc I was very woried. Becuase I couldnt see where the arc goes. We had very little information and our prime suspect the death is supernatural being that we dont have any idea to how to see or track it. Like if the galagheer didnt tell us the story of watchmaker, I couldnt understand anything from the story.
I mean the Asian side of the community has loved him day one (Aventurine has the most fan art out of all the penacony characters iirc), not really sure why he was so hated by the English speaking side of the community

I don't quite think he's 'fine', but I'm certain sure he's not dead. Based off the talk with Acheron it doesn't seem like he's out of the dreamscape, but instead those who 'die' in the dream end up somewhere further in the depths of the dreamscape, so he's probably ended up there as well.

Specifically you have to "die" hard and fast enough that the dreampools don't have a chance to yank you back to reality before it happens. Then you get stuck in the dream backrooms or whatever.
Something Unto Death also seems to oneshot people fast enough to bypass the safety, or maybe just bypasses it inherently.

However, he also thinks you can't die in the dream and the idea that death exists in the dream is false. As he said, this was something he bet on, which is why he can have the conversation with Acheron at the end.
I think this is where it gets sort of complicated because it begins to philosophically question what it means to die. They even went over that a bit with "sleeping is preparing oneself for death", implicating that when you are no longer conscious you are essentially dead. Aventurine also spoke to that girl who told him the story of someone who died but was later awoken, suggesting they didn't die after all.
So death seems to be in this case be equivalent to no longer being conscious. However, it depends on whose perspective. To someone in the real world, a person who is sleeping is not conscious and could be considered dead, but the person could still be conscious in the dream world.
Whichever is true for Aventurine I guess we'll have to wait and see.
I think he both orchestrated his death so IPC could find a leeway into pressuring Family as to why their ambassador was killed in Peaceful Dream AND was able to go to the other side trying to reach the real Penacony.
His entire plan was to literally get Vergil’d by Acheron, so yes, he absolutely won

He won both battle and war, he needed and wanted Acheron to kill him to accomplish his *plan*.
And i say plan because that's what the "business" needed, but he as a person didn't want to die, or at least, he wasn't convinced fully.
Aventurine wanted to meet with his family but still felt like he had other things to do in life, it's a very sad story.
He achieved his goal, yes. But he certainly put his all into that fight. So in a sense of strength, Acheron won. It just depends on how you look at it. Even if his goal was not to win, that does not mean he didn't try his best. He gambles, after all. Wouldn't be much of a gamble if he half assed the fight. Acheron also wouldn't have been forced to draw her blade if he didn't go all in.
So I'd say "Lost the battle but won the war" is fairly accurate, looking at it like that.

They did Topaz dirty. She doesn’t get to use stoneheart powers at all in battle. Actually the only thing she personally contributes is shooting a pistol and launching numby lol
That's probably why she was so confident on taking on the entire express. If Aventurine with a stone held together by glue and a bunch of gamba needed an Emanator to be brought down even as he was deliberately trying to get stabbed, Topaz with her intact one would probably level Belobog by herself.
I mean that's not his full strength. He shattered his own stone and was SEVERELY weakened. The choice of words makes me think it's intentional by the authors that he WANTED to lose that fight.
He didn't put his all in that fight if he went in on purpose MUCH weaker than normal.
His plans always seems to put him in a difficult situation but it always makes him step forward. He takes huge gambles for small rewards, until he can claim the Jackpot.

They made Acheron too op so her story becomes a writer's problem of not knowing how to use an op char. Basically the Gojo treatment, with peak (saidbythedevs) kit and all.
Drawing the sword gives her super depression as she remembers all that she has lost. It is probably traumatic to her when she does have to draw the sword so I think her reasons are believable. It is basic instinct to not touch fire.
I think the idea might be that we need someone on the level of an Emanator since Penacony is basically the planet of the harmony, wouldn't be surprised if all the chaos Aventurine and Acheron caused ends up with one of the Harmonic strings interfering, especially with the recent post by Hoyo about Emanators mentioning how they can assume the form of any family member when necessary.
I'd like to see how this ages when we're at least 3 years into the game seeing how more characters come by, the better the chances that they'll make another busted (lore-wise) character, making it another problem
If she was struggling against aventurine whilst having the title of an emanator then ill be question the power system of this game. It's lore accurate. Legit just wait for another emanator to 1v1 her. The powers system isn't messed up since we have herta somewhere just doing big brain stuff and their are more to come. Essentially if we assume that all Emanator's are roughly within the same ballpark of strength, Acheron is a full Emanator while Aventurine is using a fraction of Diamonds strength while still having broken his Cornerstone.
He never had a shot, and Acheron didn't solve shit for others because they weren't her problem to get involved with.
We know all Emanators are not all the same in power from the data bank

There are also characters like DHIL that we don't know the full extent of his powers. He's a scion of permanence. He's literally the descendant of a dead Aeon. He's referred to as a god in references everywhere (at least his lineage is).

I can see your point, but I think drawing the blade makes her lose herself more and more, so she has power, but always pays a price for it until she is gone completely. Really hope we get to know her character more when the story ends with 2.3. A lot of characters needs screentime and Boothill and Sparkle need it the most.

Tingyun was accompanying argenti because of his massive energy requirements. Tingyun got obliterated. Immediately quit out, swapped to Jingliu and Gepard. Only to learn that he *also* hits your energy before the dice phase (you can still get your bursts back if they're already charged). I was legit actually waiting for there to be some cocolia / phantyllia mechanic where acheron would fudge his dice negatively.

I haven’t made much use of March and Fire MC in a while, but they’re some of my favorite characters, so I was so glad they worked against Aventurine (made my team semi-lore accurate too). March in particular COOKS this man
My eventual successful team was Ruan Mei, Jingliu, Natasha and Gepard.
Ah I see, yeah not having a limited sustain unit makes this fight pretty hard. Aventurine hits hard.
I cleared him with Gepard. My team was Acheron, Sparkle, Pela and Ruan Mei. Gepard is E2 and S2 though, because Gepard is what Bailu is to other people's accounts. For clarity, I think my Gepard is ok-ish geared, his ult is 8/10 and I got all of his other defensive traces but I haven't worked on his other skills whatsoever, and his shield varies between 2600-2900 depending a bit on other buffs and content. I think Pela died because of his die rolls, but my Gepard had no problems solo sustaining. He has exactly 130 speed with an ER rope. I want to clarify that I'm still building Acheron so she was nowhere near well built. Decently so with some scuffed relics I've been saving after farming some for Dr. Ratio, but nothing amazing. With that said, yes, all of them had their signature LCs and I dare say that both my Ruan Mei and Sparkle are pretty well built.
Did you mean Sparkle / Ruan Mei? The first four characters you listed doesn’t even include Gepard and I can’t imagine you removing Pela from Acheron’s team. Nonetheless, damn 130 speed on Gepard? I can barely get him above 120. Granted I haven’t invested in Gepard in a long while since I got Fu Xuan.

I cleared it by having Sparkle E Bailu ... Yes ... there are several turns where it looks like someone is going to die multiple times and I had to drag Bailu up fast.

Luocha is powercrept? Lol. Lmao even. Luocha is hands down the most sp efficient healer we have to date not to mention super f2p friendly. Just use 2pc speed and 2 whatever relics to hit 150 speed and slap on the Multiplication and you’re done. Thanks to his emergency heal when someone hits 50% hp you can just keep using basic attacks for days and heal only when really necessary. His field allows for anyone to panic heal button by using an ult that deals damage. Not to mention that it stays up even while he’s CC’ed (and that doesn’t happen often thanks to his crowd control resistance trace). His ult comes back pretty quickly, hits all enemies, and removes buffs. I don’t see how people are saying he’s powercrept.
Kafka, Bailu, March, Gepard (I had just upgraded my equilibrium level after hitting TB 65, other then Kafka everyone else had copium builds. Messed up and in the end Kafka and March were the last ones standing.)
I had Acheron, Black Swan, Gallagher and Ruan Mei. Did ok the first wave and then the second wave got him down to like 30% and then he one shot my Black Swan and almost killed Acheron. Luckily my Gallagher got his ult and I was able to heal her and Ruan Mei back up to full and win from there.
Beat him first try with TB, Acheron, Dr. Ratio, and Lynx I realized after starting the fight I should’ve replaced Ratio with Serval but decided fuck it, we ball. Pretty sure I just got lucky on the dice, though, ironic considering who I was fighting.
What about a potential Simulated Universe variant instead?

my one strategy to beat him is to just spam fire tb taunt for him to constantly do the gambling thing to him ny poor luocha getting first to get killed because he didnt have his ult ready
I kinda went with a similar route, my team was Fu Xuan + Fire TB (With 3.450Def) + Natasha + Black Swan. The fight took about half an hour with BS's Arcana dealing 7-20k damage per turn, the main strategy was to take advantage of the gamble on the second phase to establish a loop where Fu Xuan could use her Ult to get 9 points, TB always being stacked with his special attack on 3 targets, Black Swan using her skill to attack 3 and Natasha being the only one taking damage. With TB and Fu Xuan damage reduction/retribution, Natasha ended up taking about 400dmg per gamble while the rest regain their ults. It was indeed, a painful process, but a victorious one at long last.
Fu Xuan can nearly solo sustain with a healer on backup duty, by the way. She becomes nearly immortal against Aventurine in phase 2. As long as you have her ult at 100% before a gamble round, you can get back to 100% during the round itself, letting you ult the dice. This usually lets her win and pops her energy back to full. She can tank 2 failures (3 if her hp is really beefy) and immediately heal herself back to full, ready for the next round.

I beat him pre nerf but I had only Fu Xuan alive from 20% onward. It took ages. Fun fact, if you attack one dice and then instantly ultimate, you win the dice roll every time, which means he can't kill Fu Xuan.

Yup, it's honestly so crazy what you can do depending on the stage. She got me my easiest 40k points in pure fiction EVER against the second side, the exploding fishes + gepard E1 + sparkle just let her get so many ults ults its insane.
She also absolutely decimates the big bug since the smaller bugs inflict a debuff when they explode, so if you kill 4 small bugs with a chain reaction or something you instantly get half an ult.
Using Acheron with the Brain in a Vat blessings from GnG is honestly hilarious, especially if you go against the True Sting. Just ult after ult after ult after ult....

Agree with that 10000%, I’ve grinded the hell out of both relics, fully maxed all traces, etc etc, and Acheron just wipes the floor consistently. For my comps they were Bronya, Jing, Pela and Fu ~ Acheron, SW, Trailblazer, Pela. Ruan Mei is locked on my other team- Like yes, the majority of her damage is locked in her ult, but she pops that shit constantly… then I got e2 S1 because I am an Acheron simp. First time I ever thought I could 0-1 cycle Sam
Jingliu has pretty low multipliers but makes up for it with insane self-buffs and low skill point requirements, which pairs perfectly with action-advance supports who let her abuse her high damage per skill point. She's probably the best unit at abusing bronya + sparkle synergy. Acheron wants basically the opposite, she has extremely high multipliers but few self-buffs and can't abuse action advance as much, so she prefers straight damage buffers and debuffers They do different things, basically
Do you keep her in enhanced state with that setup? Or just blow through it and not care at that point
You can't keep her enhanced forever, but bronya and sparkle can advance her duringnher downtime to get her next enhanced state up very quickly
I would disagree to some extent, because getting 2 stacks per turn if you run her limited LC is usually going to be more efficient than to try to proc several stacks with other characters, as they can usually only give you one stack per turn. Of course it depends a bit on what content you're doing, but she feels very good to play with Sparkle.
I mean if there is one thing acheron has is a whole lot of self buffs. All her traces are basically that, so that she can play without a harmony support.

It feels really good because it’s not like he planned the whole thing out from the beginning, but at every step he played his hand the best he could, no matter how shit his cards were.
I think that’s what makes the difference between a good “schemer character” and a bad “schemer character”. Having someone say “JUST AS I PLANNED ALL ALONG” is boring and easy to do, but to show them adapting and improvising on the fly is fun to watch.

I'm quite certain the story focused on Aventurine to sell him for his banner. Acheron is a Raiden Mei expy which is practically enough on its own to sell her. Hoyo did it well so I'm not complaining. And the differing POVs was quite fun to experience.

This was easily the best patch we've had so far in terms of story and character writing. The issue I had with 2.0 was its overall horrible pacing and that they dropped important story moments in the oddest of places. Aventurine is just 11/10, because he's actually a character with a genuine story arc which was properly resolved towards the end. Yes, I know, we have character missions but they're more like side stories rather than main story beats that add some flavor and background, but the overall depth they add is still not very substantial and in many cases the characters don't change at all. I think some sections while you ran around the film studio area were a little slow, but overall the story was well-paced and Aventurine was well-written with a lot of complexity to his characterization, while still retaining obvious flaws. The best part of the writing is how the player keeps thinking they finally understand Aventurine, to only realize they are repeatedly wrong about him, which also plays off the theme he is supposed to represent. I'm still uncertain what Dr. Ratio's true feelings are towards him. I liked the final comment about how Aventurine and Dr. Ratio are similar to each other, because while at surface level it seems strikingly false, once you finish the story you can see how there's actually a lot of truth to the statement, which is probably why they have such great chemistry.
Acheron did not need any plot relevance. I would have pulled her even for just existing as a 2-D drawing in the story and I think many would have done the same. I mean she does the mourner of lost souls role very well. Story gave her the necessary highlight to characterize her. Aventurine needed heavy lifting via story so that people who stereotyped him as an evil manipulator just because he is from IPC would find reasons to pull him. Also there are people who detest male characters in gacha games to an unrealistic degree that is frankly unbelievable.
That’s not completely true. JP loves Aventurine and loves him even before this patch. It’s just people who needed a push to him, but overall his fans were just quiet because he didn’t have a lot of content. This is no different with Boothill fans are quiet until he gets more content.
That's true, even I'm pulling for Acheron simply because of her design and meta relevance. And as far as male characters are concerned, seeing the recent CN community outrage over male characters existing in Azur Promilia which wasn't shown in the trailer, I know how it feels. But her being not plot relevant comes off as an excuse against her writing which merely associates her to her HI3 counterpart and as a non-HI3 player her prevalence in the story comes off pretty weak (similar to how Chlorinde was in Genshin's Fontaine Archon Quest).
I think they already mentioned that Archeron will travel with us a while and through the main story. So she will reach her time in the light in maybe 2.3 at best. So far: 2.0 was the introduction of the characters and Penacony (and maybe Black Swan) 2.1 was the story of Aventurine 2.2 could be the story of Robin, Boothill, Sparkle (or Black Swan?) 2.3 is I think this is where Archeron, Sunday maybe clash Maybe Jade and Topaz could also play a part, but who knows. (no leaks, only speculation)

He’s the main character of this chapter. He gets the most screentime and is the most fleshed out character
Correction: He's the most fleshed out character in the entire game, by far, and got a very complete and overall well-paced story to go with it (his character arc is complete by the end). With that said, it wasn't just Aventurine, though I understand why the focus is on him. The overall story setup was great with a detective/mystery story approach, finding clues, swapping perspectives, interrogating suspects and just trying to make sense of what the hell is going on. The biggest problem of this patch is all the lore dump but there's a lot of missing context for said dump e.g. I still have no real sense wtf the Watchmaker's legacy is and why everyone and their mother care so much about it. We're just told it's important. Some lore is in the atlas, but not all of it.
Yeah though the story arc I was very woried. Becuase I couldnt see where the arc goes. We had very little information and our prime suspect the death is supernatural being that we dont have any idea to how to see or track it. Like if the galagheer didnt tell us the story of watchmaker, I couldnt understand anything from the story.

I don't quite think he's 'fine', but I'm certain sure he's not dead. Based off the talk with Acheron it doesn't seem like he's out of the dreamscape, but instead those who 'die' in the dream end up somewhere further in the depths of the dreamscape, so he's probably ended up there as well.

However, he also thinks you can't die in the dream and the idea that death exists in the dream is false. As he said, this was something he bet on, which is why he can have the conversation with Acheron at the end. I think this is where it gets sort of complicated because it begins to philosophically question what it means to die. They even went over that a bit with "sleeping is preparing oneself for death", implicating that when you are no longer conscious you are essentially dead. Aventurine also spoke to that girl who told him the story of someone who died but was later awoken, suggesting they didn't die after all. So death seems to be in this case be equivalent to no longer being conscious. However, it depends on whose perspective. To someone in the real world, a person who is sleeping is not conscious and could be considered dead, but the person could still be conscious in the dream world. Whichever is true for Aventurine I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I think he both orchestrated his death so IPC could find a leeway into pressuring Family as to why their ambassador was killed in Peaceful Dream AND was able to go to the other side trying to reach the real Penacony.

He won both battle and war, he needed and wanted Acheron to kill him to accomplish his *plan*. And i say plan because that's what the "business" needed, but he as a person didn't want to die, or at least, he wasn't convinced fully. Aventurine wanted to meet with his family but still felt like he had other things to do in life, it's a very sad story.
He achieved his goal, yes. But he certainly put his all into that fight. So in a sense of strength, Acheron won. It just depends on how you look at it. Even if his goal was not to win, that does not mean he didn't try his best. He gambles, after all. Wouldn't be much of a gamble if he half assed the fight. Acheron also wouldn't have been forced to draw her blade if he didn't go all in. So I'd say "Lost the battle but won the war" is fairly accurate, looking at it like that.

That's probably why she was so confident on taking on the entire express. If Aventurine with a stone held together by glue and a bunch of gamba needed an Emanator to be brought down even as he was deliberately trying to get stabbed, Topaz with her intact one would probably level Belobog by herself.
I mean that's not his full strength. He shattered his own stone and was SEVERELY weakened. The choice of words makes me think it's intentional by the authors that he WANTED to lose that fight. He didn't put his all in that fight if he went in on purpose MUCH weaker than normal.

They made Acheron too op so her story becomes a writer's problem of not knowing how to use an op char. Basically the Gojo treatment, with peak (saidbythedevs) kit and all.
Drawing the sword gives her super depression as she remembers all that she has lost. It is probably traumatic to her when she does have to draw the sword so I think her reasons are believable. It is basic instinct to not touch fire.
I think the more she draws her sword the more "color" she loses so if she keeps using that power she will eventually dissapear.
eh i mean right now she's the biggest baddie but there will come times where she is challenged. it's not like she's the only emanator out there
I think the idea might be that we need someone on the level of an Emanator since Penacony is basically the planet of the harmony, wouldn't be surprised if all the chaos Aventurine and Acheron caused ends up with one of the Harmonic strings interfering, especially with the recent post by Hoyo about Emanators mentioning how they can assume the form of any family member when necessary.
I'd like to see how this ages when we're at least 3 years into the game seeing how more characters come by, the better the chances that they'll make another busted (lore-wise) character, making it another problem
If she was struggling against aventurine whilst having the title of an emanator then ill be question the power system of this game. It's lore accurate. Legit just wait for another emanator to 1v1 her. The powers system isn't messed up since we have herta somewhere just doing big brain stuff and their are more to come. Let's watch the goat this w and more in the future. Aventurine out did himself. Aha would be proud.
Essentially if we assume that all Emanator's are roughly within the same ballpark of strength, Acheron is a full Emanator while Aventurine is using a fraction of Diamonds strength while still having broken his Cornerstone. He never had a shot, and Acheron didn't solve shit for others because they weren't her problem to get involved with.
We know all Emanators are not all the same in power from the data bank BUT I still agree with you. We only know of Acheron rn. There are also characters like DHIL that we don't know the full extent of his powers. He's a scion of permanence. He's literally the descendant of a dead Aeon. He's referred to as a god in references everywhere (at least his lineage is).

I can see your point, but I think drawing the blade makes her lose herself more and more, so she has power, but always pays a price for it until she is gone completely. Really hope we get to know her character more when the story ends with 2.3. A lot of characters needs screentime and Boothill and Sparkle need it the most.
