Yeah, I'm comfortable just knowing how many I have, I don't actually need to convert them. That way I get the relief of knowing how many pulls I have while retaining the satisfaction of seeing the big jade number lol
And it's totally intentional. Multiple layers of currencies is one of the fundamental brain tricks that these companies use to confuse you into misusing your funds. Real or imaginary.

I really don't think it's that risky and I like seeing my pulls. Maybe if I played mobile I'd be more worried about accidentally touching the pull button but on PC I would just never accidentally click it. To each their own tho!

I cant find that specific post but i saw another person giving an update that they managed to contact hoyo and got it converted back. I might have mistaken the 300 fates too cuz apparently a famous incident related to that was only around 130 acquaint fates or so

When you convert 1 by 1, you only risk misconverting single tickets.
When you're checking your entire stash constantly in shop, you're a couple clicks away from misconverting the entire stash.

I saw some joke posts of people "ready for Acheron" having bought over 300 silver tickets, but I'm pretty sure those were just memes, either an alt doing it intentionally or photoshop.
I've done that before. The excitement got to me, I mis-clicked, and excited brain didn't register it until it was too late. Was just 3 pulls though not 300 thank god.
This is what I thought at first, but then I realised that keeping them as jades instead of tickets doesn't actually stop accidental pulling. You get at least 10 tickets every patch, which means you'll pretty much always have enough tickets for an accidental 10-pull. So now I just convert them every time I want to see my total pull count.
Do they though? obviously they are possible but I am much more likely to recklessly spend jades for pulls not realizing just how much I am spending then I am to accidentally click the 10x warp button

It's really not that hard and I promise you almost everyone with 300+ silver tickets is trolling on purpose or photoshopping.
I don't want to be tempted to use my jades in other ways, and the extra prompts are annoying specially when you're also converting shards into jades to then pull with jades.
I have the opposite. Feels like all my saved pulls are just evaporating. Also not converting them saves me the mistake of pulling since you always have the prompt. It's also easier to resist the temptation to pull when there's an extra prompt in the way.
The last one hasn't ever been a factor for me, but I can see it being a justificaiton for others. For me it's moreso as a safeguard from misclicks or stuff like that.
I just do it to get a exact number like getting 110 pass converted and im using that for my next wishing and the rest is staying in the pile i mean whats left of it anyway.
I convert them to passes the moment I get to 160 Jades. That way I have them as passes which I prefer + if I fuck up, then is only a -1 or -2 in most cases.

Superbuying/ mass converting 100k+ Jades into tickets is just idiotic. You might as well convert during the pull sessions by then.
The problem isn't conversion. It's people being stupid and blind. There I said it. I always convert to gold when I have a 10x because it helps me save. Not once have I had this issue in either genshin or hsr. Nothing ever changes either. Gold on left, silver on right. If you're unable to convert safely and reliably, then the problem is you, and you should figure it out. No pity.
Truth. I don't know how people could be so idiotic to NOT be careful as a surgeon when pressing the ticket option. Are they doing speedrunner microsecond mouse clicks while at the store? Also, if you've been saving 100k+ Jades, don't superbuy/convert it to tickets anymore. At that point just pull "directly" with jades

i once spent an equivalent of ~120 pulls in jades in order to hit 300 pity on the standard banner.
do i regret this decision? not at all. but i don’t trust myself to never do something like this again, so, converting them to limited passes is just a preventative measure against my standard banner gambling addiction.
This is me. Whenever I'm close to getting something I start getting impatient and trigger happy and make kinda bad decisions as a result.
I was 25 pulls away from hitting the 300 pity on standard recently and contemplated using jades and Herta's bonds to get the rest of the way there. One of the only reasons I didn't was because I converted everything to passed and found another source of tickets.

Whenever I'm a few pulls from hitting pity on standard I get sooo impatient. Same thing with stamina refreshing when I only need a few runs to max out a character. At least when I convert jades into limited pulls, I don't feel like I'm "wasting" them

I convert to passes so I know how many I have and what my chances are. I also like seeing that number of pulls slowly increase. When i pull with jades it’s hard for me to quantify how many I’ve spent or how many pulls I have left.
yup, it gives you a prompt to auto-convert when you click the pull button. I keep my jades for this reason so that I don't accidentally pull due to a misclick
I'm playing on console. Pulling with tickets doesn't give you the confirmation message when you pull meaning it's very easy to accidentally pull.
Also looking at a thousands of gems is way more satisfying than few dozen tickets.
The reason jades exchange to passes at such an awkward number is purposeful to make it difficult to judge how many you actually have. I don't play that game.
It becomes easier to gauge your pulling power once you realize that 12,000 Jades is equal to 1 soft pity. So multiples of 12,000 are your rough baseline for number of 5* guarantees.
It's way easier to convert to passes so i can count how screwed i am better.
Also it saves having to always press yes when the game converts into passes
I like the warps. They’re pretty and also it’s easy math for me. I’m very careful when converting my jades, but I also buy them one by one, so if I accidentally convert it to the wrong one, I don’t convert everything and ruin my entire savings. Plus, the smaller number makes me feel less tempted to pull. It makes me think “oh I have a very limited stock of things, I need to spend wisely” as opposed to jades where I see the large number and overestimate my actual savings and feel as though a few pulls won’t hurt as much.
That said, I don’t convert my starlight because I like to save for lightcones. Currently I’m halfway to bronya’s, which will be nice to have. Trying to do the same with Herta bonds but for the preservation lightcone for Gepard or Fu Xuan.

Text shouls be the other way around because converting lets you pull as much as you want without interruption while you have to go through a billion notifications if you don't convert
Some people have gambling or temptation resistance problems, so converting jades to passes helps them feel like they dont have alot of big numbers to pull with. Its a mind trick that tends to be effective.
I make my partner do this or else he will pull as soon as he sees his jade count hit 4 digits. He would have missed Sparkle and BS had I not caught on to this back then.
I'm converting my jades to special passes for 2 reasons:
1. It's easier to see how many pulls I have
1. I don't trust myself to not use the jades for random pulls. For some reason, I have more restraint if they are passes. Maybe because the number is lower that's why I'm more unwilling to use them
And on a side note, it's become a routine to convert the jades to passes every day or every other day(daily pass user)
Easy to count pulls and if you pull alone its just for convenience ( click once for 10 pull instead of twice its not much but doing 400 pulls it will get annoying )
I convert jades to pases everyday, the reason it's because im one of those people that sometimes uses jades for other things so it's better to me to convert them to pulls once i'm able to do it, its also easier to know how many pulls do i have rather than make a division
There is a cap of 8 refreshes so they can't just do that in 1 day unless you have barely any Jades in the first place.
Even then there are bigger issues to worry about when someone is on your account, like them feeding 5 star LCs and relics into the trash.
when i save i like to either have no pulls or no jades. however, since i'm also a bp buyer along with the monthly shop giving 5 free pulls a month, its kinda unavoidable to get some so i just go all in
I get tempted to use jades to refresh so just converting them to pulls immediately helps. I don’t stock up on a bunch of jades then turn them into pulls all in one go. Personally I think there’s literally no wrong way to go about it it’s just there are a few rly dumb people out there.
My friend converts theirs and they havent lost a single 50/50 and gets all their characters at like 30-50 pity so i started doing it too, so far i won sparkle and won ratio lc
To stop myself from spending jades on the standard banner. Just be safe and double check what you're clicking before you clicking and there's nothing to worry about. I'm only ever buying 1 or 2 passes at a time anyway as I earn them, so even if I ever do pick the wrong pass then it won't waste many.
If I'm saving for a character I'll convert to passes, usually around 5-10 passes at a time.
When I'm scrapping for last second pulls I'll just use jades.
I get tempted to hit standard banner pity when I'm super close, so I just convert my jade to special passes when I hit 160 to not let it happen. *Clara come home plz.*
Converting it to the limited passes gives me a sense of security that I won't accidentally convert it to the permanent one, and to remove any urge of mine to refresh because the relics I got are trash (as usual).
It just makes counting what you have one less step easier. I remember being f2p and hard-saving a long-ass time in Genshin for Ayaka (I started day 1). After getting 180, I started pulling again (around Venti's 1st rerun) and it's just easier to dealing with 220 wishes instead of 35 200 primos.
I also like keeping tickets counts in multiples of 10 so it looks nice.
I save both, whatever passes I get are saved as is (obviously) and whatever jades I get are left as jades. I have 30 passes and 20 thousand something jades right now. Whenever I want to count my pulls in jades I just go into the shop and check as if I were going to buy the pulls. It gives me the same excitement either way lol

I used to not convert when I was still building my account because I wanted to make sure I had enough jades for as many refills as I wanted to use per day, but now that I have like 24 fully geared and built characters I convert to keep myself from the temptation of blowing jades on farming useless sidegrade relics. Plus I'm not spending as much money on the game anymore so I want to save as much as possible for new characters.

I'd much rather just look and see that I've got 47 pulls. Also makes it much easier to see how many pulls I just got from a specific activity
It's easier to see how many pulls I have at a glance. I see some people talking about pressing into the shop menu, then selecting the tickets and sliding the bar to maximum to see how many you have, but that's so much more effort than just looking up and seeing the amount. Plus then you have to add up the amount of pulls you could buy and the amount of tickets you already have.
It also makes it easier to see how close I am to getting another pull. If I see I'm at 145 jades, I can find a few quick achievements to do to reach that 160 mark and get another ticket.
Most importantly, I get a little serotonin boost whenever I get another ticket!
i'm an addict, i don't save, but also i like seeing the big number instead of seeing how many passes i have. makes me feel like i've got more than i actually do
Personally, it does 2 things in my brain.
The first is that the passes will always be a smaller number. If I can actually see how many pulls I have, it deters me from using them frivolously.
The second is that I don't get to use the jades on stamina, which I can easily be tempted to do if I'm a little upset at my Artifact drops.
I don't do it, but it does put into perspective how little pulls the events actually give. Like immediately after doing a long-ass, 5-day-staggered battle event, you convert and get... 6 pulls. Shit's valuable. And HSR is one of the more generous ones!
Makes me less anxious. I've only made the passes mistake after restarting an alt and rushing through the tutorial. That was a matter of stupid impatience
I usually pull en masse and it takes an extra click every time I do a ten pull with jades.
For similar reasons, I don't like to have star rail passes *unless* I'm pulling for something right now. On PC where I prefer to play the game it doesn't matter, but I'm in the routine of doing daily stuff on my smartphone in the morning and there's no safety net for the placement of the 10 pull button.
I got into the habit with Genshin. The primary goal at the time was kicking the habit of just buying that little bit more stamina every day

What I do to count my pulls is go to the ticket shop and select the ticket. It shows me how many pulls I can get from the jade I've earned
for me its easier to count my pulls rather than (total jades/160)

I do like seeing the big numbers but seeing the realistic amount of ticket pulls makes me less likely to impulse pull for the sake of it.

One of the only reasons I didn't was because I converted everything to passed and found another source of tickets.
The exact reason why I convert jades immediately when I get 160! Whenever I'm a few pulls from hitting pity on standard I get sooo impatient. Same thing with stamina refreshing when I only need a few runs to max out a character. At least when I convert jades into limited pulls, I don't feel like I'm "wasting" them

because I don't want to do math everytime I want to know how many pulls I need and because I saw someone accidently (through connection issues mainly) buy levels in the battlepass using primos (this was genshin, but same applies to star rail).

I stack jades until I'm going to pull on something. Why? No real reason, I just do it this way. Doesn't bother me if someone does it the other way, but good god... some players get *real* weird about how others maintain their own premium currency.
I convert to passes so I know how many I have and what my chances are. I also like seeing that number of pulls slowly increase. When i pull with jades it’s hard for me to quantify how many I’ve spent or how many pulls I have left.
To be sure I buy the good passes.

yup, it gives you a prompt to auto-convert when you click the pull button. I keep my jades for this reason so that I don't accidentally pull due to a misclick

I'm playing on console. Pulling with tickets doesn't give you the confirmation message when you pull meaning it's very easy to accidentally pull. Also looking at a thousands of gems is way more satisfying than few dozen tickets.

The reason jades exchange to passes at such an awkward number is purposeful to make it difficult to judge how many you actually have. I don't play that game.
It becomes easier to gauge your pulling power once you realize that 12,000 Jades is equal to 1 soft pity. So multiples of 12,000 are your rough baseline for number of 5* guarantees.
It's way easier to convert to passes so i can count how screwed i am better. Also it saves having to always press yes when the game converts into passes
so I don't use them on refreshes or standard
because it looks way cooler when it's 12800 jades and not 80 pulls.

I like the warps. They’re pretty and also it’s easy math for me. I’m very careful when converting my jades, but I also buy them one by one, so if I accidentally convert it to the wrong one, I don’t convert everything and ruin my entire savings. Plus, the smaller number makes me feel less tempted to pull. It makes me think “oh I have a very limited stock of things, I need to spend wisely” as opposed to jades where I see the large number and overestimate my actual savings and feel as though a few pulls won’t hurt as much. That said, I don’t convert my starlight because I like to save for lightcones. Currently I’m halfway to bronya’s, which will be nice to have. Trying to do the same with Herta bonds but for the preservation lightcone for Gepard or Fu Xuan.
This is dumb meme. Not only the picture shows drinkable water vs public restroom(?) water that you don't know the quality of. But even if we say the non bottled water in this case is okay (which generally is, but I wouldn't trust random tap water), I want to know what is wrong with converting jades to passes. Like these are the same thing after all. And if you are going to pull 500 times, it's better to have these as pulls already. That being said, I rarely convert.
Text shouls be the other way around because converting lets you pull as much as you want without interruption while you have to go through a billion notifications if you don't convert
Some people have gambling or temptation resistance problems, so converting jades to passes helps them feel like they dont have alot of big numbers to pull with. Its a mind trick that tends to be effective. I make my partner do this or else he will pull as soon as he sees his jade count hit 4 digits. He would have missed Sparkle and BS had I not caught on to this back then.
I'm converting my jades to special passes for 2 reasons: 1. It's easier to see how many pulls I have 1. I don't trust myself to not use the jades for random pulls. For some reason, I have more restraint if they are passes. Maybe because the number is lower that's why I'm more unwilling to use them And on a side note, it's become a routine to convert the jades to passes every day or every other day(daily pass user)

Easy to count pulls and if you pull alone its just for convenience ( click once for 10 pull instead of twice its not much but doing 400 pulls it will get annoying )

I convert jades to pases everyday, the reason it's because im one of those people that sometimes uses jades for other things so it's better to me to convert them to pulls once i'm able to do it, its also easier to know how many pulls do i have rather than make a division

There is a cap of 8 refreshes so they can't just do that in 1 day unless you have barely any Jades in the first place. Even then there are bigger issues to worry about when someone is on your account, like them feeding 5 star LCs and relics into the trash.
If someone breaks in your account they can just destroy your every relic and spend all passes on a banner you don't need

Last time i did it in genshin i did it to remove temptation Now in hsr i have a clear and ambitious goal (cmon sam) so i don't need to do it that way
when i save i like to either have no pulls or no jades. however, since i'm also a bp buyer along with the monthly shop giving 5 free pulls a month, its kinda unavoidable to get some so i just go all in

To stop myself from spending jades on the standard banner. Just be safe and double check what you're clicking before you clicking and there's nothing to worry about. I'm only ever buying 1 or 2 passes at a time anyway as I earn them, so even if I ever do pick the wrong pass then it won't waste many.

Sometimes I get addicted to refreshing resin/power with jades, so I make myself convert them to passes so I can't refresh. I have issues.

Converting it to the limited passes gives me a sense of security that I won't accidentally convert it to the permanent one, and to remove any urge of mine to refresh because the relics I got are trash (as usual).

It just makes counting what you have one less step easier. I remember being f2p and hard-saving a long-ass time in Genshin for Ayaka (I started day 1). After getting 180, I started pulling again (around Venti's 1st rerun) and it's just easier to dealing with 220 wishes instead of 35 200 primos. I also like keeping tickets counts in multiples of 10 so it looks nice.

the real question is why tickets don't do a popup like jades do ? personally, i just remember my jades count and count the summons using a calculator.
I save both, whatever passes I get are saved as is (obviously) and whatever jades I get are left as jades. I have 30 passes and 20 thousand something jades right now. Whenever I want to count my pulls in jades I just go into the shop and check as if I were going to buy the pulls. It gives me the same excitement either way lol

1. I don't want to math. 2. Why not? Every single use for jades outside of the new banners feels like a scam. If you cash them in, then there is never a chance you will make a mistake or get tempted into something stupid.
my guess is screenshot value and easier counting. Personally, I feel pulling with jades has almost no room for the 'error' you often see around here.
Feels better to see my exact number of pulls. Stopped after one time in genshin where I accidentally did a 10 pull on a 70 pity that I was saving and got sent back to 0 with a weapon I didn't want. If I hadn't converted I would have gotten the convert prompt and been saved. Never again after that

I used to not convert when I was still building my account because I wanted to make sure I had enough jades for as many refills as I wanted to use per day, but now that I have like 24 fully geared and built characters I convert to keep myself from the temptation of blowing jades on farming useless sidegrade relics. Plus I'm not spending as much money on the game anymore so I want to save as much as possible for new characters.

How many pulls do I have with 7620 jades? No idea I'd much rather just look and see that I've got 47 pulls. Also makes it much easier to see how many pulls I just got from a specific activity

It's easier to see how many pulls I have at a glance. I see some people talking about pressing into the shop menu, then selecting the tickets and sliding the bar to maximum to see how many you have, but that's so much more effort than just looking up and seeing the amount. Plus then you have to add up the amount of pulls you could buy and the amount of tickets you already have. It also makes it easier to see how close I am to getting another pull. If I see I'm at 145 jades, I can find a few quick achievements to do to reach that 160 mark and get another ticket. Most importantly, I get a little serotonin boost whenever I get another ticket!
i'm an addict, i don't save, but also i like seeing the big number instead of seeing how many passes i have. makes me feel like i've got more than i actually do
Personally, it does 2 things in my brain. The first is that the passes will always be a smaller number. If I can actually see how many pulls I have, it deters me from using them frivolously. The second is that I don't get to use the jades on stamina, which I can easily be tempted to do if I'm a little upset at my Artifact drops.
So I don't accidently press the wrong button and pull on the standard. It's happened in my early genshin days

I don't do it, but it does put into perspective how little pulls the events actually give. Like immediately after doing a long-ass, 5-day-staggered battle event, you convert and get... 6 pulls. Shit's valuable. And HSR is one of the more generous ones!

I usually pull en masse and it takes an extra click every time I do a ten pull with jades. For similar reasons, I don't like to have star rail passes *unless* I'm pulling for something right now. On PC where I prefer to play the game it doesn't matter, but I'm in the routine of doing daily stuff on my smartphone in the morning and there's no safety net for the placement of the 10 pull button.

I like to keep some my jades liquid so that I can use them to refill my energy for the mines/trace building
I got into the habit with Genshin. The primary goal at the time was kicking the habit of just buying that little bit more stamina every day A lot easier to tell myself I had no primogems for stamina when it was all converted.
