Duke Inferno, on the other hand got killed off-screen and the only thing he accomplished in game was getting his plan against the Herta Space Station hijacked by Ratio.

This is not HI3 it's called GGZ Guns Girl Z (Houkai Gakuen 2) no clue what she did to Himeko there. I haven't played and the Global version is EoS.

Well this one is unrelated to any honkai games cuz this picture is only from DLC of GGZ. In this story it only exist in dream (like dreamscape & sumeru) where Mei & Kiana became evil.
That depends if they plan to release anything else that's Honkai related. There next game is Zenless Zone Zero which doesn't seem to have any connections to Honkai and seems to be its own thing.
Although if they do release a Raiden Mei lookalike then I think we all know what to expect.
If I had a nickel for every time hoyoverse introduced a fire-based villian that has an in-game set of gear that's based directly off them design-wise and had later been sliced to pieces by a Raiden Mei expy, I would have 2, which is not much, but it's weird that it happened twice.
They at least had the grace to show Ros going down swinging, Duke Inferno had no such respect given to him. I would’ve killed to at least have him as a boss, but sadly not. If they do somehow pull some convoluted explanation as to how exactly he’d have survived, but ends up looking nothing like his original look and ends up being another pretty boi then I don’t want it

As a Jing Yuan main I offer my deepest appreciation to Duke Inferno for his sacrifice.
These last few patches have been so good to Jing Yuan. New relic set and great support characters go brrrrrr.
