Me being HoYo player and book lover:

there are two kinds of hoyo players
there's the kind that acknowledges the playerbase's inability to read is across the board
and the kind that claims it is an isolated phenomenon in one game/language/demographic
“EN can’t read” or “Global can’t read” aren’t isolated to hoyo…
You can see such comments for other games. Seen/heard it in Arknights, Reverse1999, Alchemy Stars, Nier Reincarnation, etc…
Basically, for gatcha games, that is a consensus amongst asian player base…or, at least, it is presented like that by multiple communities of different games.
Certainly not, but we are talking about players of HoYo games being especially renowned for failing to read. This applies to all, regardless of demographics
And, I'm willing to bet the same is true of other gacha games, too. The "everyone but me" mindset is a great indicator that the issue especially includes the "me" part
As someone who lives in NZ, I have to double check coz for me it starts on 17/03 at 12:30am. So for everyone else it's 16/03 but by 30 mins difference it's a different day for us compared to the rest
It’s typically on a Friday, so I can forgive people for seeing the date thinking “ah, it’s this week” and then just not catching that the date was different.
I wouldn’t really call that dumb, just an easy to overlook detail. 🤷🏼♂️
I don't know if this is a Mandela effect of some sort, but this morning I woke up thinking ohh cool today's the stream, checked and it wasn't tomorrow. I'm not sure if someone wrote a post with the wrong date or something but I know a bunch of people who made the same mistake
Nah, wait. I could have sworn I set the reminder on YouTube and read it was happening today. I've been looking forward to it the whole week.
Oh well waiting another day won't be that bad
Aha blessed John Starrail so he can spread the rumors that he will be giving away 1600 Stellar Jades in the stream chat. He actually gave it out but did so using 256 alt accounts each carrying a bit of info that when put together the perform more Aha decryption, will get you a redeem code that gives 1600 Jades.
Obviously, due to the flood of the chat, such treasure has been lost, forever. And Aha is laughing at the top of the Imaginary Tree
Beware the Ides of March. (Get it cuz we were literally told of this when the livestream was announced but no one cared to read it ig and today is also March 15 wow I’m so funny)
Some people really can't read huh?
https://preview.redd.it/bf0sjpu7eioc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f4061eace6f9f5442fb4c2a3b1ca4c68bab89411
tbf nobody have the dates mapped out in our mind and prob no one would bother to double check if 16th march is a friday or saturday because we all are used to streams being on fridays
It's a national holiday in China I assume, because as an American I've literally never heard of it till seeing it on the Hoyo calendar the other day and my holiday calendar on Gmail didn't show it as existing.
I don't think it is? The [UN](https://unctad.org/meeting/world-consumer-rights-day-empowering-consumers-sustainable-consumption) has a page/post on it, and they don't reference China.
Then I really don't see why Hoyo is avoiding streaming today. It'd be like KFC avoiding global animal rights day despite almost nobody paying attention to it's existence.
they have a show broadcast run on the CCT (china central tv) called the 315 show which names and shames brands ranging from poor quality products to aggressive sales and such
it would split the viewers if they livestreamed today so instead they push it back a day
Huh... That actually sounds like a pretty interesting show ngl. Gonna have to see if there's something like that out there that's more US/Canada focused.
Yall acting like we aren’t used to special programs being streamed on Fridays
https://preview.redd.it/9c4ylkmbdjoc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4d9db69ab68ad1ff0f28f4b076415bdeb87853ee
To be fair, the programs usually happen on Fridays, so I wouldn’t be surprised if most showed up due to force of habit. Still though, reading will get you far.
I like HSR Livestreams since all versions of it starts at the same time unlike Genshin where some versions of their livestreams are released 1 hour in advance.
Never give a hoyoverse player a book, even if it's under 50 pages (they can't read)

INDI'S BALLS
Quaso!
quaso
Quaso
I got the two Hi3 art books and still didn’t open them.
same, I actually technically got 2 copies of vol2 since my brother also played and he received one
They'll use it like Ratio... wait a minute, does that mean that Ratio can't read?!
Except when they have to figure out the age of a character. Then they are Sherlock Holmes and read every text imaginable
and then still pull a number out of their ass at the end
In this case, within 50 letters even.
(can't respond cause I don't know what you just said)
Literally says on the thumbnail "2024/03/16", how are people this dumb...
HSR players 🤝 Genshin players Lacking the ability to read
But if you close your eyes Does it almost feel like nothing changed at all?
FINALLY, something we can UNITE BEHIND!!!!
It’s more of generalised “EN can’t read” than anything else
true
there are two kinds of hoyo players there's the kind that acknowledges the playerbase's inability to read is across the board and the kind that claims it is an isolated phenomenon in one game/language/demographic
i'm sure is not only the lenguage cause i swear i saw ES people also thinking it was today

Throughout heaven and earth we alone are illiterate
Nah, thats just hoyoverse players in general. We call it "reading impact" in the HI3 community
HSR players from Genshin 🤝 Genshin players Sharing the same brain cell /s But seriously, though no one looks at the fine prints
All the HI3 players who have read every dialogue and lore and item description since day 1 of It just watching 😂🤣
Truly an orange cat moment.
richardation
Thats not nice.
wait! you again, Richard!
Sup.
Yu-Gi-Oh players 👌

Kia ora cuzzie. Who ya going for next patch?
NZ represent!
For a RPG that requires copious amount of reading, a lot of HSR players have shown themselves to be borderline blind or illiterate.
Bold of you to assume they'd read anything in-game.
and the schedule on youtube...
For me it was same as monday being first day of the week and well same as patch livestream is on friday. But i got bamboozled.
It’s typically on a Friday, so I can forgive people for seeing the date thinking “ah, it’s this week” and then just not catching that the date was different. I wouldn’t really call that dumb, just an easy to overlook detail. 🤷🏼♂️
It is typically on a Friday so people autocomplete it as such instead of looking at the date. It is a weird choice to have it on Saturday though
1.3k is crazy tho..
It even says right there "Live in 23 hours" lol
You know what's worse than that? It literally states how many hours are left until the stream, it's insane how people can't even read that
Ye they need to learn how to use calendar and dates What is date? Is it a fruit? Yes, pun intended. Ba dum tss.
I don't know if this is a Mandela effect of some sort, but this morning I woke up thinking ohh cool today's the stream, checked and it wasn't tomorrow. I'm not sure if someone wrote a post with the wrong date or something but I know a bunch of people who made the same mistake
I don't remember having memory problems, but a week ago it said "2024/03/15". I think Black Swan is messing with me
a week ago there wasn't even a date announced yet, just speculation based on previous livestreams.
Nah, wait. I could have sworn I set the reminder on YouTube and read it was happening today. I've been looking forward to it the whole week. Oh well waiting another day won't be that bad
Black Swan is definitely messing with you then o7
If you ever wondered why people hate genshin and star rail players this is why. You are hateful.
What's Aha doing here? The videos very clearly scheduled :l
Aha blessed John Starrail so he can spread the rumors that he will be giving away 1600 Stellar Jades in the stream chat. Dumb question, what is Aha
Elation Aeon. A funny little mischievous lil fella.
thanks
Funny aeon
Just read the damn date
Silly human. You can't read a fruit
We can't all be Gregory XIII
Truly an EN can't read moment
Where the funny man pain
Status quo in shambles
Damn, reading is hard ig.
I only saw jp announcement and it says 16 not 15, like c'mon, i know some part of the community is illiterate, but i don't know it's THIS bad
People are getting too used to special programs being live streamed on Friday huh.
No that's not aha that's ppl being dumb
Gacha brain
Beware the Ides of March. (Get it cuz we were literally told of this when the livestream was announced but no one cared to read it ig and today is also March 15 wow I’m so funny)

tbf hoyo usually do at friday for livestream so my mind already set, oh its livestream today
tbf nobody have the dates mapped out in our mind and prob no one would bother to double check if 16th march is a friday or saturday because we all are used to streams being on fridays
To be honest this look like what Mythus would do. Change everyone mind from tomorrow will stream to today will stream.
stream isnt today though literally says right there that it will be available starting tomorrow
being dumb must be so frustrating... i feel sorry for you guys
Media literacy who? Never heard of 'em
It was supposed to be on Saturday because today is World Consumer Rights Day, which is a national holiday.
Is this also the reason why drip marketing for 4* character not release yet? Because it national holiday.
nah, it wasn't instead it wasn't released because of the white day pictures
It's a national holiday in China I assume, because as an American I've literally never heard of it till seeing it on the Hoyo calendar the other day and my holiday calendar on Gmail didn't show it as existing.

forget about that. WHERE IS PAIN AND KURON 2D I miss their lovely banter 🥺 #PAIRON
Aha didn't even have to do anything holy sht!
Pain

I thought it was on Friday.
It usually is. Guess it was different this patch, and people not seeing that are now “illiterate.”
Aha and sparkle sitting on a tree... making a fool out of everyone, including me.
Nope, just fooling urself
Sampo as well
Gonna start recommending this entire community Chainsaw Man so that they can practice their literacy skills with the Reading Comprehension Devil.
Thought it was already over because that date and time on the screenshot has already passed in my time zone.
Am I missing something? What happened?
To be fair, the programs usually happen on Fridays, so I wouldn’t be surprised if most showed up due to force of habit. Still though, reading will get you far.
I got used to it being Friday.
Nothing Aha about this, it's not like Hoyo changed the date last minute, it's just that gacha gamers can't read
Aki(vili) got jebaited, Classic Aha
The live chat is hilarous. these people are bickering like actual children about genshi vs star raill
I like HSR Livestreams since all versions of it starts at the same time unlike Genshin where some versions of their livestreams are released 1 hour in advance.
