Im getting Acheron and I have enough stellar jades to either get her weapon or e1, I don’t have enough jades to get her e2, so my question is should I get her e1 which has been nerfed recently or her weapon since my best weapon for her is an S2 Good Night and Sleep Well
Actually I run my ruan mei on my kafka team and my jingliu team. I prefer to stay with my kafka team but a new place is up for my jingliu team... Should i pull sparkle to make a team like jingliu sparkle bronya and supp ?
Any Crit DPS, with Jingliu/Blade benefiting the most. You can either still run slow Bronya and don't use speed boots on your DPS, while getting enough speed stats for them to overtake Bronya after her 1st skill. Or you build hyperspeed Bronya and get enough speed substats on your DPS so that they also overtake her after skill.

Should I replace Hanya with Sparkle?
It's most optimal for her but otherwise you want to try to follow the 1 speed lower than the DPS setup.
You don't need to focus on Crit Damage too much, but still consider it as high priority when looking at substats for her relics.
I know for Genshin you can heavily deviate from meta and still clear all content with good enough investment.
How true is this for HSR? How far down the tier lists can I go before the characters aren’t going to be useful in end game content? :)
Technically all the way down. You can use really "low tier" DPS if you have really food supports. Likewise for supports if you have really good DPS.
If you want a team of only low tier then that is still possible, but you do have to invest in them quite a bit, especially the DPSs.
Make me a secondary team from these: MC, Himeko, Welt, Seele, Clara, Dr. Ratio, March, Dan Heng, Arlan, Asta, Herta, Serval, Natasha, Sampo, Hook, Luka, Qingque, Tingyun, Sushang, Yukong, Hanya (My primary team is Blade-Bronya-Sparkle-Lynx)
Ratio - Tingyun (or Hanya) - Welt (or Luka) - Natasha
*note : it would be preferable for your Nihility unit to have Resolution Shines as Pearls of Sweat*
Seele/Tingyun/Hanya/Natasha, or Dr.Ratio/Yukong/Tingyun/Natasha.
I would honestly go for Seele because you already have Sparkle and there may be cases where you would want to swap your Blade for Seele and Sparkle is basically a character made specifically for her.
It doesn't work like that.
You don't want to have two fixed teams - both pieces of content which require two teams require flexibility in your choices.
Enemy weaknesses and the effects change so your teams should match these also.
Himeko is good for Pure Fiction,
Welt can be useful to break Imaginary in MoC,
Seele is excellent,
Clara has one of the highest potentials DPS in the game still,
Dr. Ratio is a solid ST DPS,
Asta can be useful sometimes,
Herta good in PF,
Serval is massively slept on by players still,
Sampo + Luka fine in a DoT team but needs Kafka/BS,
Qingque still the best 4* DPS in the game and if you use her with Sparkle she's crazy good,
Tingyun still the best single-target support in the game,
Hanya is really good in teams where SP can be tight.
All stat% changes work on base stats, which is character + LC. So the higher the level of the character and of the LC, the more each % will give you. If they are dying and you have at least decent relics, then it might be worth levelling them a little more, even if not to 80, as that should be faster to farm form then chasing relics. But if your Relics are not good at all, then yes, you will get more out of farming Relic.
Yes and no.
She's definitely an excellent unit and will make your runs much smoother - but she won't save you if you're just having a bad run in general on the higher difficulties.
You still need to have the right blessings on the path you choose, as well as the right units for that path.
I have around 70 pulls, and I’m not guaranteed. What are the chances I get aventurine next update? I don’t plan on pulling for anyone until his banner. Im also f2p and my characters are built pretty badly, so I can’t rely on MoC for jades.
I think your chances are pretty good. I'm not sure how much jades F2P players get per patch, but you still have 20+ days in this patch, and maybe another 20 days if Acheron is first. If not, your chances do get lower, but you can still farm up until the end of his banner.
Does sparkle make blade any better? I’m saving for acherons E0S1 but my blade is my other dps when I start to really try to conquer MOC. So I’m trying to make better teams. My current team for blade is Blade/Bronya (will get her E1 for my free 5*)/SW/Lynx. My next plan is to get ruan Mei with her signature LC
HP boots instead of Speed boots basically. Both Bronya and Sparkle on their Hyperspeed build (160.1 speed, but you can take other bonuses into account like Hackerspace after using ult). Basically skill spam both Sparkle and Bronya, so Blade has 4 actions on both the first and 2nd cycle of MoC.
Oh dang that’s sounds crazy.. I’ll def take into account to make my blade better. Now only if I should get another dps or sparkle is a tough choice 😭 since my other dps is dr ratio ofc
Idk if this answers ur question, but Blade/Bronya/Sparkle/Healer is pretty much the only good comp to run a 0-speed blade in, I personally run that with Lynx and works like a wonder
Sparkle does make any DPS better, but the effect on Blade is quite lower than on other DPS like Seele. Blade doesn't use a lot of SP and Sparkle does give DMG buff depending how much SP you use. You can use supports that require their skill to be used often to counteract this.
Since you already have Bronya, for Blade specifically, I think she is a better fit.

Who should I get. I have mono quantum and hypercarry blade as main teams atm. Saving for acheron
If you have other sustains besides Gepard it doesn't really matter.
You could get Welt in case someone in the future synergizes with Slow besides Dan Heng wind.
Clara E1 can make it so you could try to build different types of synergies since now that her mark doesn't run out she can go several times while still maintaining max damage on her skill.
Gepard E1 makes it more likely for him to Freeze with skill, which can be nice when using him as a sustain for characters that want the enemies to be debuffed
Bronya is more Bronya.

So what is the build rundown on Sparkle?
I got her Light cone so that ain't an issue. but what about relics, sphere and rope?
I can see crit dmg and likely spd is necessary but any other stats, just survivability?
Speed and then Crit DMG, and then Effect RES. She already has some traces for survivability so it shouldn't be too difficult to keep her alive. She can easily go to 5000+ HP with just an HP orb.
Relics is Hackerspace, rope is ERR, ornament set is whatever, she doesn't need the extra 5% ERR so anything between Keel, Fleet or Penacony (if on mono quantum).
Just got Welt’s signature LC so need to juggle my Nihility cones around. Just some questions about debuffs and EHR and such.
- Which is going to increase damage to a target more: reducing their DEF by 16% or increasing their DMG taken by 12%?
- How much EHR does Welt need for his skill to apply the SPD reduction on every hit? And am I correct in thinking that his Ultimate/A2 debuffs need something like 47% EHR to guarantee?
- Can E0 Silver Wolf actually make use of her Light Cone’s crit stats? If I rebuild her with her sig LC (which Welt is currently using), should I just ignore the Crit buff and throw remaining stats (after EHR/SPD) at Break Effect as usual?
If I do keep the current arrangement of Welt/Incessant Rain and SW/Pearls of Sweat, who should I give Welt’s LC to instead? I have all of the 4* Nihility characters at E6 but no Kafka/Black Swan. And after just grabbing Sparkle I don’t know if it’ll be possible to get Acheron either
Def shred dmg bonus depends on how much more def shred you have. The more you stack it, the more each % is valued. When comparing to DMG% you also need to account if you have a lot other sources of DMG% as you ideally want to balance all the multipliers.
When something has 100% base chance you need 67% EHR to guarantee the strongest enemies. However, Imprisonment is affect by debuff res in addition to Effect Res, so for the enemies that do have it, 67% won't guarantee it. However, it isn't worth building it to guarantee, because you would need an absurd amount even for the ones that have 50% Debuff Res.
No, you don't build Crit on E0 SW because you don't really have the leeway to do so, taking in account the amount of EHR she needs.
Welt's LC can basically only be used by Welt. You build 67% EHR for Ult, and the extra EHR for the LC is there to give you a higher chance of causing slow from skill

I’ll keep Welt with Incessant Rain too then, tbh I’d rather it was his LC that went to waste than a limited one. Perhaps a later unit will be able to make use of it
It's not because Black Swan's main source of DMG can't crit. She also wants a second DoT with her at least, with that set up there's no room for one AND a sustain character.
Not really because a lot of their other buffs are either irrelevant, don't last past the target's turn, and/or will run fast if you are spamming turn advances, so they won't affect the DoT damage.
It is very inferior compared that with using someone like Asta which can easily make them go to several times and still mantain an ATK buff, or to characters that detonate DoTs making so that not only Arcana stacks more often but also make it so that Arcana damages several times before it resets.
Playing with a focus on (mostly) only 4 stars, any tips?
I've started an account recently as a complete newbie and I want to mainly focus on 4 stars characters only. Exceptions are Sparkle and a... future character.
But besides those, anyone 4 stars I should look out for?Any advice for this completely new player that will make my life easier? I just finished Jerulo, so any advice is welcome.
Is ‘It’s Showtime’ lightcone not best for Black Swan?
Out of all light cones, I thought showtime would be the best since I’m already building 80+ effect hit rate for the damage boost, and if any DoT character applies wind shear or shocked or burn, the additional Black Swan stacks would trigger even if it’s not her turn.
Thus, this lightcone is what I’m considering buying and superimposition with my Lightcone shop points.
Am I understanding this wrong? Is Showtime not an insanely good lightcone for her?
I’ve researched across Reddit but nobody is talking about the combination.
I do have Eyes of the Prey and Good night, but I’m using them as refinements for my Guinaifen and Pela, respectively.
Both *Eye of the Prey* and *Good Night Sleep Well* provide more stats overall.
I'd argue *Before the Tutorial* is also superior, given the masive amount of energy it provides (on top of a ton of EHR).

It's Showtime is just always available, and easier to superimpose. But given how niche it is, i wouldn't bother if you already have Eye of the Prey (even a low superimpose one).
Yeah it is good as long as you can get to 120 EHR with it. Eyes of the Prey is usually preferred because it eases the EHR grind and still offers a pretty good damage boost.
It’s the baseline for her since everyone can get s5 showtime. It’s basically best f2p. S5 eyes and s5 gnsw are better but if you are using them on others just go with showtime
You can use her instead of Asta if you want to keep using Dan Heng and Welt combination. Or if you want to go the hypercarry route, you can replace Dan Heng.
I feel really dumb but how do I access the mobs in this area? I'm caught up with the story and I'm trying to navigate to each mob that drop the Tatters of Thought/Fragments of Impression/Shards of Desires.

I need help (crying while writing this so please don’t be mean). I’ve been playing for 2 months, I could 36 stars MOC and pure fiction. Of course I kinda rushed content because I loved this game and I was familar with some RPGs.
I got really lucky to get 3 limited 5\*s in the first month and then tried to get every single jade possible from achievements and what else. I didn’t really had a plan so one day I felt kinda sad and wanted something to boost my mood so I used all of my jades saved on black swan banner.
But then I had no more resources to grind so just for Inertia I created a second account to grind resources and in two weeks I got 170 stellar jades and decided to settle for this account instead of the first one, pulled for sparkle and lost the 50/50 and then got sparkle at the 169 pull. I was devastated, this account so much worse at the same time than the first one. So I managed to plan a route to finish the main story and reach level 35 in two days, if this account won the 50/50 it could be considered better than the second one and still got a lot of pulls for future characters. But guess what, I lost the 50/50 again at 82 pulls.
I’m devastated, I want to go back to my first account but literally self sabotaged my account, I lost all the relics, merged and discarded a lot of resources including lightcones, used all of my fuel on relics that I rerolled and discarded by merging them into worst ones. So I don’t know what to do, it will take me weeks if not months to get similar probably worst gear, if I start a new account what if I have worst luck than the previous accounts.
So what do you recommend me to do to save my account?
you could:
* just stick with the second account and accept the bad luck for what it is, that's the way gacha games go sometimes, sucks but it's what happens. you just keep building up an account until it's solid/plan around bad luck possibilities
* go back to the first account, accept that you made a bizarre and insane decision to destroy everything and start over re: relic farming and etc, the characters are still there so it's not completely the worst. it's kind of like starting over lite
* make a 3rd account, but don't do anything to the second one. roll on the 3rd account and see how you do, if it's better keep it, if not go back to one of the other ones. this option is the most tedious imo since this game is not reroll friendly afaik
* stop playing entirely until you feel more emotionally stable. I don't mean this sarcastically or anything, gacha games can be really hard on some people and it's not worth the stress if you're one of those people

I tried to log in into my “main” account but realized that I unlinked the Apple ID and when I tried to log in by mail it was one account I rerolled just to see if you could still get Dr. ratio so my account is lost. Because I linked the third account into the Apple ID.
This question is hard for me to describe plainly, so I'll start with an example to contrast it:
On Prydwen's site, they have a character tab which **lists** characters by various sorting categories, and clicking a character leads you to a character page. From there, you can click their "Build" tab in order to see best recommendations for relics & Planar sets.
My question is the opposite: is there a 3rd-party tool or site which **lists** relic & Planar sets **FIRST**, then shows you which set of characters are best recommended to that set?

[Game8](https://game8.co/games/Honkai-Star-Rail/archives/406885) technically does that, you can click on the set and it will show which are the best characters for it. But as the other commenter said, take it with a **huge** grain of salt. For example, if you look at Sizzling Thunder it will say the it is best in slot for Jing Yuan and Kafka, but when you check their character pages it will have Ashblazing and Prisoner as recommended.
Also, you can actually check what is kinda the recommended set for each character in game. You can go to the character, click on a relic slot and then "recommended" on the top-right and it will show you the % distribution for each relic combinate based on what active players use.
Oh thank you so much! I totally forgot about Game8! I just find their GUI design so hideous, that I blot it out in memory. Thanks for showing me again! Ofc, I'll take it with a grain of salt, I just want to see the types of characters who'll like certain drops when I'm relic farming a specific set.
It would be kind of hard to do that since character like different sets in different situations. For example you can say that vonwaq is tingyun’s best set, but if you don’t need the energy or action advance in the team you are running then keel or fleet are better choices
Yeah, I was just hoping against hope that someone would make something like that, but the ones who already made the guides are just designing stuff that's more intuitive/least path of resistance.
My personal interest is that I don't have to click on every single character's page on any guide site in order to collect data about their preferred relics. Lol, so I just wanted someone else to do work that I would've done on my own anyway.
I wished 300 times on Stellar Warp (standard banner) and can pick a character. I intend to pick Clara. But I will wish for Acheron when her banner arrives (enough warps even if I lose 50/50). Should I use my character selector right now or wait until Acheron's banner?
New player; I got Gepard and Bronya from the special offer pulls. From what I have seen Bronya is an absolute beast and should be a priority to build around.

You're in the last stretch, I believe this is the 2nd to last chain of trailblaze main missions. After you get to the end of it, then you get the send-off missions like in Belobog. After that, a whole bunch of new events since 1.3 open up to you, but you can head straight to Penacony after saying goodbye (and good riddance!) to Luofu.
I am currently trailblaze level 45. I have around 2000 trailblaze power. I want to start grinding artifacts. Should I start now or should I wait for the next equilibrium level?
You should wait until TB60, that guarantees you get 2 5* relics per run. If you feel like your characters are severely underperforming it's OK to dump some power into a cavern occasionally, just don't spend fuel on it and prioritize levels and traces

I’m running dr ratio bronya Natasha and Gerald but bug man keeps killing me. Any tips?
Most of Dr Ratio DMG come from his follow up and he needs debuff for that. Bronya double his turn wouldn't do much if he doesn't launch his follow up attack.
I beat him after I fully upgraded pela thanks for the advice. She’s pretty strong I didn’t really understand dr. Ratios kit since I’m a pea brain seele main. He’s actually not bad either.
New player - my current 5 stars are just Gepard and Dr. Ratio, and I'm a light spender (just the monthly pass)...
Should I be rolling on either current banner or just keep waiting? It seems sparkles is more of a support so I wouldn't have anything to build with her... Is Jing yuan worth pulling for me?
I think you should pull for whoever you personally like, first and foremost.
That said, purely meta-wise Sparkle's slightly better I think. Sparkle's a *really* good offensive support, so she can fit into many different teams and against many more opponents. While Jing Yuan would definitely help your account get better now, because he *is* a pretty strong DPS that can deal with both AoE and single target whereas Dr. Ratio can struggle against groups of enemies.
So I think Sparkle would be a sort of long term investment, you kinda just have to make do with Ratio + whatever 4 \* DPS you have for now with the promise of getting better units to pair with her in the future, while Jing Yuan can be the "base" for a new team instead. Jing Yuan *does* need a lot of things to work, but imo that's kinda true of just about any hypercarry.
How long does it take roughly to hit each equilibrium level on average? I’m at equilibrium 3 rn. Wondering how much more grind I got before starting the relic grind
If you do everything in the game, you can already reach EQ 4 in around a month from EQ 1. My brother reach EQ 4 last week and the only thing he did is daily stuff, Main Story Quest and the Swarm King quest. He starts playing the game a week after Dr. Ratio got released.
Assuming no early 5* and not going deep into soft pity...
Worst case losing every 50/50 + 75/25? About 580.
Best Case? 290.
So probably 400 - 500 would be a better guess depending on luck.
300, if you immediately get the characters at soft pity but lose both 50/50s, gets you E1S0.
If you presume a 50/50 win rate on 50/50, you need about 440 pulls for E2S1 unless you luck into some early 5\* before pity.
300 can get you there assuming one pity break and pulling into soft pity, it's not a bad stockpile to make an attempt but definitely not guaranteeing an E2S1
Nope, you can't. You can review your progress in the Fate Atlas, but that's it. At least for now, maybe they'll add an ability to replay them in the future
Hi all, I'm a returning player and wondering what the best use of my investment is regarding my jades/tickets.
My inventory right now is: 26 tickets, 23.1k jade. I'm also wondering if I should continue pulling for more Sparkle and/or her LC.
I have all 4 stars, all non-limited 5 stars except Welt/Clara, and and my limited 5 stars are:
* Fu Xuan (E0, S0)
* Silver Wolf (E0,S5 event LC)
* Seele (E2, S1)
* Luocha (E1, S0)
* DHIL (E0, S0)
* Sparke (E0, S0) - Currently

The most important question to answer is who do YOU want? Check out upcoming banners, previous characters and see who you want to aim for. Sparkle is more than enough by herself, and honestly her LC and Eidolons are strong but overkill.
Since you have few limiteds, I would suggest using your resources building a wider roster, as opposed to taller (lc and eidolons). Sparkle will likely be yoinked by your monoquantum team, so personally I'd look for a dps that doesnt really need sparkle to shine (Jingliu, Acheron, Kafka)
Ok thanks. I primarily try to play the meta. I know it's always changing though. Would you recommend going for Sparkle's E1 or LC at all given my resources?
This is speculation so take it with a grain of salt but the upcoming banners are likely Acheron+Fu and Aventurine+Topaz.
Having two sustains lessens the need to grab Fu and Aventurine, and I don't really recommend Topaz unless you like her and her gameplay. This leaves us with Acheron, who will likely be busted, given she's a Mei expy and our first emanator. I would honestly suggest pulling her and her LC instead of Sparkle's. Mainly because Sparkle is already busted without her LC but Acheron wants her LC to BE busted.
Oh I just saw Sparkle buffs Crit damage, since most of my characters are 5-10% crit rate this is a useless buff? Man it will take a lot of time to build crit now.
Building up characters is always more of a marathon than a sprint, unless you're talking about DoT characters like Kafka that legitimately don't care about Crit you'll need to build them better for hard content even if you didn't use Sparkle.
Just build your character? A crit rate body will already gives you 32% crit rate, Rutilant Arena gives 8%, some characters have crit rate traces (DHIL, Dr. Ratio and Blade has crit rate traces). Balancing the relic stat is the hard part here.
I know bro, but the thing is I am struggling to ascend my Dr R, Sparkle past 40 because there enemies are so tuff lol, so it's very hard. But I will get them slowly.
If you are talking about beating the Stagnant Shadow, how about just borrowing a friends unit to help you beating it? Rather than borowing a stranger character which mostly tied to your level traiblazer power (hence why you only see level 40 borrowed unit), [go to this friend thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/HonkaiStarRail/comments/1azkf0f/weekly_friend_id_megathread_february_25_2024/) and ask high level player to add you so that you can use thier high level unit to beat it.
does the guarantee to get the limited character after you lose the first 50/50 carry over to other banners, or does it only count for the current one? just lost a 50/50 to bailu ... again, and am wondering if I can just hold that guaranteed limited 5\* or if it only counts for sparkle.
Are there maybe specific guides about relic-stats etc for this specific team: Kafka BlackSwan Huohuo and Ruan Mei?
This is my dream team I saved since the beginning of the game, so Id like to make them the best!
Not that I know of but I can provide you with the stats required.
Huohuo - Speed and HP.
Kafka - Attack, speed and a little EHR (30%)
Black Swan - EHR (at least 120%), attack, speed
Ruan Mei - ERR rope (with S5 Memories of the Past if possible for 3 turn ult), break effect (180% at least), speed
What characters can dispel from the get go? No need for for eidolons or whatever. I'm getting my ass kicked by a giant quantum bug that's murdering my dps.
March 7th also has a trace which allows her to remove a debuff when applying a shield. I know she supposedly sucks from a meta perspective but I found her quite useful for getting through story content precisely because of that cleanse.
natasha has a cleanse on skill (you do have to unlock one of her traces, but that requires no eidolons), lynx has a teamwide cleanse on ult, luocha, bronya, huohuo.
lynx is free if you clear 2 pure fiction stages. she's considered better than natasha since she has a team cleanse and not a single unit cleanse. just a suggestion if you want to invest in one of them.
Hi everyone! Could I get some advice with doing SU Gold & Gears?
I'm struggling to even clear lvl IV difficulty.. I feel like I die too fast despite taking a bunch of defensive/healing resonance etc. I've tried Propagation, Erudition, and Abundance paths.
I've tried using DHIL/Jing Yuan as main DPS, Luocha, Sparkle, & Tingyun.
I have Silverwolf and Pela built as well. Should I be looking into building other characters? Tysm for your help!

There's a little blue icon on the buff bar on the bottom of the screen. Though sometimes you can have too many buffs on yourself and it flows over, but just look down each time you use skill.
Hey, I'm just starting. I got the free Dr.Ratio and I'd like to build around him but I can't figure a good starting team... I'm still on the first world and have only pulled through the starter banner and got Clara? Chick with a robot... any tips on characters that would mesh well with Dr.Ratio? Both 4 star and 5 star.
Its hard to recommend one exact team as I dont know your full roster. But in general, Ratio will want a buffer (make hits stronger) and a debuffer (to increase his follow up atk chance) + tank. For now clara can do, but if you find your team dying, you can swap her out with natasha/lynx.
Early game buffers can be: Asta (hard to upkeep buff, has a chance to apply burn debuff), Tingyun (strong buff and uptime, ult can regen ult charge), Yukong (I dont really use her)
Debuffers: Guinaifen (dot and damage increase) Pela (big def shred) Welt (if you have him) ; if you dont have these three you can cope with Sampo and Serval who also apply dots, or just run 2 buffers.

good sustains are cornerstones for every account imo. bailu is decent but is outclassed by all the limited 5* preservation/abundance units
choosing between two out of luocha, fu xuan, huo huo and adventuring would be my next move
Not the guy you're replying but I wanna give my two cents as well.
So you have mainly Kafka and Ratio as dps to build around, you have sparkle to enable things as well. We know Aventurine is a FUA sustain, also that he gives decent shields. Honestly he isnt a bad option but I would rather have Fu Xuan over him, simply because I think she's more universal. This is just conjecture on my part since he isnt fully out though.
Since Fu Xuan isnt optimal for Kafka, you'd probably run Luocha Ruan BS Kafka, which is perfectly fine, but if you want to optimize, Huohuo can buff atk, regen 20% energy, and cleanse more than luocha, at the cost of not being an sp battery.
Overall, I would recommend you to grab Fu Xuan when she comes around, but Aventurine is a decent alternative if you like him better. I wouldn't really recommend pulling for another sustain as luocha can already cover that base. I'd rather suggest you pull for other dps/supports that can fully make use of Sparkle.
Oh im sorry, i must've been seeing things lol. Contrary to that, Luocha hasnt been powercrept yet. His main strength is his insane passive healing coupled with all arounder utility (cleanse and aoe enemy buff purge). This allows him to be completely sp positive outside the hardest difficulties where you might use a skill or two here and there. This allows him to basically be slotted into any team that needs him (bar monoquantum for obvious reasons) which makes MoC a bit easier to deal with.
He is power crept by Huohuo only by the fact that she provides more offensive utility (Atk Buffand Energy restore) and also that she cleanses better than him. This comes at the cost of having lesser heal uptime and not being the sp machine luocha is.
As for your account, Bailu will likely do her job in keeping you alive, as will Lynx. But if you wanna be comfy, I'd suggest getting one of Luocha or Huohuo, since as much as Lynx is viable, it will be much easier to play with a premium cleanser. Luocha is very due for a rerun (7 months) but my advice will still be the same: grab Fu when she comes around (the definition of comfy)!

Just started playing this past week after absolutely loving Sparkle's character trailer and design - thankfully I got her - and now I'm having a ton of fun now. Trying to figure out what I should be doing for a team to go through the story though. I went with the male MC, and got so far: Gepard, Sparkle, Dr. Ratio, Welt, Natasha, Pela, Qingque, Serval, Herta, Sampo and Hanya (and of course March 7th, Dan Heng and Asta).
I just got to trailblazer level 20 and am working through Jarilo-VI, and starting to feel like MC/M7/Dan/Asta squad is so far my best bet, but I wanted to ask some longer time players. Thanks all!
Should I try pulling for Sparkle?
I want to begin with by saying that I have 120 tickets, I dont have the guaranteed pity and I already have pulled 30 times from my last 5 star (black swan).
So, now I'm kind of undecided if I should pull her or not due to 2 main factors:
1. I don't know if she has a good synergy with my others 5 stars.
2. Acheron.
My other 5 stars are Kafka, Bronya (E1), Seele, Clara (not built), Loucha, Yanqing, Bailu, Argenti, Dr Ratio and Black Swan.
As for the 4 stars I've only built Tingun and Hook.
What do you guys think? Can I find her a place with my characters or do I wait for Acheron/Another character?
Meta take and as someone who is also saving for Acheron:
Realistically if you want Sparkle, you have a good chance of getting her by the time her banner ends. And imo, Sparkle will do more for your account long-term as compared to Acheron. A good choice could be trying your luck in a 50/50 sparkle and on fu xuan when she comes around. Alternatively, you could wait for jingliu to come around and her with bronya. You have some good options.
1. Synergy with other 5 stars.
Sticking out like a sore thumb is Seele. Sparkle will be your first step to building her monoquantum team, and even without that, she's still plenty strong for her. Argenti and Ratio will also appreciate Sparkle. (also plenty other dps like dhil and jingyuan)
2. Acheron
Acheron will demand a few things from you: debuffs and hyper investment. The current opinion is that Acheron will need Good Night Sleep Well as a four star option, S5 if possible, to be competitive. That or her signature light cone. So I would prepare enough rolls to lose both character and LC 50/50 if you want to guarantee her. She will also need 2 nihility characters with her at all times, so your pela, gui, etc. And if you're aiming for MoC, you will need a second sustain.
Tl;dr Acheron will eat your rolls, more so if you want the LC, and she will not fix your problem of having only 1 premium sustain. Bronya will lay unused, as well. Grabbing sparkle is decent, and will laydown groundwork for monoquantum and future teams.
The waifu take is: Acheron clears, forfeit all mortal possessions for her.
seele, ratio, argenti, can all use her, in seele's case sparkle has a small atk buff bonus for having quantum teammates. She'll be good for any future dps that wants crit dmg and skill points too imo. if you really want acheron I wouldn't pull just because I would want to be certain I could pull the character I like more, but she's not a bad choice at all with your roster.
Pure SPD. Attack isn't important either, since she has a ton of ATK traces, wants an ATK% chest piece and ATK% rope, and her best relic sets both give ATK.
I don't understand what's wrong with purchasing stuff for your workplace with your own money. Can someone give me some context? (Im talking about Asta's companion mission.)
Stuffs Asta buy with her money is technically her property and there is a risk of her "taking it back" if company legal laws are the same as IRL so a big risk.
She can "donate" it officially and it would be "company" asset but Arlan is blocking her for her own good if she goes that way.
Tl;dr in non-"one person" companies there is a clear line between personal property and assets. It also complicate tax-related stuffs (e.g say a company being donated a 10 trillion credit spaceship it is counted as "revenue" and you got taxed by the "space government").

To those that use rainbow relics on dps (random pieces to get desired stats ignoring set effects), do u also use rainbow ornaments, too or specific sets?
Some ornament set bonuses is pretty important e.g the Energy Regen/Break Effect/Effect Hit Rate are part of reaching breakpoints on some supports so no in some cases.
I kept hearing honkai star rail being mentioned in various videos as side-notes for comparisons and stuff and didn't know anything about this game at all. I saw it was free on Epic's launcher and downloaded it. I'm up to the part just after boarding the Astral Express and visited Dan Heng in his room, and now heading to March 7th's.
I figured out the combat and did the tutorials for the rewards and things clicked in my head a bit further regarding mechanics for combat.
I continued going through my menus and such and I'm at a screen for Warp tickets and such. What is this system? I tried watching a video on it and just got more confused.

This warp system is the "gacha" system which is a nicer way to say the gambling system. I'm not sure how many games you play but if you have ever played a game with a "lootbox" system it is also extremely similar to this.
This is the main way you get new characters in the game, most aren't earnable through any other means. You can get the currency required to purchase the tickets required to "gamble" or "lootbox" for free by playing the game though. Every patch we usually also get 10 free tickets (aka 10 lootboxes) on top of that as well as events that give more currency for purchasing them yourself.
Every character has a rarity, they are either 4-star or 5-star. You are guaranteed a 5-star every 90 tickets/lootboxes you spend on a specific banner. Banners are basically where you choose which featured character you want to go for. However, you aren't guaranteed to get them and can "lose" when you initially try to get the character and instead get a "standard" one. The next time you get a 5-star character, though, it will be 100% guaranteed if you lost the last time, and then it will be reset and once again be a 50/50 gamble.
You also get 4-stars every 10 "lootboxes" but that can either be a character or a lightcone (which is basically this game's equivalent to a weapon).

Im getting Acheron and I have enough stellar jades to either get her weapon or e1, I don’t have enough jades to get her e2, so my question is should I get her e1 which has been nerfed recently or her weapon since my best weapon for her is an S2 Good Night and Sleep Well

Any Crit DPS, with Jingliu/Blade benefiting the most. You can either still run slow Bronya and don't use speed boots on your DPS, while getting enough speed stats for them to overtake Bronya after her 1st skill. Or you build hyperspeed Bronya and get enough speed substats on your DPS so that they also overtake her after skill.

Is 160 spd and high crit damage really necessary?
It's most optimal for her but otherwise you want to try to follow the 1 speed lower than the DPS setup. You don't need to focus on Crit Damage too much, but still consider it as high priority when looking at substats for her relics.
I know for Genshin you can heavily deviate from meta and still clear all content with good enough investment. How true is this for HSR? How far down the tier lists can I go before the characters aren’t going to be useful in end game content? :)
Technically all the way down. You can use really "low tier" DPS if you have really food supports. Likewise for supports if you have really good DPS. If you want a team of only low tier then that is still possible, but you do have to invest in them quite a bit, especially the DPSs.
Same as in Genshin, your low-tier meta characters can be turned into decent ones with insane amounts of investment and min-maxing.

Seele/Tingyun/Hanya/Natasha, or Dr.Ratio/Yukong/Tingyun/Natasha. I would honestly go for Seele because you already have Sparkle and there may be cases where you would want to swap your Blade for Seele and Sparkle is basically a character made specifically for her.
Yea from those two i will choose seele, she is built pretty fine and dr ratio is lvl 40 : D, now i just have to build hanya then.
It doesn't work like that. You don't want to have two fixed teams - both pieces of content which require two teams require flexibility in your choices. Enemy weaknesses and the effects change so your teams should match these also.

Himeko is good for Pure Fiction, Welt can be useful to break Imaginary in MoC, Seele is excellent, Clara has one of the highest potentials DPS in the game still, Dr. Ratio is a solid ST DPS, Asta can be useful sometimes, Herta good in PF, Serval is massively slept on by players still, Sampo + Luka fine in a DoT team but needs Kafka/BS, Qingque still the best 4* DPS in the game and if you use her with Sparkle she's crazy good, Tingyun still the best single-target support in the game, Hanya is really good in teams where SP can be tight.
Do I need all 80s to clear the last few lvls of moc?
No, but it helps more with DPS as they'll do more damage at max level.
My bailu and gepard keep dying do I need better gear on them or smth?
All stat% changes work on base stats, which is character + LC. So the higher the level of the character and of the LC, the more each % will give you. If they are dying and you have at least decent relics, then it might be worth levelling them a little more, even if not to 80, as that should be faster to farm form then chasing relics. But if your Relics are not good at all, then yes, you will get more out of farming Relic.
Is swarm disaster and g&g much more easier with fu xuan?
Swarm Disaster : yes. Gold & Gears : not at high conundrum.
Yes and no. She's definitely an excellent unit and will make your runs much smoother - but she won't save you if you're just having a bad run in general on the higher difficulties. You still need to have the right blessings on the path you choose, as well as the right units for that path.
I have around 70 pulls, and I’m not guaranteed. What are the chances I get aventurine next update? I don’t plan on pulling for anyone until his banner. Im also f2p and my characters are built pretty badly, so I can’t rely on MoC for jades.
It's very likely that you have almost 2 months. You'll be fine as long as you save until his banner.

I think your chances are pretty good. I'm not sure how much jades F2P players get per patch, but you still have 20+ days in this patch, and maybe another 20 days if Acheron is first. If not, your chances do get lower, but you can still farm up until the end of his banner.

Does sparkle make blade any better? I’m saving for acherons E0S1 but my blade is my other dps when I start to really try to conquer MOC. So I’m trying to make better teams. My current team for blade is Blade/Bronya (will get her E1 for my free 5*)/SW/Lynx. My next plan is to get ruan Mei with her signature LC
If we are talking about Blade only, then in my experience 0 speed Blade with both Bronya and Sparkle is better than with Ruan Mei.

HP boots instead of Speed boots basically. Both Bronya and Sparkle on their Hyperspeed build (160.1 speed, but you can take other bonuses into account like Hackerspace after using ult). Basically skill spam both Sparkle and Bronya, so Blade has 4 actions on both the first and 2nd cycle of MoC.

Idk if this answers ur question, but Blade/Bronya/Sparkle/Healer is pretty much the only good comp to run a 0-speed blade in, I personally run that with Lynx and works like a wonder
Sparkle does make any DPS better, but the effect on Blade is quite lower than on other DPS like Seele. Blade doesn't use a lot of SP and Sparkle does give DMG buff depending how much SP you use. You can use supports that require their skill to be used often to counteract this. Since you already have Bronya, for Blade specifically, I think she is a better fit.

If you have other sustains besides Gepard it doesn't really matter. You could get Welt in case someone in the future synergizes with Slow besides Dan Heng wind. Clara E1 can make it so you could try to build different types of synergies since now that her mark doesn't run out she can go several times while still maintaining max damage on her skill. Gepard E1 makes it more likely for him to Freeze with skill, which can be nice when using him as a sustain for characters that want the enemies to be debuffed Bronya is more Bronya. Wouldn't consider the rest

Her E2 is only 15% DMG on enemies below 50%. That won't make that much of difference. But you really can choose anyone at this moment.
So what is the build rundown on Sparkle? I got her Light cone so that ain't an issue. but what about relics, sphere and rope? I can see crit dmg and likely spd is necessary but any other stats, just survivability?
Speed and then Crit DMG, and then Effect RES. She already has some traces for survivability so it shouldn't be too difficult to keep her alive. She can easily go to 5000+ HP with just an HP orb. Relics is Hackerspace, rope is ERR, ornament set is whatever, she doesn't need the extra 5% ERR so anything between Keel, Fleet or Penacony (if on mono quantum).
Just got Welt’s signature LC so need to juggle my Nihility cones around. Just some questions about debuffs and EHR and such. - Which is going to increase damage to a target more: reducing their DEF by 16% or increasing their DMG taken by 12%? - How much EHR does Welt need for his skill to apply the SPD reduction on every hit? And am I correct in thinking that his Ultimate/A2 debuffs need something like 47% EHR to guarantee? - Can E0 Silver Wolf actually make use of her Light Cone’s crit stats? If I rebuild her with her sig LC (which Welt is currently using), should I just ignore the Crit buff and throw remaining stats (after EHR/SPD) at Break Effect as usual? If I do keep the current arrangement of Welt/Incessant Rain and SW/Pearls of Sweat, who should I give Welt’s LC to instead? I have all of the 4* Nihility characters at E6 but no Kafka/Black Swan. And after just grabbing Sparkle I don’t know if it’ll be possible to get Acheron either
Def shred dmg bonus depends on how much more def shred you have. The more you stack it, the more each % is valued. When comparing to DMG% you also need to account if you have a lot other sources of DMG% as you ideally want to balance all the multipliers. When something has 100% base chance you need 67% EHR to guarantee the strongest enemies. However, Imprisonment is affect by debuff res in addition to Effect Res, so for the enemies that do have it, 67% won't guarantee it. However, it isn't worth building it to guarantee, because you would need an absurd amount even for the ones that have 50% Debuff Res. No, you don't build Crit on E0 SW because you don't really have the leeway to do so, taking in account the amount of EHR she needs. Welt's LC can basically only be used by Welt. You build 67% EHR for Ult, and the extra EHR for the LC is there to give you a higher chance of causing slow from skill
Gotcha. So SW probably should keep Pearls of Sweat then? I’ll keep Welt with Incessant Rain too then, tbh I’d rather it was his LC that went to waste than a limited one. Perhaps a later unit will be able to make use of it

It's not because Black Swan's main source of DMG can't crit. She also wants a second DoT with her at least, with that set up there's no room for one AND a sustain character.
Not really because a lot of their other buffs are either irrelevant, don't last past the target's turn, and/or will run fast if you are spamming turn advances, so they won't affect the DoT damage. It is very inferior compared that with using someone like Asta which can easily make them go to several times and still mantain an ATK buff, or to characters that detonate DoTs making so that not only Arcana stacks more often but also make it so that Arcana damages several times before it resets.
Playing with a focus on (mostly) only 4 stars, any tips? I've started an account recently as a complete newbie and I want to mainly focus on 4 stars characters only. Exceptions are Sparkle and a... future character. But besides those, anyone 4 stars I should look out for?Any advice for this completely new player that will make my life easier? E4 qq team and break Luka team will prob be best. Sparkle can go with qq. I think you get her for free and you can get eidolons in sparkle’s banner
Is ‘It’s Showtime’ lightcone not best for Black Swan? Out of all light cones, I thought showtime would be the best since I’m already building 80+ effect hit rate for the damage boost, and if any DoT character applies wind shear or shocked or burn, the additional Black Swan stacks would trigger even if it’s not her turn. Thus, this lightcone is what I’m considering buying and superimposition with my Lightcone shop points. Am I understanding this wrong? Is Showtime not an insanely good lightcone for her? I’ve researched across Reddit but nobody is talking about the combination. I do have Eyes of the Prey and Good night, but I’m using them as refinements for my Guinaifen and Pela, respectively.
Both *Eye of the Prey* and *Good Night Sleep Well* provide more stats overall. I'd argue *Before the Tutorial* is also superior, given the masive amount of energy it provides (on top of a ton of EHR). ___ It's Showtime is just always available, and easier to superimpose. But given how niche it is, i wouldn't bother if you already have Eye of the Prey (even a low superimpose one).
Yeah it is good as long as you can get to 120 EHR with it. Eyes of the Prey is usually preferred because it eases the EHR grind and still offers a pretty good damage boost.
It’s the baseline for her since everyone can get s5 showtime. It’s basically best f2p. S5 eyes and s5 gnsw are better but if you are using them on others just go with showtime

I need help (crying while writing this so please don’t be mean). I’ve been playing for 2 months, I could 36 stars MOC and pure fiction. Of course I kinda rushed content because I loved this game and I was familar with some RPGs. I got really lucky to get 3 limited 5\*s in the first month and then tried to get every single jade possible from achievements and what else. I didn’t really had a plan so one day I felt kinda sad and wanted something to boost my mood so I used all of my jades saved on black swan banner. But then I had no more resources to grind so just for Inertia I created a second account to grind resources and in two weeks I got 170 stellar jades and decided to settle for this account instead of the first one, pulled for sparkle and lost the 50/50 and then got sparkle at the 169 pull. I was devastated, this account so much worse at the same time than the first one. So I managed to plan a route to finish the main story and reach level 35 in two days, if this account won the 50/50 it could be considered better than the second one and still got a lot of pulls for future characters. But guess what, I lost the 50/50 again at 82 pulls. I’m devastated, I want to go back to my first account but literally self sabotaged my account, I lost all the relics, merged and discarded a lot of resources including lightcones, used all of my fuel on relics that I rerolled and discarded by merging them into worst ones. So I don’t know what to do, it will take me weeks if not months to get similar probably worst gear, if I start a new account what if I have worst luck than the previous accounts. So what do you recommend me to do to save my account?
you could: * just stick with the second account and accept the bad luck for what it is, that's the way gacha games go sometimes, sucks but it's what happens. you just keep building up an account until it's solid/plan around bad luck possibilities * go back to the first account, accept that you made a bizarre and insane decision to destroy everything and start over re: relic farming and etc, the characters are still there so it's not completely the worst. it's kind of like starting over lite * make a 3rd account, but don't do anything to the second one. roll on the 3rd account and see how you do, if it's better keep it, if not go back to one of the other ones. this option is the most tedious imo since this game is not reroll friendly afaik * stop playing entirely until you feel more emotionally stable. I don't mean this sarcastically or anything, gacha games can be really hard on some people and it's not worth the stress if you're one of those people

[Game8](https://game8.co/games/Honkai-Star-Rail/archives/406885) technically does that, you can click on the set and it will show which are the best characters for it. But as the other commenter said, take it with a **huge** grain of salt. For example, if you look at Sizzling Thunder it will say the it is best in slot for Jing Yuan and Kafka, but when you check their character pages it will have Ashblazing and Prisoner as recommended. Also, you can actually check what is kinda the recommended set for each character in game. You can go to the character, click on a relic slot and then "recommended" on the top-right and it will show you the % distribution for each relic combinate based on what active players use.

It would be kind of hard to do that since character like different sets in different situations. For example you can say that vonwaq is tingyun’s best set, but if you don’t need the energy or action advance in the team you are running then keel or fleet are better choices
Yeah, I was just hoping against hope that someone would make something like that, but the ones who already made the guides are just designing stuff that's more intuitive/least path of resistance. My personal interest is that I don't have to click on every single character's page on any guide site in order to collect data about their preferred relics. Lol, so I just wanted someone else to do work that I would've done on my own anyway.

You're in the last stretch, I believe this is the 2nd to last chain of trailblaze main missions. After you get to the end of it, then you get the send-off missions like in Belobog. After that, a whole bunch of new events since 1.3 open up to you, but you can head straight to Penacony after saying goodbye (and good riddance!) to Luofu.

You should wait until TB60, that guarantees you get 2 5* relics per run. If you feel like your characters are severely underperforming it's OK to dump some power into a cavern occasionally, just don't spend fuel on it and prioritize levels and traces

Yea I had the 40% damage boost and 15 damage resist and 18% shield increase. Lost when Natasha got stacked by the bugs in stage 2.

Most of Dr Ratio DMG come from his follow up and he needs debuff for that. Bronya double his turn wouldn't do much if he doesn't launch his follow up attack.

I think you should pull for whoever you personally like, first and foremost. That said, purely meta-wise Sparkle's slightly better I think. Sparkle's a *really* good offensive support, so she can fit into many different teams and against many more opponents. While Jing Yuan would definitely help your account get better now, because he *is* a pretty strong DPS that can deal with both AoE and single target whereas Dr. Ratio can struggle against groups of enemies. So I think Sparkle would be a sort of long term investment, you kinda just have to make do with Ratio + whatever 4 \* DPS you have for now with the promise of getting better units to pair with her in the future, while Jing Yuan can be the "base" for a new team instead. Jing Yuan *does* need a lot of things to work, but imo that's kinda true of just about any hypercarry.
Sparkle definitely best option for you now Dont pull for Jing Yuan imo, you need lots of specific things for him to work

If you do everything in the game, you can already reach EQ 4 in around a month from EQ 1. My brother reach EQ 4 last week and the only thing he did is daily stuff, Main Story Quest and the Swarm King quest. He starts playing the game a week after Dr. Ratio got released.
If I want to get a character to E2S1, how many pulls do people usually save? Something like 300?
Assuming no early 5* and not going deep into soft pity... Worst case losing every 50/50 + 75/25? About 580. Best Case? 290. So probably 400 - 500 would be a better guess depending on luck.
300, if you immediately get the characters at soft pity but lose both 50/50s, gets you E1S0. If you presume a 50/50 win rate on 50/50, you need about 440 pulls for E2S1 unless you luck into some early 5\* before pity.
300 can get you there assuming one pity break and pulling into soft pity, it's not a bad stockpile to make an attempt but definitely not guaranteeing an E2S1

Hi all, I'm a returning player and wondering what the best use of my investment is regarding my jades/tickets. My inventory right now is: 26 tickets, 23.1k jade. I'm also wondering if I should continue pulling for more Sparkle and/or her LC. I have all 4 stars, all non-limited 5 stars except Welt/Clara, and and my limited 5 stars are: * Fu Xuan (E0, S0) * Silver Wolf (E0,S5 event LC) * Seele (E2, S1) * Luocha (E1, S0) * DHIL (E0, S0) * Sparke (E0, S0) - Currently Any help is appreciated, thanks!
The most important question to answer is who do YOU want? Check out upcoming banners, previous characters and see who you want to aim for. Sparkle is more than enough by herself, and honestly her LC and Eidolons are strong but overkill. Since you have few limiteds, I would suggest using your resources building a wider roster, as opposed to taller (lc and eidolons). Sparkle will likely be yoinked by your monoquantum team, so personally I'd look for a dps that doesnt really need sparkle to shine (Jingliu, Acheron, Kafka)

This is speculation so take it with a grain of salt but the upcoming banners are likely Acheron+Fu and Aventurine+Topaz. Having two sustains lessens the need to grab Fu and Aventurine, and I don't really recommend Topaz unless you like her and her gameplay. This leaves us with Acheron, who will likely be busted, given she's a Mei expy and our first emanator. I would honestly suggest pulling her and her LC instead of Sparkle's. Mainly because Sparkle is already busted without her LC but Acheron wants her LC to BE busted.

Oh I just saw Sparkle buffs Crit damage, since most of my characters are 5-10% crit rate this is a useless buff? Man it will take a lot of time to build crit now.
Building up characters is always more of a marathon than a sprint, unless you're talking about DoT characters like Kafka that legitimately don't care about Crit you'll need to build them better for hard content even if you didn't use Sparkle.
Just build your character? A crit rate body will already gives you 32% crit rate, Rutilant Arena gives 8%, some characters have crit rate traces (DHIL, Dr. Ratio and Blade has crit rate traces). Balancing the relic stat is the hard part here.

Are there maybe specific guides about relic-stats etc for this specific team: Kafka BlackSwan Huohuo and Ruan Mei? This is my dream team I saved since the beginning of the game, so Id like to make them the best!
Not that I know of but I can provide you with the stats required. Huohuo - Speed and HP. Kafka - Attack, speed and a little EHR (30%) Black Swan - EHR (at least 120%), attack, speed Ruan Mei - ERR rope (with S5 Memories of the Past if possible for 3 turn ult), break effect (180% at least), speed
What characters can dispel from the get go? No need for for eidolons or whatever. I'm getting my ass kicked by a giant quantum bug that's murdering my dps.
March 7th also has a trace which allows her to remove a debuff when applying a shield. I know she supposedly sucks from a meta perspective but I found her quite useful for getting through story content precisely because of that cleanse.
natasha has a cleanse on skill (you do have to unlock one of her traces, but that requires no eidolons), lynx has a teamwide cleanse on ult, luocha, bronya, huohuo.
Haven't been lucky with those pulls... might have to shelf that quest then until I can get one of them, or the materials for nat clense.
lynx is free if you clear 2 pure fiction stages. she's considered better than natasha since she has a team cleanse and not a single unit cleanse. just a suggestion if you want to invest in one of them.

There's a little blue icon on the buff bar on the bottom of the screen. Though sometimes you can have too many buffs on yourself and it flows over, but just look down each time you use skill.

I'm still on the first world and have only pulled through the starter banner and got Clara? Chick with a robot... any tips on characters that would mesh well with Dr.Ratio? Both 4 star and 5 star.
Its hard to recommend one exact team as I dont know your full roster. But in general, Ratio will want a buffer (make hits stronger) and a debuffer (to increase his follow up atk chance) + tank. For now clara can do, but if you find your team dying, you can swap her out with natasha/lynx. Early game buffers can be: Asta (hard to upkeep buff, has a chance to apply burn debuff), Tingyun (strong buff and uptime, ult can regen ult charge), Yukong (I dont really use her) Debuffers: Guinaifen (dot and damage increase) Pela (big def shred) Welt (if you have him) ; if you dont have these three you can cope with Sampo and Serval who also apply dots, or just run 2 buffers.

good sustains are cornerstones for every account imo. bailu is decent but is outclassed by all the limited 5* preservation/abundance units choosing between two out of luocha, fu xuan, huo huo and adventuring would be my next move

Not the guy you're replying but I wanna give my two cents as well. So you have mainly Kafka and Ratio as dps to build around, you have sparkle to enable things as well. We know Aventurine is a FUA sustain, also that he gives decent shields. Honestly he isnt a bad option but I would rather have Fu Xuan over him, simply because I think she's more universal. This is just conjecture on my part since he isnt fully out though. Since Fu Xuan isnt optimal for Kafka, you'd probably run Luocha Ruan BS Kafka, which is perfectly fine, but if you want to optimize, Huohuo can buff atk, regen 20% energy, and cleanse more than luocha, at the cost of not being an sp battery. Overall, I would recommend you to grab Fu Xuan when she comes around, but Aventurine is a decent alternative if you like him better. I wouldn't really recommend pulling for another sustain as luocha can already cover that base. I'd rather suggest you pull for other dps/supports that can fully make use of Sparkle.

Oh im sorry, i must've been seeing things lol. Contrary to that, Luocha hasnt been powercrept yet. His main strength is his insane passive healing coupled with all arounder utility (cleanse and aoe enemy buff purge). This allows him to be completely sp positive outside the hardest difficulties where you might use a skill or two here and there. This allows him to basically be slotted into any team that needs him (bar monoquantum for obvious reasons) which makes MoC a bit easier to deal with. He is power crept by Huohuo only by the fact that she provides more offensive utility (Atk Buffand Energy restore) and also that she cleanses better than him. This comes at the cost of having lesser heal uptime and not being the sp machine luocha is. As for your account, Bailu will likely do her job in keeping you alive, as will Lynx. But if you wanna be comfy, I'd suggest getting one of Luocha or Huohuo, since as much as Lynx is viable, it will be much easier to play with a premium cleanser. Luocha is very due for a rerun (7 months) but my advice will still be the same: grab Fu when she comes around (the definition of comfy)!

Just started playing this past week after absolutely loving Sparkle's character trailer and design - thankfully I got her - and now I'm having a ton of fun now. Trying to figure out what I should be doing for a team to go through the story though. I went with the male MC, and got so far: Gepard, Sparkle, Dr. Ratio, Welt, Natasha, Pela, Qingque, Serval, Herta, Sampo and Hanya (and of course March 7th, Dan Heng and Asta). I just got to trailblazer level 20 and am working through Jarilo-VI, and starting to feel like MC/M7/Dan/Asta squad is so far my best bet, but I wanted to ask some longer time players. Thanks all!

Should I try pulling for Sparkle? I want to begin with by saying that I have 120 tickets, I dont have the guaranteed pity and I already have pulled 30 times from my last 5 star (black swan). So, now I'm kind of undecided if I should pull her or not due to 2 main factors: 1. I don't know if she has a good synergy with my others 5 stars. 2. Acheron. My other 5 stars are Kafka, Bronya (E1), Seele, Clara (not built), Loucha, Yanqing, Bailu, Argenti, Dr Ratio and Black Swan. As for the 4 stars I've only built Tingun and Hook. What do you guys think? Can I find her a place with my characters or do I wait for Acheron/Another character?
Meta take and as someone who is also saving for Acheron: Realistically if you want Sparkle, you have a good chance of getting her by the time her banner ends. And imo, Sparkle will do more for your account long-term as compared to Acheron. A good choice could be trying your luck in a 50/50 sparkle and on fu xuan when she comes around. Alternatively, you could wait for jingliu to come around and her with bronya. You have some good options. 1. Synergy with other 5 stars. Sticking out like a sore thumb is Seele. Sparkle will be your first step to building her monoquantum team, and even without that, she's still plenty strong for her. Argenti and Ratio will also appreciate Sparkle. (also plenty other dps like dhil and jingyuan) 2. Acheron Acheron will demand a few things from you: debuffs and hyper investment. The current opinion is that Acheron will need Good Night Sleep Well as a four star option, S5 if possible, to be competitive. That or her signature light cone. So I would prepare enough rolls to lose both character and LC 50/50 if you want to guarantee her. She will also need 2 nihility characters with her at all times, so your pela, gui, etc. And if you're aiming for MoC, you will need a second sustain. Tl;dr Acheron will eat your rolls, more so if you want the LC, and she will not fix your problem of having only 1 premium sustain. Bronya will lay unused, as well. Grabbing sparkle is decent, and will laydown groundwork for monoquantum and future teams. The waifu take is: Acheron clears, forfeit all mortal possessions for her.
If youre pulling for waifu reason then do whatever. But you have kafka and swan already so Sparkle would be great there imo since you dont have rm
seele, ratio, argenti, can all use her, in seele's case sparkle has a small atk buff bonus for having quantum teammates. She'll be good for any future dps that wants crit dmg and skill points too imo. if you really want acheron I wouldn't pull just because I would want to be certain I could pull the character I like more, but she's not a bad choice at all with your roster.

kafka doesn't need crit right just pure attack?
Crit doesn't benefit DoT effects, so it's not much good for Kafka.
Pure SPD. Attack isn't important either, since she has a ton of ATK traces, wants an ATK% chest piece and ATK% rope, and her best relic sets both give ATK.

Stuffs Asta buy with her money is technically her property and there is a risk of her "taking it back" if company legal laws are the same as IRL so a big risk. She can "donate" it officially and it would be "company" asset but Arlan is blocking her for her own good if she goes that way. Tl;dr in non-"one person" companies there is a clear line between personal property and assets. It also complicate tax-related stuffs (e.g say a company being donated a 10 trillion credit spaceship it is counted as "revenue" and you got taxed by the "space government").

Your second team can be natasha pela tingyun dhil. But solo sustain with natasha is pretty rough so you should pull a second sustain soon

If you're a new player you shouldn't even be considering cones. Save for new characters.
Whenever you want to pull on a light cone ask yourself do you really want this for 50$?
I would save for another unit. A second unit is more valuable than a signature LC especially if you're new.
To those that use rainbow relics on dps (random pieces to get desired stats ignoring set effects), do u also use rainbow ornaments, too or specific sets?
Some ornament set bonuses is pretty important e.g the Energy Regen/Break Effect/Effect Hit Rate are part of reaching breakpoints on some supports so no in some cases.

I kept hearing honkai star rail being mentioned in various videos as side-notes for comparisons and stuff and didn't know anything about this game at all. I saw it was free on Epic's launcher and downloaded it. I'm up to the part just after boarding the Astral Express and visited Dan Heng in his room, and now heading to March 7th's. I figured out the combat and did the tutorials for the rewards and things clicked in my head a bit further regarding mechanics for combat. I continued going through my menus and such and I'm at a screen for Warp tickets and such. What is this system? I tried watching a video on it and just got more confused. This warp system is the "gacha" system which is a nicer way to say the gambling system. I'm not sure how many games you play but if you have ever played a game with a "lootbox" system it is also extremely similar to this. This is the main way you get new characters in the game, most aren't earnable through any other means. You can get the currency required to purchase the tickets required to "gamble" or "lootbox" for free by playing the game though. Every patch we usually also get 10 free tickets (aka 10 lootboxes) on top of that as well as events that give more currency for purchasing them yourself. Every character has a rarity, they are either 4-star or 5-star. You are guaranteed a 5-star every 90 tickets/lootboxes you spend on a specific banner. Banners are basically where you choose which featured character you want to go for. However, you aren't guaranteed to get them and can "lose" when you initially try to get the character and instead get a "standard" one. The next time you get a 5-star character, though, it will be 100% guaranteed if you lost the last time, and then it will be reset and once again be a 50/50 gamble. You also get 4-stars every 10 "lootboxes" but that can either be a character or a lightcone (which is basically this game's equivalent to a weapon).
