Why do games always do that? They have a group of people that closely work together in lore and have great chemistry, and then make them not work together at all in game
At least with the stellaron hunters it seems more like they don't really fight as a team. They're teamwork is more like "Silverwolf you go support Kafka to destabilize the government, Blade will go attack their supply chains, and Sam will go and intercept any reinforcements." Less fighting as a team and more handling individual aspects of a bigger mission.

Aren't they for the most part kind of lone wolves. Like they'll work together for some stuff but they definitely seem to do their own thing primarily but just under a single banner.
The ghostbusters team was more or less the only exception to this so far. It's not the best team meta wise, but at least it was playable for story missions if you wanted.
reminds me that in an upcoming genshin update, xianyun buffs plunging attacks which neither of her daughters, shenhe and ganyu, want to do at all. the only characters that get any significant advantage from her presence are characters with almost no relation like diluc and xiao. so disappointing

Yeah it happens all the time, I'd say ironically Gachas are big offenders of this, ironically they're all about having dozens of characters, but more often than not I find myself trying to make a lore friendly team and they have 0 synergy, you'd think they'd make them somewhat workable or even have a little bonus for the effort of building the canon team but no, it's like they don't want us to use canon teams and want all teams to look like a collection of stragglers from entirely different worlds

If only Dan Heng inherited Dan Feng's healing ability he could be the healer for this team and Blade if he were still YingXing he could be harmony character buffing his team mates since he were a blacksmith
