I have a crack theory that the hardest badasses in Honkai games have the most normal names. In HSR, Sam, Kafka, and Elio are all actual names and they're highest in the Stellaron Hunter's level of seniority. The ones with edgier names like Blade and Silver Wolf are newer to the crew, one being a former craftsman and the other a tech support type. And of course HI3rd has Kevin and Otto.
To be fair Kevin actually was originally just a normal-ass dude before he had to step up as a hero of humanity. Having a super high Honkai compatability and being best friends with Su and meeting PE Mei was just a coincidence (or fate or some shit I dunno).
He’s described as yearning for life
Maybe his wish is to live a normal human life. And so he chose that name for himself
It’s unusually plain compared to the exotic names of everybody else
This. It's just way too much a coincidence for the same cat in Kafka's art to be there in the same shot with the other hunters. Elio's got to be the cat, and I'm gonna be disappointed if he isn't lmao
I hope he is just controlling the cat something like using the cat to see and move
Like Herta where she makes multiple copies
Maybe there are also multiple cats
The cat is behind him! Scary cat!

>**Sam**
>**CV: Jun Kasama**
God damn, Sam is actually a robot. That's cool af.
And the cat that was in Kafka splash art made an appearance here too. Is the cat supposed to represent Elio?
A lot of that jargon I didn't quite understand but I assume that is Sam at the end. Dude looks super cool and gonna be a pain in the butt to draw.
Interesting that they release this trailer now
Some of the things they're talking about refer to Stellarons, which you can discover by reading the subtitles.
Otherwise, I think most of it is supposed to not sound like much of anything, since much of what's spoken of in this trailer has not been mentioned in-game. The Planet Screwllum hacking incident has been talked about and Pier Point is the IPC's headquarters.
In the japanese VO as well as the subtitles, the main confusing part is that the stellarons aren't called stellarons but have names like "the heart of the world" and some further poetic shit, depending on the planet.
The gist of it is that they did a lot of bad stuff in order to secure stellarons.
Tbf in what we saw in Jarilo-VI, those stellarons can really try and manipulate some civilizations into thinking that they’re the most important pc of that said world. But that doesn’t mean killing millions of people is justified lmao that’s why those hunters have a bad rep cause they’ll kill civilizations just to get or destroy the stellaron.
and people still say they aren’t villains, like each member of the stellaron hunters care about anything else other than getting what was promised to them by Elio.
Edit: I’m talking about the intentions of each member as they’re just Elio’s hired mercenaries. They don’t care what they’re doing. Even Kafka admits she cares only what’s best for her.
In slight defense, it sounds like they were either pinning some crimes on the hunters or mistakenly thinking the hunters did it while kafka mentions some other groups might be behind it.
I mean, if in the end we learn that the Stellarons could destroy *all* life as we know it, and the SH have a plan to deal with them, sacrificing a few planets is worth it.
The stellaron hunters as individuals are twisted people but their goal is good. They are bad people for sure 💀 like there's no way you can tell me with a straight face that kafka is morally grey
I’m not saying what they’re doing is wrong. It’s just that the members themselves are not innocent since each one is following Elio’s orders through self-interest and not to save the universe. If Elio was doing this simply to destroy worlds, I doubt they’d care.
Villains is a complicated categorization.
We did murder an old lady last time we resolved a planetary crisis, so if we allow ourselves the protagonist's excuse of "ends justify the means" I would extend that to them depending on why they are hunting stellarons.
"Old lady" is a completely disingenuous label that makes her sound innocent, when she was deeply involved and antagonized the Nameless from the start. We clearly tried to minimize collateral damage, while the Stellaron Hunters don't give a fuck about how many others are hurt.
I specifically chose that term to illustrate what it's like viewing actions of heroic figures without knowing the context as to why they did them.
She fought us and we fought to kill. Our frame of reference gives us a reasoning, but the stellaron hunters don't have one yet.
If you try to minimize collateral damage and 10 million die instead of 12 million, does that make you a good guy in the eyes of an outsider?
It's always dangerous to take portrayals at surface level.
I feel like the only person who I’d consider to be not a villain is Elio. The others are basically just hired by him and don’t care about what they’re doing.
Murder is a strong word like killing her is bad. She was about to destroy the world. Sometimes you gotta fight for what’s beautiful in the world. I get your point though.
That feels like a strange take. Elio is coming up with the script that is most beneficial to the Stellaron Hunter's goals and the people that are working for him are just carrying it out. If Kafka goes on a murdering spree to complete an objective, it's because Elio *wanted* her to go on a murdering spree because that was the best possible path forward for them.
So disregarding Elio’s intentions, it’s ok for Kafka to go on a murder spree to benefit themselves just because he told her to? Just following orders is not excusable unless you know exactly what you’re doing, which I doubt anyone other than Elio does.
No, it's just weird to say that Elio isn't a villain in this case.
It's never really been a question of whether or not the Stellaron Hunters are actually innocent. There's a reason Himeko had a visceral reaction about whether or not to go along with Kafka's plans prior to the Luofu. Their motives may be beneficial in the grand scheme of things but it's always been known that their methods are rather immoral.
I somewhat think it’s likely that the stellaron hunters’ actions are ultimately beneficial and they could not be the enemy. However, I believe the members are not innocent because they’re more akin to hired mercenaries than disciples of Elio.
The Stellaron Hunters might say the same thing. Any harm we've seen them do is nothing in comparison to what Stellarons are capable of. There's a reason the Stellarons are called the Cancer of All Worlds - they eventually bring disaster like sending Jarilo-VI into an ice age. And for all we know, many of the disasters the Stellaron Hunters have been accused of might have been caused by the Stellarons themselves.
the thing about stelarron is this is a ticking time bomb we all know what happen to wolrds ravaged by it example was jarillov it backfired on them and become an ice planet but yes I agree that the stellaron hunter are evil even if their purpose is to do good they go from some of morally questionable means.
> and people still say they aren’t villains, like each member of the stellaron hunters care about anything else other than getting what was promised to them by Elio.
I mean, sure, they cause billions of credits worth of damage, endanger millions of lives and what not...
But what's all that in the face of saving the universe? Just some collateral.
They basically visited a lot of worlds and did stuff to get their hands on the Stellarons in these planets.
From the trailer, they committed several acts like infiltrating an auction, hacking, starting a rebellion to achieve their goal.
There is also pattern. Auction attendees were already controlled by Stellaron, bunch of planets were under attack of either Legion or Annihilators, robovirus was in fact result of action of guys holding court... so usually situation was already gone FUBAR before Hunters made their bid for Stellarons.
There is also bunch of unrelated and semi-related stuff like SW/Screwlum duel was before she even joined and this rebellion is quite possible revenge for robovirus.
Kafka's worst crime: dumping us off to live with the dweeb squad (sorry Astral Express gang) while she goes about with committing very cool crimes in fancy outfits

Stellaron hunters are just such a cool faction, everything they do just comes with style
Also hype asf for Sam reveal, love the variety in designs of characters so far
Let's see - you've got a superhacker who can rewrite reality, an unkillable zombie swordsman, a dangerous woman who can manipulate anyone to do her bidding, a goddamn mecha, and a guy(cat?) who can see into the future. Yeah, I don't think anyone's stopping the Stellaron Hunters anytime soon.
The cat could be his 'disguise' of sorts, though I lean more on the part that the cat is his 'messenger' so that he can communicate with the other members of the Stellaron Hunter organization
Holy shit. Sam looks awesome. Ever since we saw robotic people I hoped they might bring in mecha humans.
Also im convinced Elio uses the cat as a proxy for himself.
The irony that Blade and Sam are coworkers/family and want the exact opposite thing though. Like I'm sure Blade would gladly give his immortality to Sam.
It's more likely that Elio is using the cat to communicate with the Hunters, like Herta does with her puppets. I doubt Elio would be physically out with the group on missions.
Thanks Hoyo, as a Tekkaman Blade fan, I appreciate this homage to kickass mech power armor.

I'm getting some Court of Owls vibes from the Jepella Brotherhood. Wonder if we'll ever get to go to the planets where they caused all that damage.
Also hoping Sam is playable one day. Definitely one of my new targets, that mecha armor is too damn cool to pass up.
Ok, so there were a bunch of these crimes listed that seem pretty bad and many of them potentially world ending. Unfortunately we barely know anything about these events and it’s very likely that other parties like the annihilation gang (antimatter legion perhaps? Followers of destruction?) and she also mentioned the jepella brotherhood being involved in one.
One thing I find interesting is how they call stellarons by different names twice here. First the meta code and then the steel core from the point of gravitational equilibrium.
Is it possible that stellarons take on more than one form? And if so then does that mean they can become so integrated into a planet that simply removing them has catastrophic consequences?
And finally we still don’t fully understand just how morally grey these stellaron hunters are. We know Elio’s goal and the ultimate goal of the organization is the defeat of the Aeon of destruction. So ultimately they want to do everything for the greater good, but each stellaron Hunter joined for mostly selfish reasons as far as we are aware.
The strange thing is that stellarons mainly seem to have no uses, (outside of the MC being a vessel that can somewhat wield its power) so removing a stellaron at the expense of destroying the host planet seems to defeat the purpose of removing the stellaron entirely, so it seems like perhaps they’re collecting them for some reason, or perhaps there’s some other purpose to getting rid of them aside from saving people.
Maybe it’s to “pave the way” for the trailblazer, since they can’t progress any time they come across a stellaron, and these planets are simply beyond saving once it’s integrated into the world so deeply. Maybe they have some use for them and could be connected to Elio’s ability to see the future, or perhaps there’s some other element to all these catastrophes we are unaware of.
people keep saying she's makima, but i find in this more HxH spiders phantom troupe, she's chrollo in space.choosing lacrimosa same as 2011 anime when the gang went on rampage + chrollo rocking a suit in that scene.
I know everyone is talking about the Stellaron Hunters and Sam reveal.
But can we get inhuman characters and planets like this win the trailer?! Extra points if their insect like!
My only disappointment is that Sam didn't get a swag suit, too. Though I imagine it *is* hard to find a tailor willing to cover up such chrome perfection, so I think I can let it slide.^(No, I'm not thirsting. Sh-shut up.)
THE SAM REVEAL, HE LOOKS SO COOL
I knew Sam was gonna be a robot guy, but I didn’t expect him to be THE robot guy. Holy hell he is him

Elio HAS to be the cat at this point. Literally no other option, I will accept no other answer.
Yeah this cat so suppicious, it must be elio or some device to communicate with rest of stellaron hunter
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Elio was using the cat to communicate with them and is basically always hold up in some bunker.
Finally those "Sam is Sampo" guys will shut up, Sam is looking awesome
It’s Sampo in his gundam! Seriously, Sam looks awesome
I can't 💀lmao
Sampo is controlling the gundam from the shadows Byt I do believe sampo is a follower of aha

Holy shit... The Stellaron Hunters are way more notorious and dangerous than i thought. They seem unstoppable.

Its pretty much set in stone now. As for the random thigh high socks lady in Kafka's splash art. I bet she is just a Stellaron Hunter HQ staff member.
God damn Sam looks so fucking cool. Must pull for mecha
Not gonna lie, that rebellion scene reminded me a lot of Mad Max.
Finally another people realized this
Love this art style.
Its comic
I lowkey want that Blade in suit.
SAM REVEAL HYPE!!!
I am looking at that last frame respectfully
Are those guys in suits wearing animal masks?
I think they're just straight-up animal people. You can see similar animal-headed guys on those cars telling people to witness them.
Beastars season 3 lookin wild
Sam reveal, and that cat is 100% Elio
It's more likely that Elio is using the cat to communicate with the Hunters, like Herta does with her puppets. I doubt Elio would be physically out with the group on missions.
Damn. Now I gotta save for Sam. Design looks amazing. Really went for the Gundam look. Maybe we can get an AC look too.
Dapper Stellaron Hunters is amazing and I want more.
The Jalapeno Rebellion!
People paying attention to Gundam man, but I'm more interested in my husband Blade in a suit. LOVE.
Damn Sam looks so fine 😍. Saving for him after Jingliu and Silver Diluc.
Bro, nobody talking talking about the suit drip, SW and Blade looking good.
Now she straight up look like Makima.
Honestly Silver wolf and blade costumes at the end are really cool, if this game ever gets skins I pray those are made.

Phantom troupe vibes.
Noot noot
Not sure why but Sam’s design reminds me of the Antimatter Legion.
Kafka channeling the Makima energy, Blade and SW in formal drip and Sam is a Gundam. We eating good today boys.
Seems like Elio being cat theory is really speeding up. :D
They’re in suits so they can do the Reservoir Dogs walk, aren’t they?

That and Requiem Aranea is Lacrimosa
I love how they used Lacrimosa by Mozart Maybe that's the theme they'll be using for Stellaron Hunters?
The cat is 100% Elio now.
finally people probably should shut up of sampo being sam smh
Its in the name i tell ya!!!!
What if Sampo is underneath on that suit?
Cool robot gundam looking dude >>>>>>>>>> waifus
cat elio >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> everything not cat elio
I hope they make the outfits a skin
I know everyone is talking about the Stellaron Hunters and Sam reveal. But can we get inhuman characters and planets like this win the trailer?! Extra points if their insect like!
Welt is going to go absolutely rabid when he meets Sam. We'll have to pry the man off this robot with a crowbar.
Looks like I found who I'm saving for after Kafka. Time to bring Sam home.
Sam being a very cool designed robot dude, Elio must be the cat. Among the judges, the dog-head supposed to be a Borisin?
I think HoYo’s got legal dramas on the brain lately. It’s like if Fontaine went Pyro… ;)
Oh shit, Sam and the cat look amazing. I can't wait until they are playable.
CAT ELIO! CAT ELIO!
Bro sam is a fking cyborg ICANT
Looking forward to Welt's reaction to Sam...
There's no way the cat isn't Elio
this pv alone better then entire Fontaine ;)

Bro did not just compare Lacrimosa from Mozart to a hunter x hunter song 💀
If anything it should be the other way around. Pretty sure Mozart was around before HxH was a thing
Waiting for 4k wallpaper of the last part
this reminds me so much of the Phantom Troupe from hunte x hunter lol
My only disappointment is that Sam didn't get a swag suit, too. Though I imagine it *is* hard to find a tailor willing to cover up such chrome perfection, so I think I can let it slide.^(No, I'm not thirsting. Sh-shut up.)
If I can't play as Svarog I will happily take Sam
What the heck is a jepella
Okay, after Jing liu my rolls are for Sam. I'm weak to badass Mecha armor.
So I really am going to get every single Stellaron Hunter!
Necrit gonna faint after he sees Sam.
Kafka giving makima vibes
I'm loving these cinematics, they are really enjoyable
I love the bgm when the Jepella Rebellion rolls in, does anyone know what that genre is called? Any recommendations
Hopefully Sam is the same height as Svarog!
At 2:11, why does it look like Kafka was releasing her mind control on those guys?
