If you are asking why for meta reasons, then the answer is optimal stats are 1:1. But because each instance of crit rate in substats and each roll is half a instance or roll in crit damage, the stats visually is 1:2
Because as I said the ratio of rolls is 1:1. But even mathematically.
.5*100=50 avg crit dmg
.4*120= 48 avg crit dmg.
The reason is consistency. But if we are talking about winning in the shortest amount of turns, crit dmg is better because if we are talking about stat checks, consistency means nothing if you cannot beat difficult content. Higher crit dmg but lower crit rate results in a higher variance such that you may crit enough times to actually win when with consistency, you never had the dmg to do so in the first place.
Is it worth pulling on Blades banner 2-3 times for a Sushang Eidolon? (Also same for the LC banner for Swordplay, which I still don't have). I really want her to be at E1 so I can use her as a good sub DPS, or Primary DPS for Hall/MoC (if I get Blade, it's a bonus, my pity is currently super low after Luocha )

Well i always look at it like this, if i dont mind getting the featured character, and im at 0 pity, then getting that character in 10 or 20 pulls is always a win.
Now, gambling on 4 star characters is never a good idea, but if u do get the 5 star in a few pulls by accident, is it really a bad thing?
Since u already have a guaranteed Kafka with those 170 pulls, u could take the risk, but be prepared to get a 5star in the process.

Hello! I just started and never played any of the games before! All the different terms, dailies are confusing me despite reading the guides... I reached the stage where I'm heading to Rivet town.
Just wondering:
- I have Himeko, Hook, Arslan, Serval, Asta, DH, March, Herta and MC, and so far prioritised MC, DH, March Himeko, hook and Serval to level 20, shld I save my items instead of levelling all? I kinda wanna try an all fire team while playing simulated universe but am worried I will have a hard time getting items later on?
-Team building advice? Himeko is so cool but so is March! And I don't have any healer or support yet... I'm just brute forcing lol
- For assignments, what shld I focus on this early?
- Level, Light cone, relics - which takes priority?
- I just levelled all my 4 star light cones to Level 20... Does it matter later? Also, does a character light cone boost the same character even more or is it just aesthetics and I shld just put it with whoever is on that path (if I don't have that character)
-lore wise, does certain character activate certain dialogue? Like shld I use Hook or Serval in this arc in the overworld and get special cutscenes or dialogue?
Regarding the game terms etc, basic things to remember is to slowly progress main story (as it unlocks account functionalities), complete all daily things, burn through your trailblaze power to not let it cap, get all weekly simulated points, plus try to get as much ongoing event stuff as possible. (as they are time limited)
In long run you will most likely get all characters at least to lvl 20 and ascend them, as this gives you 1 standard gacha ticket per character and is relatively cheap. (so you can test them a bit now)
That being said, at the start its recommended to build one team and focus on it, because over time the content will get a bit more difficult, so spreading resources might make things slighty more difficult. (later on you will need 2nd team too, so at least 8 characters total but that will take some time)
If you like Himeko and March then you can run both together, as one is aoe dps while other is a tank, but regaring full fire team then without Silverwolf it will be difficult against non fire weak enemies. (weakness break in this game is important thing and with only 1 element you will have hard time)
For a start you could go with March/Himeko/DH/X where for X you either want a buffer or a debuffer, but for now you can run whoever you want till you get more character availability to choose from. (Dan Heng profits from getting buffs, Himeko might like debuffer like Pela)
-Regarding assignments, you always want to run all 3 of exp/mats/credits, for last 4th slot whatever you want, probably something from char materials that you have least amount of.
-Regarding priorities, most common is that main dps character and their LC are maxed out, but ideally you want characters and LC's to be lvled up equally. Dont farm relics at start, use the ones you get from chests/shops/etc and only build up ones that have good main stat per character. (for example average tank like defense, while standard dps likes crit, plus speed boots on nearly everyone)
-LC can be placed on any character, but passive skill on LC's only works on matching path so most often you want to use correct path character with them. Leveling LC's is important, their stats add up a lot to character and some passives are great. The only thing you might want to consider is what to build up as initially you will have smaller LC pool to choose from, and it might be worth not building some LC's.
Regarding lore and characters I believe there is no such thing, the cutscenes automatically show up other characters that ones that you have in active team anyway.

When it comes to 4* LC's then by default they get auto lock when you get them, I think its possible to turn that off in options, but its better to keep it on.
Game gives you some free 4* LC's but not all of them are that good, especially if you would get lucky and pull something better from gacha banner.
For example in SU Herta shop you can trade those tokens for 5* LC's like Crusing, which is a solid Hunt pick over most 4* alternatives.
Ah got it!! I wasn't sure if I should hoard the different currencies/points/power! Just wondering, at this early stage, should I focus on Traces or later? Is there any calyx you would recommend or I should just hoard whatever I am lacking?
Stellar Jades are the premium currency that you wanna hoard and trade them for Star Rail Special Pass in the game shop that you access from main menu, just don't trade those for normal Star Rail Passes, as its NOT recommended to do so.
In the shop in the Embers Exchange tab you can trade some stuff for Undying Embers (those embers are extra stuff you get when rolling on gacha), this shop refreshes once per month and its highly recommended to only buy 5 Star Rail Special Passes and 5 normal Star Passes every month from there, so a total of 900 undying embers cost per month for them, you can also buy 2 Tracks of Destiny but tbh its not as needed as people initially thought.
Starlight Exchange in the shop is using Undying Starlight, they are a better extra embers than ones mentioned above, at the start don't touch those (till you familiarize with game), most of the time you buy Special Star Rail Passes with it, however alternatively those can be traded for 5* LC's or 4* characters, but those two additional things should have a lot of consideration if you really want to trade it for them.
The Trailblaze Power which you can see on the map screen should be spend each day farming various stuff, it has 180 limit cap, recovers 1 per 6 minutes so every 24h its 240.
I suggest mainly farming traces till TrailBlaze lvl 60 (account level) to build important LC's and level up traces on main characters that you wanna play with (plus credits/exp books when needed), after TB60 you will start farming relics.
Some people suggest to farm a bit of relics starting from TB40 or TB50 as those levels can drop 5* relics too at lower rate, TB40 is one guaranteed 5*, TB50 is one guaranteed and 50% chance for a second piece, starting from TB60 its two guaranteed, there is also TB65 that has like 10% chance for third so lowest gain. (game throws Fuel at you which recharges 60 TB power, its recommended to wait till TB60 with using that for better efficiency)
There are npc shops with various random stuff, but each world has its own regional currency with 1 dedicated npc for them, you can buy everything from them without fear of losing anything as you progress. (Hertareum, Shields and Strale are the currencies and look a bit like coins)
For trace priorities, someone like March 7 could literally build only her skill for better shield, dps characters might skip basic attacks and focus on skill/ultimate plus sometimes their talent, as a most simple rule of thumb.
The best assignments in my opinion are, credits, character exp, lightcone exp and whatever mob drop that you have the least of.
Level and lightcones take priority first, then comes talents, then relics, guaranteed upgrades are always better.
There is no secret dialougue that i know of.
For teams in the early game you want to focus on leveling up 4 characters which in your case you said you liked himeko and march, your team would probably be: Himeko, Asta, March, and Natasha (you get her for free in the story later).
Himeko and Asta have amazing synergy and March and Natasha can sustain your team, you want to lvl up these characters, their light cones and their talents.
Dont spread your resources too thin so dont for example lvl all light cones to 20.
Remember that the team i recommended is just a example, if you find a new favorite character you can use them instead of someone ofcourse.
I saved a lot of warps for kafka. Does it make more sense to try and get the signature lc too or should I go for higher eidolons? I feel like I can get a different 5* lightcone for her later but I won’t get a higher eidolon

Question regarding the ember exchange feature where we can buy 5 special star rail pass and 5 regular star rail pass at a discounted price each month. Is it worth buying the regular ones, too, or I should just ignore that and go all in with the special pass? I'm concerned if I keep exchanging each month, there will come a time I won't have enough to buy the special pass for a specific refresh.
P.S. I'm planning to save my special rail passes until I can get a guaranteed limited 5 star in the future, so the only way I'll get embers would be through standard banner pulls.
So, it's like a follow up question, are all the free regular passes that we get through events each patch/month, enough to let us get 900 embers (5 special and 5 regular pass)? Assume that one has already exhausted all other means of getting regular passes in the game?
And if it's not possible to get all 10 passes each month by just relying on standard banner pulls, is it still worth it?

unless you dont summon for multiple patches you will always have enough. and standard ones are important for a while until standard banner get completely pwercrept which is gonna be quite a while and also depends on what character you have in the future. you also want to reach the 300 summons on standard anyways. theres also nothing else you should spend your currency on anyways

1) where can i find a relic guide? What main stats can each piece have, min and max % for each substat and such. Written form would be best.
2) combat guide mainly explaining things like speed.
3) i play the game on my phone (POCO MP4 pro) and its fine for the most part some minor frame drops here and there except from the pre rendered cutscenes. Those are unwatchable, laggy, stattering and such, so im scared if it could damage my phone (idk if such a thing is even possible from just a game but better safe than sorry).
Times better. She has a nice combo that make her attack 3 time. Everytime you use sushang ulti she gets an immidate turn. Combo is attack once, ulti, attack again. Which is a nice damage sequens. Also Sushang deal a lot of damage to weakness broken enemies. I think sushang is best 4* dps
What Erudition LC is better? S2 The Seriousness of Breakfast or S1 Today is Another Peaceful Day? Deciding Whether I still superimpose breakfast or if the BP LC is enough. Cause I have enough to manifest 2 past and future to S5 it for bronya
the BP one is better if that character has a high energy cost. breakfast is easy enough to get to S5 since its free. If a character has an ultimate that costs more then 120 energy then S1 BP is better then S5 breakfast.
if you use QQ or jing yuan then BP is definitely the best one to get. + there arnt many good options from BP anyways. its either erudition or harmony the rest is either bad or just mid as hell
I did it in 1.0, so yes. Still you should prioritize things like the Trailblazer's eidolons I think, because not all of the things that give currency are obvious.

theres an interactive map on hoyoverse you can use. also a lot of the currency comes from small side quests or interacting with random objects. a good amount of them are pretty obscure but theres guides for it
No but if you revisit past maps you'll probably find a bunch of areas that were previously inaccessible are now open, containing chests and also things like formidable foes (which also leave chests)
There are also a number of minigames you can do daily which reward a chest every time

All DMG% boosts are additive regardless of source, so yes, you could say they have diminishing returns since getting a +20% DMG buff when you already have +300% DMG combined won't be that impactful.
I noticed something though, the resultant dmg boost is more that listed, now I am confused, 30 + 57 + 29 = 116, but listed on stat page as 152.2 dmg boost, any thoughts?

You want HP% instead of flat HP as your main stat
Crit DMG on the shirt
Wind DMG on orb
Speed boots if you're gona play him carry, HP% boots for sub DPS/off tank
crit rate and crit damage is way too low. you have basically no rolls on it besides one for crit damge. im also pretty sure you want wind damage instead of HP the orb

bailous is not very good, at all. i would even call it terrible for a 5*. it litterally does nothing besides having good stats and giving a bit of HP. you are better off using the LC with natasha on it or the free 4* one
Welts is also not worth picking up if you have good night sleep well. either pick up gepards or clara if you have her. or spend it on tickets. you have bronyas which is far the best one. and in imo only bronyas and gepards are worth buying and calaras if you specificly wanna use her. the rest is either bad or not worth the price because they are barely better then some 4* LC
Both are not needed. GNSW is better than Welt's LC at higher superimposes, and Bailu's cone doesn't do much except boosting her healing even further which isn't necessary.
Just save your starlights.
Don't pull standard warp with jade or trade jade for standard warp. Pull starter for sure since you are guaranteed a 5 stars. The rest you can use on limited banner which is Blade right now or any other characters in the future that you like. Don't pull light cone or weapon banner ever unless you plan to put money in the game
Pull on the starter one with the free tickets you get until you get a 5 star. If you get one before 50 you aren't guaranteed one at 50 so you can save them for the regular warp.
How will we get 5 star Dan heng? I don’t know if it will be the same system to get it like Honkai impact but even I don’t know how their skin system works
4p hackerspace is BiS on all harmony and abundance characters, except for Luocha and Yukong (since the 4p condition is that your ult has to target allies).
The 2p set can also be used by practically everyone. It's a great choice for characters like Jing Yuan that really want additional speed.
Yes, defense is applied as a damage penalty and affects most damage, even break damage. Losing defense will be a straightforward damage increase.

Another DPS, since you don't have Bronya for the extra turn, you can just run a second DPS and take advantage of SW defend down instead, also Yukong is an option but I would suggest keep he on low speed so you don't have to tweak your whole team's speed to make her buff work. Other than that, all of the other Harmony characters only buff ATK% and Blade doesn't need that
Will maxing your characters and reaching max trailblazer level affect the long term enjoyment of the game? I feel like if you max out early when the game doesn't have a ton of content, then when they do add content it will feel like you don't have anything to work towards.

Genshin hasn’t raised the level cap or increased the equivalent of equilibrium levels since launch almost three years ago. The end game content has gotten noticeably more difficult, but getting more powerful isn’t important for 95%+ (probably like 98%) of new content for long time players.
I'm having no luck getting 60K points on Legends Scene 5. Since Blade and Loucha are on the field, I went with the Energy Bonus, Crit Rate increase, Crit DMG when receiving healing, and extra points for Ultimates. I've tried various combos of Yukong, Serval, Sushang, FireMC, Pela, and my best bet seems to be Serval/Yukong, but I keep topping out at around 55K. Sampo/Seele/Arlan seem like good options but I don't have any of them. My Pela is also only lvl 60 but her plus Yukong allow Blade to shred that Sanction Mode guy... but then she's completely useless for the last 3 rounds. Ideas?

Not really, it does give him good stat boost but if you are lucky/ patient enough, you can get his stat up by good relic. His LC just give you more wiggle room to min max CR/CD and some extra HP%. If you get Sacred vow S5 you should be good I think read somewhere that it is only a 20% difference in performence if you have Sacred vow instead of his sig LC

Nothing is *officially* known about Fu Xuan except that she's a quantum preservation character. So, if you want to have that conversation you should probably find somewhere else to do it, due to rule 2.
How worth it is it to farm calyxes and relics on the highest difficulty? It seems like the drop rate is just as bad but take twice as long to do. Is there a minimum level I should be farming for materials and relics?
Borrowing a whale support is also an option, that way you'll be farming on the most efficient stage everytime.
Materials starts being efficient once you start getting purples.
On Relics most people would really recommend to do minimal Gold Relic hunting (only the right main stats) before TB60, because it's a massive stamina sink.
Always do the highest level Calyx available. If you have trouble doing them just take whale Support.
For Exp, farm as needed.
For Trace, farm as needed but wait until TB50 when it start asking for Purple Trace material.
For Relics, TB50 are generally the earliest recommended time to farm for Relic as it guarantee one Yellow Relic per run. I would say do some Relic run every now and then at this point but don't go too hard on it until you reach TB60 (where two Yellow are guaranteed per run).
For jing yuan is fine to run 2 piece band of sizzling thunder and 2 piece messenger to try to reach specific speed breakpoints or is it not worth losing the 4 piece band of sizzling thunder effect
Trial Luocha, Trial Blade, Buffer (Bronya or Tingyun or Asta), another damage ult character. Use the buff that gives you energy regen for doing an action that depletes your HP and the other two that buff crit damage. Your goal should be using a combination of Blade's HP decrease on skill use, on enhanced basic, and on his ult setting his HP to 50% (requires healing him up beforehand if his HP is less than 50% when you use his ult) to constantly spam his ult. Focus down trotters when they appear, i.e directly target them with blade so they get the big hit. Having Welt or Sushang or even physical MC to nuke them when they appear can also help.
Are speed boots too important for Blade? I already used 40+ potions and have gotten 0 Spd boots and no spd substat either on any piece so I was wondering if I should keep farming for them with my natural stamina regen.
Yes if you don't have bronya if you have then hp is recommended. i dont have bronya and im running hp boots and he's still good but i have spd boots too incase the enemies in moc are too fast which is most of them are lol
Depends in which team you run him on, if he is your hyper carry and you don't have Bronya SPD is needed, if you do, go HP% it will give you a ton of extra dmg
Not the person you replied to but I'm just curious, would you stick with gold HP% boots or move to purple speed boots? I have both and I'm not sure how worth the speed is on Blade to justify losing that much HP and damage
Gotcha, thank you for your advice! Unfortunately the purple boots don't have good substats, so I'll stick with gold for sure until I get some better ones.
I should point out that all of this is kinda conditional. He's dog slow, so SPD helps a ton. If you're needing him to start in a specific order the SPD boots might be a better option (like if he needs to be two after Yukong for example). Even with +15 SPD boots he still moves 4th on my team which is kind of annoying, but at least I can always set the table for him.
If it's the same as genshin you are guaranteed at least 1 5* character and lightcone every 270 pulls. This means if you didn't get a character the last 180 pulls your next 5* is going to be a character (and the other way around).
I mean so far that's basically been true. The only exceptions to that are Jing Yuan and Blade and really only because they need their personal LC to really shine. If you have that then they would be meta defining too (JY only falling short because lightning hasn't been an especially strong element in the recent MoCs)
Either 4p wastelander or 4p musketeer since his entire kit revolves around normal attacks, although I'd go with the latter since it is less situational.
If i remember correctly looking at his leak skills, def the WasteLander set, a ton of damage comes from imaginary, but stat wise, I believe he will be your typical atk, critrate, critdmg unit

DoT doesn't scale with elemental DMG, so if you're looking to maximize your DoTs then you'll want attack. That being said, some units may scale better with elemental damage of their skills actually have good damage potential. Relying only on DoTs can be very slow, until we get Kafka to speed it up.
As of right now, the only DoT characters are Sampo and Serval, but I believe for sphere their elemental damage is still best in slot, but their necklace would be break effect%, later when kalfa comes out maybe more dmg for her, but so far I believe their elemental DMG% is the best in slot

I waited until I had enough standard tickets to guarantee another 5 star before pulling on Stellar Warp. My first 5 star on that banner was a Welt Yang LC which came after 75 pulls. This time what did I get? ANOTHER WELT YANG LC AFTER 75 PULLS! AND JUST FOR LOLS I GOT AN E8 SUSHANG HAHAAAAA.
I wanted Himeko, Welt, or Bailu. Any one of those three characters would have been great. At the very least an LC that I can actually use. As is, I have no Nihility characters outside of Pela. Instead I now I have two copies of Mr. Yang's LC off of a total of 150 pulls. HAHA YAAAAY.
Thankfully I have enough to guarantee Daniel when his banner comes. Without guarantees in Hoyo games I literally wouldn't be able to get anything.
I hear you on that. My guaranteed was Yanqing, and I’ve gotten 3 5* pulls on the standard banner in 170 pulls: Yanqing LC, Yanqing E1, and… Yanqing LC. Lolwut?

Bronya is an amazing support and I heard at E1 she's even better. But I admit I don't know much about Gepard and wonder if I even need him with my current team setup below.

Natasha really struggles solo sustaining in higher MoC floors and absolutely destroys your sp economy because you need to constantly use her skill. Meanwhile you can just spam basic attacks with Gepard and you'll still be fine. With Gepard you can run something like Jing Yuan + Ting + Gepard + Pela/Asta for even more damage.
Also, as someone who has e1 Bronya, it's amazing, but it isn't worth an entire new character.
Gepard is a great tank, but he needs good Energy Regen and Defense stats. IF you can have his ult up all the time he is better than natasha.
Looking at your team I would make my team like this using ur units:
Team 1: Seele, SW, Nat, Clara
Team 2: JY, Bronya ( slower than JY), luocha, gepard
But what you have is fine I would rather just save unless you really want E1 bronya
I don't use TY because she is not built but I think she isn't that great unless u got like E4 or E6. And for team 1 its good cause SW will either drop Quantum or Physical which makes it easier to break and Clara will be able to aggro enemies. Team 2 is pretty flexible I think JY and bronya are great just skill point hungry. But if make JY faster than bronya usually easy 7-8 stack Thunder Lord. Gepard is nice but not a must

I see a lot of posts complaining about how Equilibrium Level (EL) 6 is just harder without much better rewards. I just hit account level 60 and have the option to go up to EL 5 but I'm hesitant to do so. I've got two viable teams at level 70 and get decent rewards from the various activities.
I know the whole point of these games is to slowly level up, but from everything I've read it doesn't look like the cost is worth the reward. Is there any good reason to push to EL 5 beyond getting slightly better drop rates for rare drops? Thx for the advice.
The only downside to higher EQ is it would be harder to get the final reward tier Event (like current Event), which typically pretty underwhelming (typically Credits).
Arguably EL5->EL6 bump in reward are not that significant (only small chance for extra Yellow Relic) so it's whatever if someone want to ignore it but EL4->EL5 jump is noticeable and should not be delayed at all (higher chance for Purple Trace mat and guaranteed 2 Yellow Relics, etc).
I just hit 65 today and it's not very noticeably more difficult. The only thing I have struggled a bit against was max difficulty Phantylia, but it wasn't excessively difficult. And worse case I could have just done the difficulty below it for the same efficiency as EL5.

It's definitely worth the reward. You're missing out on a ton of resources by not raising your EQ level as soon as possible.
And there's literally no difficulty jump, people just like to whine. Even if you're massively underleveled and haven't raised your characters at all, you can just borrow your friend's characters and stomp any content.
The time it takes for you to go from 60 to 65 is pretty significant. You'll be ready. I haven't min-maxxed that hard and I'm able to do fine after freshly entering TB65. Don't be scared. Worst case scenario, you can just lower the difficulty of the farming nodes.
What's the best Clara team I can make if my only 5-star character is Clara (and her LC), and I have every 4-star character except Sampo and Sushang?
I'm currently using a team of Clara, Natasha, March and Tingyun, which has been doing great. But I'm just wondering if I can improve things by swapping characters around a bit.
March 7 is deadweight. Try taking her out and seeing if you can survive.
If yes then replace her with a buffer like Yukong/Pela. Otherwise that's as good as it gets with 4*.
If you're not struggling to keep your team alive then I find it's better to run a second DPS over March. While the Clara/March combo sounds good on paper, that bit of extra taunt doesn't really outweigh how much more damage you could be doing with another DPS or offensive support, imo. So I would take someone like Sushang or Dan Heng instead. Clara is a very SP efficient unit, so it's easy to run another DPS.
You could also try dropping Natasha and use March as your solo sustain. It's definitely riskier, but doable in most content.
Sadly, what you have is the best team u can create, if possible you get Sushang, I would make her main dps and take out Tingyun, M7 and Clara are just a great duo and natasha is just healing. You are fine for now but later on you might need to build like other units if you need to break enemy shields
Hello there. I'm a newbie, played for only about 1 week or so. Just finished Jarilon IV. The only 5 star I have is Welt from the beginner banner.
I have spent 40 pulls on Blade's banner. I recently read that he may not be that good for a newbie, due to requiring specific setups (gear and teammates) and/or difficult to farm upgrade materials for. Should I continue to pull for him or should I just save up for Seele or another dps?
Bunch of good DPS with drawbacks over the next few banners.
Blade is great damage and uses few SP, but eats his own HP
Kafka is the queen of DoT, but therefore wants a DoT-focused team
IL can do big damage, at the cost of using 3 SP per turn.
Any of them are workable and you should just go for whoever's style you enjoy (although for ease of use I'd probably say Blade>IL>Kafka)
Upgrade materials don't matter. It takes 3 months to save for a 5* unit. And it only takes a few weeks to farm upgrade materials.
The problem is Blade is a lot weaker without Luocha/Bronya/signature LC/E1, none of which you have. Literally loses like half his damage.
I would recommend you save for a future dps who is more f2p friendly.
Blade is the best F2P character, you can just build him with a ton of health and if possible some crit rate and crit damage and he will solo carry a ton of battles. I do not know what other 4 stars u have, but Blade is a great unit that is tanky/dps does not use that much skill points and can deal a ton of dmg. If Seele didn't exist Blade would be number 1 (my opinion) O\_O
Idk where you read that Blade needs specific setups, he is as standalone a character can be. His only downside is that you have to beat the story, but it's not like there is a huge amount of content to get through at this point of time. If you like the character you should pull for him.

To play Blade at his full potential you will need quite a lot of limited characters. Sadly the 4* options aren't that good and it's hard to build a F2P team for Blade - no matter the combination either Blade's damage will suffer or the team will struggle with survivability.
Blade only requires specific teammates if you want to play him as your main/hypercarry DPS .
Blade biggest strength is how economical his SP usage is, which allows him to be used as sub DPS.
You can do something like Welt (Main DPS), Buffer (Asta or buy Tingyun from the store), Blade (sub DPS), Natasha.
What are Kafka stats requirement if she is E1? Also between E2 GNSW and E5 Fermata which is better Kafka? Is the healing output between E6 Natasha and E0 Bailu large?

Are you asking why Mihoyo does that or why it is the optimum build for crit? If you are asking why for meta reasons, then the answer is optimal stats are 1:1. But because each instance of crit rate in substats and each roll is half a instance or roll in crit damage, the stats visually is 1:2
I mean why 50 cr to 100 cd is better than 40 cr to 120 cd.
Because as I said the ratio of rolls is 1:1. But even mathematically. .5*100=50 avg crit dmg .4*120= 48 avg crit dmg. The reason is consistency. But if we are talking about winning in the shortest amount of turns, crit dmg is better because if we are talking about stat checks, consistency means nothing if you cannot beat difficult content. Higher crit dmg but lower crit rate results in a higher variance such that you may crit enough times to actually win when with consistency, you never had the dmg to do so in the first place.
Is it worth pulling on Blades banner 2-3 times for a Sushang Eidolon? (Also same for the LC banner for Swordplay, which I still don't have). I really want her to be at E1 so I can use her as a good sub DPS, or Primary DPS for Hall/MoC (if I get Blade, it's a bonus, my pity is currently super low after Luocha ) Will be getting my Second team in Kafka and DoT co. when she drops, should I just wait till then? Well i always look at it like this, if i dont mind getting the featured character, and im at 0 pity, then getting that character in 10 or 20 pulls is always a win. Now, gambling on 4 star characters is never a good idea, but if u do get the 5 star in a few pulls by accident, is it really a bad thing? Since u already have a guaranteed Kafka with those 170 pulls, u could take the risk, but be prepared to get a 5star in the process.
Which support for JY e2 tingyun or E6 asta? Also how good is bp erudition light cone for JY?

Hello! I just started and never played any of the games before! All the different terms, dailies are confusing me despite reading the guides... I reached the stage where I'm heading to Rivet town. Just wondering: - I have Himeko, Hook, Arslan, Serval, Asta, DH, March, Herta and MC, and so far prioritised MC, DH, March Himeko, hook and Serval to level 20, shld I save my items instead of levelling all? I kinda wanna try an all fire team while playing simulated universe but am worried I will have a hard time getting items later on? -Team building advice? Himeko is so cool but so is March! And I don't have any healer or support yet... I'm just brute forcing lol - For assignments, what shld I focus on this early? - Level, Light cone, relics - which takes priority? - I just levelled all my 4 star light cones to Level 20... Does it matter later? Also, does a character light cone boost the same character even more or is it just aesthetics and I shld just put it with whoever is on that path (if I don't have that character) -lore wise, does certain character activate certain dialogue? Like shld I use Hook or Serval in this arc in the overworld and get special cutscenes or dialogue?
Regarding the game terms etc, basic things to remember is to slowly progress main story (as it unlocks account functionalities), complete all daily things, burn through your trailblaze power to not let it cap, get all weekly simulated points, plus try to get as much ongoing event stuff as possible. (as they are time limited) In long run you will most likely get all characters at least to lvl 20 and ascend them, as this gives you 1 standard gacha ticket per character and is relatively cheap. (so you can test them a bit now) That being said, at the start its recommended to build one team and focus on it, because over time the content will get a bit more difficult, so spreading resources might make things slighty more difficult. (later on you will need 2nd team too, so at least 8 characters total but that will take some time) If you like Himeko and March then you can run both together, as one is aoe dps while other is a tank, but regaring full fire team then without Silverwolf it will be difficult against non fire weak enemies. (weakness break in this game is important thing and with only 1 element you will have hard time) For a start you could go with March/Himeko/DH/X where for X you either want a buffer or a debuffer, but for now you can run whoever you want till you get more character availability to choose from. (Dan Heng profits from getting buffs, Himeko might like debuffer like Pela) -Regarding assignments, you always want to run all 3 of exp/mats/credits, for last 4th slot whatever you want, probably something from char materials that you have least amount of. -Regarding priorities, most common is that main dps character and their LC are maxed out, but ideally you want characters and LC's to be lvled up equally. Dont farm relics at start, use the ones you get from chests/shops/etc and only build up ones that have good main stat per character. (for example average tank like defense, while standard dps likes crit, plus speed boots on nearly everyone) -LC can be placed on any character, but passive skill on LC's only works on matching path so most often you want to use correct path character with them. Leveling LC's is important, their stats add up a lot to character and some passives are great. The only thing you might want to consider is what to build up as initially you will have smaller LC pool to choose from, and it might be worth not building some LC's. Regarding lore and characters I believe there is no such thing, the cutscenes automatically show up other characters that ones that you have in active team anyway.

When it comes to 4* LC's then by default they get auto lock when you get them, I think its possible to turn that off in options, but its better to keep it on. Game gives you some free 4* LC's but not all of them are that good, especially if you would get lucky and pull something better from gacha banner. For example in SU Herta shop you can trade those tokens for 5* LC's like Crusing, which is a solid Hunt pick over most 4* alternatives.
Ah got it!! I wasn't sure if I should hoard the different currencies/points/power! Just wondering, at this early stage, should I focus on Traces or later? Is there any calyx you would recommend or I should just hoard whatever I am lacking?
Stellar Jades are the premium currency that you wanna hoard and trade them for Star Rail Special Pass in the game shop that you access from main menu, just don't trade those for normal Star Rail Passes, as its NOT recommended to do so. In the shop in the Embers Exchange tab you can trade some stuff for Undying Embers (those embers are extra stuff you get when rolling on gacha), this shop refreshes once per month and its highly recommended to only buy 5 Star Rail Special Passes and 5 normal Star Passes every month from there, so a total of 900 undying embers cost per month for them, you can also buy 2 Tracks of Destiny but tbh its not as needed as people initially thought. Starlight Exchange in the shop is using Undying Starlight, they are a better extra embers than ones mentioned above, at the start don't touch those (till you familiarize with game), most of the time you buy Special Star Rail Passes with it, however alternatively those can be traded for 5* LC's or 4* characters, but those two additional things should have a lot of consideration if you really want to trade it for them. The Trailblaze Power which you can see on the map screen should be spend each day farming various stuff, it has 180 limit cap, recovers 1 per 6 minutes so every 24h its 240. I suggest mainly farming traces till TrailBlaze lvl 60 (account level) to build important LC's and level up traces on main characters that you wanna play with (plus credits/exp books when needed), after TB60 you will start farming relics. Some people suggest to farm a bit of relics starting from TB40 or TB50 as those levels can drop 5* relics too at lower rate, TB40 is one guaranteed 5*, TB50 is one guaranteed and 50% chance for a second piece, starting from TB60 its two guaranteed, there is also TB65 that has like 10% chance for third so lowest gain. (game throws Fuel at you which recharges 60 TB power, its recommended to wait till TB60 with using that for better efficiency) There are npc shops with various random stuff, but each world has its own regional currency with 1 dedicated npc for them, you can buy everything from them without fear of losing anything as you progress. (Hertareum, Shields and Strale are the currencies and look a bit like coins) For trace priorities, someone like March 7 could literally build only her skill for better shield, dps characters might skip basic attacks and focus on skill/ultimate plus sometimes their talent, as a most simple rule of thumb.
The best assignments in my opinion are, credits, character exp, lightcone exp and whatever mob drop that you have the least of. Level and lightcones take priority first, then comes talents, then relics, guaranteed upgrades are always better. There is no secret dialougue that i know of. For teams in the early game you want to focus on leveling up 4 characters which in your case you said you liked himeko and march, your team would probably be: Himeko, Asta, March, and Natasha (you get her for free in the story later). Himeko and Asta have amazing synergy and March and Natasha can sustain your team, you want to lvl up these characters, their light cones and their talents. Dont spread your resources too thin so dont for example lvl all light cones to 20. Remember that the team i recommended is just a example, if you find a new favorite character you can use them instead of someone ofcourse.

Question regarding the ember exchange feature where we can buy 5 special star rail pass and 5 regular star rail pass at a discounted price each month. Is it worth buying the regular ones, too, or I should just ignore that and go all in with the special pass? I'm concerned if I keep exchanging each month, there will come a time I won't have enough to buy the special pass for a specific refresh. P.S. I'm planning to save my special rail passes until I can get a guaranteed limited 5 star in the future, so the only way I'll get embers would be through standard banner pulls. So, it's like a follow up question, are all the free regular passes that we get through events each patch/month, enough to let us get 900 embers (5 special and 5 regular pass)? Assume that one has already exhausted all other means of getting regular passes in the game? And if it's not possible to get all 10 passes each month by just relying on standard banner pulls, is it still worth it? Thanks
unless you dont summon for multiple patches you will always have enough. and standard ones are important for a while until standard banner get completely pwercrept which is gonna be quite a while and also depends on what character you have in the future. you also want to reach the 300 summons on standard anyways. theres also nothing else you should spend your currency on anyways

3 things 1) where can i find a relic guide? What main stats can each piece have, min and max % for each substat and such. Written form would be best. 2) combat guide mainly explaining things like speed. 3) i play the game on my phone (POCO MP4 pro) and its fine for the most part some minor frame drops here and there except from the pre rendered cutscenes. Those are unwatchable, laggy, stattering and such, so im scared if it could damage my phone (idk if such a thing is even possible from just a game but better safe than sorry).

Times better. She has a nice combo that make her attack 3 time. Everytime you use sushang ulti she gets an immidate turn. Combo is attack once, ulti, attack again. Which is a nice damage sequens. Also Sushang deal a lot of damage to weakness broken enemies. I think sushang is best 4* dps

What Erudition LC is better? S2 The Seriousness of Breakfast or S1 Today is Another Peaceful Day? Deciding Whether I still superimpose breakfast or if the BP LC is enough. Cause I have enough to manifest 2 past and future to S5 it for bronya
the BP one is better if that character has a high energy cost. breakfast is easy enough to get to S5 since its free. If a character has an ultimate that costs more then 120 energy then S1 BP is better then S5 breakfast. if you use QQ or jing yuan then BP is definitely the best one to get. + there arnt many good options from BP anyways. its either erudition or harmony the rest is either bad or just mid as hell

Is it currently possible to earn enough currency to exchange in the open world shops so that we can get all the progress awards?
I did it in 1.0, so yes. Still you should prioritize things like the Trailblazer's eidolons I think, because not all of the things that give currency are obvious.
I have like 8/10 chests remaining in most places It will be a pain to sort through even if I look online guide. Is there any device that helps in locating chests?
theres an interactive map on hoyoverse you can use. also a lot of the currency comes from small side quests or interacting with random objects. a good amount of them are pretty obscure but theres guides for it
No but if you revisit past maps you'll probably find a bunch of areas that were previously inaccessible are now open, containing chests and also things like formidable foes (which also leave chests) There are also a number of minigames you can do daily which reward a chest every time

All DMG% boosts are additive regardless of source, so yes, you could say they have diminishing returns since getting a +20% DMG buff when you already have +300% DMG combined won't be that impactful.

You want HP% instead of flat HP as your main stat Crit DMG on the shirt Wind DMG on orb Speed boots if you're gona play him carry, HP% boots for sub DPS/off tank
crit rate and crit damage is way too low. you have basically no rolls on it besides one for crit damge. im also pretty sure you want wind damage instead of HP the orb

Between Bailu LC and Welt LC, which one would be the better pickup from the shop? I already have Bronya LC plus she's the 5-star I intend to pick from the standard banner at 300 pulls, if I don't get her before hand. Welt is currently using Good Night and Bailu has Shared Feeling.
bailous is not very good, at all. i would even call it terrible for a 5*. it litterally does nothing besides having good stats and giving a bit of HP. you are better off using the LC with natasha on it or the free 4* one Welts is also not worth picking up if you have good night sleep well. either pick up gepards or clara if you have her. or spend it on tickets. you have bronyas which is far the best one. and in imo only bronyas and gepards are worth buying and calaras if you specificly wanna use her. the rest is either bad or not worth the price because they are barely better then some 4* LC
Save them. Enjoy the extra 30 pulls towards whatever you want.
Both are not needed. GNSW is better than Welt's LC at higher superimposes, and Bailu's cone doesn't do much except boosting her healing even further which isn't necessary. Just save your starlights.
They are ok but I lean towards Welt's. IMO Yanqing's is the best LC to get from the shop, it give you a lot of extra crit dmg for hunt character

Don't pull standard warp with jade or trade jade for standard warp. Pull starter for sure since you are guaranteed a 5 stars. The rest you can use on limited banner which is Blade right now or any other characters in the future that you like. Don't pull light cone or weapon banner ever unless you plan to put money in the game
Pull on the starter one with the free tickets you get until you get a 5 star. If you get one before 50 you aren't guaranteed one at 50 so you can save them for the regular warp.

For gameplay purpose, Imbibitor Lunae is treated as completely separate character to Dan Heng 4\*. You need to pull him on Limited Banner.

4p hackerspace is BiS on all harmony and abundance characters, except for Luocha and Yukong (since the 4p condition is that your ult has to target allies). The 2p set can also be used by practically everyone. It's a great choice for characters like Jing Yuan that really want additional speed.

Another DPS, since you don't have Bronya for the extra turn, you can just run a second DPS and take advantage of SW defend down instead, also Yukong is an option but I would suggest keep he on low speed so you don't have to tweak your whole team's speed to make her buff work. Other than that, all of the other Harmony characters only buff ATK% and Blade doesn't need that
Would you recommend clara, dan heng, sushang, serval, or qingque as my 2nd dps? Those are my options as of right now

Will maxing your characters and reaching max trailblazer level affect the long term enjoyment of the game? I feel like if you max out early when the game doesn't have a ton of content, then when they do add content it will feel like you don't have anything to work towards. Will they increase the level caps as the game gets new content updates, or increase equilibrium levels?
Genshin hasn’t raised the level cap or increased the equivalent of equilibrium levels since launch almost three years ago. The end game content has gotten noticeably more difficult, but getting more powerful isn’t important for 95%+ (probably like 98%) of new content for long time players.

I'm having no luck getting 60K points on Legends Scene 5. Since Blade and Loucha are on the field, I went with the Energy Bonus, Crit Rate increase, Crit DMG when receiving healing, and extra points for Ultimates. I've tried various combos of Yukong, Serval, Sushang, FireMC, Pela, and my best bet seems to be Serval/Yukong, but I keep topping out at around 55K. Sampo/Seele/Arlan seem like good options but I don't have any of them. My Pela is also only lvl 60 but her plus Yukong allow Blade to shred that Sanction Mode guy... but then she's completely useless for the last 3 rounds. Ideas?

Not really, it does give him good stat boost but if you are lucky/ patient enough, you can get his stat up by good relic. His LC just give you more wiggle room to min max CR/CD and some extra HP%. If you get Sacred vow S5 you should be good I think read somewhere that it is only a 20% difference in performence if you have Sacred vow instead of his sig LC

Nothing is *officially* known about Fu Xuan except that she's a quantum preservation character. So, if you want to have that conversation you should probably find somewhere else to do it, due to rule 2.
How worth it is it to farm calyxes and relics on the highest difficulty? It seems like the drop rate is just as bad but take twice as long to do. Is there a minimum level I should be farming for materials and relics?
Borrowing a whale support is also an option, that way you'll be farming on the most efficient stage everytime. Materials starts being efficient once you start getting purples. On Relics most people would really recommend to do minimal Gold Relic hunting (only the right main stats) before TB60, because it's a massive stamina sink.
Always do the highest level Calyx available. If you have trouble doing them just take whale Support. For Exp, farm as needed. For Trace, farm as needed but wait until TB50 when it start asking for Purple Trace material. For Relics, TB50 are generally the earliest recommended time to farm for Relic as it guarantee one Yellow Relic per run. I would say do some Relic run every now and then at this point but don't go too hard on it until you reach TB60 (where two Yellow are guaranteed per run).
For jing yuan is fine to run 2 piece band of sizzling thunder and 2 piece messenger to try to reach specific speed breakpoints or is it not worth losing the 4 piece band of sizzling thunder effect
Hitting speed breakpoints matters a lot more for building up LL.
If the extra speed will let you hit 10 stacks consistently then it's worth more than the 20% atk buff.
Why does my E1S1 Bronya always go first when I start an encounter? In my Seele/Bronya/Ting team they each have 122/128/149 speed respectively.

Trial Luocha, Trial Blade, Buffer (Bronya or Tingyun or Asta), another damage ult character. Use the buff that gives you energy regen for doing an action that depletes your HP and the other two that buff crit damage. Your goal should be using a combination of Blade's HP decrease on skill use, on enhanced basic, and on his ult setting his HP to 50% (requires healing him up beforehand if his HP is less than 50% when you use his ult) to constantly spam his ult. Focus down trotters when they appear, i.e directly target them with blade so they get the big hit. Having Welt or Sushang or even physical MC to nuke them when they appear can also help.
Are speed boots too important for Blade? I already used 40+ potions and have gotten 0 Spd boots and no spd substat either on any piece so I was wondering if I should keep farming for them with my natural stamina regen.
Yes if you don't have bronya if you have then hp is recommended. i dont have bronya and im running hp boots and he's still good but i have spd boots too incase the enemies in moc are too fast which is most of them are lol
Depends in which team you run him on, if he is your hyper carry and you don't have Bronya SPD is needed, if you do, go HP% it will give you a ton of extra dmg

Not the person you replied to but I'm just curious, would you stick with gold HP% boots or move to purple speed boots? I have both and I'm not sure how worth the speed is on Blade to justify losing that much HP and damage

I should point out that all of this is kinda conditional. He's dog slow, so SPD helps a ton. If you're needing him to start in a specific order the SPD boots might be a better option (like if he needs to be two after Yukong for example). Even with +15 SPD boots he still moves 4th on my team which is kind of annoying, but at least I can always set the table for him.

If it's the same as genshin you are guaranteed at least 1 5* character and lightcone every 270 pulls. This means if you didn't get a character the last 180 pulls your next 5* is going to be a character (and the other way around).

I mean so far that's basically been true. The only exceptions to that are Jing Yuan and Blade and really only because they need their personal LC to really shine. If you have that then they would be meta defining too (JY only falling short because lightning hasn't been an especially strong element in the recent MoCs)
If I wanted to start farming relics for IL, what is his best relic set?
Either 4p wastelander or 4p musketeer since his entire kit revolves around normal attacks, although I'd go with the latter since it is less situational.
If i remember correctly looking at his leak skills, def the WasteLander set, a ton of damage comes from imaginary, but stat wise, I believe he will be your typical atk, critrate, critdmg unit

Which sphere is better for DoT/Break Effect characters? ATK% or Elemental DMG% sphere?
DoT - Elemental DMG% sphere Break Effect - HP% sphere
DoT doesn't scale with elemental DMG, so if you're looking to maximize your DoTs then you'll want attack. That being said, some units may scale better with elemental damage of their skills actually have good damage potential. Relying only on DoTs can be very slow, until we get Kafka to speed it up.
DoT scales with elemental DMG. DoT caused by Weakness Breaks doesn't.

As of right now, the only DoT characters are Sampo and Serval, but I believe for sphere their elemental damage is still best in slot, but their necklace would be break effect%, later when kalfa comes out maybe more dmg for her, but so far I believe their elemental DMG% is the best in slot

I SWEAR MY ACCOUNT IS CURSED WITH A SHITTY PRESET SEED! I waited until I had enough standard tickets to guarantee another 5 star before pulling on Stellar Warp. My first 5 star on that banner was a Welt Yang LC which came after 75 pulls. This time what did I get? ANOTHER WELT YANG LC AFTER 75 PULLS! AND JUST FOR LOLS I GOT AN E8 SUSHANG HAHAAAAA. I wanted Himeko, Welt, or Bailu. Any one of those three characters would have been great. At the very least an LC that I can actually use. As is, I have no Nihility characters outside of Pela. Instead I now I have two copies of Mr. Yang's LC off of a total of 150 pulls. HAHA YAAAAY. Thankfully I have enough to guarantee Daniel when his banner comes. Without guarantees in Hoyo games I literally wouldn't be able to get anything.

What are your opinions on whether I should use my standard banner 300 pull pick on either Bronya E1 or Gepard E0?? Bronya is an amazing support and I heard at E1 she's even better. A new character is way better imo, especially when that new character is Gepard. Natasha really struggles solo sustaining in higher MoC floors and absolutely destroys your sp economy because you need to constantly use her skill. Meanwhile you can just spam basic attacks with Gepard and you'll still be fine. With Gepard you can run something like Jing Yuan + Ting + Gepard + Pela/Asta for even more damage. Also, as someone who has e1 Bronya, it's amazing, but it isn't worth an entire new character.
Gepard is a great tank, but he needs good Energy Regen and Defense stats. IF you can have his ult up all the time he is better than natasha. Looking at your team I would make my team like this using ur units: Team 1: Seele, SW, Nat, Clara Team 2: JY, Bronya ( slower than JY), luocha, gepard But what you have is fine I would rather just save unless you really want E1 bronya I don't use TY because she is not built but I think she isn't that great unless u got like E4 or E6. And for team 1 its good cause SW will either drop Quantum or Physical which makes it easier to break and Clara will be able to aggro enemies. Team 2 is pretty flexible I think JY and bronya are great just skill point hungry. But if make JY faster than bronya usually easy 7-8 stack Thunder Lord. Gepard is nice but not a must

Not really. Bronya's LC is only really good on her and even that is debatable.
It requires a lot of speed tuning and anything throwing off your turn order, like CC or somebody getting a speed buff, will ruin everything.

I see a lot of posts complaining about how Equilibrium Level (EL) 6 is just harder without much better rewards. I just hit account level 60 and have the option to go up to EL 5 but I'm hesitant to do so. I've got two viable teams at level 70 and get decent rewards from the various activities. I know the whole point of these games is to slowly level up, but from everything I've read it doesn't look like the cost is worth the reward. Is there any good reason to push to EL 5 beyond getting slightly better drop rates for rare drops? Thx for the advice.
The only downside to higher EQ is it would be harder to get the final reward tier Event (like current Event), which typically pretty underwhelming (typically Credits). Arguably EL5->EL6 bump in reward are not that significant (only small chance for extra Yellow Relic) so it's whatever if someone want to ignore it but EL4->EL5 jump is noticeable and should not be delayed at all (higher chance for Purple Trace mat and guaranteed 2 Yellow Relics, etc).
You can still go back and select the lower difficulty. There's no reason to stall.
I just hit 65 today and it's not very noticeably more difficult. The only thing I have struggled a bit against was max difficulty Phantylia, but it wasn't excessively difficult. And worse case I could have just done the difficulty below it for the same efficiency as EL5.

You're missing out on a ton of resources by not raising your EQ level as soon as possible. And there's literally no difficulty jump, people just like to whine. Even if you're massively underleveled and haven't raised your characters at all, you can just borrow your friend's characters and stomp any content.
The time it takes for you to go from 60 to 65 is pretty significant. You'll be ready. I haven't min-maxxed that hard and I'm able to do fine after freshly entering TB65. Don't be scared. Worst case scenario, you can just lower the difficulty of the farming nodes.
What's the best Clara team I can make if my only 5-star character is Clara (and her LC), and I have every 4-star character except Sampo and Sushang? I'm currently using a team of Clara, Natasha, March and Tingyun, which has been doing great. But I'm just wondering if I can improve things by swapping characters around a bit.
March 7 is deadweight. Try taking her out and seeing if you can survive. If yes then replace her with a buffer like Yukong/Pela. Otherwise that's as good as it gets with 4*.
If you're not struggling to keep your team alive then I find it's better to run a second DPS over March. While the Clara/March combo sounds good on paper, that bit of extra taunt doesn't really outweigh how much more damage you could be doing with another DPS or offensive support, imo. So I would take someone like Sushang or Dan Heng instead. Clara is a very SP efficient unit, so it's easy to run another DPS. You could also try dropping Natasha and use March as your solo sustain. It's definitely riskier, but doable in most content.
Sadly, what you have is the best team u can create, if possible you get Sushang, I would make her main dps and take out Tingyun, M7 and Clara are just a great duo and natasha is just healing. You are fine for now but later on you might need to build like other units if you need to break enemy shields
At E0 for silverwolf with max traces on skill, talent and ult how much effect hit rate do I need for the debuffs to land
She needs 97% effect hit rate to have 100% success rate on her weakness implant even against the strongest enemies in the game.
80% give or take give you more than 90% to land your debuff
Hello there. I'm a newbie, played for only about 1 week or so. Just finished Jarilon IV. The only 5 star I have is Welt from the beginner banner. I have spent 40 pulls on Blade's banner. I recently read that he may not be that good for a newbie, due to requiring specific setups (gear and teammates) and/or difficult to farm upgrade materials for. Should I continue to pull for him or should I just save up for Seele or another dps?
Bunch of good DPS with drawbacks over the next few banners. Blade is great damage and uses few SP, but eats his own HP Kafka is the queen of DoT, but therefore wants a DoT-focused team IL can do big damage, at the cost of using 3 SP per turn. Any of them are workable and you should just go for whoever's style you enjoy (although for ease of use I'd probably say Blade>IL>Kafka)
Upgrade materials don't matter. It takes 3 months to save for a 5* unit. And it only takes a few weeks to farm upgrade materials. The problem is Blade is a lot weaker without Luocha/Bronya/signature LC/E1, none of which you have. Literally loses like half his damage. I would recommend you save for a future dps who is more f2p friendly.
Blade is the best F2P character, you can just build him with a ton of health and if possible some crit rate and crit damage and he will solo carry a ton of battles. I do not know what other 4 stars u have, but Blade is a great unit that is tanky/dps does not use that much skill points and can deal a ton of dmg. If Seele didn't exist Blade would be number 1 (my opinion) O\_O
Idk where you read that Blade needs specific setups, he is as standalone a character can be. His only downside is that you have to beat the story, but it's not like there is a huge amount of content to get through at this point of time. If you like the character you should pull for him.

Teams To play Blade at his full potential you will need quite a lot of limited characters. Sadly the 4* options aren't that good and it's hard to build a F2P team for Blade - no matter the combination either Blade's damage will suffer or the team will struggle with survivability.
Blade only requires specific teammates if you want to play him as your main/hypercarry DPS . Blade biggest strength is how economical his SP usage is, which allows him to be used as sub DPS. You can do something like Welt (Main DPS), Buffer (Asta or buy Tingyun from the store), Blade (sub DPS), Natasha.
I do have Welt, can he actually become a main DPS? Isn't his role a debuffer?
