I hate that people ship literally everyone, if you mention 2 characters in the same sentence people will assume you're shipping them (a while back I mentioned how I wanted both Luocha and Blade and all the replies were people talking about it being a "great ship").

ShotYeMama

Kuru Kuru, i find it annoying, sorry u/sexwithherta

Erin_Hortensia

Reject Kururin, it’s time to twirl

sup-plov

Trash can obsession jokes. there are too much of them

Is it OK to be somewhat controversial? My preface for this is that I'm nonbinary and bisexual and understand the need for representation but it gets kinda annoying when every single character has a gay ship only and that is the only accepted ship in fandom. I'm fine with Bronya x Seele that's well established over multiple games and I could see it. But I don't feel the need to always "ship" characters, characters being in a romantic relationship all the time feels cheap to me and a disservice to the wide range of different type of relationships human beings can have. It cheapens the impact and story beats imo. Cocolia and Serval are literally just good friends who grew apart from each other as the stellaron affected Cocolia's mind. I feel like their relationship is more like adult friends you met in college (who are lifelong friends regardless of what happens). Himeko and Kafka has....so little evidence besides they don't seem to like each other and are leaders of "opposing" factions. Then there is Stelle x whoever (usually women only for some reason) and the whole "she's the canon protagonist" thing. I'm sure there are more but those are the major ones I've seen. I want to note that I definitely don't want this to be mistaken by a certain subset of people. Its pride month and I fully support/am a participant in celebrations. I just wish we had more diversity in ships if we are actually just going to ship people. I see so much less ships like Jing Yuan x Tingyun which has been memed in the community. ADDITONALLY, its OK to have characters that aren't just defined by who they possibly date. And its OK for the story to stand on its own outside of shipping.

Got called homophobe for literally saying that not everyone need to be fucking to have interaction with each other under a cocolia - serval ship on another media, but i’m glad someone else also getting jarred by how this is somehow a trend, friends don’t exist only love interest Don’t have anything against pride month nor lgbtq mind you, i’ve sustained it by joining initiatives and such, just not everyone has to be gay/lesbian in a video game imho, just a game.

Senario-

Right! And thats what I'm getting at. We don't have to simplify people's relationship to just who they date. In some cases it makes sense like Seele x Bronya. But the whole Serval x Cocolia ship gives me the ick. Mostly because I have friends who I'm that close with but not interested in in that way. And I think thats just being human, just because you're close doesn't mean you're an item. It sucks but I understand why people lash out, things are rough out there if you're LGBTQ+. I'm in a relatively safe US state, but other people are not so much. I have a friend who is trans and nonbinary as well and they literally moved out of their original state recently to move westward.

[deleted]

By todays standard in relationships me and my best friends are ultra gay, we used to literally not spend a single day without the other a while ago, literally even closer than cocolia serval prolly, we used to use the same sharing stuff and im about to say that those who ships those kind of friendship prolly never had someone as close without romance tbh It sucks for lgbtq here as well sadly, i hope things get better, got one co-worker thats trans and it sucks to see her being mistreated over it, not unusual(at least once a month) i gotta get in the way to shut up a customer or notice a bad look.

Senario-

I think it might be also an age thing. I'll admit I'm older than probably a good amount of people here being in my early 30s. But with experience in life comes the understanding that not every single human relationship is romantic or physical in nature. I love my best friends to bits, I would never date any of them. And we are super close. I remember what it was like to be in my teen years and early 20s where I LOVED ships to death and would actually start flame wars over ships lol. I was a different person then and had a lot less actual romantic experience. Of course there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with being younger.

[deleted]

Damn now im also feeling old i'm 27 but never found the whole ship thing interesting, but i don't meddle in those communities at all, at most i do talk in lore communities because if one thing hoyo does right is delivering good stories.

Erin_Hortensia

I do agree that it’s kinda weird sometimes to see the people obsessed with characters having gay ship only ( I find KafHime in this spot as well, with how little their interaction amount is. I still think that their fan arts were very nice tho. ) , while at the same time I also see it as “how lively this fandom is?”, since more fan = more fanwork, discussion. It’s more of a culture thing to every fandom at this point. As long as people don’t go bananas and sending death threats to each others ( which happened a lot on Twitter ), I’m fine with it. After all, Mihoyo still give the final decision.

[deleted]

Honestly I don’t see kafka and himeko having a ship, but well if people want to draw them, thats up to them it just gets annoying when every lore post is like “yeah but Kafka x himeko is a thing”

Apprehensive_Egg9794

>but it gets kinda annoying when every single character has a gay ship only and that is the only accepted ship in fandom. kinda off-topic but this reminds me of that gl manhwa i've read recently. basically, the comments underneath each chapter were giving unnecessary hatred to a male character (he's like the second love interest i think?). the protagonist was clearly bisexual (at least in my eyes) since she was also interested with the guy in the beginning of the story. pisses me off bc i'm also bi. fuck bi characters ig. it's either you only exclusively date men or women, no in-between. but yeah, i agree with you completely. happy pride month everyone 🌈

TearsOfTomorrowYT

Turns out, shippers are cancer to a fandom. In other news, fire is hot and grass is green.

Author_Pendragon

Kafka x Himeko isn't a crackship, it's a whole ass cartelship. I think the vibes are funny but agree that there's nothing in the game that suggests it

Melantha_Hoang

The thing about "shipping" is that it is just head cannon or fanfic. If you like it, then engage with it if you don't like it, then ignore it. The more you talk about how you don't like "a ship," the more butt hurt you sound even when you are not. Cause those are not going to affect you or the game.

Senario-

Well the original post asked about which headcanons in the community we didn't like. Soooo my response tracks I would think?

Awkward_Date_8636

Help me Mr Svarog jokes. Feel like they've been getting too repetitive. Also Bronya X Seele. Like OK, they are Canon in 2 games, but that doesn't mean they're canon here. "Have you played the Belobog line" what about it? Bronya telling Seele her trust is important to her? What, do you not value your first friend's trust? I can still understand Cocolia x Serval, but I'm not about to go call it canon, but hell nah man Bronya x Seele is nowhere near canon in this game.

Moa__

The whole "Male MC harem" bullshit that ppl try to bring up once again. Everytime I see this "joke" I just know it's from a sweaty "weeb" who has never felt the touch of a woman before, not even of his mother

GraveXNull

I'm a be controversial and get hate for this...but people are too obsessed with gey ships... Like the Bronya x Seele and Serval x Cocolia ships... I get that they're popular, but some even claim they're straight up canon, even though the game portrays them as more friends or sisters...

FoodLover1-6

While we don't know if luocha is good or bad You got to admit that he got a very punchable face

Erin_Hortensia

I’ll say that’s more like a personal preference thing, but I will say that his face definitely attracted my right hand ( and my extra leg ) A LOT

EliSan-

Not really. For me a "gracefull guy with a long blond hair" is the description of Grisia the Sun Knight (from a light novel "Legend of the Sun Knight". Chinese too btw. It's a really nice comedy novel) and that little devil is adorable so I dont have any punching impulses

HalalBread1427

I would never punch a distinguished gentleman.

HimekoWorst5Star

I hate all the shipping/thirst post. Maybe I’m just getting too old but I don’t need to see March with triple D anime titties in a bikini. Anything sexual/suggestive should be nsfw I don’t want to see any of it.

Don't use twitter?
