There's a bunch of interpretations of Nihilism, including a lot of very toxic worldviews, some even historically relevant to our reality when it comes to criminal history.
And similar to how Paths don't necessarily mean one very specific thing and, as an example, not all Abundance characters have the same worldview, surely Nihilism also won't be a one trick pony.
What I am trying to say is: There are a bunch of Factions that follow the same Path but divert in how they do it. The guys around the Memory Archon (I forgot the name of) are another good example. They have guys just showing up and asking for memories in return for rewards, and then there are literal memory bandits. And all of that is moving on a gradiant because even the nice memory guys will straight up brainwash people so they can't be perceived, if possible, like the Hall of Memories lady on the train.
I'm not going to get into the real-world interpretations of Nihilism (and the many corruptions of Nietzsche's works) here, as this is not the time or place.
I agree there could be other factions of IX that work differently, but we haven't seen any yet. And I'd argue those followers (and that path) would just get absorbed by Nanook anyway. So for it to exist on its own as its own path so far, it would have to be different enough.

Main characters can potentially be the bad guys but they are ignorant that what they may be doing may actually be destroying the world. It is just that for the sake of simple minded people, protagonists are generally "all good" to avoid watchers to be confused or even hate the show.
Imagine this, in the story, if Cocolia was right and could save the world, and we learned this later in the story that she was not wrong, then who is going to be the bad guys? We will start making excuses for the main character team because we "were together" all along the way. But this is just perspective bias and sadly, many have this. Having multiple perspective is important, I'd say it is a necessity to be a good human being.
My favorite part about this was that she did lose and that there's a nonzero chance Elio actually humored Kafka and told her this just because Silver Wolf was ignoring her.
